I don't think most people realize just how much insight he had into so many subjects. He was so much more than just the image. We didn't just lose the greatest entertainer that has ever lived , but a genuinely humble , sincere person. He never took his fame for granted , or too seriously. He absolutely never forgot where he came from and I think one of the things that really stands out the most and forever will , was his love for his fans ! There will never be another entertainer in a thousand lifetimes that will have the relationship that he has ! When he died , a part of us died with him .
Steve English, I don't know if you saw A Star is Born, but do you think he would have been great in that role? I always try to imagine him portraying John. I can never seem to get there. Kris was so incredible and there was so much chemistry between Barbara and Kris.
Saphire Blue funny you should mention. I have tried to imagine him in that role. Kris K was incredible and had great chemistry with Barbara. I wish Elvis had taken it for his own satisfaction. But would the film had been the success it was? We will never know.
Then listen to the 1962 Interview. Elvis is very thoughtful there. Here he's a bit introverted, maybe because he's not familiar with the Interviewers. Its from the "Elvis on Tour" Movie where some Talking is used between the Songs.
Friday a week ago I went to the Elvis movie for the 3rd time with my daughter here in Auckland NZ. As we were leaving we bumped into an American couple who have been living here 40 years. It turns out the husband was a film editor on the Elvis on Tour film in 1972!
I think a genius you can be even If you did'nt composed something..this man changed the face of the music forever..the emotions and the carisma never forgotten.
Octaviana Panait there are a lot of song writers that can’t sing. He didn’t write so what right? No one could sing like Elvis. His numbers prove that. 40 yrs later the world still mourns his untimely death.
Great interview.. He was the best. He mentioned playing at the Fox here in Detroit! No one talked like Elvis, no one sang like Elvis, no one looked like Elvis. He was a true gift for the world.
I love the story about Elvis telling his gate guard, Uncle Vester, not to be rough with the fans that hung around the gates..."those cats put me on that hill"! Legend!!!!
I don’t think he ever really had any idea of the true extent of his talent and how amazing and influential his gift was to future generations of musicians and singers. I love that bit in the interview where he says he was not even aware of what his body was doing, the music just took over him. Seems like deep down he was a very shy, spiritual and humble man. God bless you Mr. Presley ❤️
@@joannemcclure3546 It’s just so utterly tragic how it all ended for him, but there had never been anyone like him before so there was no blueprint for him to follow. Must’ve been hard living up to being Elvis Presley 24/7 😢
Something people don't realize, because Colonel Parker kept him so isolated from the public and for that reason, Elvis was able to give few interviews, he really remained that same humble, soft-spoken person he was at the beginning of his career. His on-stage image became so over the top and flashy, that I think people believe Elvis also became gregarious. He didn't. All those around him said he never changed. I think this interview shows that. What a special man. What a loss to us. We love you, Elvis, and miss you
yes. It must have been awful deteriorating those last 4-5 years. Things went down hard in the end. I think it was the 1973 betrayal of Parker, being taken for so much money & assets by Priscilla; his RCA music rights being sold; and then his dad firing Sonny, Red & Dave in 1976. They admitted writing the tell-all revenge book out of anger & bitterness. He died 2 weeks after that book came out & was due to start his summer tour. I heard Elvis was sick with worry abt what he would say if people confronted him about the salacious things in the book. It was the second lowest point in this beautiful man's life, after the death of his mama. Being betrayed by these lifelong boyhood friends he entrusted his life to must have cut him to the bone. I am sad all that happened. I am glad he and his family are now all together in peace.
Elvis is not drugged up here omg that's how he talked.. he just sounds tired and he never liked interviews and talking about himself much..he is very timid and humble. Beautiful Man!!!!
Actually, he began taking drugs in the 50s (speed) to stay awake while on the road. That progressed to uppers (or Benzadrine) to stay awake while on maneuvers in the Army. By the 1960s, Elvis experimented with harder stuff like Placidyls and by the 1970s he was taking Demerol and Dilaudid and even using liquid cocaine.
Wrong. Elvis started taking stuff to stay awake while touring in the 1950s. And he also then began stealing his mother's medication. Don't believe me? Read "Revelations From The Memphis Mafia" - specifically read what the late Lamar Fike has to say about Elvis's drug usage. I think they know more than we all do.
