Great video. I purchased a Ram Longhorn in Jan. I’m from Canada Manitoba. With our very cold weather this truck started with no issues. Not even plugged in. By far the best riding truck I ever owned. I had them all. I have 11 thousand kilometres now and so far so good. Gas mileage has dramatically improved. On the highway I got 20 miles per gallon
It's definitely the BEST RIDING truck I've ever owned and have other truck owners say the exact same thing. I'm wondering why the other makes don't mimic the interior and ride, which is what Ram has over the others at the moment.
Kenneth Allen so true. GMC is very very outdated in there interiors. Nice on the outside but that’s it. Ford has better interior design but Ram hit it out of the park for not that much more money.
Nice, got mine in Feb and now over 32,000 km and no issues. I drive a fair bit for work so the smooth ride, as far as trucks go is essential. I spent the previous 2.5 years, doing the same driving but in a 2016 Chev 2500 and I'm just glad I didn't have to have my fillings replaced. No comparison, not even close.
@ for myself it has been great. Absolutely great. Had an issue with the rear window leaking. Covered under warranty. Bought in 2019 Ram Longhorn. My main reason for choosing this truck was the power train. Hemi and ZF transmission. Great power plant and over all reliable.. I do do all my maintence and always have with all my vehicles. I’m at 100,000 Kilometers now 60 thousand miles. Still low miles but still feels like the day I bought it and no other issues.
For the back up camera I had to do this a couple times when working at a dealer. Unscrew the plates in the tail gate, disconnect the connector for the camera, apply a small amount of dielectric grease, do the same at the connector going into the bed, this fixed every truck we had with the issue
Thanks for this great content! I just bought my first truck ever... RAM 1500 Bighorn....and enjoy it like crazy. Great power and what a smooth ride. The thing that I found interesting is the back-up camera green lines. I had exactly the same issue and when taking it to the dealership, it never did the same(good thing I recorded it). Even sent them the link to this video 😉. Again, keep posting
Not to pry, but I have wanted a Limited. Looked at a night loaded with everything, a 2020. It had 10,000 miles and was the most decked out interior i have ever seen. A caddy does not have that Quality of leather. The sales guy bolted early the day i was going to buy it. He said he would call me back with best price. He was gone for 2 days, and the sold it by the time i got back there. Their sticker was 52,000. Off road, ram boxes night edition sun roof 12 inch screen. I looked at 2021 models 76,000! I wanted to know what price you paid for the limited?
Just picked up the same truck 2020 model and the auto shut off is gone. First thing I looked for when I sat in it at the dealership! Thanks for the heads up.
Interesting that it still shuts off when A/C is on. Our BMW car ignores the auto-shut-off if you have the A/C cranked, which is a nice, thoughtful touch.
Driving the same little 2 door 4 cylinder Pontiac since the summer of 06 when gas prices spiked to $4 per gallon (Florida). My brother just bought one of these 2020 Ram Bighorns and I got to drive it in city and highway conditions. What a pleasure. Can't believe how well it handles and just love all the interior bells and whistles. Love using the little round knob to easily move from park-reverse-drive. Love the digital display. Connecting my smartphone to the display Bluetooth was easy.
On your plug for your trailer, the issue can be solved simply by purchasing an adapter that goes from the 4 wire plug to the larger plug on the bottom.
clarks2001 they actually did. The reason they don’t have it as a option for the 1500, the specs isn’t any better than the 5.7l. There was a rumoured hell cat ram a few years ago announced. Not sure why they cancelled it
@@bradc7720 Exactly, its tuned for towing not for speed. Id rather tune and mod the 5.7. Few simple tricks can extract enough power to match a 6.4. That motor is also heavier I'd assume, stupid to put in a 1500.
Just turned over 28,440 miles on my 2016 Ram Crew Sport. No major issues , though the 2nd time I used the windshield wipers, the wiper motor quit. Got a loaned car for the rainy weekend. I have taken several trips to Las Vegas from SoCal. I averaged between 24-26 mpg each way. I am very happy with the mileage. Added locks to my under floor compartments, tailgate snubber, running board steps and a few other items as well. I really like the new style of the RAM, but I have an incredible factory warranty that was offered for a VERY short time. So I plan on keepiong this Truck a very long time! :-)
I have never own a new ride, but I bought a 2017 1500 ram longhhorn laramie and let me tell you sir I love it, it was well taking care of. This truck has all the bell and whistle. Buddy I fell in love.
