Interesting -- watching this after Johnny won the verdict in the Virginia trial... in this video, while they're driving around, whenever he sees a bunch of people, he says "those are my relatives". Remembering when he would step into court every morning and wave to the crowd, he would turn to the cameramen and say "those are all my relatives"! It's just something that's heartwarming, knowing that he's said that for years and years and it wasn't just specifically for the trial! 💜
Exactly, he actually has always been saying it, over the years! In early 2000s , all the way through. So nothing he was saying in trial was specifically for the trial. If you watch interviews in different points of time, he has been super consistent in his answers, his views on ambitions, Hollywood, fame, values , and all. Because all of it is authentic :)
A very good interview Johnny ❤❤❤❤❤Nj
@@NataMessi well, its an old showbiz saying..Not one of Johnnys own. Its good that he says it though
It been 30 years and I still wanna get back to 1980s-1990s . Life was just simpler than these days
100% true....I grew up in the 80s and 90s. Miss those 2 decades. My elementary to college years 😍🙏🏼
So true!! The 80's and 90's were the best times of my life!
I agree, I grew up in the 90's.
80'S BABY 💯
I loved when he said he didn't think he would ever have a star on the walk of fame...If you only knew Johnny..
Thought and said the same before I saw your comment 😉
I agree. Thought the same thing. So humbled.. Love him.
This man is so SWEET. He is acknowledging the older lady sitting on the bench by waving at her and saying hey, hi. What a beautiful soul. He's only 28 in this interview. How many 28 years old people acknowledge older people like that?
29 year old depp look so handsome
and i also love his attitude too very nice person and not arogant
this is so cool. everything is so 90s. seeing his fans screaming on the street and how they're dressed. all of the different buildings... this interview is so amazing
When he passed by the older lady sitting on the bench with the umbrella he said hey. Then he told the interviewer "she looked really sweet ". Johnny has always been amazing with a huge heart ❤
Johnny got super shy when they got out of the car 🥺
Huge, vulnerable moment. Preparing to get mobbed.
Johnny should do more interviews like this one, loved it !
Love this interview it's more comportable, love the 90s and johnny too, that what im surprused is he call the people "his relatives" even now he calls his fans relatives.he so cute.😍
I was shocked too XD I didn't think he's been calling the fans relatives since 1993 ahhhaaaa ( I'm a relative BTW XD )
He was with Winona at the time. Of course he felt more comfortable during this interview. Winona gave him calm, she kept him cool like Tim burton said. All of his interview before 1993, he looked more happy. It’s a shame that they split, they knew they loved each other but the media was just causing so much drama.
I was in LA in 92. If only I could have ran into Johnny & met him back then, would have been awesome!! He was and still is such a Gracious Man..😍
I was born in October 65, 4 hours from KY in Vol country. Had a family raising similar to Johnny. I lived in San Diego 82-84. Padres won the world series. Wished i had ran into him as well. It was such a better time back then.
@@justanorton2418
It sure was, born in 66 myself, so 80s girl here. I really miss the good ol' times. The world is awful now....😣 I was born in October too, Libra 😎♎
Its interesting seeing Johnny able to walk up to the hotdog stand like that without a crowd of people going nuts and grabbing at him for a selfie.
I didn't get the impression that he was recognized.
@@conniediaz6456 Yeah I don't think anyone there recognised him.
These days though, if he's spotted anywhere in public he has loads of fans surrounding him. He probably wasn't quite as famous in 1992.
@@markvarley2962 It was a better time.
Noticed the hotdogs were "on the house." Did they recognize JD? Or was it the interviewer's British accent? There was one cop on a motorcycle lingering around them trying to not be in the camera view.
Even back then he called fans "Relatives" 🤭😉😂 6:33 10:29
8:31 When he called the old lady a most beautiful thing he's seen in his life and says Hey/Hello to her and called her "she was really sweet"
"No, I dont think they ever will"
Little did Johnny know that he would get a Hollywood Star 9:44
He looks good with long hair.
❤️❤️❤️
"A friend of mine told me I should try acting."
That friend? Nicholas Cage.
Very good interview. Very relaxed and I felt like I really got to know Johnny. How sweet was he to notice the old lady and say hello to her. 💕💕💕. What a sweet guy.
That was very nice of him, saying hello to a sweet elderly lady. Definitely shows his character, that he was such an amazing man back then, and still is to this day!
ジョニーの優しい声と口調は彼の人間性が伺えます。

I saw this at the time. I 'videoed' it and watched it again and again because he was just such a cool guy. Here I am again, more than thirty years later, looking it up on UA-cam.
í kept thinking surely someone else has this and will upload it? It was such a cool idea for a TV show in those days, and í knew at the time it was a special thing. 30 {!} years on, it's even more so, with the added element of capturing an era & place long gone {that Sunset block is set to be torn down for some hideous apartments}.
Sadly, í never thought to tape it at the time of broadcast, and always regretted it as my admiration for Johnny Depp grew. A year or so after the show í was desperate to see it again and to see if it was as good as í remembered. í wrote a LETTER! to Channel X, Ross' then production company, requesting a VHS copy. To my surprise & delight a video tape cassette arrived a month or so later. Not as great quality as í'd expected {it had been rush recorded over a 1990 Ross doc on David Lynch!} but at least í posessed it.
FFWD 27 years to Covid Lockdown #1, alone in the house, í finally get around to digitising the tape, and seeing as how the 21st century Google World seems barely even aware of this JD '90s TV gold, let alone able to screen a copy, í felt my Depp duty to shove it online...
I remember watching this at the time. It’s my favourite ‘Tonight’ episode and I’ve been looking for it for ages. So unusual to do a live drive around LA.
Just such an incredibly generous and cool guy!
Johnny is just like "Hey!"