+Walter Butler One Hand man: Elvis was not a pedophile not even one time. Where did you get that crap from? DeeStanley, the golddigging witch! Tho in this Interview,he had to Relax his Nerves for it. For the most part Did very well
Comming from a DIE HARD 54 yr old elvis fanatic this interview( which i had heard b4 in pieces) is a complete hidden gem!! Best candid interview by him HANDS DOWN!
It was wonderful to hear Elvis tell his story not Priscilla. You could hear the sincerity in his voice and how humble he was and his laugh. I cried like a baby when he died, I was 19. There will only be one Elvis, he is truly missed. Love you Elvis.
Diane Wesco I was also 19 when Elvis died and had tickets to see him again at the Colosseum on Long Island, NY where I’d seen him July, 19, 1975 evening performance. Yes, I also cried.
William Abel this was an interview conducted by the director and producer of ‘Elvis on Tour’ 1972. I believe their names were Pierre Aldige and Abel. It can be heard intermittently throughout the first part of the film; subsequently on forums like UA-cam. As for this preacher dude with the “uncanny” resemblance visually and sonically to Elvis, how the hell does this stuff propagate and continue to flourish with profusion all these years later? It is beyond my comprehension that people buy this stuff...smh.
It's cool knowing that Elvis wasn't as isolated or oblivious as some biographers have claimed. I was also surprised to discover that he was as aware of his audience and cared as much as he says here. This interview shows Elvis to be an intelligent, mature adult---not just a talented 'yokel,' as some have claimed. This is very eye-opening; thanks for posting it.
What a great interview. Elvis is so sincere and humble. I can't imagine what it would be like not to be able to listen to his music and I love hearing him talk. He sounds as good talking as he does singing. Still humble after becoming such a Legend. He is incredible and I love him still.
What an extraordinary find! I’ve never heard Elvis speak about his career in this way. Thank you for uploading. I’m glad so many people are delving into his life and career beyond the Las Vegas image, due to the new film.
listen to what Elvis says, it was natural for him, didn't know what he did to make the girls scream...not rehearsed, not practiced...just pure raw talent...the thing legends are made of....or as they say now the "IT" factor...
Elvis was so humble, sincere, generous, kind, loving, etc. I love to listen to him sing and talk. Love his sweet laugh. Thanks for sharing this wonderful interview. TCB... and TLC...
that voice , persona, generosity, and appeal, can never be repeated.and his laugh---whenever you hear it on an interview, or video, --you know that's elvis
Absolutely Elvis was and still is so unique and like you say never to be repeated What he gave as well an incredible voice and phenomenonal entertainment to so many was a,pure spiritual energy that was so infectious and natural and so hence one of the many reasons people did and will always "love"him
No one understood Elvis he was such a smart man .so much more than just music he had so many talents and dreams.heart of gold.just a amazing person.and still always loved for who he is.
@@sharonjensen3016 Yes, Sharon, "The Prophet" was given to ELVIS in 1956, by his first true love, JUNE JUANICO. She has written this in her book, ELVIS..In The Twilight Of Memory.
I commented before below and started listening again to this interview. I just can’t get over the specialness of this man. So sincere. No pretentiousness. I love hearing him relate how his shows were back in the fifties and the much smaller and simple venues. When I think of the memories some people must have of seeing him back then. How special. I thankfully got to see him here in Pittsburgh, New Years Eve, 1976. Very proud and blessed for that. R.I.P. sir.. TCB⚡️
The part of your comment that really grabbed my attention was "No pretentiousness". Excellent point. This is something I myself often think about it. And it's something not often recognized about Elvis. In an industry like Hollywood business and Music / Acting industry it's LA LA LA Loaded with pretentiousness ...even most people in the industry know this. Yet Elvis, the most famous person of his era, was well known to be one of the least pretentious people in the industry. His down-to-earth genuine humility wasn't just an act. He was so legitimate and real that some people in the industry that met him actually gave interviews saying of all the other celebrities they encountered throughout their own careers, Elvis always remained one of the genuinely kindest coolest people they ever had the pleasure of talking with. No pretentiousness.
thank you so much for your channel!! as a member of Gen-Z who learned about Elvis' legacy through the recent movie from Baz Luhrman, I deeply appreciate being able to hear about his life from his perspective. he was such an important figure in American history and I am glad that I can appreciate his music and contributions all these years later!
