I really love it when someone doesn't know they are a cappella when they watch them the first time. Especially when it's this song they start with. The dawning realization is always entertaining!
Same here bro I always laugh when someone new or never heard a cappella music the first time HomeFree is my favourite country a cappella band in the world ❤️🙏🏼☺️ there music makes me happy 😊
Of all the a cappella groups, Home Free is the hardest to tell that their are no instruments. The beatboxer, Adam Rupp can also mimic damn near any sound or instrument.
@@gr8things2See he does it live with no harmonica.... he knows how to play the drums but does that without a drum set for their performances it isn't real a capella if you use an actual instrument other then your own voice/mouth
Imagine seeing, and hearing, it live 😁 Welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole! They all sing, although the vocal percussionist, Adam Rupp, mostly sing harmonies when he sings. Most of the time, though, he's just a great of nature sounding like a drum set and I whole bunch of other sounds. You will notice just how unique these guys are as you go dive in to it, but in truth I don't think anyone is able to fully comprehend it. Great reaction!
as far as strange noises from peoples mouths go, the level of beatboxing now is insane. GBB Loopstation Battles are a good place to see some wild things.
Welcome to the best, deepest rabbit hole you will find. Home Free is the only country all-vocal band out there. Front row, left to right: Rob Lundquist - lead tenor, Austin Brown - high tenor, Tim Foust - bass. Back row, l-r: Adam Chance - baritone/bass (was doing the mouth harp sound in this song also), and Adam Rupp - beatboxer and freak of nature. Their harmonies are just superb, and yes, all sounds made by the human voice/mouth. I would recommend checking out the Johnny Cash covers of "Ring of Fire," and "Folsom Prison Blues." For perfect 5-part harmonies, "How Great Thou Art," and "Helplessly Hoping." And although they do mostly country, they don't stick to just one style. You'd enjoy their cover of Boys II Men "End of the Road." And to see their fun side, you gotta see "Butts Remix," and "Hillbilly Bone." Thanks for the reaction! Enjoy the Home Free ride, man!
Now you've done it. Welcome young Home Fry, nice to have ya join us. Fave quote, "That's not no normal beatboxing" Nope, definitely not normal. But truly, they're ALL freaks, you'll see.
This has been the best reaction I've ever seen from a first view of Home Free! YES....every sound is made vocally. If you want to see what Adam Rupp can do, look for his drum solo. And welcome to the Home Fries! (fans of Home Free)
There are several drum solo video out now. Another one just dropped a week or so ago. A lot of them are coming off the current tour, Dive Bar Saints, they're on now. I suggest watching the first one from 2015 where Adam is wearing the red plaid shirt, then the ones from 2021 and 2022 to see how much he's changed and improved upon perfection. They may be the same basic routine but the different venues, lighting, camera angles, crowd responses make each one unique.
Yes, we Fries are very loyal to our guys. I've been to MANY concerts in my lifetime, starting way back in the 1970's. Truthfully, Home Free is by far the most amazing concert I've ever attended! I've followed them through several states and many shows and it gets better each time! I've loved them since "The Sing Off" in 2013. I promise, you will be blown away repeatedly! Welcome to the wonderful world of the best a Cappella group, ever!❤ That is my opinion. (I love Voiceplay, too!) 💜 I hit that Sub button and I'm looking forward to tagging along on your Home Free journey! 😁👍
They can all make sounds....Tim Foust (the bass) perfectly mimics bass guitars (Kind of a given there) Austin Brown (High Tenor in the hat and vest) can mimic harmonica as well, which he does in live shows. Adam Chance (baritone/bass) makes that mouth harp sound (he does loop it for live performances because it hurts his throat after a while) Rob Lundquist (lead tenor - glasses and overalls) does the record scratch you heard. All other sounds you heard from the cicadas to the woodpeckers as well as the beat boxing was done by Adam Rupp. (Edited to remove incorrect information) I believe out of all their songs, only one (and that one very recent) has an instrument in it and that one only has one. To start, video wise after this, I would watch "Ring of Fire". They are joined by Avi Kaplan, former bass singer for the Pentatonix and one of their earlier ones. (You may notice a different person in that one and that would be Chris Rupp, Adam's brother, who left the group to pursue a solo career a few years back.) They have a great sense of humor which comes out in some of their videos so make sure once you are ready, to check out the "Butts Medley/Remix", "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget" (written by Tim) and "All About that Bass" just to name a few. I have yet to find a bad one! Once you are familiar with their names and typical voices, check out "Mayday" and "American Pie with Don McClean" Oh and somewhere in there watch the Adam Rupp Drum Solo....then you can really see what he can do sound wise. Have fun and believe me when I say you are not alone in this rabbit hole.

