The Dawg might need to travel for that one.
Earache wanted to sign Burzum but Napalm Death were against it and the deal never materialized 😂
Dude that collab would break the Internet. Extreme dyslexia meets extreme autism
@@naturalianoss would have made way more money off Burzum over Gaypalm
THESE are the kind of interviews we need more of...wish he had touched on early Entombed, but maybe next time...Grindcrusher, At Death's Door, and In The Eyes of Death were all hugely influential to this cat back in the day....very informative and telling interview 🤘
Nice cheerleader type comment
@Black.Metal.Toughguy Aye, and greetings to ye who wanders the eerie black-schlonged forests of Negrosvania, reveling at all the impaled wimps and posers...
The fact J-Dawg has a crush on Dani Filth explains everything.

one of the best interviews so far brah brah!
RIP Ralph Santolla, loved his work with Obituary. Death metal legend. I went to the show at the brass mug in Tampa in his memory shortly after he died it was awesome seeing some of his bangers he helped write in obituary and his other pieces of work
Wrote best solo Deicide has, the homage for Satan
One of my favorite solos of all time honestly
What albums did he do with Obituary?
@ my favorite album he did with obituary is darkest day. You never see anything on that album it’s kind of forgotten
@ ^^
Glad to hear Pat O'brien getting talked about!!!! He's my all time favourite guitarist. He's playing in Exhorder atm and is off probation this year so will be able to tour outside of the US, so who knows what'll happen then.
Happy to hear Pat is doing well!
The Cannibal albums wiith him are my favorites, especially The Wretched Spawn and Kill
Great to hear. Pat is good people
Believe Pat is also now in Vio-Lence
Honestly the earache AL interviews are insightful. Glad he has some memories of the old days and how death metal has changed over the years
Great interview. A lot of good info. Fun time watching
RIP Ralph Santolla. KILLER guitarist and a GREAT addition to Deicide.
One of the best interviews the Dawg has done 👍
Agreed. Though it pales in comparison to the dawg being interviewed by Fraser
25:38 He's talking about Pitchshifter. The early Godflesh worship was good, but the latter stuff is unlistenable rubbish. They fancied themselves rock stars after their music appeared on PlayStation game soundtracks.
Cold hard truth!
Which playstation game?
@@Xbuster6Twisted Metal for sure. I believe they were in a few racing games, too.

I was just re-watching the Hard and Heavy grindcore VHS the other day. Always interesting to hear a modern take on everything that was going on at the time.
Great interview brah brah.
WHATS HEAVIER THAN CAMO LONGSLEEVE SHIRTS?
When i met J Daeg he was wearing a tank top showing his muscles. It paired well with his full head of hair and friendly smile
A quilted camo jacket?

Never thought I’d hear Earache Al mention Tekashi 69 😂😂
Right?! I thought i didn't hear right...😅
69 is waaaay more metal and brootal than maaaaaaaaaaaaaaany black and death metal bands of today 😂
@@naturalianossatleast his ass is being brutally reamed in prison
Great interview, Jdawg. Thanks for the stories, Al ... \m/
Til Death Do Us Part wasn’t a great Deicide album, but May had been the first time a whole death metal album was written about a divorce
I think it's a great album. Very underrated.
Awesome album. The most disgusting sounding Deicide album, Benton at his most brutal vocal delievery (can't understand him shit) . Horror in the halls of stone in top 10 Deicide songs. But, there are no songs that would "work" live.
I don't understand what's terrible about it at all
The last album I bought and liked by them was serpents of the light !!!
In Torment in Hell was the last decent Deicide album
Cheers from Brooklyn, Al! Happy New Year!
Fact: Mel Blanc, the guy who voiced all the Loony Toons characters, also had a range of 8 octaves, just like Wyatt Screamin' Demon.
Ok
Humans don't have 8 octaves
@@AndyReinke I heard Mel Blanc did. What's your source to the contrary bruh?
The lowest low to falsetto is about 5
The human ear can't hear 8 octaves
Diggity dawg with the goods
I wonder if the problem band was Pitchshifter?
Exactly my guess.
Not Godflesh?
@@digitalbathbomb PS started including dance / dub stuff with "Infotainment?" then went on signing with MCA