May I suggest that you avail yourself of all the authentic footage. No actor can portray Elvis Presley on any level (talent, charisma, looks, physical size, etc.)
The correct date for this is March, 1972. It was recorded late one night, against the Col.'s wishes for the documentary, Elvis On Tour. Only a few snippets were ever used. Nice interview,,,he gave so few of them.
I agree!!! Knew it was familiar. Thanks for reminding me because I was like after June? No... couldn't be. March sounds exactly right and the Col. Sure didn't want him doing it. 😡
This was recorded in a dressing room on the MGM lot. It had previously been used by Clark Gable. Elvis was uncomfortable. They began to present old photographs, and loosened up a bit. Eventually discussing his disappointment with his movie career.
This is fascinating to listen to, he really has time to give details, to really answer in full. Great to hear so much of his thoughts and opinions. What a performer.
this is by far the most honest Elvis interview ive ever heard. Im stunned. I didn't believe that this stuff would of been allowed to be recorded. It says alot about the way he was sometimes poorly managed by the colonel. And about his own feelings about his career.
He used to like Mario Lonza. He told Priscilla. She was embarrassed to tell Elvis that. Then he said it’s ok. I like him too. She thought he said it to be nice till she saw it in his records.
@@gracieg7601 I loved Mario Lanza as well. My parents had one of his albums that I listened to all the time. My favorite song was You do Something to Me. My mom is only 10 years older than Elvis yet she never listened to him. My parents never listened to rock. They were very old fashioned and came here after world War 2. They had all Broadway musical albums. I have always loved Elvis. Forgot to say, I was shocked when I heard Elvis liked Mario Lanza. I just learned that a couple of weeks ago.
This is one of the most interesting interviews Ive heard with Elvis! He is so serious about giving his answers. What a humble person and interesting personality he was. I feel he was very secure with the boys.Red,Sonny,Marty, Richard,Alan,Lamar and of course Billy who I admire very much even if I never met this guy.Very recommended interview! 44 min of life quality! Thanks so much for sharing!
Absolutely marvelous to hear this interview in its entirety. It is quite amazing the amount of footage and interviews that there are of Elvis that have not officially been released. I believe there is enough material now that has surfaced to produce a sequel to both the documentary films Elvis made in the 70's and call it Elvis That's The Way It Was. The fans would flock to see a new film about the finest entertainer that has ever lived. Thank you for posting this I have enjoyed listening to every minute of it :-)
I was ten years old when Ep caught my attention, or one can say my eyes , it was 1970 , I saw him for the first time while watching him on the terer he TV , I could not take my eyes of him , I remember asking my mom is this man still alive , realizing that I was watching something that was a little bit older than myself. To be acted it was about fifteen years old I love him than and even more to day ,as l have studied his life I belive there is not much I don't know or hear, if I find something new on him iam there watching and taking it all in he was my first love ,and always will be ,like I say when I saw him with my eyes l realized what the opposite sex was for the first time rest in peace my love
Good to see so many comments for this particular interview with Elvis. It is indeed one of the most intimate one he ever gave, very revealing and very honest, and it deserves to be seen (or rather, heard) - such a shame they didn't use more of it for EOT. Some people have commented that there's footage of the interview but this is not the case - that would be a different, shorter one Pierre & Robert did with Elvis a few months earlier which can be found here --> ua-cam.com/video/H0QXSMgssCU/v-deo.html Thanks for all the support and discussion - this is exactly why we uploaded the interviews; so they'd be easy to access and more people would take notice Elvis did do them more than many think. So feel free to explore the other ones from our account as well and never forget to read the descriptions for more details regarding each. More to come once we get our other Elvis projects out the way.
Good to see so many positive appreciative coments regarding Elvis free of Priscilla though he mentions about wanting to get marriedreferring to his past.press media twist and turning the fact and gis personality so much messes up your mind .Because it doesn add up .You see a persons innocence some shortcomings and there is this greedy fame hungry people throwing bullshit about his entire existence is heartbraking. This interview is sold proof of what kind of genuine being he was.He is conpletely honest. There is no question he would avoid or answer like a diplomat he anawers fully and logically. From now on if aany info cannot be confirmed by kings mouth im not gonna wven borher listening to it .Except loving fans.