My mom has the same 2019 ram 1500, Appearance package lighting everything it's really nice, And our Ram came with the adapter needed to fix the issue you were having. And another nice thing is the Ram boxes, A lot dealerships didn't get the Rams with the Ram boxes but my mom got her Ram with them, They are really nice and convenient just like the Ram bins.
The plug for the back up camera is just under the rear bumper. It looks like a coaxial cable for your tv but smaller. Unplug it, blow it out and plug it back in. Mine has blue screened several times and that fixed it.
@@datguy8371 That would work too, he has a unique situation, most trailer users don't have the need to pull trailers with the tailgate down. And some trailers can't be pulled with the tailgate down due to clearance issues. I would just buy a $10 adapter and keep it in the glove box for this situation.
Toby MT1925 our a little filling on the top of the plug shroud. Granted after spending that kind of money I wouldn’t think I’d have to do that but to save paint and potential rust.....
Ive heard some ppl saying dodge has reliability issues. Ive had 2 Rams and 2 V8 Dakota's. Other than a starter on my ram I've never had one problem. That truck had 312 thousand miles on it when I sold it.
I've heard of old rams having reliability issues my dad had a 2002 which had transmission, differential, and ECU issues all the time and now whenever I mention a ram to my parents they say they're pure garbage😂but I always tell them the newer ones are better they dont believe me lol
@@jesxs8485 haha! Can't say I blame them if they had that much trouble. You'll get a lemon here and there from all brands tho. I wasn't much of a Dodge fan before but definitely been converted. They haven't been the greatest on mpg but that might have been made alot worse by this led foot of mine to
@@jeremyjenkins9859 Lol! Same here though, was never a huge fan but these new models definitely caught my attention. Might get one for my pops next year for the sole reason of changing his mind about rams.
@@jeremyjenkins9859 brand loyalty is okay but hating on other brands is stupid. All the new trucks out these days are all great. I share a 2019 f350 powerstroke with a ton of options on it with my dad and it's a great truck. But he drives a 2016 2500 Silverado vortec and that truck has no issues as well. The new rams are also great. We test drove a 2019 3500 srw mega cab and it was awesome. It wasn't the high output with the better trans but it still drove the same as the ford imo.
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 and its at 200K no issues. just regular maint. and still running really strong. No Tranny or engine issues at all. They are great trucks!!! I will be getting a new 2019 or 2020 Limited....this coming summer.
If I'm not mistaken - on the F150 putting a dummy plug in the tow hitch that makes the truck think it's.towing will shut off the auto start stop - maybe it works on the ram?
Beautiful looking truck. I just bought my first ever new ford and the backup camera resolution is horrible. Come on ford. And interiors way more refined on Ram.
Really nice looking truck, congrats! Very simple and honest review! Not once you wasted time overdoing your opinion. You pointed out a like or a dislike and stated your take on an easy to understand reason. Very well done :) Sure everything can be personal opinion, except the towing connector VS tailgate fiasco! WTH Ram? Hopefully you don't scuff your tailgate by accident. But don't stress out, every manufacturer does a fiasco on their products [not an excuse automakers ):( ] I personally own an F150 for 2 years now (2 F150 in a row - 6 years, total happy ownership). It has fiascos as well, but I love it with no need be biased or fan boy. Not perfect, but perfect for my needs. I'm a truck guy and like them all. Each have pros and cons. Preferences, preferences. Let's respect each others. Keep rolling and posting your clean videos and opinions. It is super nice to "travel" inside other trucks while having a nice "conversation". Enjoy every minute of your truck! Cheers!
GO ahead and buy an extension (or adapter) for the trailer plug. That way you don't have to put up with that first world problem :). You also get the 'happiness plus' factor in that you can stow extension in that rear floorboard bin. Oh and not sure if your Dodge is like my wife's car (chevy cruze) but when engine shuts off at light she can just lift the brake a tad and engine with come back on. The car doesn't have a switch to turn that feature off at all but perhaps it's time to start googling for that plug in..
