Hi! Isn't transporting wood from your spruce beetle infested propriety to the new one risky? I would be terrified thinking that I might bring those little buggers to my new place and spread that plague on a new forest.
How sweet to see Bandit back in his happy place, his excavation pond. It was bittersweet seeing you disassemble your old homestead, remembering all the hard work you two loving did these last 4 years and all the adventures you had. But I eagerly await your new adventures. Thanks for sharing all of this with us. Hello, dear Bo, you gentle gentleman, we all love you, I wish I could hug you, and Bandit and Pepper. And Eric and Arielle!
Whoa...please tell me I'm not the only one who shed a tear watching this. My heart is heavy. All those years of watching you guys build up that place and making it your home and now it's time to move on. I guess I'll go cry myself to sleep.
I was feeling so melancholy as I watched them pulling the fences and knew that it had to be so much more for them. When you work so hard to make something out of nothing, it changes you. I haven’t finished watching this episode but it looks like they are NOT doing what I thought when I saw the them bringing the tractor and both trailers. I saw them load up the firewood. 😑 Laugh if you want but I’m upset that they didn’t take their dirt…with the front end loader, they could have loaded that trailer in minutes. Hopefully they will have another shot at transporting the pile.
Seeing Bandit digging in his "pond" again was awesome. That dog likes to dig! It's really bittersweet seeing the old property again because I remember when there was just a basic cabin and an outhouse there. I'm sure you'd have no problem selling the place after all the work you've done on it. And your second property looks great with the gravel!
Yeah, their other property, that will be a nice property for someone, all cleared and a great gravel driveway put in. They’ll get their money out of that when they sell.
Best show on the internet, bar none. The wildlife videos are spectacular and the amount of work you guys do is insane. Today, I planted 9 radish seeds and 4 lettuce seeds, and I’m exhausted!! Live it up while you are young because old age sucks!
Normally, don't have a lot to say, but it's a bit nostalgic to see the tear down of so many projects we've all enjoyed watching you guys build. At the same time it's amazing to see all these experiences build your skill sets. Amazing job guys and super pumped to have yall in our little, middle of nowhere town.
Such a nostalgic moment for me. I found y'all just when you moved to that property. I fell in love with your way of life and work ethic while you were on this property. It is hard yet exciting to see it all be torn down. I guess next year we'll be saying a final goodbye to this property.
Me too..I was very sad watching this episode because I felt like I was part of this journey from the start to finish but I am very excited to what’s next to the new property ❤❤❤
Having joined up with you during the Covid lockdown, I cannot thank you enough for taking many of us out of the confines we were living in and opening up the wonderful world of Alaska and your lives there. It does feel bitter sweet for us to see the end of your lives at the cabin and looking forward to seeing what the future holds for you. Lots of wonderful memories we have shared with you and there will be many more to come. Heartfelt thanks and best wishes to you and your 4 and 2 legged friends. Seeing Bandit in his element in the water again and a touch of sadness to see Bo finding things tough. Best wishes from across the pond in the UK.
Greetings from Pakistan.I still remember when you shifted to Alaska four years back and really appreciate your hard work to develop this property, hopefully you will get reward soon. What a beautiful journey to develop this property to new one.The entire property looks awesome after hard work of few days, specially the driveway.Keep traveling, fishing, hunting, cooking, eating, camping, canning, gardening, working and smiling ❤
I did it again, guys! I literally said to my hubby LAST NIGHT: Let me tell you about my friends in Alaska… This time, he knew I was talking about y’all, and we laughed HARD at my nonsense. And, he started asking more questions… I know he’d like your channel, too. I’m still working on him. Much love from your “friends” in Oklahoma!!! ❤😂

As always, I am so impressed by your work ethic. Not just the sheer amount of effort but also with your recycling and reusing commitment. Waste not want not is a saying made for you two! Well done on all the work and trust everything goes well on the return to the new place.