Thank You so much You did a beautiful deed letting it out in the public platform. This is true tribute not that fact twisting Wlvis film from 2022 .It shadows his memory black does not highlight it. I donno i was too buisy getting angry and crying af the end .It was pajnful to watch.
We will never have a chance to have another entertainer like Elvis again. He was a special gift given th us from our Lord and what a treat he was and always will be in our hearts and minds! Thank you Elvis for all the wonderful memories. R.IP. Elvis.🙏😇😘😍
This interview is pure gold. believe it took place in a darkened room for the “Elvis On Tour” film, perhaps over several days. There IS video of some of it somewhere online, I’ve seen it.
How so very true, your comment sums it all up so very well, look how far we have come.....Elvis will always be - a real true-life super hero! The best musician we have, and will ever have....
What a great interview! Never heard it before. Thanks so much for this….so great to hear him talking about himself and how things affected him. So humble and sincere…..Thanks so much for posting this….
This IS Elvis. His demeanor, speech, his communication. His story, his way for once . You can hear his personality , his humour, his honesty. Why, why, didn't he do personal interviews with top interviewers of his time Maybe hearing his story from he himself, Elvis, would have made the difference of night and day . This interview was done without the Cornel s consent. Behind the SOB'S back. What a shame. Thank you very much This interview is a needle in a hay stack .
Thank you this post interview had elvis presley so humble, his honest, generously, very kind, loving his fans all people around the world caring all had packaged elvis he loved our God his send Gifted from God to us, besutifull man his voice so very cool, soft, loke and angel really i like the way his laughter talking, his move dance etc. That is why i could listening his music all night over and over again replay his was concert i full sleep him in my ears ilove you elvis wow i get surprises now hearing missed your mom im glad to hearing this interview it is my pleasure..rest well Elvis king in rock in roll all over tge would never can replace him his live the music everything thank you UA-cam God Bless always.
This is a must listen and shows Elvis' intimate understanding of the music he listened to and enjoyed and the music he played, he always is respectful to other artists. He is polite, modest and very honest in his views and opinions. A pity he did not do more of these over the years. Fascinating
Wanted to say thank you for uploading all of these Elvis interviews onto your channel! He was a fascinating man who has had one too many people speak on his behalf, so it's great to hear it straight from the King.
Along with Lennon's 1970 interview with Jan Wenner for Rolling Stone, this interview is certainly the most important interview from the entire Age of Rock. Towards the end, when he gets so introspective about his disillusionment with Hollywood, it is so personal, that one feels like one is eavesdropping on the most private thoughts of a mythic figure. If you read Guralnik's Careless Love, you learn the incredible serendipity and bravery (on Schiller's part) that went into this incredible document. @ 30:55, we begin to hear about the REGRETS of the biggest star in History, and one is left dumbfounded at the depth of his humanity.
I love Elvis’s speaking voice & his laugh is adorable just as he is physically beautiful. I just discovered Elvis last year after the biopic & am watching everything about him. I’m obsessed & in love with him even though he left this planet 45 years ago. This phenomenon makes no sense but he will stay in my heart & mind forever
Happened to me two months ago, after watching some document in TV. Since then I do listen or watch only Elvis. I am happy, I'm not only one, who fall in love with him. In Czech rep. he was not known very much, do not know why! Maybe because he was so sexy...and simlpy THE BEST.
I just had a re-awakening of how good he really was. His live shows still stand up to legendary status. That he can sing perfectly while shaking, dancing and laughing... nobody can touch him to this day. My kids are now learning about him. I'm infatuated all over again, he was beautiful ❤
Elvis mi emoziona sempre e spesso mi commuove e no riesco a capire perché mi fa questo effetto......però è così. ❤❤❤ Saluti
SO good to hear his voice. I just love this. Miss him more and more every day. I agree with everything below that Steve said. There was SO much more to this man, than just the image. Very intelligent. Brave, Kind to a fault. And definitely a part of us all died when he LEFT~...
The line that really got me was "Hollywood's image of me was wrong". But even the public had their own preconceived notions about Elvis. This interview definitely blows them all out of the water.