😭💕
Johnny used 2 speak so soft lol he seemed always shy
So cool..The young days of Johnny...awesome watch.
Awesome,sweet,down to earth Johnny Depp!Love you!(M)
To be riding down the road in a drop top, the quality of the audio is exceptional.
Finally someone put it up! I thought I was going crazy thinking i dreamed I watched it at the time.
Dang he’s been saying “my relative’s forever “
This is really out of the ordinary, very nice.
God i wish i was a adult through the 90s
but then you would be as old as me!
I like living in future looking back at past.
@@sandy-quimsrus 😭😭 to bad I still wanna go back to the 80’s/90’s
He's so beautiful
Can u even imagine rolling with the Depper!!!❤️❤️❤️
Great job ! Thanks for sharing 😁😁😁
Love you Johnny 💕❤️💕
That cameraman gave me a heart attack when he stood up....Jesus don't do that lol
Thanks a lot for posting this.
Great stuff !
That is awesome to see him in interview you so calm and not interview he looks great
I remember when this aired, funny thing is I left just off Sunset Blvd now .. I actually bumped into Johnny Once , nice guy ..He moved my accent
Aww the guy said earlier on in the video that he'd touch more on Johnny's work with Tim Burton later but never did
Interesting to see hollywood this way. But so nice to be able to get to. His life has really been interesting too. No boring moments. Bet Johnny would love Canadian Bacon Pizza. My favorite. 🙂
💞💞 Thanks for your unconditional love and support you have been showing me. It has been a difficult time for me but your love keeps me pushing strong. I can’t appreciate enough the support from fans who have been standing by me through thick and thin. Where are you watching from?

I love watching this. Johnny so nice, saying hi to everyone waving. Said the elderly women was the most beautiful thing he ever saw ugh
Handsome, beautiful, innocents of youth nice interview. 👌
April. 1992.. I was 13 year old and just came to the U.S for 3 months
The Hot dogs were free but I bet Johnny went back and paid them. 💕
That's probably why they charge so much. All celebrities eat for free!
In my eyes JD has a sweet, gorgeous softly intelligent way about him. Tactful, diplomatic, cautious, street wise and all round very personable to the people he encounters....
I have been looking for this interview for years and years thanks for putting it up 🙏
I remember this so well!
Never seen this before!!!!!!!!!!!!
Que cada tan bella Johnny Depp
no smartphones, no selfies; just a good old shout and wave.
does anyone know of any other old driving-interviews? its a great format.
Back when he could go out in Hollywood and just be another Joe. Life comes at ya fast sometimes, and before you know it, here you are.
I swear if he’d do these kind of interviews now people would literally run after the car and jump on it 😭😂
The awkward moment when the host asks "Hey, where would the gangs be??" uhhhh
12:24 Lol
How's that awkward? It's reality.
Nice interview ☺️
Great video thanks for sharing. I wish he'd let Johnny do a bit more of the talking. They should do this together again! Can you imagine the chaos 😅 I wish it were doable though.
Thank you so much! Very appreciated!
This was awesome
Never knew JD was interested in SK documentaries! Pretty cool!
Thanks for the tour😄♥️. Hey, it might’ve been in the 90’s, I’ve never been to Hollywood or even Cali. But to travel back in time with Johnny☺️♥️n his host…it’s a Blessing💥♥️.
Thank You Again for sharing❣️
How cool is this! Great to see.
There in a 59 cadillac, big but stunning. Quite a cool interview
They should have gone to the Viper Room to.
Did he own the Viper Room in 1992?
I thought he became a co-owner in 1993.
@@latifamoumen5422 In the second part, they went to the same bar that Johnny Depp owned in 1993 and called it Viper room
wow loved it
Great!!!
Lmao he said the relatives joke
Such a simple man my Johnny 😍❤️
💗
30 yrs ago ... never seen this
He has a star on hollywood boulevard .
❤️❤️❤️
i love you ❤hanson
He was calling his fans relatives even back then.
I am LOL when he asked JD where are the gang members!!! Like really!!!
I used to watch the Manson tapes and was very interested in the psychology of criminality aswell as Jefferey dahmer
Where is Part 2? Loved the interview.
he looks like kurt cobain here
Hahaha I thought it was Rosie O'Donnell in the thumbnail 😂
Jhonny watched Charles Manson documentry 😉😊 last.crazy one 😀
It was OK but it's mostly just Ross being very touristy and mentioning things about LA that everyone knows about ("Ooh look, there's Mann's Chinese Theatre", "Hey, there's Pink's hotdog stand").
Awesome job. what are your future video Ideas? I really want To be youtube friends :o
There’s a man in the back seat.
Cameraman
How do you like being an actor....it's cool kinda isolating no autonomy but it's alot better than the alternative...I can't get a real job because I'm the worst worker ever 🤣
and thats fate
World oldest Gopro man..
Johnny still smoke cigarets
Interesting, same year River died at Viper Room.
I was tempted to write that on here. I think we all know what was up.
I thought River Phoenix died on Halloween, 31 october of 1993.
@@latifamoumen5422 yes, you're right! A year after this!
Daxton Knight what do you mean?
What Americans lead the way? It started with Jack the Ripper and that other chick who was also a serial killer I think was there. But there were a ton of other serial killers in the uk. It’s just an extremely tiny nation so of course there won’t be as many. Also possibly the most prolific serial killer of all time was British Harold shipmen, and Lucy Letby was just caught in the uk for killing seven infants. I mean come on, I know British people always want to slam Americans but make it make sense at least for once.
Those hot dogs though🤢
Sweet, absurd Johnny Depp...
A camera guy strapped to the top of the car moving at traffic speed is not dangerous at all. Oh, Hollywood.
Ross wanted drugs
Wow you tube wins again. I haven’t seen this since the early 90s.
