Shuttle Tatting - Dead End Chain

Most patterns begin with a ring; but there are times when we need to start our work with a chain. This is where we would use a 'Dead End Chain'.

I have a recommendation for a video I’d love to see some hints for. I’m not sure what’s its called but you make a ring with a small picot in the middle (or top) than make a chain around half of it and lock join the chain to the small picot on the end. So the chain wraps around one side of the ring. Its hard to make them all neat especially if you have one after another in the row. or which is better the up join or down join. or if it goes into a chain after etc. Thanks.

I know the technique you are referring to...but I'm not actually sure if it has a name! While it's not a video specifically for this technique, My Veronica Doily tat a long shows how to do this. I hope you find it helpful.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊 The volume is actually quite loud when I do the editing of the video, I'm wondering if your computer volume is too low? I will try to increase it a bit for the next one, I'm just worried about making it too loud and blasting people's ears!😆
