There are a lot of great bands....I listen to everything from Tove Lo, Major Lazer, old school rap, classical, Led Zeppelin, Slipknot, Sia, Sade, Disturbed, APC, Puscifer, anything but country basically. I can't fucking stand country and I'm a white dude gun owner living in BFE, MO. Stereotypes say I should be rockin' banjo music. But there's TOOL, then there's everything else. Check out Sunday Valley or Sturgill Simpson solo shit if you want to hear real country. I have hated country my whole life until I found him and Tyler Childers. Whitehouse Road by Tyler or Turtles All The Way Down by Sturgill. They will never play this shit on any radio station. Tool is the best band ever and their music is black magic. I have to say as a huge fan of Tool, I really appreciate how enthusiastic you are with the band and how emotional you get when you listen to them. I still get goosebumps when I hear their music and I've been listening to them for over 20 yrs. You should really go back to the beginning to hear them raw. The first EP they did was called Opiate. Keep rock'n my brother. Also give Type o negative : Love you to death a listen, you won't be disappointed.
opiate is still my favorite tool track ... i remember the first time i heard it it just blew me away .. been a fan ever since .. i was 12 when i first heard it .. im 38 now .. everything MJK touches is gold ... but tool will always be number 1 .. maynard is the stephen hawkings of music .. hahaha
"We are eternal, all this pain is an illusion" This song got me through some rough times. So much so I had those lyrics tattooed on my back for my first tattoo as a reminder.
These songs in tandem are among my favorites that Tool has done. The message and the way they deliver it is just incredible. The transition from Parabol to Parabola just hits you. When they play this live, no words for it.
They ARE the best band ever. The way they write their music is so refined and thoughtful, soulful and true to the art of making music. I always view them as the most famous band nobody knows, except for the millions of tool fans, because.... They're in the know. And I like that about them. It's special.

Matty Perry 3 Libras is definitely one of my Favorite songs by APC. It made me very emotional the first time I ever heard it. I still get emotional when I think about someone that I loved in the past and they didn't realize I loved them.

I have lupus, fibromyalgia, and other autoimmune diseases. Those lyrics have meant so very much for a long time. I can't wait to hear Tool's next installment in the soundtrack of my life.
I was in high school 93-97. Best musical time to be alive. (Early) tool, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, soundgarden, bush, stp, live, (early) deftones amongst so, so many others. @@nathanbaca5131 I wouldn't say there is NO comparison. I would argue they use similar techniques to achieve different sounds, that's why I called them the heavier cousin of tool.I They both take polyrhythms, odd time signatures and technical skills to achieve their sounds. I just feel like he would appreciate the music and lyrics.
I seriously can’t say enough how much I loooove that you have taken a liking to Tool-and a genuine liking, for that. And the fact that you reacted to “Parabol/Parabola”....? Absolutely amazing. This combination is my absolute favorite from them, hands down. Keep ‘em coming, please!
I grew up with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple, Ozzie and many others, I thought the music had died after the seventies, Tool has proved me wrong and I am experiencing the same feeling as you listening to their music for the first time and it feels amazing.♥️
Best live show there is. Seen them 3 times and they never disappoint. Love when they play Stinkfist live, right before “I’ll keep digging” they always have a different jam leading up to it and it’s always dope.
Also their guitarist Adam Jones coordinates their light shows. Amazing visuals. I wish I could’ve seen Floyd back in their heyday but these guys are the next best thing as far as a concert stage performance goes.
That is awesome! And that was an off-album tour. We caught them that year in Daytona. I always enjoy their stripped down shows like that! Just 2 hours of pure awesomeness!
Saw Tool right after 9/11 in NYC. I knew about Tool, but my friend got tickets and pretty much convinced me to see them live. My musical life hasn't been the same since. A living life experience. I thank the Gods I saw them on the Laterlus tour, my favorite album so far. Tool are THEE band of the 90's/00's. Word!!! Preston, just to change it up...try the band YES and listen to 'Heart of the Sunrise'. YES changed my young life back in the day. Give them a go!
Jamie Mathieson crazy it’s been that long because I initially laugh at the comment of “earlier” tool. Freshman in college and remember going to store to get it, pop it in my buddy’s car stereo and the look we all gave each other when that opening sequence of grudge started playing.