Haha, you named your scarecrow Russel Crow! Got me laughing. That gladiator wasn’t as good at those hawks as he was in the arena though! Haha! Sad to see the old place torn down, but time to move on and let go. You made some great memories there and we were happy to enjoy them!
You two are so responsible and frugal with everything you do it just amazes me the consistency and drive you have. I am pretty sure that this thing you have is a full and fulfilling life! I feel like I know both of you and look forward to every update.
It’s kind of sad seeing you guys dismantle everything that you worked so hard to build and make it your home for four years, but it’s also very heartwarming to see how hard you’re working to rebuild your new life on the new property. Bandit seemed to be enjoying himself in the old digs! Life goes on no matter where you make your home, right? Can’t wait to see the Quonset hut finished! I love your channel! Good luck! 😊
Its amazing how invested your viewers are in this property! Speaks volumes for you and your channel. I have loved watching you work this property and also excited to follow you through new adventures. This is really one of the best channels on UA-cam.
I would love to know how many Branson tractors have been purchased thanks to your quality presentations of a superior product!!! Worth every penny and more than paid for itself. Thank you for allowing us old people to live vicariously through you and your incredible life! ❤❤❤
Awe, so sweet watching Bandit enjoying his old stomping ground..you guys are awesome, crazy amount of work in just a few days...I love the fall, beautiful pictures and videos..good job, thanks for sharing
The changing of the seasons is always so bittersweet. Just as the end of summer brings its bounty of fruits, veggies and beauty, it also reminds us that winter is right around the corner. Hope you both can enjoy the literal and figurative changing of your own seasons 💚 thank you for including us on your journey. You’ve inspired my husband and me to take on so many new projects at our own tiny homestead. Cheers from Ohio 🙂
🤔235 lbs of firewood. You guys rock!!! We lived in Alaska on the Kenai peninsula for 26 years. We had ran sawmill down in Kasilof. Certain parts of it we do miss, but Arizona has been good to us.
Your first homestead looks beautiful - so much work. I remember watching when you got there for the first time! You both are amazing and I'm looking forward to seeing all the changes at your homestead further north!
Ugh I got a little emotional even as a viewer when you bulldozed the garden :(.... I know how important that space was for you two and how much hard work you put in. You guys are incredible as always in your teamwork and support to one another on these big projects. Can't wait to see what you do with the new garden space! I'm so excited!
Why am I crying, it’s so sad yet it’s time to move on to bigger and greater things. You guys put so much hard work and love into this place over the years. Bandit is just living his best life in the water and mud.
This was definitely bittersweet to watch. I came across your channel when you were living and working at this property. I am happy for both of you and your fur babies that new opportunities and adventures are yet to come at the new homestead! You both make such a great couple and team!! Thank you for letting us have a window into your lives. ❤🙏🏻
Oh I feel you on the hawk part. We didnt have problem for almost 2 yrs. Our chickens were free range until the ravens were devouring our older chicks, 19 out of 34 killed. It was hard because I had to deal with it alone because Hubby were out of town. And they kept coming back and steal our eggs too(our bantam rooster is not really good at protecting the place, LOL). We decided to put the net poultry over. They(4 of them) tried to break the netting, they had no luck. It’s been few months now since it happened but they still keep coming back from time to time.
Seeing Bandit in his happy place brought a lump to my throat. Lovely memories for you on that property to mull over for years to come. Nice to see the place again. X
Just a tip for you homesteaders. I vest in a good pair of fencing pliers. Makes removing those staples easy by having an "eagle beak" type plier on the front. Tool was literally made to install all types of wire fencing. Even has a hammer head end.
Never thought watching UA-cam would bring out such emotions! We have watched from the beginning and now we get to watch another adventure with you! Can’t wait!! Bandit digging in his pond choked me up! What was that all about? You two are thought of so much. So onward to your newest adventure!👍
I guessed just under 2 cords. I really came here to compliment both of you on your work ethic and love for life. The level of respect that you show to nature, all wildlife (including your animals), and materials is impressive. Huge props for the professional level efforts that go into the planning, preparation, filming, and editing. This channel often reminds me of Sunday evening television from over 50 years ago….after running at full tilt all week and Saturday, after dinner was THE time that dad wanted to spend with us watching wholesome television where he and his 4 boys would vicariously visit places in nature. Sunday (including dinner & tv) plus two weeks every summer, when we would go primitive camping on an island was “his time”.
