Seriously, I have nothing but praise and admiration for the two of you. ❤ That is a LOT of work you've already got done, and you know there's still a tonne more to do and you're just focussing and getting it done. It's what is called a "hard slog" here, and you're both nailing it. Be proud. And wow! I keep saying it, but that is going to be such a great asset when done! Will be making your life and work easier in the long run. Finally - yay for first cook out there! May there be many, many more amazing meals created in that quanset. ❤
Oh Thank Goodness, a midweek visit from my favorite Alaska Couple! I must admit, Arielle & Eric, I was a bit nervous as you were raising those arches! You are amazing! Thanks for taking us with. 💞
I watch for your video to post every week, but I'm always so pleasantly surprised when I see it. Wow! Yall have done Amazing putting that thing together!!! And I know you will be SOOO GLAD when you get it finished.
I love reading all these comments and I echo all of them. Do you ever feel like you have 1000’s of sets of parents and family routing for you? All the love and support to your journey in Alaska!!!! Keep on keeping on you two!!!!
I really admire and appreciate all the hard work you folks put in!!! You are the “hold my coffee and watch this!” Kind of folks we enjoy to watch! We wish you good health and happiness! Cannot wait to see the hut complete and maybe some moose or caribou hanging in it!
Oh my gosh you guys! I was holding my breath a few times! Your machines looked like a game of Jenga! This was buy far your toughest project! Way to hang in there, it’s going to be an amazing shop! 👋
This was absolutely EPIC!!! From lifting the rental equipment with the tractor to getting those first arches up...to negotiating the logistics of how to build this ...to your celebratory salmon dinner...you had me glued every second. Your talents, stellar work ethic, and persistence are truly amazing and that's why this channel is so incredible. Truly awe inspiring! Can't wait for the next episode!!! ❤❤❤
Wow wow wow I am speechless truly nerve wrecking beginning but soooo proud of u guys you are doing an awesome job u guys are so inspiring and energetic must be the food you eat😂dont know where u still get the energy to cook after such draining physical work. You go guys I am rooting for you all the way. ENJOY the fishing trip u deserve every second to relax and take a break. God bless love u guys❤ ps. I noticed that u dont wear gloves handling the panels I pressume they are safe to handle with bare hands. I am in awe, you make such a perfect couple working together which is very rare to find and even laughing under stress thats the way to go welldone the platinum medal is yours❤
You two are something else. God bless, I like that you both work together all the way.! I feel very proud of you both. 😂 please take care of yourselves, you both need to use gloves to protect your hands if you are injured you be no good fir each other l. Grandma's know everything 😊 !!!! Blessings to you both. Laura M from Rocjaway Park, New York ❤
@@LMGM5I’ve watched at least 3 put together, nobody wore gloves, you must be able to put those bolts n nuts on and you can’t do it with gloves on, did you notice how many bolts are in one piece they’re putting up at a time, it’s an erector set at best 😂❤.
again i commend you both.you r such hard workers to begin with and then you also have to feed and water your animals plus feed yourselves.so,your just rally good!
I’m holding my breath watching this. I was thinking how are they going to do this with just the two of you. But you did it, whew 😰. Good that Arielle is not afraid of height. You two are the best. You finish all your projects like you’ve been doing it your whole life. Thank goodness the Quonset is up. Could hardly wait for your next project…
WOW Wow 😮!!! This was an intense video! I held my breath every time you lifted a piece of the arch! It certainly held our attention as to what the first arch was going to look like. Can’t wait for you to complete it! 👏👏👏🙏🏻
Incredible work, I cannot believe or understand how just the two of you manage to achieve so much. And from the viewer’s point of view, every minute is enthralling. So clever too, to intersperse those flora and fauna snatches - it just lightened the stress moments for me! Wonderful.
So happy for you guys -you persevered and you won. Girl you said it right, you have to do it because nobody is going to do it for you. That has been mu life motto, and at 72 it has served me well. It’s a good feeling to see your hard work coming together. Congratulations to you both, you are both geniuses.
The chicks are so cute ❤ Bandit sure looked like he wanted to give you a paw clearing the water out. Your teamwork is so admirable, you take a task that should have much larger group of people look easy with just the two of you.
