If Elvis was not so strikingly Handsome, he would not have had so many attacking him for the way he moved, danced, etc. These guys could not handle seeing the females in their lives so enthusiastic about Elvis. All driven by jealousy they tried to attack his morals.

Presley's tolerance and intelligence in handling a total ass of an interviewer is commendable and admirable. Elvis was a much smarter man than he was given credit for.

I'll tell you what... After listening to this interview, if one doesn't realize how smart and matured Elvis was at just 21 years old then I think there's no help for your perception. Tell me someone anywhere with just 1.5 years in the business who can be so clear thinking and I'll be very surprised. He is just so ahead of his time it's truly amazing.

I'm so glad our beloved Elvis didn't let that ole fuddy duddy affect him.
He was confident in himself at such a young age.
He was timeless, talented, and wise.
He could just let those ridiculous insults slide.
He was very polite and gracious, always.
We fans are proud of him.

This interview proves beyond a shadow of any doubt that Elvis was one of the most kind human beings that have ever walked this earth. Of all the things he could have replied with, instead of sticking up for himself, he immediately defended his fans. TRUE CLASS! Class is not determined by how you dance, it’s how you treat people, and handle yourself!!! Elvis died before I was born, and oh how I wish I could have known him...maybe in heaven one day!!

Elvis Presley broke glass with his style, honesty and damn good looks. He was a very smart man and if he listened to all these negative critics he would not have been the star he is today. Elvis knew what and where he wanted to go. His music and great great talent will never be forgotten. As once said nothing before him and nothing since.

Wow, 21 years of age, and the maturity, level headedness and utmost humility heard in this interview is immeasurable.
That interviewer was trying to provoke Elvis more and more with each of his innane questions , Elvis one step ahead at all times.
How on earth Elvis kept his cool, when that horrid man mentioned his church upbringing, taunting him almost, Elvis quick to defend and proud to hon our His roots and his beloved gospel / spiritual singing.
As for some of the other questions, concerning his stage presence and the influence on the girls, answered with great aplomb I thought, as were all the ridiculous questions put to him.
As always Elvis,s impeccable manners, were evident throughout as was the mature way he handled the interviewer, who was biting at the bit for Elvis to stumble.
Throughout this career he always handled the press well, being both courteous and honest, its quite apparent from day one he's had obstacles and frustrations to overcome whilst remaining his integrity.
His gratitude and defense of his fans spills over in this interview.
To think this was all before His fame ate him up and spat him out.

Boy ....were they wrong about Elvis. People still love him , including myself. He was so young in this interview. I remember living in Lakeland Florida when I was a little girl. We didn't live there long . My dad's brother and his family moved down there from Ga. , but they stayed there . My uncle Billy had a mechanic shop and he had a used Mercedes car lot . But this was back in the 70's. I don't know when my uncle Billy and his family moved down there. That was a different time back in the 50's . But I love listening to Elvis in these interviews . He probably hated them , but he sounded like he was just telling them like it was. He was trying to be honest and he wasn't trying to make them mad . I'm sure Elvis was raised to have manors no matter what . I bet after a few years went by ...I bet he didn't take nothing off nobody . This is such a big part of his history though and I love it . Glad I came across this.

You are correct in what you say here. I’m guilty of watching interviews with people from every angle. “I dated Elvis” or “I was Elvis’ cook” or “I was One of Elvis’ pilots” and “I was a neighborhood friend growing up” pretty much the list you provided but I just listed off real interviews I’ve watched over the last 5-6 weeks. I have a habit of choosing someone from the past that I’ve admired and seek out everything that I can find on them. I recently did that with Evel Knievel and even for Frank Lloyd Wright the world’s best architect. I just totally Immerse Myself in a subject. Born in 65’ I was 10-11-12 years old when I loved Elvis & Evel. They both wore White leather jumpsuits LOL. As a boy I thought that they both were real life super hero’s.

I love the fact that there was one grey haired lady (17:50) jumping up and down clapping for Elvis.

I got to tell you I have never heard some of these early interviews with Elvis Presley but man oh man for somebody that just has a high school education he was f****** f****** smart Beyond a ba degree! This man had intelligence, wisdom and a heart of gold and a blessing from god! End of story end of story and nobody will ever ever be able to convince me that this is not true!

Elvis has good taste in music. I played with PINK CADILLAC, an oldies band. About every 3rd song was an Elvis song. Whenever people stopped dancing, we did an Elvis song. BOOM, everybody started dancing. Chuck Berry & Jerry Lee Lewis & Gene Vincent had the same reaction.

Elvis knew that his fan's were what was keeping him going. I love everything about him. Who said Elvis can't sing? He sang from his heart until he couldn't sing anymore, he contributed so much to the music industry, not just for himself but for other entertainer's too. He never put himself above anyone and that's what set's him apart and make's him so special. We still love Elvis and alway's will.❤❤❤❤❤❤

Haha omg. He could play the guitar and he could sing. Man he could sing. He sang songs that ment something. He felt the songs and he danced to them. When you feel a song you dance to it. Like the music makes you feel free ot it makes you feel free. . I think elvis just moved what he felt. I thank that came from what he felt.

Elvis knew all that BS that man said about him was just that BS and I never heard this before but it really makes me sick that someone would say something about him especially since we know now it was innocent music compared to most everything that came after, Elvis was a good boy and he sure did handle it very good and mature way more mature than the guy or guy's that said all that crap I grew up listening to Elvis and he was a big part of my childhood in the 60's matter of fact the first record I ever bought was Elvis's Elvis loved God his family, and his country, an I say damned anyone that say he didn't.

Elvis handeled himself with class and dignity throughout the interview with this insufferable ass. He was only 21 at the time and showed a maturity beyond his years. He was always a gentleman and quick to defend his fans. Loved the man and his beautiful soul. This is why he is the KING.

This reporter has a pleasant demeanor but words his questions in such a way that he acts if he's giving Elvis just enough rope to hang himself, or is waiting for Elvis to put his foot in his mouth, but Elvis is so humble and genuine that the reporter starts to appear to be the one starting to hang himself, asking questions such as, "are most the girls at your shows blondes? It seems to me most of them are bleach blondes." Really, this is a question from a leading magazine reporter of the time from TV guide.... Maybe people can see some of the push back he was getting here at the start of his career. This is nothing compared to the bad stuff he dealt with however.