Tool might be the best band ever! Regardless of... Parabol/Parabola is definitely (in my opinion) the best song ever written!!! Musically, lyrically, it's a hands down masterpiece followed closely by Aenima!
Been with Tool since ‘95. Seen ‘em 3 times and have opened the eyes of many a future Tool fan. I love seeing you hear/watch them for the first time as I can only imagine what it’s like to hear these masterpieces for the first time. Virgin ears! Through you, I can. Keep up the killer work.
Tool is such an amazing experience that everyone should have . Mayanrd’s voice gives me the chills and just feels comforting . And it doesn’t matter how many times I listen to them , I continuously get goosebumps every time. Their music is so phenomenal and empowering . They are literally my favorite band and EVERY song is just amazing . I’m happy that you’re enjoying this amazing band . I went to one of their concerts back in November and I was speechless the whole time . They have all these psychedelic visuals and shit , such an experience. You should check out his other band A Perfect Circle 👌🏻👌🏻
Pink floyd was actually an inspiration to Tool. So you could say, the revolution of the 80s led to the mystical emergence of the Prog Metal rock genre in the 90s, the result? Tool.
(Crusnik Rage)Yes his voice. I sing with him on the bus, walking on the street, and trying to reach his vocal resonance vibrates your head to be primed for enlightenment. It has made me appreciate Maynard James Keenan so much more feeling how hard it is to achieve his resonance. Such vocal control and mastery. It makes you not lie to yourself in how you feel the words and the songs themselves.
@@runyunhyde4373 between those two songs I'd pick terrible lie, one of my favorites. Something I can never have is really good too but he may think it's too depressing lol. I'd like to hear Kinda I want to or Sin

I love Tool, best band ever!!! Everyone of their songs has a meaning and quintessentially done masterfully. I am in awe everytime I listen to one of their tracks. Can't wait to hear their new album 😁😁😁
Flashback Brotha, i had the same exact feelings about tool that you have. In my 51yrs on this earth, ive listened to every kind of music from every era imaginable and with out a doubt Tool is at the top. Best part is that the music gets better the more you listen to it. If you ever find a artist that you think is better then Tool, please please let us know. But i seriously doubt that day will ever come. Love your takes on music and how you dissect each car the song truly listen to it for what it is. Thank you it's refreshing
How about doing a double feature on the song "No Quarter" - First the Led Zeppelin version (original) and then the Tool version. Both OP tracks. Cheers
Needs to be done, really puts into perspective how good and innovative Tool really are, taking a 7 minute Led Zeppelin song and turning it into an 11 minute masterpiece

Last time I saw Tool, during "SObER", Maynard put on a NY Yankees fitted and a D.J. came out, Maynard freestyled n sang for a long outro, then leading the band finishing "Sober".

I love your passion for good music, I feel you bro, not all people appreciate and really hear and feel good music to some it's just background noise in their lives
Rosetta stoned is one of my favorite Tool tracks. The drums are insane as always but Maynard’s vocal delivery is what really does it for me.
Let's get him into Meshuggah next, Tools heavier cousin.
SpacePope musically I think he would love Meshuggah but vocally I think he likes more melodic vocals
SpacePope the og djenters. He’d probably appreciate meshuggah but there’s really no comparison to Tool. Completely different music stylistically
Is the audio cutting out for anybody else?? (Thanks guys. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't my laptop messing up lol)
Yup
Yeah
Yeah it was messing with my flow Bra..
He didn't used to edit his video reactions 😞
Yup
I seriously can’t say enough how much I loooove that you have taken a liking to Tool-and a genuine liking, for that. And the fact that you reacted to “Parabol/Parabola”....? Absolutely amazing. This combination is my absolute favorite from them, hands down.
Keep ‘em coming, please!
I grew up with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple, Ozzie and many others, I thought the music had died after the seventies, Tool has proved me wrong and I am experiencing the same feeling as you listening to their music for the first time and it feels amazing.♥️
Seen tool in 2000 yeah it’s something I won’t forget amazing band
Travis Hearherly saw them last year in Rochester NY with my 15 year old son. It is something neither of us will ever forget.
I love how you're going back to earlier TOOL to get a deeper understanding of a band you love, so awesome 😎 🤘
Michael Ramsey funny thing is that it’s only 2 albums ago. 17 years but only 2 albums
Lateralus is Tools Mona Lisa though
Jamie Mathieson crazy it’s been that long because I initially laugh at the comment of “earlier” tool. Freshman in college and remember going to store to get it, pop it in my buddy’s car stereo and the look we all gave each other when that opening sequence of grudge started playing.