If you go to a parts store you can buy a 7 pin to 4 pin trailer plug in adapter for around 10 dollars and use the bottom trailer plug in and eliminate your problem
I own a 2019 Ram and my backup camera started to glitch. I took it to the dealership and they said it was the uconnect that needed to be updated. They updated it for me and now it works fine. I hope this helps.
I'm in FL too and my car has the same feature. However, fortunately, BMW is smart enough to know that if the AC is on and is set to high, then engine auto shut off should be off.
The 2019 Ram has a similar limitation and will prevent Stop/Start if such a condition is met. But if you're trying to cool yourself off with the temperature set to 71° and fan speed set to 3, you're gonna get frustrated.
I basically have the same truck minus the etorque, but add 3.92 gears. Best truck I’ve owned so far and I’ve had Ford and GMC previously. I have 8,300 miles with no issues other than Apple CarPlay doesn’t always load immediately which isn’t often, but I unplug it and replug it back in. It’s happened like 5 times. I keep track of my mileage on a spreadsheet and have averaged 17.6 overall which includes a trip to Florida and several trips hauling the boat. The dash reading shows 18.5 or 19 so a little off and I’ve never reset it on trip B. Trip A I reset each tank. 12-13 towing and 18-21 commuting. For your towing receptacle issue, I’d get a seven pin conversion to four pin. It would then be in the bottom socket.
Bought 1500 classic last year. Had zero issue. Loved it , but... Few weeks ago sold it and got Ram 1500 hemi Sport ( Laramie Sport for you in US ). Here in Canada it's just Sport . Black inside, black outside. Didn't go for sunroof and 12" screen. At my dealership they had few leaking once and some problems with 12" . Don't know, never use sunroof anyway... What can I say ,Classic was good truck ,this one 2020 Sport is just new level. Great truck. Love it . Plus I've got complementary extended warranty...
@@SM0K13Z as of two days, nope, dropped it off at the dealership and it's prob getting ready to be resold like they do most lemons.. lemon lawed :) I can send you my lawyer and case papers if you would like...
@@ncstate220 how did your car get lemon lawed? I'm really curious, that almost never happens with ANY car these days.... so what went wrong with yours....?
I bought a 2020 1500 longhorn yesterday and I swear if feels like I’m driving an s class. Never thought I’d ever spend that much on a truck. I have one 75 miles on the truck so we’ll see about its reliability.
in reference to the camera issue: lower the tailgate and in between the bed and tailgate you will see a wire harness. get some sticky backed zip tie keepers, pull that wire harness up to the tailgate surface and zip tie up so it stays put. I had the same camera issues with my 17 limited (just got rid of last week) and it turns out that the wiring harness will drop down between the tailgate and bed causing it to get pinched and jerked around. I zip tied mine up and never had an issue again
You can avoid the rubbing of the trailer plug cover on the tailgate by getting an adaptor for the larger plug in, that way you have to lift the bottom cover up to plug in the wire harness.
I'm not sure I can ever get used to a hockey puck shift knob instead of a traditional center console stick shift. How do you guys like it? Get used to it???
The compressor is engine-driven. So while the climate fans will continue to operate as normal, you'll no longer receive any air that's colder than ambient.
Get a 7 pin to 4 pin connector for the trailer light hook up, problem solved. Will not hit the tailgate. As for the reliability, I have 89,000 on my 2019 and only had 1 issue. The fuel gauge stopped working at around 45,000. Fixed under warranty. It's been a great truck for me. Nice review and nicer truck!
The main reason to get a tundra is the reliability, if every person was getting a vehicle with only that in mind then everyone would have Toyota’s. Tundra will definitely last forever but I don’t think I can drive the same vehicle for more than 10yrs. Gotta enjoy the new features of modern vehicles.
JJM 05 Last forever? Do you realize that the Tundra is the worst 1/2 tone truck in safety measures!? Do you realize that the Tundra didn’t even make the list of trucks to last over 200,000 miles. Lol. They don’t have a good record of continuing over 200,000 miles but they will last forever. You do also realize the Tundra is all American made right! The Japanese do not build 8 Cylinders
rcmckonly8 I don’t like tundra, most people who get them is because of expected reliability, but yeah the tundras are way in the past. I would rather drive a Ford or Ram because they are built for today’s standards.
