I have been tatting for almost 30 years and consider myself an advanced tatter. In the past several months, I have posted tutorials for the beginner. In a recent exchange with a viewer, I made the comment that every person learns differently (and teaches differently). Opening rings is one of those skills I consider to be an intermediate skill, or at least, I did before watching your video here. THANK YOU so much for your crystal clear explanation of how to do this. I am a very tight tatter, so I try very hard not to make mistakes in my work, just so I won't have to open rings!!! Now I don't have to worry about that! Thank you! Your videos are very helpful, to the beginner and to those who have been tatting for decades. 🙂

You are SO right - everyone learns differently, and as tatters we all have different preferences. Something I try to remind people of. Just because it works for one person doesn't mean it's going to suit everyone. I'm happy my video helped you.🙂

Yes, you just need to be gentle and don't tat too tightly...and be really careful when you pull! 🤣 I'm so pleased you're enjoying the videos, thank you!