That reaction you had for Tim really got me laughing!! Thank you for a good reaction. It is fun to watch you react to your very first "Home Free" as you still sink deeper into the rabbit hole they opened for you.
Proper first time reaction to Home Free. You tend to get used to the amazing talent every member has and sit back and start to appreciate the production and arrangements they create. Dive deep and bring scuba gear cuz they have a catalog that the Beatles would envy.
Welcome to the wonderful and amazing world of acapella. We call ourselves Home Fries and are loyal followers of Home Free. The more you listen to these guys, the more you appreciate their artistry and talent. Have fun.
OH my, your facial expressions were worth the price of admission all by themselves. Welcome to the Acapella Wabbit Hole and you haven't even got your tootsies wet yet. The lead singer will depend on what the particular song requires. If you made it through the initial shock and are ready for some belly laughs and limbering up your giggle box, give Home Free's Butts Remix a spin. Enjoy :)
Ok I won't tell you, lol they are!! Yep, they're unique & talented. Absolutely love these guys. You haven't seen/heard anything yet. Lol Akita, 🇺🇸 lady
Love Home Free yes all Acapella, check out Can't Stop The Feeling, Folsom Prison Blues, Down To The Honky Tonk, or Meeting In The Middle for starters and check out Adam Rupps Drum solos from a concert Home Free won 4th season of the Sing Off show that was back in 2013or 2014 they have sung with Kenny Rogers, the Oak Ridge Boys, Lee Greenwood, Alabama, and Don Mclean, they have a large following .
No, that's not no normal beat boxing. Adam Rupp is not human. He's an alien. He doesn't talk, he communicates in sound effects, mimicking just about anything. The other guys can understand him. Since they could sing they decided to use him for their percussion effects. You know, it's not just the drums and sound effects that's important here, the harmony blend of the voices is marvelous as well. These acapella groups pride themselves on being pure acapella. If they use an instrument they put it in view so you know it. They use a little microphone manipulation to get the reverb and echo, and on some they multi-track (sing it once, then sing it again in another octave and lay one track over the other) but 99% of it is just what their voices sound like singing in the bathtub. Even the crickets.
They are an a cappella group, fabulous. A few songs: When a man loves a woman (when covid started), How great thou art, Mayday, God bless the USA, Remember this & more!!
And...another one falls down the rabbit hole. You are so fucking doomed. We'll save you a chair. You're about to be drowned in Home Fries. Home Free is the only country a capella group out there, but they can - and do - sing every genre. And they have no lead singer. Every one of these men can take the lead, and they pick the lead for each song by who does it the most justice. During quarantine, they kept all us Home Fries sane by dropping new videos every couple of weeks. Amazing. All the men can beat box, but Adam is in a league of his own. He's a two-time world champion and there're good reasons he's called a "Freak of Nature" and the man who swallowed a drum kit. For more of Adam's incredible beat boxing, check out Sea Shanty medley (the man makes castanets, for Pete's sake), his no-harmonica harmonica solo on Working For A Living, and his drum solos. For more of Tim's seismic basso profundo, listen to Brothers In Arms, Misty Mountains (his collaboration with Peter Hollens), Folsom Prison Blues, or Ring Of Fire (the Sing Off version). For Chance's smooth baritone, check out Down to the Honky Tonk, Brothers In Arms, and Folsom Prison Blues. (Awesome. A basso profundo and a baritone/bass in the same group.) FYI, Chance is singing the jaw harp sounds - without the jaw harp - in Man Of Constant Sorrow. For Rob's smooth soul, check out End of the Road, Blue Ain't Your Color, or Bless The Broken Road. (Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.) For Austin's soaring tenor, check out Moonshine or When A Man Loves a Woman. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.) For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.) For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne. For their mashups, check out Thinking Out Loud/Let's Get It On, Country Fried Pop, or Woman, Amen/Female. For more of their wonderful collaborations, check out God Bless the USA with Lee Greenwood, American Pie with Don McLean, Elvira with The Oak Ridge Boys, or Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For with Peter Hollens. Get at least five videos under your belt and then listen to Mayday. Their synergy is phenomenal. Each is an artist in his own right, but man - when they sing together, magic happens. Wicked talent polished by decades of hard work. (Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.” You are doomed, Home Fry. I don't know how many times I've binge watched your HF playlist but I have to say this is probably my favorite reaction to all the reactors the first time they hear HF. So glad you became a Home Fry I love your reactions.