I grew up with the first Napalm Death album, first Carcass, first morbid Angel, Sore throat, think i saw Entombed the day before Left hand path came out
Dawg can we get a Don Dokken interview brah brah
That's how you know hair metal is a poser genre. All those guys from that era that are old now wear wigs or use hair dye. You hardly ever see anyone from that era go on stage how they really look bald or with short grey hair.
I agree but there’s definitely some hair metal bands that pass for heavy metal like Dokken brah brah
@@pookiebearv2859 Nobody from Pearl Jam or the grunge era is wearing wigs on stage now. They go up there looking old because they dont give a shit. Hair metalers wear wigs because it was all about the hair with them and they try to look exactly how they did 30 and 40 years ago.
@@Chaz4543I would still rather listen to hair metal than grunge any day of the week

47:30 click this timestamp for the gem of this video. An insight into the Pat OBrien debacle. And no, theres no body camera of this incident. Trust me i already asked the cops for that.
I grew up in Tampa from late 70s to 91, and that sounds like a very plausible story.

Hey Al. What decade is World Downfall coming out on Picture Disc?
How about A×C vinyl reissues?? ?
Also, Al seems so rad. These are my favorite Dawg interviews

Can you ask ol’ Al why the Earache distro is so slow?? I ordered almost $200 worth of stuff during their holiday Dec 6th and I got nothing- no shipping info nothing…
Anyone else have issues ordering from Earache?
I’ve placed orders after that at Hells and Headsplit and received both before the earache order is even shipped
Everyone is saying similar stuff on their recent FB post where they were promoting some shit girl rappers
Ham and Eggers working for earache. They need real go getters like the Horval brothers
I’ve done the same ordered from earache I know they’re in England and I’m in America but it takes six weeks for me to get anything you got a bunch of lazy ass English working over in that office
@@Metalholic7of8 I just got a notification today that it’s shipped
Literally ordered it over a month ago - just happy to get my stuff at this point😂
Dude I had the same issue.! Just got a shipping notification after a month of waiting.
@49:00 Pat is in the band Exhorder now
No shit..exhorder is not a money making band though. Pat is not "busy" with exhorder

Seth Putman is a legend RIP

@@tbfünke that is actually pretty crazy lol
Earache almost always deletes anything I post having to do with AC and/or Seth Putnam.
I've been a big cradle of filth fan for twenty years now. They've never produced a bad record. I love the discography from start to present.
Me too minus "manticore" and "darkly darkly"
Manticore is very half assed
THE BERZERKER 🔥🔥🔥
You're right, got those 2 Nape albums mixed around. Enemy of the Music Business was indeed put out in 2000.
@distributorovkvlt-points5481 we all make mistakes, bro-town 😀 at least you can own up to yours.
I Mr the bezel jet when they were on tour. They were passing through town. Friendly guys
@@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal that took me a minute 😂 that's awesome though, bruv. They're definitely one of my favourites.
Most of the older Roadrunner Records roster basically followed Monte Conner to Nuclear Blast Records.
The collaboration between Cradle of Filth & Ed Sheeran will be brutal!!!
I'm 35 and I can say that cradle of filth was thought of as hot topic girlfriend metal back in the day.
Not until Cruelty and the Beast. Before that they were underground
6-9 didn't get signed to Earache cos he snitched off that Dig is out of the loop and Jeff Walker is a poser.
This video could eeeeeeasily be 3 hour long
The other 3 members of B.T. are now doing Blink 182 covers in someones Mom's basement. My girlfriends cousin's little brother told me- that is when they are not helping organize "mostly peaceful" protests.
COF was always a unique band, love them, only two records i don't like from them. Though i'm not going to listen to cradle when in the traditional black metal mood, just love them for what they are 🤘🏾
Great interview.
I sh*tmy pants!!!! 😮😮😮😮
Great watch, but Shoulda brought up that WEAK newer Reek if Putrefaction reissue with the censored cover that didn’t even include the original album artwork, how does junk like that make it to release 👿
That fucking postbox cover ... Whose stupid idea was that?!
They also half-assed a new Dark Recollections reissue: a flimsy digipack with no liner notes.
@@vestigiaterrent they did the same thing with Left Hand Path too. Bloody shameful, really.
It's not politically correct to say war and the government are bad.
Really depends there's people even on left who are for it as far is their politician in charge of it.
Scared or what?Be politically correct snowflake
🎥 FILM BATTLE: The Fly (1958) Vs. The Bat (1959)
Just had a Beavis and Butthead flashback😂
Eric didn't have the guitar chops to keep up, so he lied saying his van was busted so he didn't have to go on tour and look like a dumbass on stage because he couldn't play the solos 🤣
As soon as he brings up rival sons you can tell Beavis is perturbed..
Great video! 👍
Grindcore is just death metal played by people that can’t play their instruments and once they learn it just sounds like death metal 😂
I would argue that grindcore is actually hardcore punk cranked to 11, and just like a lot of punk bands over the years, the more they get into their instruments the more “metal” it becomes. Not always, but it’s a fairly common trajectory
Different style of lyrics. Napalm Death and Cannibal Corpse dont have the same song topics.
Grindcore is a bunch of Punks playing Hellhammer with political lyrics in 5 to 45 seconds songs...
@ Yes.
Great to hear Mighty Force mentioned here, even if it was only a fleeting mention. Those guys were awesome, they only released one album & one single but they are both well worth checking out. Deep, dark, dubby & funky as f*ck - nothing else like them at the time & I wish they'd stuck around & did more.
I stumbled across them by accident not too long ago while looking up something else online, I'll have to give them another listen
Sup box of chocolates boys!
Never knew that City morgue and 6.9. would of been on earache.

