Tatting - Starting on a Chain

  • Here is a video demonstrating how to start tatting with a chain. I think this is a great way to do this: it doesn't require the help of a paperclip and in fact I find this makes a better little starting loop to join back to, which lies nicely in line with the rest of your stitches.

    Thank you for such great tutorials! I am totally new to tatting and still trying to collect what I'll need to start. I just love the shuttles you are using, may I ask where you purchased them? 😊

      You're welcome! I love this technique and use it all the time. No need for paperclips and it looks even nicer done that way than with a paperclip. :-)

      Hi Shari, thank you for your comment, glad you found the video helpful. As for my nails, again thank you, I always do them myself and these were a sponge gradient with a stamped overlay design.

      Hi Noni, they are only available in my shop. I've just added two new ones tonight and I'm always making more... but they often sell quickly! :-)