Understand the problem with the trailer connection and your frustration. You can buy an adapter to plug your trailer into the 7 pin connector for not a lot of $$.
love the truck, I have the same one. One a trip from Central TX to AZ I was getting 19-21 mpg at an average of 80+ mph... which I LOVED! I sit around 15-18 in the city.
I shopped long and hard for a full-sized 2019 pickup with price, features and mileage being the main drivers. I looked primarily at Toyota, Ford, GMC and Ram. Some things I wanted were a V-8 engine, a bench seat and a limited slip rear end with 4-Wheel Drive and two-tone paint. This combination of options because of the six passenger configuration force me to accept a mid-class model in all brands except the Ram. The Ram offered the upgrade of leather interior while the others only offered cloth. Long story short, I bought a 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie Crew Car 4 X 4 with everything I wanted and more options than I will ever use. It listed for $57,125, and bought it for $45,000 out the door plus tags, tax and title. None of the other models remotely came close with an all cash, no trade offer to buy. I have now had the Ram for six months with 2700 miles on it, and its combined mpg for 2700 miles is 20.1 mpg. I live in the East Tennessee hills and I have made a round trips to Kokomo, Indiana and Baltimore, Maryland. Show me a Ford, GMC or Toyota with a 395 hp engine That can get that mileage, and I will gladly admit I made a mistake. I do not solicit comments from anyone, but people voluntarily say to me, "What a beautiful truck."
Travis Lewis I pretty much got the same deal too. My truck was stickers at 52,000 and we got it around 45,000. Just got it at the right time of year with good factory incentives. We also traded in my tundra and our car and got the truck and another car.
Hey considering those two things are you only real complaints about the truck, that's not bad at all.. I love my 19 ram 1500 laramie. Only issue I have is the gas mileage sucks big time but I don't really care too much anyway. My truck is 4x4 with the 3.92 ratio on the gearing (or something like that) so I only get around 13mpg around town. But it sure does tow good and can't get stuck in anything lol.. I love it!
My daughter needs that auto shut off. She's actually locked her car up a couple of times running with the key still in the ignition (2008 CRV) all day.... I drive a 2013 Chrysler 300s and I have never had a single issue with the U Connect or the back up feature glitching etc. I am looking to trade for a new truck and so I appreciate your unbiased review of the RAM.
I have a 2019 1500 Laramie 4x4 without the start/stop system and love it. Thank's for letting me know about the plug problem in the back... I have no used it yet, but will keep that in mind that it can rub against the tailgate, if it is down.
Great review. That trailer plug would be annoying. You could maybe trim the top plastic off of the cover for clearance. I'm surprised they didn't catch that.
Just a heads up you can get an adapter from Walmart for the trailer lights so you can plug your wire into the bottom plug and not have to deal with the tailgate issue
I went from a 05 f150 xlt to a 2019 Laramie Sport. 14 months later, i still feel great about my purchase . Huge dicounts at the time I bought mine. $15,000 under msrp. I keep my vehicles for a long time, so time will be the final judge. So far so good.
Hey RC, I liked the video and subscribed. I'm on my 2nd RAM 1500 leased, 2017 and now the 2019. In addition to your list of likes/dislikes I just wanted to add I loved both trucks and had zero problems with the 2016. The 2019 had to have the gas tank replaced because of 'known' tripping the pump release during gas filling (covered by dealer). The front parking sensors stopped working and show service needed. Dealer says a rock must have hit front sensor and caused it to fail. (not covered by warranty) and will cost $700. to replace that 1 sensor. crazy to think every time a rock hits the bumper, may cost me that to restore this feature. The sensors are a great and necessary feature but they need to make them easier to replace then. These 2019 sensors list for $210. on the web. Just FYI to every one. Love everything else.
I didn’t have a choice. I guess I could of told them to rip out the bed liner yes but then I would of had to come out of pocket for the spray liner. When I bought this truck there were no others with this package available without ordering so I got what I got. When you want a certain look your options are limited
Just got into a ‘19 big horn, came from a ‘16 big horn. Also had an ‘07 1500 Hemi and ‘17 3.6 ram. Both 4x4 CCSB Hemis, and I gotta say, the small things about the 5th gens make it worth the upgrade. Everything just seems…better? Engine tune might be the same, but it drives better. 4x4 feels much more responsive. Brakes are much much better. Suspension is much better. They did a great job. They’re great trucks. I love how they look, handle, drive, everything.
