It's one of Hollands most (and oldest) iconic rock bands. They started to make hits from the 60ies till recently. It's just so sad that their guitarist George Kooymans was diagnosed with ALS disease earlier this year and the band won't perform anymore as Golden Earring. 40 years ago I saw them for the first time! Love them. xx

Just keep in mind, that singer Barry Hay, guitarist George Kooymans and drummer Ceasar Zuiderwijk were all 67 years old, at the time of this gig. Bassist Rinus Gerritsen was 69 years old.
Radar Love is a song from 1973 and became a hit in the US in 1974.
I lost count in how many times I have seen them perform live. The first time was when I was 15 years old in 1980. I will never forget that.concert.

This one is great when you know the song, but it's not how it's meant to be and how the whole world knows it! 🚗😎

This was nice, just a bit too long - over 12mins, when the original is only 3.5mins long.
The original really hits hard - this is more about individuals showing off their talents, with the song groove getting lost at times.
Still better than most music anyway, so saved 😀

The drummer Cesar Zuiderwijk is also active as a teacher. In September 1992 he sees a dream come true when he makes music together with a thousand drummers on a floating pontoon in the Maas in Rotterdam and performs Radar Love. In 1999 he was invited by War Child to give drum lessons to children traumatized by the war in the Bosnian city of Mostar.

Oh yessssss Radar Love, THE number one of road songs!! The Golden Earing is a Dutch rock band from The Hague that has played together since the early 60’s! The guitarist George Kooymans and Barry Hay, the singer, wrote the song together in the early 70’s. Recently the guitarist was diagnosed with ALS and the group took the decision to no longer play concerts. Thus ending 60 years of legendary Rock n Roll. The drummer Cesar (66 years old) is a legend on drums, as you can see he gives is us his all. The lead singer is the father-in-law of the guitarist ‘SPIKE’ of Di-Rect ;-) It’s a small world after all! And last but not least congratulations with you 50K followers!!! YAY partyyyyy ! ;-)

"Radar Love" is a song by the Dutch rock band Golden Earring. The single version of "Radar Love" reached #9 on the Record World chart, #10 on Cash Box, and #13 on Billboard in the United States. It hit the Top 10 in many countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada,[5] Australia, Germany, and Spain....According to Rustyn Rose at Metalholic, the song "is a rock masterpiece, from its hooky chugging bassline, to its simple but unmistakable riffs, to its catchy anthemesque chorus. Even the jam which rides the song out is note for note classic."[9]
The song has been chosen by many magazines and websites as a Top 10 driving song, often ranking in the top three. It was chosen as the best radio song by readers of the Washington Post in November 2001. It was the #1 driving song in Australia (Australian Musician Magazine, November 2005), beating two AC/DC-songs; and in Canada (BBC Canada, March 2006).[10] In 2011 it received a vast number of votes as the "Ultimate Driving Song" in a poll on PlanetRock and "finished well ahead of its nearest rival, Deep Purple's Highway Star."[11]

My all time favorite band. Grew up with them as my dad been a fan since their early day's. When I was 14 he decided it was time I would learn to appreciate real music and took me to a unplugged concert of the Golden Earring (to get used to them first). Ever since we made it our yearly father son thing. I'm 37 now, and till the country got on lockdown, we still went to their concerts every year. Sadly, the last time we went, it would turn out to be one of their last concerts ever (the tour came to a end, then covid hit so we couldn't go the year after, and then the very sad news about George hit us).
We were there at this concert, their 50th anniversary. The Ziggo dome was completely sold out. My dad managed to get a few tickets, we sat all the way up in the last ring of the stadium. They were tiny for us, but it was a amazing show to be at.
The beauty of their shows was also that you saw young and old folks all loving them. Grandparents with their grandchildren, all experienced this band in their live time, all been there live. And unlike certain stones that roll, they didn't need other musicians to play behind the scenes (yup, Only Mick was live and one more guy, the rest were playbacking their instruments at live concerts). They made quite the shows out of it and even though Radar Love was a must to play, they always made that main event of their shows. Everyone loves that song and got them world fame (even though White Snake tried to claim they wrote the song....more then 10 years after the Earring already released it). They know the people want to hear that song, and they love playing it too. Sometimes you get artists who get famous with a song and hate it, so they refuse to play it, but these guy's knew that that song got them on the map for many so they embraced it.
Fun fact: Homer Simpson loves the Golden Earring! They used Radar Love a few times in the show, one time Homer was singing it.

bass player Rinus was peronally asked in 1960's by Jimmy Hendrix if he would join his band, Riny declined... later in 1975 Cesar ( The Drummer) was asked by The Who if he would join them, because Keith "Moon The Loon Moon" Moon was already unreliable by his substance abuse... and also Cesar declined to leave Golden Earring

This band was older then The Rolling Stones, This line-up was longer in sevice then ZZ-Top, Jimi Hendrix personally asked Rinus if he woulf join his band... Riny declined... in 1975 The Who asked Cesar if he would replace Keith Moon... he also declined and stick with Golden Earring. They opened for LEd Zeppelin in 1969, had Aerosmith, KISS, Ted Nugent open for them, later Ted wanted them in his Rock show all star lineuop.

Hi there, I can tell you, you can actually talk to eachother on stage. The sound is going to the audiance. At the stage it's a normal volume. I know it sounds weird to most off the people but it is what it is.