Classic a capella music is what you're listening to. Welcome to Home Free. First time viewer, and new sub. Awesome, genuine reaction. Thank you for this!
You need to react to "Misty Mountains" by Peter Hollens featuring Tim Foust, Home Free's bass singer. It's a cover of a song from the Hobbit movie. Peter layers his voice over 120 times for a choir effect and Tim brings the earthshaking bass. It's a masterpiece!
Then you are in for a real treat.....these guys are amazing!! An a cappella group with some of the best talent out there. One of the best beatboxers on the planet. No instruments! They all have great vocals.
I keep coming back to re-watch this reaction even years later. This has to be my favorite reaction to this Home Free classic and I've seen a LOT of them! D's disbelief at there being no instruments and the sheer shock at Adam Rupp's abilities is awesome to see! All the guys are amazing in this of course, but I love the props he gave Adam. Great reaction! Keep being awesome! Cheers!
You won't find a bad video from Home Free. These guys are phenomenal. They all take turns with the lead, depending on what the song is. By the way, they dress for the part of their video and song. And yes, they make every single sound.. Continue with Home Free reactions because they have a monstrous following.
You had me stitches laugh'n watching your first homefree reaction."Get the fuk otta here ,"theres an instrament in there somewhere"Oh thats a great, typically honest reaction to homefree.WELL DONE BRO
Hi D , you are right about Adam HF´s beatboxer , but that´s the reason we call him MR. FREAK OF NATURE , actually all the guys beatbox a little , check out their cover of Dolly Parton´s --9 to 5 beatbox breakdown . That will really blow your mind
OMG!! Great reaction. I love when people hear them for the 1st time. 100% vocals here, they are amazing in everything they sing. You my friend are in for a deep dive and I can't wait for more!!
Yes, all the sounds of both the lyrics and the instruments of the song were made by those five gentlemen. Those men are: Austin Brown (first singer) Rob Lundquist (second singer/overalls) Tim Foust (bass singer) (Adam) Chance (backgroud hat/vest, Jew’s harp) Adam Rupp (drums/harmonica man) Home Free is a vocal band, a la Pentatonix, who I know you hadn’t seen at the time of recording this, but you have now. Glad you joined the Home Fries. If you’re looking for suggestions, Amazing Grace (Peter Hollens feat. Home Free) is so beautiful, as is How Great Thou Art. (I know you said there was a list buyou also said you’d be listening to more Home Free.)
Home free is all voice activated. They all can make sounds. You should see them in concert. Listen to Crazy or when a man loves a woman. Or Castle on the hill. Great live in concert.
Welcome to the rabbit hole of A Capella. Home Free, aside from their incredible talent, is one of my favorites because of their sense of humor. They don't just entertain me musically, they also crack me up. They have some videos like this and "Ring of Fire" where they play it straight, but you'll be rolling as you go through their library.