You’ve been talking about this hut for so long, I’m so excited for you to be getting it up! I love how you make a celebration out of things - cooking dinner on the pad and raising yourselves up to eat and watch the sunset. I don’t think I would think to do that.
This is so exciting! I can see many hours being spent in there getting projects tackled during the winter and during canning season. It's going to be an awesome place to be able to do the things you need to do without the swarm of mosquitos.
Wow! You two have no fear! It's such fun watching as you tackle each new challenge, and I love just seeing you interact so well as you continue building your life together.
WOW..... You two never cease to amaze/impress me (and countless others) with your sense of adventure, teamwork, work ethic, etc. The tenacity with which y'all tackle these projects is nothing short of INCREDIBLE.... LOVE IT! ;-)
You two are amazing! You like what you do and have so much fun doing all the projects. Always love the fishings videos and all the winter scenes Been watching you for many years. Cheers you two Looking forward to your garden next spring. Love your creative cooking also.
Massive respect to you both for not only managing this ambitious build but also for the fantastic edit throughout! Can't imagine filming and building and then having to relive it for the edit lol! Great job!
I have been so looking forward to this point in your build! I was so happy you had a team of friends and allies to assist with the cementing; I just assumed you would have at least a few for the actual raising of the Quanset1!!! I am so impressed you are doing this by yourselves, and I look forward to the next installment!
Great job! And your gaining some solid experience too! I love how you stop to smell the roses and celebrate your work from time to time! Your dinners and drinks are always the “best”! I always love how you say we made a mistake here but now we will show you how the fix it! And the best of all, is your attitudes as you learn to build while teaching at the same time. You two are very unique people! Your spirits are complementary to each other and a beautiful breath of fresh air for us all! I love you two!

Not gonna lie, I'm jelly of your life and what you all do. Im handicap so i get to live vicariously through y'all ❤ Thank you guys for always keeping it real and taking us on your journey ❤❤❤ love and best wishes always ❤😊❤
I confess that I poured myself a gin and tonic at the second arch, it was so scary to watch. I am absolutely gobsmacked that just two people could get this build done. It's such a big building. And two thirds of the way, you cook a delicious salmon dinner! Rockin Alaska. Much love. Suzi
There's an old saying that I'd rather be lucky then skilled. You guys are both,it takes a lot of thinking outside the box to be able to construct a building of this size. I've got to be honest on the first two frames I just knew it was going to end in a disaster and I was praying you guys wouldn't get hurt when it all came down. You definitely proved this old man wrong. As a fellow Oregonian I can say you are doing us proud with your full speed ahead man the torpedoes additude. God bless ,stay safe and good luck with finishing the build before the bad weather shows up.
i have built 2 of these over the years i tighten the bolts as i went how are they going to tighten the bolts someone has to hold the bolt while the other 1 tighten the nut
@maverick5794 maybe they will let you know how they managed to tighten the bolts, but what you said makes sense unless someone crawled on top of the hut to hold the bolts.
EPIC, TRULY E P I C !!!! I thought the two concrete pours were hard going, but this one tops them, hands down. That tractor is more than earning it's keep.... It will be so satisfying seeing the arches taking shape. Good design, the way that all the sections are able to be handled individually. Tip for tightening the nuts/bolts. Use a coloured paint marker, and when you tighten a nut/bolt, "dot" the nut with it. That way you know each bolt has been tightened. The salmon & sweet potato fries was a well-deserved meal after a hard day, what a colour, looked great. Epic, truly epic.....!
40 yrs ago 3 of us built a Quonset Hut. We had no idea what we were doing. You are correct the 1st section is the hardest. If I remember, we build the arch on the ground and took a rope and pulled the arch up to top center. We did tighten the bolt so it would stand on it own. With only two people, you are doing a great job. You work so well together. The one we build 40+ years ago is still up and looking good.