Does the start/stop disable hack that worked on the Fords, work on the Rams? I think it was like a $7 plug dead-wired that you plugged into the towing harness and the truck automatically disables start/stop cause it thinks you are towing. I agree with you, messing with it every time you are in the car is a PIA.
I average 19 mpg on the highway in my Scat Pack. Considering this truck, glad to see it’s about the same. Wish it came with more aggressive off-road tires of the lot.
I like the new rams but only issue i have there is no single cab. As for now i will keep my 2015 and start putting my headers with no cats and tune my transmission and engine. Hopefully they can bring the single cab.
rcmckonly8 as far as I know The new Chevy/gmc and tundra have killed the single cabs . Only In the Middle East they have the Trail boss and RST single cab and AT4. Those trucks look mean !! Hopefully single cabs are back. I personally don’t want and need a 4 door. Never was a fan of it .
Luis Perez I meant the Ram but I see Chevy and GMC single cabs (not the newest gen yet) all the time here in Florida. Toyota’s yeah they haven’t made one for a while
I have a 2018 tundra SR5 crew max with the 5.7 engine and HATE IT! Doesnt do well with my 6200 lb travel trailer. When my trailer is in use, I get an average of 7.2 MPG (have only used my trailer in Texas). By chance, do you pull with your truck? If so, what MPG do you get? I am counting the down the days to trade in my Tundra
I dont have anything big really that i can give a real comparison. We do plan on getting a 20" equipment trailer and a 4 seater sxs but as of right now all i tow is two quads
Wait till you get a about 35,000 miles on it. Not sure if they redesigned their suspension but my ram had a bunch of problems with the suspension. Oh yeah and to fix the clattering noise in the engine because the lifters don’t get oil quick enough treat your engine worth Zmax it’s 20 bucks at Walmart and fixed my problem so I am a huge believer in it. If you’re not sure what I’m talking about research it dodge roller rockers fail at about 80,000 miles
Eric Buchta everybody is trying to tell me ram is best? Idk. It's a big risk to spend that much money on. In past ford and Chevy were better than any dodge product....
Ps. As for the auto shut. Can’t you change the setting to sport? I have the auto shut also in the Highlander, which is linked to Eco. But I hate it. So I always change it to Sport mode. The annoying part is that I have to change it every time I start the car. The Sport mode gives it more power and performance. But of course burns more gas.
I ordered a 2021 rebel with the multifunction tailgate, just curious if you looked into it at all and your thoughts on it? And as for your plug, you could trim that cover piece down a little bit.
Bought 2020 looks just like yours. Driving off lot radio didn't have volume. Was told to bring back because techs weren't there.. Brought back on following Monday to have radio flashed. After they said it was fixed got in truck to leave still not working. Now they want me to bring back again to change parts. First week of ownership and in the shop
On my 2020 1500 my trucks stop/start doesnt engage if its drawing to much power, ie. air conditioning turned on. Also i dont have an issue with the trailer plug and tailgate because 90% of trailers wont even work with the tailgate down because of the trailer crank, without an extension that is or a big ‘ole dent in the tailegate...
hey i saw your review and saw about the tailgate touching the cover of the trailer electrical connector. i went outside and checked my 2012 bighorn and my tailgate doesnt touch the connector cover.
I'm new to Dodge trucks. Just got a 2017 Ram 1500 Big Horn 4x4 Crew Cab 5.7L. It's gorgeous and I love it. I've had Ford F150s and have been a Ford fan. My truck came with a tow package, and my trailer connections are below the rear fender next to the hitch receiver. Which model of Ram 1500 did you get? (apologies if you mentioned it in the video)
You right about the tow hook connector, but other wise the truck Ram is awesome, Ram really went out to upgrade the rams 2019-20,love my baby Girl hemi 5.7 ,that I have in front license plate tag on it
1 other gripe about tailgate down. I haul my kayak a bunch and you can’t see the license plate with tailgate down I have the Rebel package and love it so far about 7500 miles and a trip from Dallas to the mountains in Colorado. No issues other than those stupid recalls and an update to the radio that took a couple hours ( to fix FM) SiriusXM and everything else was fine
So, with the AC issue where it turns off, does it do that when you turn off the auto start/stop? Because I plan on moving to Florida in a few years lol and I don't wanna be in the same boat you are when I go to purchase my new Ram in a few months.