It's so bittersweet to watch this property be taken down but I'm so excited for what you'll do at your new place! Once again you two have done a truly obscene amount of work! Stay cool up there❤
🛑 it has not been 4 years that I’ve followed your journey. That’s amazing! I live vicariously through your videos, get inspired, try out your recipes, and enjoy the sights you share of Alaska. Thank you ❤ looking forward to what’s to come with the new homestead.
What a journey. I've followed you guys since the beginning and it's kinda sad to see all of your hard work being torn down but I'm equally excited to watch you build your new home! Thanks for bringing us along with you so we can live vicariously through you!
I have so enjoyed watching you two improve your little cabin, planning your garden, coaxing food out of the ground. Y’all are not afraid of hard work…that is so refreshing. Now, it’s time for a new season, and I’m excited for you. Y’all embody the American spirit, and I don’t say that lightly. God speed.
Here’s hoping all your hard work on the “old” place is a springboard for another couple who yearn for the Alaska experience. As usual, your maintenance is well directed. Great video as usual!
Congratulations guys! You've done and learned so much from this property, but time for the next chapter! Excited to see what's in store for you and the channel. Side note: it's amazing how quickly nature reclaims the land in Alaska!
Sad but exiting at the same time...new adventures begin! I´ve been lucky, for the 13 yrs I´ve had chickens and only lost 5-6 to the dove hawk...until this summer. One hawk is smart enough to remember where to get food and I´ve lost 5 animals and that´s a lot for my small group. I´m devastated especially as I bought new chicks this spring. So the ladies is inside the hen house at the moment and we have to split the coop and get a net above it.
After being with you from very nearly the beginning of your Alaskan adventures, it was kind of bittersweet to watch you closing the old place down. Your new place is incredible and I'm sure the adventure will continue!! We'll all be here cheering you on! ❤️
It's so strange seeing you move on from the last cabin I started watching you as you were doing the road trip moving to Alaska. I loved watching everything you did at last cabin now we get to start all over. 💜
Awwwww, Bandit playing in his favorite place. I was thinking exactly what you said about the garden. I remember seeing all your hard work. It’s good if you’re able to reuse anything. Hopefully the old place and vacant lot will go to some other couples starting their Alaskan dream! Looking forward to all the things happening at the new property! Take care and God bless y’all! 😀❤️
It's always a great pleasure to see each video you put out. Lot of work putting all the fencing and garden in and work on the chicken coop, and house, but still can't wait to see what you will be doing at the new home place! Love you guys!!!
I found myself thinking you guys must have thought about all the hard work, good times, and good food you made in the past 4 years. It’s truly bittersweet I’m sure. But we all know life changes and we move on and memories fade with time. You kids please be careful and stay healthy and safe. Loved this video as always. God bless you both.
The best part of your recent adventure was seeing the red crossbills at the end of the video. I lived in North Dakota and Minnesota most of my 80 years and fed them often at my winter feeding stations. I no longer reside in the North Country and have not seen red crossbills in years. I relate to many of your experiences as my early years growing up in ND was with out electricity, running water, indoor plumbing OR TELEPHONE.
Hero's I'll tell ya. Just hero's. This and that but movin on. So brave. Hard working. Movin on. Hero's you guys are hero's ~ just push push push. Do you talk about that? Wow. So drive all day and work all night. Wow. I can not wait to see some "relaxation" at home for you guys. Whew! I'll tell ya. ~~~ ✨🌸💥🙏💥🌸✨ ~~~
Having watch you guys moving to Alaska, building all the stuff and created an abundant garden it's quite sad to see it gone. The dog will miss his little pond for sure.. We can't wait to see what wonderful things you will be creating for the future
Catching up on some videos because UA-cam turned off my notifications for your channel somehow 🙄. Heartfelt emotions as you so quickly destroyed in hours much of what you strategized and erected for the past 4 years! So glad that you are repurposing so much for your new property as it will save you much time, money, and resources to simply reconstruct. Wondering why you simply aren't selling now to no longer have that distant worry of a second home left behind? I may have missed a beat this summer. @Simple Alaska Living. Bandit pawmarking his little pond with his scent was precious!