Miss this guy and his positivity and raw reactions and one of the few people that actual understands emotion in music
“Rosetta stoned” with lyrics you will crack up and be blown away. Such a powerful song.
TOOL is the best band ever! Glad to see another member of the club.
TOOL - LOST KEYS/ROSETTA STONED (w/ lyrics)
Tool might be the best band ever! Regardless of... Parabol/Parabola is definitely (in my opinion) the best song ever written!!! Musically, lyrically, it's a hands down masterpiece followed closely by Aenima!
Parabol/Parabola reacts are my favorite because everyone’s eyes light up when Parabola starts and again when Maynard screams “ALIVE”!
Took the words right out of my mouth haha
hold on bruh…
HOLD ON BRUUUUUUUUUUUH
Lol
Love it
DON DEMARCO
Lol, I was waiting for that right at the transition
Maynard voice is soooo hypnotic!
Got to meet em in 1997 in Dayton....amazing!
Tool's music is the most creative, powerful and smooth, and least repetitive. All of them are all mega talented.
Pink floyd was actually an inspiration to Tool. So you could say, the revolution of the 80s led to the mystical emergence of the Prog Metal rock genre in the 90s, the result?
Tool.
70s*
Tool seem more like Led than any other, adam jones himself admitted that they are fans of led zeppelin and ac/dc
"The details bro..." YES! they really do craft their music into perfection.
my requests: H
No Quarter
Push it - live version from Salival
Which is why it takes the so long to put out albums!
Pushit from salival..... daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam
No Quarter is originally Led Zeppelin, fyi
(Crusnik Rage)Yes his voice. I sing with him on the bus, walking on the street, and trying to reach his vocal resonance vibrates your head to be primed for enlightenment. It has made me appreciate Maynard James Keenan so much more feeling how hard it is to achieve his resonance. Such vocal control and mastery. It makes you not lie to yourself in how you feel the words and the songs themselves.
Anyone who gives Tool a chance, listens to them and interprets their lyrics will love them. Guaranteed.
Yeees. This is my favorite TOOL song. So glad you got to experience it.
Nine inch nails bro. Trent Reznor is a genius. I'm telling you.
Be definately needs to do Nine Inch Nails soon!!
Yeah it has to be the right song for an introduction. Please do not suggest closer. Maybe something I can never have or terrible lie
@@runyunhyde4373 between those two songs I'd pick terrible lie, one of my favorites. Something I can never have is really good too but he may think it's too depressing lol. I'd like to hear Kinda I want to or Sin
Yes!! The day the world went away, The Fragile, 》A WARM PLACE《, Something I can never have.
@@amberlydavis5643 Idt a warm place would be a good First song for him to hear just the fact it's an Instramental
Song gives me constant chills up my spine and arms... and legs. 🤘🖤
I have "All this pain is am illusion" tattoed down my right arm. This song touched the deepest and darkest corners of my soul the first time I ever heard it. It still sends chills over my entire body every time.
King, Tools last album was in 2006, Maynard says that the new album will be on shelves in 2019, possibly April next year, cant wait. Tool Concert brother. time.
August 30th this year! WOOHOO! 😎🤘
It's coming!!!
It came, and it was amazing
It came. And may be one of the best pieces of art I’ve heard/seen/experienced
I don't even think FI reached the damn shelves before it was sold out.
Tool - THIRD EYE WILL BLOW YOU AWAY ! wanna see your reaction
I'm not sure he can handle third eye, lol jk but that song is on a whole other level.
Yep
Definitely another level. Listening to Third Eye puts me in a trance.
@@1Corinthians15.1-4 same. one doesn't listen to Third Eye, They Experience it.
In concert, even more so!
Parabol + Parabola is a emotionally heavy song. It sits on your soul like a mountain. It's one of my favorites ever but I can't listen to it too often because it fucks me up inside. Even listening to it second hand like this it cuts deep.
The musicianship is ridiculous. The 3 best musicians in there craft. The forth instrument. The voice. Sick
You want a Tool collaboration check out Deftones - Passenger. It has Maynard from Tool singing on that track. It’s epic!
Manuel Mesa hell yes!
