We've a more on Cosmic Sparkle coming out. Many of the candy mix videos (Color mixing with Chris playlist) also feature Cosmic Sparkle, often mixed with candy2o. Thank you.
Try one pearl-accent coat over silver (6013 Silver Sealer) of either Wicked Hi-Lite Blue or Purple. This creates an excellent, dimensional "glow" over the silver when viewed under direct light, especially lights at night. This certainly isn't just silver, wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-flakes. This is a very subtle use of the Hi-Lite Interference, just one medium coat. Extend the Hi-Lite color by mixing with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear, perhaps Wicked Interference 2:1 4050, then thin as needed with 4011 Reducer. Thank you. createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears
Hi Chris Do you recommend the white or black airborne sealer sprayed directly on hard plastics (models) or would you recommend using a primer first and then the sealer as a base, then the pearls?
Apply AutoBorne Sealer direct to plastic, www.autoborne.com. For most pearl-flake colors (Cosmic and Hot Rod Sparkle Colors) and pearlescent and metallic base colors, 6002 Sealer Black works well as the ground coat. Thank you.
When mixing candy2o with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear, its more parts clear to candy; often 4050 6:1 candy2o. When mixing 4050 with Wicked Colors, its more Wicked than 4050. Add ~ 10 - 20% per volume. 20% is Wicked 4:1 4040. Highlight Green can be even parts, depends - but its more concentrate than it appears to be before clear, so if applying a Hi-Lite Colors with a spray gun, mixing it 1:! 4050 works well. Thank you. Hi
Hi-Lite Interference Colors are accent pearls, which are concentrate in the bottle and are best extended with 5601 / 4004 Transparent Base or 4030 Balancing Clear. Hi-Lite Interference Colors are applied in very sparing amounts, 2 light coats over a black or dark base should be enough . Their effect is best made with a gloss clear top-coated over them. For more, please email us at techsupport@createxcolors.com. Thank you.
so is It correct to say that using a black or dark base coat is definitely necessary for all of the three pearl flake products colors to be substantially visible? thx for your time.
although a black base is used for the pearl-flake color references, any base color can be used, with good, visible pearl effect. beater yet is mixing Wicked pearl-flakes with a candy20 color and applying over 6013 Silver Sealer or other metallic base color. Thank you.
I hate how beautiful and streamlined this lineup is now lol. Well my wallet does anyway 🤬 Definitely want to try some of these flakes and work them with the candy's :) beautiful stuff guys
Mix Hot rod Sparkle White, a transparent pearl-flake, with either Fluorescent Hot Pink or Transparent Pink. Hot Rod Sparkle and Cosmic Sparkle Purple Purple also work well when mixed with pink. Thank you. wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-flakes
Yes, Cosmic Sparkle are small, 8-sided crystals. Hot Rod Sparkle are larger, coarser pearls that are not uniform in dimension like the Cosmics are. Thank you.
I’m researching truck painting project and I’m new to airbrushing. I really want the color to be a high gloss black. On the sides of the truck There will be a night scene, so the black will fade to blue. I’m wondering if using either/both hot rod white/hot rod blue would help add depth to the stars in sky area...?
Definitely make a test panel or two, and please refer to our 2021 Automotive & Hard Surface Application Guide for complete information. Thank you. creatextech.com/assets/pdf/app-guides/2021-Createx-Hard-Surface-Automotive-App-Guide.pdf
I can’t believe how much info you packed into this. I watched it four times and will probably watch it again just to try to retain it
thank you for letting us know this video was helpful!
Great video thank you! Can they be shot out out of an airbrush? Is there any issue with the flake size for the larger version?
I would like to see more videos on mixing and airbrushing of cosmic sparkle lines.

Great video Chris. Are they all capable of being shot through an airbrush and if so, are there minimum size air tips required thank you.
the highlight gold makes it look like an electric green, super cool stuff.
thanks!
You guys are doing great things
Thanks Ryan!
I love your show , I would you to show some different silver my wife has but she won't to paint with just silver can you help me with this ?

Is that 1 part candy , 4 parts 4050 , and 5 parts highlight green? Or 1 part highlight green?

Hell yeah. Nate Devoe used them awesome for fishing lures.
Thanks Ryan, especially the Hi-Lite Interference Colors, wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-flakes
Did you guys use a black or white base for the poison green candy-pearl mixes ?
6001 AutoBorne Sealer White. Thank you. autoborne.com/
I'm spraying some blue interference pearl and I'm getting some really bad yellowing. Any idea how I can avoid that?

HA! Thanks!
Can you guys advise on best way to get a pearl/sparkle pink? I've only seen a transparent pink but its fairly dull.
Is the cosmic flake smaller than the hot rod sparkle flake? It definitely has a different appearance...

Will the flake wicked color shoot throw an airbrush
Yes, with 0.5mm tip-size being the best, especially for Hot Rod Sparkle Colors. Thank you.