Have you had a fully loaded cab yet? I am having an issue with the active noise cancellation that only picks up with a full cab and the amplifier picks up the eco mode in the trans that amplifies the trans and makes a loud bass humming noise in the cab that echos continuously. When I am by myself there is no issue. Or even having 600lbs in the bed there is no issue. It all comes from the full passenger cab.
If you use the TOW/HAUL mode, the engine stop function is disabled according to the manual. Also, I understand your frustration with the trailer wire, but what if you used the 7 pin plug/4 wire adapter in the lower 7 pin socket? It's an extra step, but will keep you from fouling your tailgate with the trailer harness. Just my $0.02

Wondering how you like it after a year of driving....Tundra literarily doest break....
The auto-start/stop is only on the E-Torque "models."
I wish Ram would put the 6.4 in the 1500. I’m aware of the Hellcat engine rumor for the TRX but I think I’d be happy with a 6.4 powered Ram with 4wd.
If I am not mistaking the 6.4 is only 410 hp but has more torque. Not that much difference.. but lots worse on gas mileage.
Brad C I would hope that they put the one from the Charger in that has 485hp and 475 ft.lbs. That would be just perfect for me lol
clarks2001 they actually did. The reason they don’t have it as a option for the 1500, the specs isn’t any better than the 5.7l. There was a rumoured hell cat ram a few years ago announced. Not sure why they cancelled it
Brad C yeah it’s the engine in the power wagon 2500 too
@@bradc7720 Exactly, its tuned for towing not for speed.
Curious about an update now that you've had it about a year.
The plug for the back up camera is just under the rear bumper. It looks like a coaxial cable for your tv but smaller. Unplug it, blow it out and plug it back in. Mine has blue screened several times and that fixed it.
Good info
Buy a 7 to 4 pin adapter and your trailer plug problem is solved... nice truck.
Or flip that wiring connector over.
@@datguy8371 That would work too, he has a unique situation, most trailer users don't have the need to pull trailers with the tailgate down. And some trailers can't be pulled with the tailgate down due to clearance issues. I would just buy a $10 adapter and keep it in the glove box for this situation.
Toby MT1925 Yep, I keep one in my Durango
Just do what my buddy did, he got out his dremmel and trimmed about 1/8” off he top of the plastic cover... problem solved and you can’t even tell.
@@willc5979 I agree, well said
I have a 2014 Ram 1500 and its at 200K no issues. just regular maint. and still running really strong. No Tranny or engine issues at all. They are great trucks!!! I will be getting a new 2019 or 2020 Limited....this coming summer.
Wow
If I'm not mistaken - on the F150 putting a dummy plug in the tow hitch that makes the truck think it's.towing will shut off the auto start stop - maybe it works on the ram?
Beautiful looking truck. I just bought my first ever new ford and the backup camera resolution is horrible. Come on ford. And interiors way more refined on Ram.
James Jannell you’re a joke if you think Fords cameras “suck”. I’m sell cars and I’ve seen them all. Ford has one if not the best.
Really nice looking truck, congrats!
Very simple and honest review! Not once you wasted time overdoing your opinion. You pointed out a like or a dislike and stated your take on an easy to understand reason. Very well done :)
Sure everything can be personal opinion, except the towing connector VS tailgate fiasco! WTH Ram? Hopefully you don't scuff your tailgate by accident. But don't stress out, every manufacturer does a fiasco on their products [not an excuse automakers ):( ]
I personally own an F150 for 2 years now (2 F150 in a row - 6 years, total happy ownership).
My Laramie doesn’t have the auto off feature, but I have drive other dodges with it and yes it’s annoying.
I own a 2019 Ram and my backup camera started to glitch. I took it to the dealership and they said it was the uconnect that needed to be updated. They updated it for me and now it works fine. I hope this helps.
Go into your dash settings.. and go to Gear Selector and turn on your gear indicator. Its neat to see what gear your trans is in while driving.
sweet...thanks
Dude, this is probably the best review I've ever seen. Thank you so much.