That is how I would think I would have it done, to connect every middle pieces of one arch and then lift it to connect it to the base on the ground both sides but what do I know doubt this matter? :)
I have watched you since the beginning but since the move to your new property my husband has started watching also. We are both amazed by your ingenuity, hard work and get up and go, not just with the building work but the additional time taken to film, edit and upload your videos, is there more than 24 hours in a day in Alaska 😂😂😂😂😂😂. I could watch you every day if you posted. Remember to take some rest. All the best from Scotland x
Good job on making it work. I love when you get the first piece of something in place, then start adding the rest of pieces which can piggyback off the first.
You guys have super ingenuity powers. Youre definitely out of the box thinkers and problem solvers. Im so impressed by how much youve accomplished in so little time. Thats going to be a great storage area/workshop.
I watched another channel where they put one of these buildings up, using at least as much equipment and like 7 people and they still struggled- needless to say that it was pretty impressive to watch the 2 of you tackle this project on your own!!
That gentleman said he thought 4 people should be required, 3 at minimum, to work on a quonset hut. No matter what, that project is scarey. I had no clue how flexible/unstable the parts for a quonset are. Love your work. Your photography is so professional and your content is wonderful.
You guys are both BOSSES!! You both work so hard and have much respect for each other. It's lovely to see. Great progress and no injuries! Carry on, you're almost there!
Aloha. You know what amazes me? The stuff I watch on your channel, enthusiastically, that I would never consider watching anywhere else. I’m sure I’m not alone!
My gosh that was a thrill putting the Genie on the slab...what an amazing tactor that is. All the things it has done! Well worth that drive to get it. When you were saying how many bolts in the buckets I was thinking oh my gosh what a heck of a lot and knowing you have to tighten them all... I can't imagine. Patience you both do have. And what else could be better than having your dinner up in the air on the Genie. I bet the rental company would get a huge hoot out of that to :) hugs
Have to say your both braver than me, I afraid of heights. Never seen one out up before and dear heavens at first so wobbly I was afraid it would come crashing down. Great job and it's looking nice and bigger than I thought. Goes without saying he safe Dinner looks good. Blessings to you both. 😊🇺🇲
The most amazing observation I make in all your videos is how amazing of a team you guys are together! Its quite magical. After this video, I am not sure there isn't anything you guys can't do together!!! BEST CHANNEL ON UA-cam PERIOD!!!
Eric has a very good way to think things through to get the end result quickly, slowly and patience. Arielle you are a good partner and you are not afraid to get your hands dirty.
I am so proud of you guys...independent,,,,self sufficient ....fun loving....enjoying life and working hard....you are great examples to all normal people everywhere....love you both.
@@chris3m98 Worst case, I guess they could dig a ditch and ramp, large enough for the trailer to back into, and then drive the lift on, from the high side of the ditch.
We built one several years ago. We had to put sealer between the sections as we built it. Kind of a pain in the butt. It came in the rolls with the kit. Kind of looked like clay. I didn't see them putting that on.
Guys I Just love you , I respect your hard working , I respect for your skills , knowledge , your energy , your positivity , Thank you so much that you are sharing your hard experience with us here , Peace ,Joy , Health , Blessing with you all in your life .
You guys are AMAZING…. I just LOVE your partnership and the way you all work together to get things done on your property with impressive efficiency!! Literally and Undeniably a DYNAMIC DUO! 🙌🏽👏🏽🤩🥰
Phew! 😫 I am exhausted just watching . You two are Workaholics. How on earth do you do it. The thing that you have going for you is that you like each other, are friends with each other, you respect each other and so you tango well together.☯️♋. Blessings on you both🙏
Only you guys would tackle such a gargantuan task ..you never cease to amaze us all..and the thing is you always do an incredible job. This one was EPIC!
I've held my breath several times and with Ariel saying the rough stuff is over and it's smooth sailing ahead I can relax.😊 There weren't that many fancy tools back in the day so I'm really getting a kick out of the work you two are tackling !
Hi folks, I've been watching you since you started in Alaska, almost. My wife and I admire your brave new world, experiencing new things and always willing to try more. As a veteran gas station and automotive dealer, construction worker, please hear this. That concrete pour you did was the bravest thing I've ever seen anyone attempt (from tv). It was a very large span and thick, now that its down let it sit for a couple of weeks and stay away from it. It may be hard and strong enough to drive on with out the appearance of damage, but hairline cracks will happen underneath it and will reveal themselves within two or three years. I feel terrible I didn't tell you this after your pour I watched. When we poured concrete in Minnesota we couldn't guarantee our work if a car drove on it with in 7 days specially larger vehicles. Stay off of it and cut your expansion lines firs so if it cracks it will crack short lines. Love you guys and seriously hope I'm wrong. I wonder if you can hear me when you ice fish.
