I gotta tell ya, after about 3 years playing with cheap airbrushes, I've been picking up more and more details (mostly doing rc bodies). Coming across your channel was a game changer for me. I still am just a beginner started with basic stencils, but I've been using random clear pieces of lexan and plastic to practice, and I feel like some of your other videos led me down the right path. When I first started I didn't even know about additives to make it actually stick. A couple decent paint jobs ended up flaking off on the ground. 4050 changed my life. And I wouldn't have even known, if it wasn't for your channel. Thank you for everything
Ryu, thank you for taking the time to write such a nice co.ment. I am so happy to hear you like my channel and finding the content helpful. Just hit me up if you ever have any questions. Thanks again.
I'm new to create text and I'm enjoying it. I build model cars and trucks, I enjoy using a Creed tax indoors it's a slow order and I get a lot of compliments on my paint jobs in my videos. All the information I get from you and your videos help out immensely. Thank you 😎👍
One thing is if you premix paints in dropper bottles, its recommended you don't add the uvls clear to it in bottle and mix it outside. Craig Frasier also suggest mix in 4050 and let it sit for about 10mins if you can to emulsify
And updated illustration guide now says...if you mix 4011 in with illustration let it sit for 10+ minutes so the alcohol can work...andddd 4011 promotes curing so don't add it to a premix bottle but if you did then try and make it as air tight as possible, the water only suggestion is great. Use dionized of course
Ok, so, I picked up some wicked white by createx…. Right out of the bottle it was AMAZING! Very little tip dry and ran through my brush like silk. Your information in these videos is priceless. Thank you for sharing your talent with “us”. It is appreciated. 😎🙏🏻
Mario, I am glad to hear you liked the video. However, I can't speak on the textile paints as I have never used them. It's just not the type of airbrush I do. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching.
Not trying to plug another video but the one I did on Airbrush Paint - Cleaning Before Clear Coat - Know Your Paint ua-cam.com/video/sChGxN0kcRU/v-deo.html this really shows how water reacts between the two.

What's the actual shelf life of Createx paint? I just tested an unopened 8 year old bottle of Createx Transparent and Illustration colors through a brand new Iwata airbrush. It did not end well. This is paint that sat on the shelf, was never opened, never shook up except right before putting in the airbrush, for 8 years. So I know for a fact its less than 8 years. But I wonder what the actual shelf life is.
CF. I have had paint, sit longer than that, and used it with no issue and I have had paint that sat less than that, and it got thick and clumpy. I have had paint stored in a garage, and when I lived in PA it was exposed to freezing temps and some of the paint went bad and some didn't. So I'm not sure what the answer is, but if you reach out to Createx, they should take care of it. Thanks for the question, and thanks for watching.
Rouge, I have used both on projects without issue. But only if I needed a certain color that I didn't have. I like to stay with the Wicked for exterior applications and Wicked for Interior. I hope this helps, and thanks for watching.
Good morning, airbrush garage so recently I started airbrushing I’ve been using nothing but created paint and the company Just sent me some 4021 reducer it’s supposed to replace 4011. What do you know about that. 6:04
I use Fantastik cleaner cut with tap water 70% water in a spray bottle. This works great for clean up (and thins decently, too) with all my Createx paints. Saves me shit-ton of $.
Tucson, I do not subscribe to the homemade concoctions, but if you like it and it works for you, that's all that matters. Thanks for the comment, and thanks for watching.
Gustavo, If you are working inside you can use both Wicked or Illustration and if you are outside then only use the wicked. They both will last without a clearcoat but if you wanted the extra protection of a clearcoat use a 2k for exterior and regular foe interior. Hope this helps and thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
If u were going to paint soft plastic swim baits would u use wicked paints or a true water based paint like lure works? I realize I would have to dip the swim baits in Clearasol to seal the lure works paint.
Larry, I am not familiar with Lure Works, but Wicked would work. I have many views that use Wicked to paint lures and then yes, of course, clear. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
Hello, I’m new to airbrushing and haven been wondering if you’d recommend thinning createx bloodline colors with distilled water? Great video by the way. It’s helped me settle on illustration over wicked paints.
Allex, water will work with any of the illustration colors. I still recommend using the 4011 across all the Createx lines of paints. I hope this helps and thanks for watching.
SNR, 5618 is used more to run through the brush between colors. It is milder than the 4012 or 4011 and it doesn't cut through the wicked very well. I don't use it. I only use the 4011 to reduce and Clean. 4011 is all you need. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching.
Ordered the 39 color wicked set and couldn’t agree more… the wicked doesn’t spray well out of the bottle like the illustration does. However as you mention they each have their own use and are very high quality paints and well worth the money 👍🏼
I'm coming from the HOK urethane world. Some health issues are pushing away from the solvent based products. With House of Color, I could touch the paint almost immediately, and tape on it within a few minutes. Will illustration colors be a huge problem in the areas of dry times and masking?
Dude Slick, I need more info. Are you talking about base coating entire cars or air brushing? It sounds like you are doing projects for exterior applications. What are you airbrushing on? If you are airbrushing on cars, motorcycles, etc. you want to use Createx Wicked line of paints. They are formulated for exterior use. They have the UV resistance and dry much harder than illustration colors. Illustration colors are for interior use and easy manipulation of the paint like for erasing or scratching techniques. As far as dry time, it is very fast. I think the Specs recommend 15 minutes to an hour before taping depending how heavy you put it on. As long as your surface is prepped properly and you use medium to low tac tape you should have no problem. Hope this helps.
