Hearing you girls talk about being grateful for what your bodies can do really touched me today. I am in the process of getting a diagnosis that drastically changes the ways I’m able to do things, but I still CAN do things. Yes take in the moments. I am a mid forties gal and this was so sweet to listen to. I have so many fond memories of my 20's pre kid time, and my 30's with my girlies and early motherhood. Now in my forties as I am nearing the part of motherhood where my oldest leaves is bitter sweet. Hang on to the moments. Friends you love will one day move away or pass away. Your kids will grow up and move away. Things change so much faster than you think. The days are long and the years are short. Hold on to the moments. Take the photos and videos of all of your loved one. Tell them you love them.

I love you guys and this podcast so much! I never comment but I’ve been watching sierra since middle school and she is so much of the reason why I got out of disordered eating habits and learned to love my body. I’m now a senior in high school about to turn 18 and this video in particular meant so much to me. Especially the part talking about cringe, because I have had to let go of a lot of people who used cringe as a way to hurt especially once I found out I was autistic and began to stop masking. All of this to say that you three are really making a difference to people and I’m happy in myself because of the positivity and love you give.

    Ooooo I have two.
    1. Everyone posts the positive high lights of their life on social media. Rarely do they post their lows, insecurities, or set backs. When you feel like everyone is "ahead" just remember that we are all struggling with something and just like you didn't post about not getting into your dream school, someone else may not be posting about their dream internship.
    2. Live for you - not for the Gram. Live life to bring you joy, excitement and not for the number of likes you recieve on social media. And remember that it's ok to keep somethings just for you. Actually, undersharing is preferable because then you genuinely have something to talk about the next time you see someone in person.

    Sierra,
I hope this doesn’t come off wrong, but I think a LOT of people would benefit from hearing your opinions on God/religion. I know I would because you sound exactly how I feel. I think us younger people need to speak up about it because we were raised in a time where “religion” was what was followed, but now we just want “relationship”.

When Jess said that rest is hard as a people pleaser because it is one of the things you cannot do for anyone else I felt called out but needed to hear that. Being able to put yourself first and listen to your body and mind is definitely a lesson I am still working on in my early 30s. And it is something I will continue to work on for the rest of my life because I deserve to have a day off to recharge and not feel guilty. I deserve to feel worthy enough to take a break. I love these poignant conversations that make you think and make you reevaluate. So looking forward to more here in 2023!

This was a fantastic episode!! I’m the same age as you all, so it’s a nice moment of reflection to look back at how crazy my 20s have been and how far I’ve come and how far I have to go. My acceptance for my body only came about because of watching Sierra for the last 6 years!!
One of the things I’ve learnt over the years is that life isn’t short - it’s the longest thing you’ll ever do. It helps me to remember that I have time and I don’t have to cram a whole lifetime into my 20s because my life is then over. It’s hard for me because I also catastrophise and say “WELL I COULD DIE TOMORROW”, but life was still the longest thing I ever did 😅 and be okay with yourself because you have to live with yourself the longest (which you guys did talk about). Anyway, off to be sentimental and existential 😂❤

Manifesting 100K for you ladies and more!! You deserve all the opportunities and success!! I'm also in a huge manifestation period for myself. I opened my own business that isn't self sustaining yet so I have to work a night job in addition to working all day at my business and I'm tired. But manifesting success and being able to quit my second job soon! All the positive vibes and abundance to us. 🥰
Totally loved Sierra's comment that something good could be happening outside your control. Hit me like a bus cuz I also try to control everything!
Also Riayn, girl, when you said when you go home and just show a little bit more of yourself every time. 🙌🏽 I am in the situation Sierra mentioned where I'm completely different than the image I present for my family and it SUCKS! I hate it. I've talked about this so much in therapy. But I have started showing little bits and, well it's never well received - my family is extremely judgemental and don't think you should ever change your opinion on things. But I do what I can, acknowledge I can't change them, that's not my responsibility, and just got to another room if they're making me uncomfortable.
And to end my long comment 😅, right now I was listening to this at my 2nd job as a custodian so I'm feeling itchy pants, smelling cleaner, and hearing the keys jingle on my belt. 😆 But soon I'll be able to leave. MANIFESTING!! ❤

You are 100% correct when you say that to be a Christian you don't need to be a part of an organized religion... you don't need to go to church... you are still a Christian. That being said, there are also dozens and dozens of different types of organized Christian religion... it's not Catholic or nothing. There are tons of different synods and churches that believe exactly what you're saying.. that all are welcome.. that there aren't "rules"... that we just need to love God and love others. I encourage you to check out another TYPE of church.. non-denominational, Free churches, Lutheran churches, lots of protestant churches believe those things. I've been raised ELCA Lutheran my whole life... woman can be pastors, LGBTQ are openly welcome, ALL are welcome who believe in God no matter who you are. Just remember... it's not Catholic or nothing... there are churches that believe exactly what you're saying you believe...

Also a special thank you for your honest and candid comments re: belief. I have very similar views (liberal/progressive) and it’s so comforting to know that I am not alone in that. Sometimes it feels like you don’t fit with the “group” - but ultimately it’s not ABOUT that. So good!

I’m not in my 20s yet but something I learned within the past few years is “your hobbies/interests are for your enjoyment. Don’t fear how your perceived or base your value on the things you enjoy” for example I love muppets, puppetry is one of my favorite things and I watch children’s puppetry shows quite often. I was always embarrassed to admit that I’d watch shows like Bear in the Big Blue House and Sesame Street as an older teen/adult because of how I would be perceived, but within the past year, I’ve gained a “who gives a fuck” mentality. It’s something that makes me happy, it’s something that is a big and important part of my life and has honestly helped me form my personality, and if other people think that’s childish or stupid, who gives a fuck?! It makes me happy, and that’s all that matters. Coloring? Makes me happy. You don’t like it? You think it’s dumb? Who gives a fuck?! My life my rules my happiness. Point blank period.

Sierra, thank you for what you said about religion. I’ve always struggled with the dichotomy of myself- Loving science, religion, gay & women’s rights

as an agnostic believer who was raised in a devoted Christian household (Australian)- I just wanted to say that I really appreciated the way you all discussed and conversed about your religious beliefs. I can find it to be uncomfortable majority of the time when religion is mentioned in the media I consume (on instagram/youtube etc) but I did not feel that in any way when I listened to this podcast. Although we follow different faiths, I do not feel as though that is something that has excluded me from relating to your experiences or is excluding me from the content. I just had to point out that I think this was done really well :)

I completely agree with the religion one. In this past year I have grown so much closer to god but it look’s completely different then it used to when I went to church every week and did “typical” Christian things. I know that my relationship with god is special and that I love him and he loves me and that is exactly that! I don’t need to prove my love by going to church!

The beginning don’t let your boyfriend stop you from finding your husband. I feel that on a person level. I met my husband my senior year of high school he was a junior. I was dating a friend from middle school and befriended my husband. Me and the guy broke up we were compatible friends but not romantic. Well semi shortly after the break up my husband and I started dating. DON’T LET YOUR BOYFRIEND STOP YOU FROM FINDING YOUR HUSBAND.❤❤❤

The religion talk hit me hard! I’ve grown up in the Baptist church as well as the Pentecostal church, and I’ve battled for years trying to decide if I believe in God or not. Mainly due to childhood trauma, I’ve converted to eclectic paganism because their beliefs alogn much better with my personal beliefs.