What a treat! You’ve made my week. The pair of you are amazing, to put together that massive jigsaw puzzle. Well done. You’re creating an huge useful space.
My god. You two are ABSOLUTELY FEARLESS!! It's just amazing to me, how you'll just charge straight ahead into projects that completely new territory for you. I assumed you'd bring a crew in with a crane to put the hut together. I've got to stop underestimating the dynamic duo. Ya'll are a joy to watch!
My favorite couple has done it again with hard work, but not giving up when it gets hard. love you two. It's so great and I know you have a lot more to finish and you will get it all done. I keep you two in my prayers that all works out for you.😇❤👍🙏🙏🌹🌹🌻🌻
You 2 are so impressive ! I have seen other teams of 4 + (attempt to) put up Quonset Huts with nothing like the skill you show AND then you cook up delicious looking muffins and grilled wild salmon too ! Absolutely love your channel ..looking forward to more updates on your amazing project.
Is there anything you two can't do?! Impressive teamwork and resourcefulness. That tractor continues to impress me. I can't wait to see this project completed. Greetings from southern Arizona 🏜
Nice and warm. The slab turned out great considering how much concrete it was. Work safe. In the old days we had double headed nails, 16's and 20's to form with. Had to pull everyone by hand. Yeap, I like those screws. A tip for the nnext slab or pour, put a dab of grease in the screw heads where they might get mix in them. You need sky hooks. Come in handy. Wish I had a set. A frind and I put one of those together for an airplane hanger. No air or electric tools. All hand ratchet and wrenches. No lift, ladders and some scaffolding. Great job especially for two people. Once you learn a system it gets much easier and stable. Good looking meal. Jeanie with a view. Build up a tower to watch the sunset. Take care, wet a line.
HOLY CRAP! 😱😱😱 I am not a DIY-er so I am absolutely STUNNED at what you have accomplished with shear perseverance and determination! Y’all ROCK! This looks incredible and I am so excited for all that this project will bring to you in the further! Look at all that space! Eric and Arielle, this is marvelous!
Just when I thought the 2 of you couldn’t be more impressive you dooped me. Just seeing all the pieces and nuts and bolts was completely daunting to me I wouldn’t know where to begin! I mean common building a 17 foot building (looks much taller than that) with just 2 people is truly remarkable and I’m in awe! Nice job Ariel and Eric you guys are knocking it out of the park! ❤❤❤
What I love about this, is that you 2 went from doing concrete on a really small slab for your old house stove, and then moved up slowly, but didn't let the "size" or "complexity" of the situation deter you. Here you are, constructing what is essentially the Empire State Building for the "homestead". Good job. There was a point there where I would have said, "I give up", but you pushed forward. Amazing.
My heart was in my mouth all the time you were assembling the Quonset hut. I am a retired professional fabricator. I have built large structures. I always had cranes and other lifting equipment around me. Well done.
Excited to see this one! I had watched last year's mushroom and berry foraging and was hoping you would do that at the new property, so I was pleased to see the mushroom! The chickens look great, and the chicks are growing up, your pets look happy. The quonset hut was so tall that I was getting nervous watching the stacked items😂You guys rock, I had no doubt you could get this put up! Can't wait to see the 2nd segment❤
Is there ANYTHING you two can’t do?!? You continue to amaze me…I can’t wait for the finished Quonset hut and all of the other projects at your new place!
what a treat ! wow, you guys are working soo hard to make dreams become realities, a lesson for us all. Thank you for allowing us to come on this journey with you. Best wishes to you both from the UK.

Assembling that Arch is either a team building exercise or relationship killer! You are both doing great!

To have so much knowledge at such a young age is remarkable. You guys are my heroes 💗. That thing is sooooo huge
Goes without saying he safe
Dinner looks good.