No one like this gorgeous man. Love his voice and laughter! So many facets of this amazing human being! I wish he could have reached goal he wanted. MAYBE HE WOULD STILL BE HERE TODAY!!! RIP ❤❤❤❤ELVIS. WE ALL WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU ❤️ 😍 💖
Amazing…by far the best in-depth interview ever hearing from the man himself about very personal things. Not an image from someone else’s mind but the real human Elvis. Priceless!
He was indeed as someone put it "a victim of circumstance ". Before elvis there were no fans like today screaming and fainting. No one had seen that before. To lose your anaminaty ( sorry about the spelling) what came with fame and the hanger on's in the business, no one was prepared for it at all. He was the first in many respects. He is not dead he has gone home🌹💕🙏
Martin Sheen has a great take on the power and influence Elvis had on the world. Nobody really knew how to handle or guide a force like Elvis. He changed the entire landscape , achieved so much so soon with no real guidance or room to grow as an artist.
This was recorded during rehersals at R.C.A. Studio C in Los Angeles, prior to the Spring Tour. This is Robert Abel doing the interview. They are recording this for the Concert Documentary "Elvis On Tour" 1972.
I wonder is there any video of this in totality or just audio? I’ve seen snippets of the video interview but I think that’s a different time here he’s alone with the film makers ...
This is his best interview, of his last 5 years. The posted photos are a fave. The pic's are at his Hillcrest home in L.A. He looks great, wearing jeans, as he was rarely seen wearing. This was a year, as you can imagine, like many of his, carrying the weight of the world on his shoulders, it continued, until his last days on this earth. 😇✌️❤️✝️♾️🙏🏻 Sweet, Sweet Spirit 🎶 😎TCB ⚡
What that picture captures is Elvis walking to the gate at his Hillcrest home to meet a fan who looked like him. One of the guys noticed him and told Elvis he had to come see this guy. Elvis on his way to the gate was holding a pistol behind his back on the way up to see him.
The most fascinating part of this interview for me is the discussion about Hollywood. You can sense Elvis' disappointment (dare I say regret), that he rode that gravy train. Hollywood isn't interested in art or Rock'n'Roll singers, it's only interested in money. Can you imagine anyone signing up four years in advance now? with no say in the script? Elvis and the Colonel made a lot of money in Hollywood, but Elvis was an artist. One of the reasons Elvis isn't always taken seriously by young people today is those movies. I get the feeling that Elvis, in this interview, knew that they were not a good part of his legacy. Yes there were some good ones, but not enough. The interviewer tried to talk about the better ones, like Jailhouse Rock, but Elvis brought it back to the duds. It's like he wanted to get it off his chest.
I have read from several sources that Elvis wanted to get out of these contracts but the colonel said "you do them or you won' do anything". Elvis was 'self' educated and was continually reading but he did not have direction in finances, although he had accountants his dad didn't trust them, lots of people in that era didn't, they had just seen everything go down the drain in the depression, It was just different time back then, you had to be there. Records were just beginning to market and TV was a 9x9 black and white screen. 3 channels. His mobile phone, of which there were very few was the size of a suitcase. I was raised on a farm, when WWII began one got a map out to look up where Japan was. Most people were dirt farmers, that's when young men went to Paris as they say and you couldn't get them back on the farm.
Violet Eubank I understand and appreciate why he did those movies, Elvis always thought (or feared) that one day he would stop being popular, and not sell as he once did. I'm sure he was happy to 'feather his nest'. We would all do the same; and given his start in life no one will blame him. I'm sure that the Colonel was very persuasive also. It was fun for a while, but to paraphrase Jerry Schilling 'You can't keep a genius in a box'. Selling out always damages someones integrity.
Antony W Shaw Those who are genius, and I believe him to be, are not balanced in that genius. Most excel at one thing but lack balance in the other parts of their lives. Like Einstein, it is close to what we call insanity. Elvis exhibited those characteristics, some said he was getting more like Howard Hughes all the time and he admired Hughes. When I watch his movies taken from the stage I marvel at what he could do. This is a man with no formal training of any kind save karate, perhaps that put a finer touch to his movements, I don't know. I watch other performers and even with all the training, others who lay out their show for them, can't make it like he did. He absolutely amazes me. My mother had a 6th grade education but she was probably the most intelligent person I ever knew. She raised a big family, was a mid wife, she later ran her own business. She too amazed me, kept going till she was 92. You wonder where they get it. I in my own life can't understand how I have lived it. Sometimes I think I just faked it, I don't think I am all that smart.