So much yes!
I love Tool, best band ever!!!
Everyone of their songs has a meaning and quintessentially done masterfully. I am in awe everytime I listen to one of their tracks. Can't wait to hear their new album 😁😁😁
Touché
I could go on for days about how fucking amazing this band is been a fan of them for 30 years.
Cheers
Please this!!!
Absolutely! Cmon bruh! Life changing
So this.
Needs to be done, really puts into perspective how good and innovative Tool really are, taking a 7 minute Led Zeppelin song and turning it into an 11 minute masterpiece
@@benbhogal4551 LZ is the shit, but when Tool covers a band's song, it becomes Tool's song, and it's better.
Ah been waiting to see your reaction to this! You sir, and Tool, are legends. 🙏
Parabol - Parabola is probably my favourite piece of music.
This pair of songs is sooooo great. Parabol is 1 of my very favorite songs
Have seen tool and perfect circle, fantastic performances live. Hands down favorite live bands
Love your channel .
A Perfect Circle : The Noose or Orestes .
Orestes definitely.
damn bro I felt like that message at 5:01 was for me, Ive been tryna stay focused on the law of attraction that was trippy much love
Ditto.. Much love preston
I am so glad I found your channel. My love for TOOL is not something many understand. I lay here unable to sleep and I watch your videos and it brings a genuine happiness to my heart that I dont feel often anymore. Thank you for sharing your love of music with us.
So happy you reacted to this bro!! 😄 I get a feeling from this song that I don’t get from other songs. Tool are alien, they’re not human, they’re on a completely different level than anything else
Yay!!! Preston!!! So glad you finally reacted to this song. Yes, you were awestruck!! I love watching your reactions. Tool does create masterpieces. Their songs are experiences! So glad you're able to appreciate their artistry. ❤️
Best reactor on UA-cam.
I love that you don't criticize any song and give us the best lines out of a song.
React to life goes on - 2pac
Great song.
Tool is more than a band. What they produce is more than music.
They ARE the best band ever! They create music they facilitates soul transcendence.
Thanx for making Monday worth living
Been listening too tool and to this day there is not a single band that i can think of that creates there music to the standard that tool does like its so emotional and hits you in the soul
Saw them the first time November ‘96 on the Ænima tour in avenue that held 3500 people. Out of body experience doesn’t even begin to describe it. I’ve been a Tool devotee ever since. Once they get in your blood you’re not the same.
So excited for this reaction video! I have been asking waiting for you to do Parabol/Parabola! This is my all time fav Tool song(s) and I am so excited to see you enjoy it!! I have been wanting to have "We are eternal. All this pain is an illusion" tattoo for a long time. That will probably be my next. 🖤🔧
The Patient next :)
Nate Fontana I would love to see him react to that! Good suggestion!!!
Yessssssss
The patient is a little hard to digest when you first hear or, though. At least, it was for me. Very solid song anyway.
Welcome to the TOOL ARMY brotha! You talk about Goosebumps a lot and it doesn't matter how many times you hear the same song you ALWAYS get the same feeling. There are good bands and there are great bands. There are even all time great bands but still nothing and I mean NOTHING compares to TOOL. Cheers homie.
Tool is like a journey to a point that nobody knows on thousand different ways in one time. Best band in this planet.
How you react to Tool warms my heart
It reminds me of how I felt the first time. Thank you for that. You are awesome.
Love these reactions man. Reminds me of when I first discovered the masterpiece that we know as Tool's music. You get it.
Last time I saw Tool, during "SObER", Maynard put on a NY Yankees fitted and a D.J. came out, Maynard freestyled n sang for a long outro, then leading the band finishing "Sober".
This band is my life between the ages 14 and 20 havent listened to them in a while what a nice change of pace in what ive been listening to lately
"TOOL - THIRD EYE"
He will die if he listens to it
Has he heard it yet?
I havent heard it yet myself
I felt that HOLD ON BRAH! coming like an earthquake \m/ that was awesome, love your reactions, keep'em coming!
You have no idea how happy your tool reactions make me. I cannot stress this enough, you would have your mind absolutely blown at a show. I highly recommend going. If you have to drive 8 hours like I did to see them, it's worth it.
This whole album is a masterpiece. Each song is amazing on its own, but they're almost like pieces the puzzle. This song takes a whole new life when you put all the pieces in place.