Isnt the engine with the e-torque supposed to let the AC continue to work when auto stop is activated. Is there not a way to make that happen?
Negatives I agree with
The placement of the trailer light connections
Camera glitch
Engine stop "feature"
you can press a button to turn off the engine stop if we are talking about the same thing.
I'm in FL too and my car has the same feature. However, fortunately, BMW is smart enough to know that if the AC is on and is set to high, then engine auto shut off should be off.
The 2019 Ram has a similar limitation and will prevent Stop/Start if such a condition is met. But if you're trying to cool yourself off with the temperature set to 71°
and fan speed set to 3, you're gonna get frustrated.
@@Furious321 how's the AC on max? Does it get cool in back seat?
thank you for the video. a genuine review & opinion from a real trucker!
SWEET!!
At my dealership they had few
leaking once and some problems with 12" . Don't know, never use sunroof anyway... What can I say ,Classic was good truck ,this one 2020 Sport is just new level. Great truck. Love it . Plus I've got complementary extended warranty...
You can get an adapter from 7-pin to a 4-pin plug and just use lower power plug for trailer. Its about $10. It will not interfere with your tailgate.
The transmission is phenomenal!
AGREED!
The transmission is garbage.. agree to disagree...

I bought a 2020 1500 longhorn yesterday and I swear if feels like I’m driving an s class. Never thought I’d ever spend that much on a truck. I have one 75 miles on the truck so we’ll see about its reliability.
Same here. Just bought a limited and will see how it holds up
I'm picking up my fourth Ram 1500 in 8 weeks. Awesome trucks!!
15k miles here. Loving it!
for the trailer wire issue just buy a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter and use the round plug
I have a 2021 and I am elated to tell you that mine does not have that shut off feature! Don't know how, but it doesn't. Love that about it.
in reference to the camera issue: lower the tailgate and in between the bed and tailgate you will see a wire harness. get some sticky backed zip tie keepers, pull that wire harness up to the tailgate surface and zip tie up so it stays put. I had the same camera issues with my 17 limited (just got rid of last week) and it turns out that the wiring harness will drop down between the tailgate and bed causing it to get pinched and jerked around. I zip tied mine up and never had an issue again
You can avoid the rubbing of the trailer plug cover on the tailgate by getting an adaptor for the larger plug in, that way you have to lift the bottom cover up to plug in the wire harness.
this is true. but its one of those things I shouldn't have to
I'm not sure I can ever get used to a hockey puck shift knob instead of a traditional center console stick shift. How do you guys like it? Get used to it???
It's great once you get used to it and it opens up lots of room in the cab.
*UPDATE: There are more videos of this truck on our channel! You can find them in the Actual Owner's Review playlist.*
My A/C doesn't shut off with the auto start stop. Not sure if that should be happening.
What a phenomenal Truck. FIAT is kicking asses!
Then buy new Toyotas 😅😂🤣😭
@@Flydevice1 yep
Understand the problem with the trailer connection and your frustration. You can buy an adapter to plug your trailer into the 7 pin connector for not a lot of $$.
Yeah I actually though about that too
I bought my 2017 ram 0 miles and now has 63000 still a great truck no problems.
A fanboy is one who is brand loyal no matter what crap is sold.
love the truck, I have the same one. One a trip from Central TX to AZ I was getting 19-21 mpg at an average of 80+ mph... which I LOVED! I sit around 15-18 in the city.
that's respectable
Yep same here!!
a bench seat - is so hard to get in a decent trim in the Toyota and GMC.
How did you get such a good deal?
Travis Lewis I pretty much got the same deal too. My truck was stickers at 52,000 and we got it around 45,000. Just got it at the right time of year with good factory incentives. We also traded in my tundra and our car and got the truck and another car.
rcmckonly8 thanks for sharing, these are really good looking trucks inside and out.
I love it!
Can you get from cool seats as a option? In Texas, I love cool seats more then heated seats.
I believe the higher models offer the cool air seats
Thanks for the video. It's been over a year since you posted this. How has the reliability been? Any issues? Thanks.
For the trailer wiring you could always get an adapter to use the bottom connector. Its like 5 bucks.
agree....thats a no brainer
Just bought Ram 1500 and put 5000 miles in less than a month. Great truck. Great on highway.