Found it facinating when they asked Elvis about why he doesn't do the same moves as in the 50's. He said, "I learned better." Unfortunately, he didn't open up about many of these subjects. The style of music changed somewhat, the wardrobe and the delivery. He, however, didn't change as much as many believe. You can tell the way he talks about people and the relationships he made and established over the years
I’ve watched tons of videos on Elvis and this interview is by far the most introspective and my favorite. Elvis was void of any ego whatsoever. Sick a wonderful human being.
I wish someone had a recording of him doing the sermons from the Bible in his living room at Graceland. They say the girls didn’t care what he was saying they just wanted to hear his voice. I think that’s how most everyone was.
He felt a responsible to his fans but also to all the people who worked for him. He couldn’t have stopped or retired with so many depending on him. It’s a merry go round and you can’t get off the ride. Extremely difficult on his voice, his emotional health and his physical endurance. He gave all he had and then laid his body down.
I’m listening to this extraordinary man and I hear just a regular guy having a conversation and you cannot detect a huge ego. There isn’t. Yet he was the most special in so many ways... I miss this guy..
Probably the best Elvis interview I've heard ever and been a fan since the 70's as a boy. The timing of the interview was so good as well, as E was just into the Las Vegas years before he passed in '77, as we all know. Thanks for sharing. Hope there are more gems like that to enjoy.
I wish he has the opportunity to tour outside the United States like Europe or Japan. I can’t believe his manager gets 50% of his hard work. I think he was so depressed when he lost his mom and plus his divorce. I believe he really loves Priscilla deeply.
He didn't love Priscilla very deeply. He was trapped by her, her parents and Tom Parker. Elvis called Priscilla a sewerrat on the day he got married. Parker and Priscilla are the deadly parasites that killed Elvis Presley at the age of 42!
No one could sing like Elvis. But no one could talk like him either! He had that so special voice no matter ❤️ He had a little problem with stubborn, and it makes his way of talking even more charming and pure Elvis. How I love to hear his voice, talking singing ❤️ And then his laughter! He had a way to laugh while he was breathing in from time to time.
I LOVE listening to Elvis’ gentle voice. I fell in love with his voice before I knew who he was and that was in 1956 when I heard Don’t Be Cruel for the first time on the radio. Loved him so much since and will forever. RIP Elvis you will always be loved and never forgotten!!
I was in the middle of a comment when something stopped my tablet. I read this for the first time yesterday. I thought about it all night. I don't usually make comments. However there was a lady that talked about Elvis's use of drugs. We knew. He was a beautiful person with a voice like no other. Elvis didn't invent drugs he just got caught up in them. Just like many others in show business. We loved him enough fo hope and pray he would get help. His love of gospel music was outstanding and no one could ever sing it like him or never will. Every one has the right to their opinions, that's the American. Everyone has demons of there own. Let's get back to having compassion for the faults of others. God gave us Elvis to enjoy his beautiful voice his beautiful smile and a amazing laugh like no other. He took Elvis from us because he knew he needed help thar nobody else could help him.He took him because he knew Elvis was growing tored and weary. He now sings with the Angels and what a beautiful addition to God's choir. Please people we are all brothers and sisters and God's children no matter what our believes or the color of our skin. Elvis has been gone for 43 years please let him rest in peace in the arms of our Saviour and the warmth of his Mother's love once again.
Interesting that he states that he was 8 years old and wore glasses when he entered that talent contest. Years ago that photo surfaced and no one could remember Elvis wearing glasses. Thanks for posting this interview.
waffenevolutionss Another reason that he wore sunglasses were to protect his eyes from fans who reached for him. And for the same reasons most of us do. But Elvis could design his and have dozens of them!
+waffenevolutionss i also heard that with the glaucoma, he was told he had to wear glasses. there are a few pictures with glasses on, and the caption says "yes this is elvis'. he decided to get get prescription sunglasses
Elvis is very laid back, funny, intelligent and soft spoken. As to religious views, Elvis would have said, I am sure, the same thing he said as to politics. That everyone has their own particular view and that he would probably rather not comment on that. Though he would have most likely certainly professed his belief in God and the Kingdom of Heaven such as when he talked about it during his speech when honored as one of America's Ten Outstanding Young Men.
