@@interesting7906 it’s what the customer would have wanted , he payed for it so that’s that and it’s a matter of choice when your probably paying 100 grand or more for it fella , as I did this kind of work years ago and it was always the customer who has the final say 👍
Park it up & walk away from it ! Never I'd need to pull a window out & put in a roller door so it could live in my lounge room. Be worth making a huge sofa bed so I could sleep with it, though my cat Holden might get jealous.

I'll admit, I had my doubts about the Allegro project(s), happy to now admit I was COMPLETELY wrong! You've kinda done to the Allegro what Lancia did to their non-descript Delta when they evolved it into the Integrale! Austin Allegro Integrale. Nice.
Anyone questioning 'Why buy old Machinery'...Have obviously not seen or used 'Old' Machinery or compared the quality of it with the new stuff. It's invariably far better build quality.

I would love to have an autofocus on your rust prevention treatment. I genuinely love the deeper looks into zinc spraying in these episodes, but it would be nice to have it all out into an autofocus with your processes and reasonings/examples.
The small asides in the last episode where you mentioned doing door sills, window frames, was very interesting. I am looking to go through my own Classic and most of my farm equipment when I am in the off season and would love to have the autofocus episode to look back on and reference the rust treatment process all in one episode.
Also, I see you have a water style filtration, any reason or explanation on the advantage of it? Maybe a walkthrough of how it works? I am looking to use a paint booth style filter in a DIY booth, is water better?
I would really love any advice on how to put a Classic on a rotisserie. My body isn’t what it used to be (both the Classic and me) so I would like to do panel repairs and zinc spraying at a reasonable working height.

Your ability to sympathetically widen a vehicle is unparalleled guys ....a Million people could fuck up a morris minor or allegro by widening it but somehow u find that perfect balance ...I was litterally shaking my head in disbelief how banging that allegro looks ...and i fucking knew it would ...but still i could not believe it.

Just what I thought, Zegato inspired for sure. I'm surprised how I'm drawn to the Alegro's fighting how I was brought up encouraged to hate the Allegro (if you are 50 something). But this interpretation is astoundingly good.
Got to say I love the idea of the Allegro+ with the Honda floor plan but I must say I'm NOT a fan of those overly square arches.
IF I had the money i would commission these guys to make a carbon fibre bodied 4 wheel drive beach buggy.

Totally agree that most of the old stuff works better, does a better job and is built to last. I could name dozens of engineering companies that seek out 60 year old machines for that exact reason.
And you can service and maintain it yourself. No Chinese parts needed, just a lathe, a milling machine, some skills and common sense.

Project One is by far my favourite and most desired build. Gordon's car was awesome but subtle. This is in your face. That's where I'm at with my desired Escort...

I'd never been quite sure about the colour of Project as it always seemed a bit too quiet for such a wild machine. Tis having seen it in the hard grey weather that proves their breed of Englishmen must surely be the finest !
I'm a huge fan, but the front of the escort, the silver trim looks good in isolation but then every other bit of bright ware on the car is black or bronze, just looks a bit wrong to me! Nitpicking though, stunning overall.
The BDA has to be the best sounding 4 cylinder engine ever produced. I find it interesting that modern controls, ecu, fuel injection, coil on plug etc. can all be added and it still sounds the same!
So nice to see one of the Escorts finally rolling! Beautiful results.
Are the RetroPower (and RP) logos (engine cover and wheel centres etc) compulsory for you to do the work, or are they at the discretion of the customer?

The Allagro has has Renault 5 Maxi look with those arches, I like it.

I did not like the arches in the beginning but seeing the car finished they just suit it so much

IMHO the older machinery is better built and will last until after we are all dead and gone, plus they look nicer.

I wonder if at low rpm whether you could 'retard' injector spray until right on the intake valve opening up and draw the fuel charge straight in, rather than spray on the back of the valve and await the opening 🤔

May I ask, I have noticed when guys do your exhaust systems...you don't have X intersections. Please explain?
Down spiral cutters for your CNC router is a valuable option when machining expensive material on such a machine. Did lots of G10 In the past with solid carbide, worth sourcing somebody to slit and regrind the tooling too, when solid carbide.

Blast from the past.........When I was 16 I used to use a Bronx press brake and a guillotine, the sound it made as it cut through a 6' length of eighth plate was fantastic

Minor concern that there appears to be a bulkhead type pass-through for the positive terminal in direct line with the engine - it may not take much of a prang to push the engine back far/hard enough to make contact and have a direct short?

Knowing where the carbon panels are going to be bonded on... would it not be worth zinc metal spraying this areas to avoid potential for bare metal to corrode under the adhesive??
When applying epoxy primer in the fabrication workshop. Do you use an aerosol or spray gun to apply it?

How do you go on with the led headlights on the older car's? I believe it's illegal for them not to have self leveling light's? I wanted to fit them to my disco but might fail MOT
Self-levelling is only required if the light output is greater than 2,000 lumens. However, if the light output isn't marked on the lamp, the tester has to treat them as ordinary lamps that don't require self-levelling.
Use foam tape on the windscreen or car ,it acts as a dam and a spacer
I thought mk1's had quarter front & rear bumpers & mk2's had quarter front but full rear?
I think "no" is the simplest answer. I think all mk 1 had a full rear bumper, and only Twin Cam/Mexico/RS1600/RS2000 had front quarter bumpers.

As you have got to do a load of work and might have to make a new roof panel… Is it not worth removing the sunroof altogether so the problem goes away forever? Hardly anyone uses them, they weigh quite a bit, always cause problems and you gain head room?