What a journey it has been for you and for all of us that have watched you build your life in Alaska. All of the work and effort that you have put into it and to now see you take it all apart, there is a bit of sadness that goes with that. I am a bit curious about your move further north? What you have created at your new home is really amazing! Good For You! We look forward to what you have to share with us in the future. Keep moving forward and thank you.
I love watching you two with each other. There seems to be so much respect for one another. You each play off the others strengths and your teamwork is in sync. You truly compliment each other. I'm sure you're glad each of you drove in separate vehicles after that 5 day stint. 😂. Love your channel!
Hello Eric & Arielle, you are a breath of Fresh Air! Can’t wait to see what this episode brings! I’ll update when it’s done! I must admit I’m very happy for everything you have accomplished… yet this whole breaking down of this homestead has brought tears to my old eyes! You are letting go with such class… you know how to transition! Kudos to you!💞 …PS what were those birds at the end?
@@zebediah007I believe you are correct. When I saw the two in the tree, I immediately thought Crossbills. I've only ever seen one in my life, and that was in my backyard in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan around 1997. I spent a lot of time watching the different Grosbeaks, and knew about the Crossbill. I was very excited to see one. Take care Zebediah🐦🦅🦆🦢🦉
Hi Guys I'm so sorry sweet Bo is not doing well - hope it's nothing serious. Loved watching Bandit playing in the pond. I thought it would be sad but you made it nice for the next tenant and salvaged so much for your new home. Those birds at the end were beautiful and unique
I’ve watched your adventures since you first made the decision to move to Alaska. Watching you breakdown your original Alaska home was kind of melancholy, but life is an adventure that keeps moving forward! 🏠🏠🚜
Hi Guys! So sad watching the old homestead being taken apart😢 My husband and I did have a chuckle….. a year ago or so we were watching one of your shows. You were out in the garden and when I looked up from a craft I was working on I saw the birdhouse on the pole. Well, I thought because of the angle it was a lookout post! 😂😂 My husband had said what in the world are you talking about it’s a birdhouse! Oh my gosh so last night my husband said hey there’s the lookout! Oh boy never going to live that down! We love your channel and all the exciting things you’re doing at the new property. Take care❤
It was so nice but a bit sad to see the end of the first homestead. I was so happy to see your taking some of it with you. The work you both have done on both properties is nothing short of amazing. I can't wait to see what you do next! Now take some time and go do something fun!
The end of one adventure and into the new chapter in your lives. Awesome closure. Great maintenance, great clean up, properly being prepared for the next new adventure folks. Blessing from Santa Rosa, Ca💕
After spending many happy hours watching you guys build all of this, it is sad to see it taken down. Now, we get to see you build a new place and I'm sure it is going to be spectacular. Bandit is going to miss his bog.
Your posts are so satisfying. Selling a property that is well cared for and in good condition, making good reuse of materials rather than buying new. Always a pleasure seeing your accomplishments. Especially remembering the move and the first view of the cabin. It's still a fantastic channel with your truly interesting content.
A lot to do, and you did a lot of it. Great teamwork, tinged with some sadness of course. It's been a real journey here even for us viewers. Nice to think it's getting back to a fairly normal state for whoever comes to explore it next. Nice etiquette. Have a good week. Be well. 😉
My favorite couple moving on in life, its hard to let go of the old, but greater things are coming with the new place. Can see you are very caring couple that you want to leave the old place like it has been your home a good while. love you guys and I know alot of goodness is coming your way.❤❤👍👍🙏🙏🌹🌹🌹🌻🌻🌻
Your page & videos are a refreshing change from the norm and we all appreciate your commitment to excellence. You have zero promotional selling of your name and brand, unlike so many other pages that sell their souls to monitize themselves. That is why your page is growing steadily and your integrity is intack. We all look forward to enjoying all future shares from you . . .