I'm sure you are right Christopher when you say Elvis would rather not comment on his religious beliefs but would have been happy to confess his love of The Lord. I think in many ways Elvis was a very private person who lived a lot of his life in the spotlight. I expect he would have been amazed to think 39 after his untimely passing he would still be as popular as he is with a triple platinum album selling over a million copies in the UK. You have to take your hat off to Priscilla for allowing that album to be made can't wait for the Gospel album scheduled for release next year again with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. Love Elvis 🇬🇧💜🇺🇸
yvonne hart Didn't know about the gospel album, but thanks!!! I only hope they promote that better in the U.S. Elvis' How Great Thou Art album from 1967, I believe, is still his greatest work. God bless you!
I still watch all of Elvis movies so much sometimes I would watch it Over again. I just wish I could have saw him in person. But I was fairly young, and I never had enough money because I had 2 babies by the time I turned 20. And I raised them mostly on my own. But I grew up with Elvis Music and Movies from early sixties. I was born in 1954.
He has the most beautiful voice, both speaking or singing. His voice is indeed special. Everything about Elvis shows what a gentle soul he is. 💝
Yeah the tone and style of him talking is so soothing.Bless him.
Gentle.. he was a gentle gentleman.. ❤
His sincerity is very welcoming. His politeness was never diminished. His demeanor is extremely relaxing. He simply was one of a kind.
Absolutely
For sure..
*A side of Elvis professionally was revealed in this interview.*
He never got past being the sweet southern gentleman. I’m sure his mom taught him to always be polite.
He did say one time Thats it ok to have the fans tear his shirt off his back cause they are the ones who put it there.
When he died , a part of us died with him .
well said
What you wrote is completely right.I agree with you and we must not forget him.
Very well said:)
What was really cool about him was he seldom if ever spoke badly about anyone.
He may have been born a poor boy from MS, but he had class.
This is the first actual interview of Elvis I have ever heard. The rest of the interviews have always been with the press. It's nice to hear it.
Then listen to the 1962 Interview.
Elvis is very thoughtful there.
Here he's a bit introverted, maybe because he's not familiar with the Interviewers. Its from the "Elvis on Tour" Movie where some Talking is used between the Songs.
I believe this interview was by the director or crew of The Elvis on Tour film
Friday a week ago I went to the Elvis movie for the 3rd time with my daughter here in Auckland NZ. As we were leaving we bumped into an American couple who have been living here 40 years. It turns out the husband was a film editor on the Elvis on Tour film in 1972!

The thing overlooked by almost everyone is that Elvis was a musical genius
That fact is not overlooked by me!
No he wasn't. He didn't write or compose music and he only knew 3 chords on the guitar. He was a good singer.
J Pep 2 billion sold ... 93 gold albums ya ok sure right ah huh ok 👌 jeez
Legend!!!!
Most stars seem to forget why they're popular and richer now. They walk right by fan lines like they're too busy.
@@Cdnl4927 exactly right
I don’t think he ever really had any idea of the true extent of his talent and how amazing and influential his gift was to future generations of musicians and singers. I love that bit in the interview where he says he was not even aware of what his body was doing, the music just took over him. Seems like deep down he was a very shy, spiritual and humble man. God bless you Mr. Presley ❤️
A real Capricorn
He was a gift that kept on giving!
@@joannemcclure3546 It’s just so utterly tragic how it all ended for him, but there had never been anyone like him before so there was no blueprint for him to follow. Must’ve been hard living up to being Elvis Presley 24/7 😢
Nor do I think that the world realized at that time, the full extent and legacy he would leave behind.
+Tony Trout don't believe the Memphis Mafia.. They are all liars.. Elvis didn't not abuse drugs.. He took prescription for health reasons
YES!!

The honesty is so beautiful. I wish he had the courage to follow his feelings particularly about his movie career.

Never heard the longer interview. Very interesting and Elvis comes across as not only intelligent but humble.
Anyone who thinks Elvis was a Yokel doesn't anything about Elvis Presley.
What a great interview. Elvis is so sincere and humble. I can't imagine what it would be like not to be able to listen to his music and I love hearing him talk. He sounds as good talking as he does singing. Still humble after becoming such a Legend. He is incredible and I love him still.