Every single sound you heard was them. They do this song in concert. They to use a looper in concert for the digereedo and a drum loop to save Chance's voice and let Rupp overdub the harmonica. But they record the loops on stage as part of the performance. Just so you see the boys sense of humor before you head down the rabbit hole, you should watch their original Champagne Taste (on a beer budget) (with a cameo by Avi Kaplan, formerly of Pentatonix) or you could watch the Butt's Remix or All About the Bass (for the most enjoyment, watch Trainor's original video first). I just realized that all of those are old enough that Chris Rupp is still with the band (he left and was succeeded by Adam Chance). Whatever else you do, resist with all your might the temptation to watch their Mayday cover until you are very familiar with the group and their voices. Mayday is an impressive feat but it's not as impressive as it should be if you can't recognize each member and know their voice before they start singing. A good selection of each member singing individually can be had watching; Auld Lang Syne, Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Some Girls Do, and Die a Happy Man.
They are an A capella group NO Instruments. You've to listen to them sing Ring if Fire ft. Avi from Pentatonic. If you want beautiful scenery and beautiful singing You should do How Great Thou Art
Home Free is an amazing group. True A Capella. They are unbelievably versatile. Their cover of Crazy by Patsy Cline is great, cover of Cam's May Day great, cover of Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues or Ring of Fire, Don McLean's American Pie, Huey Lewis' Working for A Living, and for a laugh their very own Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget. I could go on for ever on their music. Loved your reaction, look forward to your next.
You need to immediately react to Home Free, Lee Greenwood, and the Air Force Band singing "God Bless the USA" and Home Free "How Great Thou Art". These will anchor your senses for the trip down the rabbit hole. Welcome to the Home Fries Club!
I just went to my 2nd Home Free show the 7th of Dec. in Nashville Tn. They are AWESOME !!!!!! If they are not singing they are making music or sounds .

(Blue-eyed soul is in good hands with The Beard.)
For Austin's soaring tenor, check out Moonshine or When A Man Loves a Woman. (But bolt down your chair ‘cause he'll sing you right out of it.)
For their humor, check out Butts Remix, Working For A Living, and Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget.
For their amazing arrangement skills, check out Do You Hear What I Hear. (Adam's arrangement. Nothing else like it.)
For their tight harmonies, check out Helplessly Hoping, How Great Thou Art, Brothers In Arms, or Auld Lang Syne.
(Castle On The Hill, Seven Bridges Road) To paraphrase another Home Fry, “They don't just own a cover, they upgrade it.”
You are doomed, Home Fry. Bring ketchup.
I don't know how many times I've binge watched your HF playlist but I have to say this is probably my favorite reaction to all the reactors the first time they hear HF. So glad you became a Home Fry I love your reactions.
That's why Home Free are our favorite guys! Best of all time! NO INSTRUMENTS AT ALL! A CAPELLA! The beatboxer/vocal percussionist is a multiple times champion! ADAM RUPP! Check him out at
"ADAM RUPP LIVE SOLO IN CONCERT" he also sings tenor when needed for a 5 part harmony!
*Austin Brown - front middle is 1st tenor - thin with long curly reddish hair
*Rob Lundquist - front left is 2nd tenor - great beard & glasses
*Tim Foust - front right is bass - long dark hair - has a 5+ octave range from basso profunda to tenor - called the fire breathing dragon - now has short hair and letting his grey streaks show
*Adam Chance - left rear - called Chance (to differentiate from the other Adam) - baritone and sometimes bass when Tim is singing lead - short dark hair and wears baseball cap in lots of videos
*Adam Rupp - right rear - beatboxer/vocal percussionist - called the freak of nature/human drum set - co- founder of group
May I please request

D,
You now own a top 5 all-time comment for Home Free reactions.
"That's Not No Normal Beatboxing"
Truer words were never spoken.
Wonderful reaction.
Another Home Fry is born.
150+ songs in their library. The rabbit hole is deep, enjoy the ride.
Classic a capella music is what you're listening to. Welcome to Home Free. First time viewer, and new sub. Awesome, genuine reaction. Thank you for this!
Welcome Mr. Adam Rupp. Vocal percussionist.
