For instance it said starring normand Reedus but it never said Guillermo del toro because he wasn't staring in it. He was in it. Just passed this order last night. The atmosphere during the ww1 and ww2 sequences is amazing, guys responsible are either geniuses or diehard veterans of the genre. Hands down best experiences I had with this game during the 100 hours I've spent on it!
umm Playstation has been doing that lately when theres not a 100% date on it yet, they usually put it off for a year or two then say it comes out in december or the last day of december, they did the same to ghost recon but it came out almost a year early than listed on the store lol
I'm not saying you're wrong, I just think it's a strange comparison. Lovecraft is pretty one note on writing about old terrors in the night, strange creatures who descend from ancient races hiding away in some remote place, impossible geometry/color/sense information, witchcraft/incantation, and lots of storytelling through letters written by characters. So, from my perspective, this trailer is as similar to Lovecraft's stuff as it is to anything in the horror genre. IMO it's pretty uniquely Kojima. Surrealist, vague, convoluted, but intriguing.
In case you were still wondering... Large man with baby in a jar has been transported to a hellish afterlife catalyzed by the collective suffering of soldiers who fought in World War 2 in Europe, and currently occupied in particular by that dude leading the skeleton soldiers, whom is not entirely aware of what's actually going on around him. Not only is this not the first time this happens (you also get to have fun in World War 1 and the Vietnam War), it's not even the most important aspect of the game's setting and story.
Mads Mikelssen is doing great in his career, hes played a awesome Bond villain, a awsome starwars character and a cool Hannial and now a cool vid-game character.

I have a theory that the leader is a metaphor for Konami. One all powerful entity with the power to magic up anything it could want to but instead delegates all the hard work to as cheap a work force as possible; a bunch of poorly equipped skeletons robbed of any emotion, identity, or voice, and kept on a leash. Something like that anyway.
I feel like maybe he is the baby you know , the bridge baby and he is connected to these entities somehow and he seems evil but later proves he was trying to save himself from a torment of hell

That's probably what they're gonna go for. Hideo Kojima is the kind of guy that will probably try to get as close to Silent Hills as he can without it becoming a legal problem just to spite Konami, so he can laugh in their faces when they see how well the game sells and the money they could've made if they'd treated him like a human being. I mean, just look at that, he's even got Guillermo del Toro on board again. Got some first class actors, something that looks really close to the amazing FOX engine, and the soundtrack sounds like it's Ludvig Forssell from MGSV again. It's going to be perfect. Hopefully, a game to surpass Metal Gear.

I absolutely love this game but I will never be able to recommend it to anyone. Here's why: -No one on Hideo Kojima's team had the cahones to sit him down, strapped him to a chair and screamed repeatedly "INVENTORY MANAGEMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF COMBAT SUUUUUUCKS!" -The UI is incredibly convoluted and archaic. I haven't had to hold down a button to confirm an input since 1997. -Recycling your inventory is a whole other system of windows? Why? The sheer number of menus and sub-menus is not a rich and complex experience like what I think they were going for. Instead it's frustrating, redundant and poorly laid out on the whole. There is some incredible storytelling and overall innovative gameplay instilled in this work of art. It's just a shame that he used crayons and the whole stack of construction paper.
1:30 anyone notices of that rainbow and blue sky in the background while army is coming? Even the music is so damn creepy. And that "octopus" tank? I think even the planes at the beginning are powered by some organic shit (just see the tentacles). No talk about the undead soldiers (see the skulls). Full of questions, no answers. Love it.

We're all aware that it's del toro by the face and he's already getting paid for the game. But the actor that is voicing del toro's character model is the person that will get credited because that's the person that will bring the character to life. Del toro said they could do it, and Kojima said DT made that arrangement so that he could focus on other projects.
Mads is The Sorrow. The area they're in is Normandy. The soldiers and tanks are using WW2 equipment. Del Toro is a representative of The Patriots. The baby is Ocelot. Ocelot was taken by The Patriots in Normandy after The Boss was given a Ceserian Section on the beaches. What happens when Snake touches The Sorrow during his boss fight? A scream. What happens when the doll touches Mads? A scream. Look at his hand gesture, it's identical to The Sorrow's during his boss fight. This is a younger The Sorrow, 20 years before his death, bringing Del Toro's character into the world of the dead to hunt him down and get his son back.

I happen to think Kojima is pretty overrated but I know what fandom is like, afterall I buy any Final Fantasy game regardless of how little info I have on it. I think it's pretty easy to make a mindfuck trailer like this but the difficult part is actually having it make sense in the end. It'll be interesting to see whether or not this game eventually does that.
Just passed this order last night. The atmosphere during the ww1 and ww2 sequences is amazing, guys responsible are either geniuses or diehard veterans of the genre. Hands down best experiences I had with this game during the 100 hours I've spent on it!

I'm not saying you're wrong, I just think it's a strange comparison. Lovecraft is pretty one note on writing about old terrors in the night, strange creatures who descend from ancient races hiding away in some remote place, impossible geometry/color/sense information, witchcraft/incantation, and lots of storytelling through letters written by characters.
So, from my perspective, this trailer is as similar to Lovecraft's stuff as it is to anything in the horror genre. IMO it's pretty uniquely Kojima. Surrealist, vague, convoluted, but intriguing.
Okay, there's nothing wrong with that interpretation, either. I don't think that has anything to do with this trailer.

I have a theory that the leader is a metaphor for Konami. One all powerful entity with the power to magic up anything it could want to but instead delegates all the hard work to as cheap a work force as possible; a bunch of poorly equipped skeletons robbed of any emotion, identity, or voice, and kept on a leash. Something like that anyway.

That's probably what they're gonna go for. Hideo Kojima is the kind of guy that will probably try to get as close to Silent Hills as he can without it becoming a legal problem just to spite Konami, so he can laugh in their faces when they see how well the game sells and the money they could've made if they'd treated him like a human being. I mean, just look at that, he's even got Guillermo del Toro on board again. Got some first class actors, something that looks really close to the amazing FOX engine, and the soundtrack sounds like it's Ludvig Forssell from MGSV again. It's going to be perfect. Hopefully, a game to surpass Metal Gear.

I absolutely love this game but I will never be able to recommend it to anyone. Here's why:
-No one on Hideo Kojima's team had the cahones to sit him down, strapped him to a chair and screamed repeatedly "INVENTORY MANAGEMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF COMBAT SUUUUUUCKS!"
-The UI is incredibly convoluted and archaic. I haven't had to hold down a button to confirm an input since 1997.
-Recycling your inventory is a whole other system of windows? Why? The sheer number of menus and sub-menus is not a rich and complex experience like what I think they were going for. Instead it's frustrating, redundant and poorly laid out on the whole.
There is some incredible storytelling and overall innovative gameplay instilled in this work of art. It's just a shame that he used crayons and the whole stack of construction paper.
They should show this trailer in movie theaters just to see the audience reaction.

We're all aware that it's del toro by the face and he's already getting paid for the game. But the actor that is voicing del toro's character model is the person that will get credited because that's the person that will bring the character to life. Del toro said they could do it, and Kojima said DT made that arrangement so that he could focus on other projects.

Ocelot was taken by The Patriots in Normandy after The Boss was given a Ceserian Section on the beaches. What happens when Snake touches The Sorrow during his boss fight? A scream. What happens when the doll touches Mads? A scream. Look at his hand gesture, it's identical to The Sorrow's during his boss fight. This is a younger The Sorrow, 20 years before his death, bringing Del Toro's character into the world of the dead to hunt him down and get his son back.