Again I just love listening to Elvis talk................
Me gusta desde siempre no ha habido otro igual 🌹🌹🌹✌
Janice Lyons ..me too. I come back to this interview every couple months. I sure do love that man. Me and many millions like me. ❤️
What an extraordinary find! I’ve never heard Elvis speak about his career in this way. Thank you for uploading.
I’m glad so many people are delving into his life and career beyond the Las Vegas image, due to the new film.
Yes it's lovely to hear Elvis speaking
listen to what Elvis says, it was natural for him, didn't know what he did to make the girls scream...not rehearsed, not practiced...just pure raw talent...the thing legends are made of....or as they say now the "IT" factor...
This is so precious! I always listen so attentively, because I don't want to miss a single word he says. 🙂

I’ve listened to this several times and never tire of it. He is so pleasing to listen to!
thank you so much for your channel!! as a member of Gen-Z who learned about Elvis' legacy through the recent movie from Baz Luhrman, I deeply appreciate being able to hear about his life from his perspective. he was such an important figure in American history and I am glad that I can appreciate his music and contributions all these years later!
May I suggest that you avail yourself of all the authentic footage. No actor can portray Elvis Presley on any level (talent, charisma, looks, physical size, etc.)
You should take a look at the singer special in 1968, so good.

He certainly wasnt full of pillls here---------he is perfectly natural------------great interview

Good to see so many comments for this particular interview with Elvis. It is indeed one of the most intimate one he ever gave, very revealing and very honest, and it deserves to be seen (or rather, heard) - such a shame they didn't use more of it for EOT.
Some people have commented that there's footage of the interview but this is not the case - that would be a different, shorter one Pierre & Robert did with Elvis a few months earlier which can be found here --> ua-cam.com/video/H0QXSMgssCU/v-deo.html

The best interview I have ever heard from Elvis. The interviewer ask very enlightened questions. I felt like I was right in the room.

This is his best interview, of his last 5 years.
The posted photos are a fave. The pic's are
at his Hillcrest home in L.A. He looks great, wearing jeans, as he was rarely seen wearing. This was a year, as you can imagine, like many of his, carrying the weight

until his last days on this earth.

You can tell the way he talks about people and the relationships he made and established over the years
Good ole country boy. Love this man and his pure raw talent..REST WELL.
Spell binding. What a lovely guy.
I’ve watched tons of videos on Elvis and this interview is by far the most introspective and my favorite. Elvis was void of any ego whatsoever. Sick a wonderful human being.
He sounds so tired and sad he was so wonderful to everyone around him especially his fans💝👼🏼😪❤️
sounds like he s strung out.
@@kazfleszar5899 especially at that last concert. alllllblum, is it out? Made me laugh. He was higher than a kite at that one.
hahhaha which one is that poor sohl.
I wish someone had a recording of him doing the sermons from the Bible in his living room at Graceland. They say the girls didn’t care what he was saying they just wanted to hear his voice. I think that’s how most everyone was.
yes it was his personality which attracted people he was beyond being an artist.

What an absolute gem to find. His voice is like warm honey 🥰💜
I can listen to his voice day and night.
I could listen to him all day. His voice is so soothing ❤️❤️❤️
What a blessing and gift to could listen to His sweet voice and laugh! Thank you so much for sharing! :))
How wonderful it would have been just to sit and talk to Elvis and what a bonus to hear that beautiful laugh
People would have been overwhelmed to be in his company.
The only voice that could rock my cradle then rock my world!
His laughter touches my heart like no other.
Refreshing to hear something you haven't heard before.
I believe Bono said he wears sunglasses for glaucoma, too.
Oh my Elvis, you've done a lot good 👍 things. Well done 👍. I love the way you reply to all the questions. And I love you ❤.
I just love listening to elvis talk he so gorgeous ☓ 💜 ❤️
I still watch all of Elvis movies so much sometimes I would watch it Over again. I just wish I could have saw him in person. But I was fairly young, and I never had enough money because I had 2 babies by the time I turned 20. And I raised them mostly on my own. But I grew up with Elvis Music and Movies from early sixties. I was born in 1954.
I’ve never heard this before. This is gold!
