Great looking old G1800. Make sure to check the screen on the lower left side. I just subscribed to your channel. Look forward to seeing additional videos. I have a G1800-s I use in a lot of videos. True Tanks. Take Care, Jason
Thanks Jason, I watched your video about the deck comparison a while back. The deck on this one took some persuasion to get it straightened out and mowing flat after I got it. Keep up the good work.
THe hydrostat on these models do make a "whine" when the tractor's moving. My dad bought a brand new one for $8200 in 1999 (he still has it, the manuals, and the reciept), and my used one I just bought a week ago does as well.
Regardless of your disclaimer, this was totally instructional! I am working on one of these little fellas and will be have to change this fluid, so, thanks!
Hi... My dad and I bought this same machine new in about 1993/4. Mine sounded exactly like this the day I picked it up from the dealer and it still does to this day. It has under 500 hours and still runs and looks new as it was garage kept. Unfortunately, daddy passed in 2019 and I inherited it, and have no plans to ever get rid of it. You have nothing to worry about - that transmission is bullet-proof. Yours is definitely the gen 2, mine is gen 1 but it's no so different. I have a bigger 2660 I use more often, but I still love this thing for leaves and such as I have the bagger system for it and it makes clean-up a breeze. I think we were all in for about $10-11k with the Tractor, deck, and bagger system. I watched your video to see how to change the trans fluid, as I cant find my manuals. And by the way, I love the transmission sound - it sounds like it means business!
Thats awesome that you inherited your dads mower in great condition. Good to know about the transmission. I got this one for 1k - he said the deck was junk but I straightened it and have mowed with it for 2 seasons.
@@nicksnextproject535 that's funny! How can the deck be junk. Lol. It's entirely serviceable as you figured out. Unless it's rusted through, it's not so hard to fix. And Kubota parts aren't the price of John Deere parts either so it's not the end of the world. Good luck with yours!
Kubotas are a pleasure to mow with. I looked at a G1900 last weekend with a 60" deck. The seller was asking $1000.00 but I had to pass because it looked a bit too junky.
I’ve got one just like that that I inherited. Only thing different I do is pull and clean the screen. Best to do when draining all the fluid also I use a markie pen and put date on filter. Great video
@@user-cy6gf2pj7y 2nd that. I drive mine off the dealer lot and it sounded like that since day 1. I kind of like the sound - it sounds like it means business!
Question on the transmission --- I have a G2000 and can not find the hydro disconnect lever .. how do you move the mower when the engine is off or dead for some reason ...
Yes, there is, above the brake housing. A button, which after being depressed allows you to easily roll or tow the machine. Very few people seem to know about this feature.@@nicksnextproject535
If it was me, id look at the deck and the bearings on it. Haven't had a 4 wheel steer but that is one more thing to go wrong. Id check all the regular diesel things like oil, coolant, blowby. All my opinions- Buyer beware.
@@edwarddinardo1248 This Kubota has a 42 inch deck I think which is quite small. I have a Gravely Zero turn with a 60" deck which is much faster and in my opinion more fun to mow with on the flat ground.
@@dgl89longwo17 I'm sorry, but this machine is NOT noisy. Ok, the diesel is a little chatty at an idle compared to gas, but once it has a little throttle it quiets up. I have 2 other zero turns and a bigger BX series, and this thing is quieter than all of them. And trust me, I am sensitive to that - I need ear protection on the zero turns and not on this.
@@nicksnextproject535 what happened was the tractor injection pump went out and I had to move the tractor so I push it a little bit and how that I fix the injection pump when driving in reverse it makes a noise and is slower than before 😓

Gotcha. Where is the screen at?

Sounds normal to me.

Hi, how many liters of oil do I need?
Around 5.8 liters but check your manual to be sure.
I didn’t know that you can’t push this kind of tractors and now I think I f up my little tractor 😓
Sorry to hear that. Is it not moving with the pedal now? It is a surprisingly inconvenient feature coming from classic Kubota.
