    This is fantastic information and I am just starting to experiment with the Scenix SSR clear. I'm really hoping to use the matte for hard hats and if it works the way you demonstrated hopefully I won't have to worry about it chipping or peeling off an unsanded surface. My first experiment was with a metal water bottle and it peeled right off. After removing it I scuffed the surface with a red scotch bright pad and it's holding extremely well. I'll give the hard hat 12 hours to completely cure and see how that does. I'm only mixing up 4 oz at a time and have to say that there's a good chance I'm adding a little too much of the 4015 cross-linker. 2% of 4 oz is such a small amount it's difficult to measure. Sigh! Anyway, thanks Simon!

    I don't see it in european sites though. Impressive resilience - bike tanks are much exposed. You made a fine presentation man - thanks.

    Brilliant helpful and superbly demonstrated Simon, thank you. So they finally made a true automotive clear then! I thought the previous ones were close, clearly this is the next step I guess :) There are loads of final 2k clear coats for cars etc out there, how does this compare on final finish quality and price? Would you still recommend cars etc are still cleared with the old 2k products or is this up to that job? I can see lots of use for that matt and adhesion, your tank looks simply stunning and very 'now' in style. Anyway, thank you for the tutorial, Regards Phil

      Thanks Phil. Personally if I were to paint a car/van in full gloss then I would use 2k clear. However I would have no hesitation in doing a complete respray in matte with the new SCENIX.

    That’s an awesome clear! Unfortunately it looks like Createx has stopped producing it. Have you tried the new 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear? Curious if you have and how it compares. Thank you.

      James the UVLS is a newer and improved version of the Scenix. I have demoed it in some of my recent videos.

    Great video. Clearly another product for me to add to my arsenal.
    I’d like to try this as an adhesion promoter on stainless steel tumbler prior to metal flake mixed in with a 2K Intercoat.
    Any negative effects to this combination?

    Can it be used with the rest of the product line like you would a urethane? Mix with a Candy2o or even a Wicked?

    Wow, had to watch the video twice to take it all in. Fantastic product. I do favour a Matt finish for bike tanks etc, so this stuff is petrol resistant and water based? And can be buffed to a high gloss with a machine? Gonna have to get myself some of this, especially for the the gloss Matt contrast stuff. Can the Matt be used over gloss ssr to get the contrast?
    Cheers

      Thanks vmaxcec. Yes you could spray Matte over gloss SSR but I would cut and buff first.

    Looks like a great product; what paint types can this be applied to, obviously waterbased but is it OK on solvent based?

    • @craighkennedy
      @craighkennedy 6 років тому

      Trev Seaton yes, Scenix SSR Clears can go over solvent based paints without scuffing

    Hi can you use this clear for helmets.

      I would also like to know how this would hold up on helmets.
      I don't have the possibility to use 2k clear and have struggled to find any non toxic clears that are up to scratch

    Thanks for the video. Will this work well as an adhesion promoter for plastic or lexan? Also if it is scored with a blade by accident while doing graphics will it still adhere ? Thanks in advance

    • @CreatexColors
      @CreatexColors 6 років тому

      Scenix SSR Clear is an excellent adhesion promoter, Createx's best actually. It'll adhere all day long if scored, but for water-proof and chemical resistance the score should be repaired, but it has adhesion way beyond a coating failure due to cutting into it. Thank you. createxcolors.com/scenix-mural-theme-paint.html

    Looks good - is it a good clear for flakes/metallics?

    • @SMDesignsAirbrush
      @SMDesignsAirbrush  6 років тому +1

      personally I would only use a high build 2k urethane for heavy flakes. Or Sealer clear 6000 if you want to apply flakes as a base coat.

    Simon,
    Thanks, ready to purchase couple of questions
    1-2pac means the same as urethane 2k like HOK uc35?
    2-build properties if used over ground alum. panels?
    Respectfully,Bill

    • @SMDesignsAirbrush
      @SMDesignsAirbrush  6 років тому

      Hi Bill. Im not sure I fully understand your question. 1 pack or 1k means the product dries irrespective of a hardener or catalyst. A 2 pack or 2k means it requires a hardner etc.

    • @bitraeger1481
      @bitraeger1481 6 років тому

      Simon,
      As I thought. Insight on build properties? To me it seems it will be problematic if used in applications over ground metal. Any tests yet?
      Thank you,Bill

    All this American jargonese! It's a TWO part CLEAR lacquer with a catalyst to harden it.
    All the American style "blind them with science" is just rubbish.
    Try talking like that in a Belfast body shop and they will laugh.

      No body talks like that here in the states. And "2K" is german.