You have to remember bands like Bolt thrower, Napalm death etc came out of punk, they had political standards (anti racism, sexism, homophobia etc) thats why they stood against bands like AC, Extra hot sauce had their haters too, i still own Taco of death, great album
Yeah and those bands are gay
6:41 insane comparison 💀💀💀💀
Lol the REAL reason Dawg being salty on Bolt Thrower is because they "Ducked the Dawg" on selling their bootleg shirts.
Literally nobody cared about that band ever just got glorified by first wave of hipsters and mainstream critics in 2000s same goes for later Death both wimpy as hell. Chuck if alive would likely be the most PC person around.
Chris from Autopsy also got pissy with HH over selling a boot of theirs.
WRONG. They wanted him to send them all copies of a bootleg CD he was stocking. Stop spreading misinformation please. Lol owned
@@DeanH92 what a bunch of ham and eggers
@DeanH92 Owned? Lol Dawg said it in another video. They were selling Warmaster and Realm of Chaos bootleg shirts and they received a C&D. I remember when they were selling them too. One moment they were there, then they were gone. And I emailed Hells to see if they were restocking and they said they had to remove them from the site. This was yeeeeeeaaars ago.
@jimmyfingers227 is 19-year old virgin living in his parents basement. Bolt Thrower was already touring with Carcass, ND and Morbid Angel in '88889 and were already a talked about in the UK punk/hardcore scene before The Peel Sessions. TAAAAAAPE on that mouth shut, BUBBLES.
All CoF is great, up to Median.
As the entire world know by now, Barney activism sucks....
Fuck yea AL rules!
@ thanks!
I'd like to know who owns the rights for Necrosis Records and will Cadaver - Hallucinating Anxiety get a proper re-release!
'dinner' haha
It's funny how pivot from hobby and passion is flipping towards job and duty. The scale is something which younger bands and not calculating in that relations between band members are becoming hard to manage...so many times. Human weaknesses.
There is a shirt you can buy from Morrisound Studios that have the top selling death metal bands, and number one, and I was kind of shocked because I don't even think about it is "Sound of Perseverance".
That's rough.
Even 90's death metal isn't immune from the phenomenon of 'popularity =/= quality'.
For the longest time, I thought the top three highest selling (90's) death metal releases were The Bleeding, Covenant & Deicide (or Legion). If I'm not mistaken, some Six feet Under release managed to reach the top 5 in DM sales (as hard as it is to believe).
@@sjoerddondersteen1337 I had definitely read about Legion before, same with Covenant, but according to this shirt, its Sound of Perseverance, Tomb of the Mutilated, and Individual Thought Patterns. I remember in the Death Doc, Chuck had been offered a gig with Metallica right before he died, so it makes sense those would make so much money.
People forget that Dimmu's first records were their softEST.
In the future can you give some context to who it is that your interviewing. Earache Al doesn't really cut it. Who is he exactly
Al. From Earache.
God bless cannibal corpse
I bet the most pain in the ass band to work with Al referenced was Ministry. And yes, they're just as bad as Wokethrower and Gaypalm Death
It was Pitch Shifter.