I feel like I’m saying goodbye to an old friend, thanks for taking me along with the ups, downs, the oops and the triumphs. Also your cinematography has become an absolute joy to travel through the hills and mountains of your home ❤🥰🙋♀️
Build yourself a nice deep box filled with concrete hook to your 3 point hitch for weight on the back .. what we always did to our tractors for that counter weight we needed on the back ..
Great video! Sad to see the "old" place going away. But so excited to see what all you do on the "new" place. You guys have so many ideas its very fun to watch all that you do. You have been blessed with an abundant amount of energy that you are putting to good use.
You are both so awesome to watch on this channel. I love your mutual respawns drive to get tasks done. I love your ideas and respect for the land and life.
It is bittersweet to see all the projects and buildings that you both have done over the, however, you are off to new horizons. My wife and I appreciate your hard work as we used to do some of the things you both do but on a smaller scale. We are happy for you both and are living the dream. Watching you do all these new things tires us out, glad it's you and not us at our ages. Thank you for giving your time and effort in order to entertain us here in Pennsylvania.
Another great video. And, being raised with the "make do and mend" mindset, I'm just thrilled you're able to collect and re-use so much of the stuff you had both already put so much time, money, and effort into having. ❤ Plus I love that you're making these two properties look their best for their next owners. You've shown how properties there are sold "as is" with all sorts of junk still in them, so making sure what is left by you is clean, neat, and tidy really shows what caring, thoughtful people you are. Finally, I guessed 2 cords, so way off. 😂 But very relieved you're taking it home with you, as I was worried you'd not had time to stock up at the new place. Great stuff you two. As always, I love and admire your work ethics.❤
Eric, please please be careful on that tractor without the rear counterweight. Besides the rollover risk, the added load on the front axle can be really rough on it and lead to catastrophic failures. One thing you can make for yourself is a compact counterweight, by casting a concrete block around a 3-point hitch receiver/tow bar adapter. The beet juice option others have suggested can be good, but then you always have the extra weight, which can be inconvenient. Anyway, you two continue to be an inspiration to us on our homestead in Palmer! Keep being awesome!
It Was nice seeing the old place again. Loved seeing the garden growing like a jungle. Hope the extra property sells quickly. Can only imagine what the new homestead will turn into. Have a wonderful week.
Hey Y'all! We have said before math is not our strong suit. Some of you may catch that our trailer load of wood was miscalculated.

Math isn't my strong suit either. Give me calculator.
My guess is 2.5 cords.
Hi! Isn't transporting wood from your spruce beetle infested propriety to the new one risky? I would be terrified thinking that I might bring those little buggers to my new place and spread that plague on a new forest.
Slightly less than a cord and half
That was only 18 inches tall? I must be greatly over estimating the length of my Johnson. Yikes!!!
You two have no clue how much I look forward to watching your videos each week. Thank you for sharing your life with us!

It breaks my heart too.

Yeah, their other property, that will be a nice property for someone, all cleared and a great gravel driveway put in. They’ll get their money out of that when they sell.
I hope that they post the for sale links to their UA-cam channel first. A lot of us would like to own property we have “seen” before in Alaska.
It just makes me sick to think of leaving behind that beautiful soil!

I’m from a family of hard working people. I have never in my life seen 2 people get so much done. Remarkable.
We appreciate that :)
Tool
was literally made to install all types of wire fencing.
Stunning how quickly Nature reclaims the soil. It was poignant to see the garden being plowed up. It gave you so much for your hard work.
It's so bittersweet to watch this property be taken down but I'm so excited for what you'll do at your new place! Once again you two have done a truly obscene amount of work! Stay cool up there❤
Arielle, you're a very capable woman! So proud of you.
Everything is looking great!