Lol. Loved your reaction to the beat boxer. 😂😂😂😂
This is fabulous! I love seeing people's first response. So glad that you've continued down the rabbit hole.
Out of all the reaction reviews this one is the best by far. I can only like it once but I can watch it a 100 times.
Then you are in for a real treat.....these guys are amazing!! An a cappella group with some of the best talent out there. One of the best beatboxers on the planet. No instruments! They all have great vocals.
They are a100% totally acapella group..they ARE the instruments..❤❤
I keep coming back to re-watch this reaction even years later. This has to be my favorite reaction to this Home Free classic and I've seen a LOT of them! D's disbelief at there being no instruments and the sheer shock at Adam Rupp's abilities is awesome to see! All the guys are amazing in this of course, but I love the props he gave Adam. Great reaction! Keep being awesome! Cheers!
I love the surprise that they are so good. You need to listen to them doing when a man loves a woman
All from them.....welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole. Keep reacting to Home Free and their fans who are called Home Fries will come in droves
Excellent work ...woohoo!!
You won't find a bad video from Home Free. These guys are phenomenal. They all take turns with the lead, depending on what the song is. By the way, they dress for the part of their video and song. And yes, they make every single sound.. Continue with Home Free reactions because they have a monstrous following.
Definitely one of my favorite reactions to this song by them. I love them! ❤
Hahaha great reaction. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
They are amazing,...
They are fantastic!!
I laughed so hard...
Your response was so great...
No instruments...
Great reaction!! Welcome.
Welcome to Home Fry Nation!
OMG!! Great reaction. I love when people hear them for the 1st time. 100% vocals here, they are amazing in everything they sing. You my friend are in for a deep dive and I can't wait for more!!
Yes, all the sounds of both the lyrics and the instruments of the song were made by those five gentlemen.
Those men are:
Austin Brown (first singer)
Rob Lundquist (second singer/overalls)
Tim Foust (bass singer)
(Adam) Chance (backgroud hat/vest, Jew’s harp)
Adam Rupp (drums/harmonica man)
Home Free is a vocal band, a la Pentatonix, who I know you hadn’t seen at the time of recording this, but you have now.
Glad you joined the Home Fries.
If you’re looking for suggestions, Amazing Grace (Peter Hollens feat. Home Free) is so beautiful, as is How Great Thou Art. (I know you said there was a list buyou also said you’d be listening to more Home Free.)
It is so fun watching your reaction! Oh yeah
😂😂 gold. Home free is a great group!
Welcome! All accapella all voices!
We got good taste.we home fry's love our home free 💖🔥🍟🍟🔥 💖
Yes they are making all the sounds
Home free is all voice activated. They all can make sounds. You should see them in concert. Listen to Crazy or when a man loves a woman. Or Castle on the hill. Great live in concert.
Welcome to the "rabbit hole" of Home Free. Hold on & enjoy the ride.
Fantastic reaction. I've watched around 100 reactions to this song and yours is great.
A pack of sounds...😂... love it!! Yes they are definitely a pack of sounds and so much more. Thanks for a great reaction!!
Best reaction ever!!!!!
No Instruments. I told you so. Thanks for taking my suggestion.
These guys are amazing beyond telling
That first “what thu?’” face you gave is priceless.
There are no instruments. The Home Free rabbit hole is deep, keep digging
Don't mess with Home Free!! They are the best!!
They are an A capella group NO Instruments. You've to listen to them sing Ring if Fire ft. Avi from Pentatonic. If you want beautiful scenery and beautiful singing You should do How Great Thou Art
PTX please!!
Home Free is amazing. Love watching first time listeners, to this group. Loved your reaction. Great job.
HomeFree is my Favourite Country a cappella band in the world there music makes me happy
“A pack of sounds” 😂 that’s the best description I’ve heard for these guys. Lol
3rd time view~Wish I could keep putting 👍👍👍
You should hear them live in concert! They are the real deal. It's even better live. All sounds and voices are just them.
Hope you keep following Home Free, for me they are thee best A Capella group around. new sub here for Home Free. I hope you love them as much as the Home Fries!