I have a 2019 1500 Laramie 4x4 without the start/stop system and love it. Thank's for letting me know about the plug problem in the back... I have no used it yet, but will keep that in mind that it can rub against the tailgate, if it is down.
Here’s the update video (solved that problem): ua-cam.com/video/mYxdS7kE2w0/v-deo.html
Great review. That trailer plug would be annoying. You could maybe trim the top plastic off of the cover for clearance. I'm surprised they didn't catch that.
Yeah I was looking at that too but that doesn’t stop the door from pinching the wires to the tailgate.
Update on truck?
Check out the Carli suspension for leveling the commuter or performance package far above the mopar offerings
I get ur trailer light point but a workaround is to get the 7 pin to 4 pin adapter, then use the bottom port with zero issues when tailgates down.
Have the same problem too! It keeps on tripping when I fill the gas hopefully, the dealer will replace and fix it.
Picked up a new 2019 Ram Warlock. I absolutely love it!
What did you pay for it? Thinking about getting one myself
Why did you get a drop in Berliner as opposed to the spray in?
I didn’t have a choice. I guess I could of told them to rip out the bed liner yes but then I would of had to come out of pocket for the spray liner. When I bought this truck there were no others with this package available without ordering so I got what I got. When you want a certain look your options are limited
Do they maybe have an extension for the trailer light connection. Not sure but you should look into it.
Could you avoid auto-shut off by leaving the truck in Neutral with parking brake?
not sure but that would be a real pain at every light. the electronic brake can be a pain if you do not do every step perfect to release it!
I thought start stop will not work if it is above or below a certain temperature or if the cabin temp goes above or below a certain temp?
Your tailgate can be lowered into a “raised” position. Move the tailgate cables to the higher anchor point.
I bought a 2020 BigHorn pretty loaded I love my truck !!
I average 19 mpg on the highway in my Scat Pack. Considering this truck, glad to see it’s about the same. Wish it came with more aggressive off-road tires of the lot.
There are different packages bud. I have a TRX 2020 RAM.
I like the new rams but only issue i have there is no single cab. As for now i will keep my 2015 and start putting my headers with no cats and tune my transmission and engine. Hopefully they can bring the single cab.
A Ram R/T single cab would be perfect 👌
Truck Central hopefully it happens
@@muko2002 Im sure it will. There isnt a generation that they havent made the single cab of my knowledge
rcmckonly8 as far as I know
The new Chevy/gmc and tundra have killed the single cabs .
My 2017 Night Edition, just like this one, was in the shop 3 times for the back up camera. they replaced it and it stopped.
Thx
How do you like the gear selector knob? That's the only thing that turns me off, but I assume you get use to it. Thanks, and good review.
You can change how long it stays off at a light in the nav settings
The etorque engine is optional. The regular 5.7 does not have the auto shut off
hey i saw your review and saw about the tailgate touching the cover of the trailer electrical connector. i went outside and checked my 2012 bighorn and my tailgate doesnt touch the connector cover.
Love that truck. How's it going now?
You right about the tow hook connector, but other wise the truck Ram is awesome, Ram really went out to upgrade the rams 2019-20,love my baby Girl hemi 5.7 ,that I have in front license plate tag on it
1 other gripe about tailgate down.
I haul my kayak a bunch and you can’t see the license plate with tailgate down
I have the Rebel package and love it so far about 7500 miles and a trip from Dallas to the mountains in Colorado. No issues other than those stupid recalls and an update to the radio that took a couple hours ( to fix FM) SiriusXM and everything else was fine
Mopar has a video on how to turn off the start stop function.
It all comes from the full passenger cab.
haven't experience this issue, no
If you use the TOW/HAUL mode, the engine stop function is disabled according to the manual. Also, I understand your frustration with the trailer wire, but what if you used the 7 pin plug/4 wire adapter in the lower 7 pin socket? It's an extra step, but will keep you from fouling your tailgate with the trailer harness. Just my $0.02
yes i planned on that solve. look for that in the next video coming soon
is there a setting inside the screen settings to disable the auto start stop everytime?
How many of you guys are having issue with the air suspension? I live in Iowa and I’m considering one of these with air ride
You have a five switch panel on your dash. Is it factory? Where did you get it.