Enjoy seeing you work as a team.
God speed.
P 0:48 😮😊k😊remember
Here’s hoping all your hard work on the “old” place is a springboard for another couple who yearn for the Alaska experience. As usual, your maintenance is well directed. Great video as usual!
16:36 Bandit digging in the swamp. Gotta love that dog.
Congratulations guys! You've done and learned so much from this property, but time for the next chapter! Excited to see what's in store for you and the channel. Side note: it's amazing how quickly nature reclaims the land in Alaska!
How fantastic to see you all grow and develop. I am sure the more modern appliances will be appreciated at your new place.
I love how your videos are a mix of you guys working and the natural beauty of the Alaskan plants, animals and of course the beautiful scenery.
Thank you :)
I remember the drive from Oregon to this first home in Alaska! Yall are so awesome, and I have enjoyed each video. Here's to many more!! Thank you ❤️
This was so emotional to watch I really loved this property… Can’t wait to see the amazing things you will do next 🌷🌷🌷
I'm autistic and dogs make me feel so happy. Thank you for including Bo and Bandit. I love them
miss everything about your old homestead especially the amazing garden
Wow you two never cease to amaze me how hard of workers you two are. I’ve watched y’all for a few years now and still look forward to every video.
It's so strange seeing you move on from the last cabin I started watching you as you were doing the road trip moving to Alaska. I loved watching everything you did at last cabin now we get to start all over. 💜
That’s when I started watching them too and have been here for every adventure. ❤ these guys.
@@LetsFaceThis ...and that's when I started watching as well. I, really, enjoy their adventures.

Same
Me, too! Not sure how I came across their channel but so glad I did!
"we're gonna keep it easy and just to some HARD physical labor..." that is SO Eric and Arielle!
The two of you are an amazing team, working hard getting stuff done.
We’ve never met but I refer to y’all as my “Alaska friends.” Thank you for sharing your lives with us.
❤
Having watch you guys moving to Alaska, building all the stuff and created an abundant garden it's quite sad to see it gone. The dog will miss his little pond for sure.. We can't wait to see what wonderful things you will be creating for the future
I was hoping you'd keep the soil after so many $$1,000's in soil amendments but I'm sure you know what's best ❤so happy for you guys
Kudos to you!💞 …PS what were those birds at the end?
finches. They come from imported birds which were kept in captivity and some escaped The re persisted
I think that they are The Two-barred Crossbill (Loxia leucoptera) a small finch, common in Alaska.
They are crossbills.
Take care❤
I felt sad watching this video. Oh! The old homestead that gave us your viewers happiness when watching your videos around it.
I always love reading the comments on your videos. So many kind and positive people! We all just love you and are cheering you on!
It's an awesome community ❤
Everything grows up so fast! You all have worked so hard on this property! I hope you’re able to sell it quickly!
Always admiring your work ethics………quality work by quality people !
You should of took the bird house
I just wish they would tell us what becames of the cabin by the river side.
I think they said they're selling that too.
@@TheresaPowers We are keeping our lakeside cabin, we have just not been able to get out there this year :)
Hug those wonderful old doggies!
Bet you guys are excited to set up your new gardens
We are very excited 😄
We all look forward to enjoying all future shares from you . . .
Asking for donations is NOT selling their soul. It is a way for them to support themselves and their endeavors.
Hugs to Bandit, Bo and Pepper!!😊❤
One of the most productive gardens ever to grace UA-cam. Especially impressive since y’all’s growing season is like 3 weeks🤣🤣
Bandit is going to miss his pond! I think he was warning you not to mess with his pond😁Have a great day guys!
Bittersweet here too...I remember when they pulled up to this property. Wow what an adventure!
❤
I´ve never seen anybody work as hard as you two, guys...Since the first video you didn´t stopped. You deserve the best. !!!! Regards from Argentina
lol Russell “Crow”. Frontier humor. You kids are amazing workers.
Bandit says, “No! I will not leave my bog!”
Also.. sniffle.. sad to see that little property be dismantled.