What a team! I was impressed. You two have great attitudes. Most people would get angry but you both figure it out. Congrats.
Eric has a very good way to think things through to get the end result quickly, slowly and patience. Arielle you are a good partner and you are not afraid to get your hands dirty.
As always… love watching you two💜🩵
I am so proud of you guys...independent,,,,self sufficient ....fun loving....enjoying life and working hard....you are great examples to all normal people everywhere....love you both.
Did anyone else hold their breath when they were lifting the Genie off the trailer. 😳. Such a feat of perseverance - nice work!! 💜💜💜
Yeah, let's see them get that Genie back ON the trailer, LOLOLOL.
Yes I did! Squeezing!! 🤣🤣
@@hxhdfjifzirstc894 They may have to take some air out of the trailer tires.?
@@chris3m98that’ll work 😂❤
@@chris3m98 Worst case, I guess they could dig a ditch and ramp, large enough for the trailer to back into, and then drive the lift on, from the high side of the ditch.
Hands up who’s been waiting for this video 🙋🏼♀️ great job as always guys!
We had about 6 huts like yours collapse a few years ago from snow load. The ribs doesn't let the snow slide off. Hope for better results for you guys!
We built one several years ago. We had to put sealer between the sections as we built it. Kind of a pain in the butt. It came in the rolls with the kit. Kind of looked like clay. I didn't see them putting that on.
Our was built for the snow load in our area, which in not much. I plan on removing the snow once a season though as i do not want any surprises :)

You guys are AMAZING…. I just LOVE your partnership and the way you all work together to get things done on your property with impressive efficiency!! Literally and Undeniably a DYNAMIC DUO! 🙌🏽👏🏽🤩🥰
Great job, you two. The sunset after day one of arches was glorious.
Amazing work guys. So nice to see you progressing with this project. Can’t wait to see the finished Quonset hut
Wow, I was mesmerized by the sheer determination, creative solutions and indefatigable hard work. I love watching your projects- great channel!!
My apologies, I'm too late.
I really hope youre wrong also... however these two are smart and will find a solution when the time comes. All will work out eventually :)
Wow, what a job for you two. I love watching your videos. Keep them coming. God bless😊
I think I'm going to watch this video twice. So much going on. You surprise me on every video at how simple you make things happen.
You guys are amazing. It seems there is nothing you two can't do. Keep it up. Lots of folks are cheering for you. Including me.
What a treat! You’ve made my week. The pair of you are amazing, to put together that massive jigsaw puzzle. Well done. You’re creating an huge useful space.
Looks like y’all used every piece of equipment you have on the homestead but you got it done as usual. Nice job. Y’all are amazing.
Y'all are amazing. Nothing you won't tackle and figure out. So impressive. Y'all need to be really proud of yourselves.
When you load the scissor lift up to take it back, extend your backhoe out as far as it will go, and that will help to balance out the load
Just the video I need today, thank you both!!!
Great Job Guys! You'll be done in no time, what a nice shop you two will have! looking forward to the fishing trip! Good Luck!!
I believe they have already posted it, last weeks video.
I can honestly say that y’all have found your groove . Keep up your great work.
You guys are a power couple to be reckoned with! Super pumped to see the progress!
Oh my goodness …you guys are FANTASTIC…not many would tackle that on their own …GREAT JOB🥰
I'm so happy to see the Quonset going up! What a monumental project that you two are just dominating. It's going to look fantastic when it's finished.
Great job putting the arches up Eric and Arielle
You guy’s are such an incredible team!!! ❤❤
Big job! Well done!!! This will be a great workshop to allow for all the projects all year!!!! Dream come true!
You two are killing it. A really hard job and you have found the way to get it done. Stay the course, you are almost there.
Hard work and gourmet dinner atop the genie scissor lift. Always amazing as usual. That salmon looked scrumptious ❤. Well done!
I wish I had a fraction of your determination. You both work so hard and solve your problems with ingenuity.
what a treat ! wow, you guys are working soo hard to make dreams become realities, a lesson for us all. Thank you for allowing us to come on this journey with you. Best wishes to you both from the UK.
LOL yeah, a lot of that stuff is super intuitive. Great work all!
