Alin from "The low-tech guys" here, thank you so much for the Clop and rcmd reviews! About rcmd, it's core proposition is dynamic app switching (it's not needed to assign R to Recut manually to switch to it, rcmd does that dynamically for you), and "already focused" actions like cycling through same-letter apps, showing/hiding an app by pressing the same letter etc. Yes, you can assign letters to apps using BTT, KM, Raycast etc. I used to do that manually as well in the past. But with rcmd, even assigning is much faster, you can just press "Right Command - Right Option - R" while Recut is focused to assign R to it without going through the UI.
I love your Lunar app, I have 2 monitors & using my external keyboard to light/darken a screen depending where I place my mouse has been so wonderful. I love what you two have created, thank you for such clean and wonderful UI's too!
Love how you cut straight to the content without any fluff - exactly what your viewers appreciate based on all the comments! TextSniper would fit perfectly in this collection, especially for those looking to quickly extract text from images or screenshots without the multi-step process some commenters mentioned.
Great collection of apps, thanks for sharing. One thing I'd often notice, or the lack of, is the privacy aspect. Adding apps that have access to your calendar, your images, pdfs, videos and more is just so weird. I assume most people might not be aware of. I think, it'd be great to highlight this aspect in the future, weather the apps runs locally or collects data or not.
Great presentation! Your smooth, conversational cadence gives confidence in your message. I'm trying to improve Cadence in myself, so it's much appreciated. Great job! 🙌
Your videos are some of the best iOS/MacOS related videos I’ve watched! Most videos these days just telling me boring things i already know, so i feel i have to leave a comment. Keep up the good work!
Isn’t it cmd+opt+shit+v? Either way, an absolute travesty of a key binding for such basic functionality. I do like a lot of Apple stuff, but can’t stand this type of shenanigans.
Thank you for rcmd. I saw such approach in other videos, tried another app and gave up because app was poor for me. But rcmd is something different, really like it. :)
Right, but that wasn't a screenshot. Without an OCR tool you would need to first screenshot what you want to copy, open it in preview and then extract the text. With a dedicated tool you're skipping all of that.
@@FromSergio Fair enough, though for a normal image you can also use Live Text in the standard Photos app. The recommended app might be worth money for other functions though. Peace
@@FromSergiothis is a time saver I think people just understand by trying. I should use this function at least once per day, every single day for the last 2 years.
Hi Sergio, In a previous video you used a similar app to Dropover that was from SetApp, Yoink or something similar. Curious to learn what made you switch to Dropover and what the differences are between the other SetApp and Dropover? Thanks.
Right... I clicked like just for that reason! Kinda amazing how refreshing it is when you hear it... but also kinda crazy how trained our ears have become to hearing that "smash the like" and "ring that bell" BS
Excelent list. I didn't know about many of them and downloaded at least three. Thanks! Recut is unecessary for those who use Davinci Resolve. However, Davinci has it's own problems and I was considering switching to Final Cut. But it looks like FCP takes forever to update and introduce new things (like the Recut function).
Yeah FCP is my favorite NLE to cut around a timeline but it's true that it's years behind DR and Premiere... Fortunately there's a very healthy plugin market that solves most of that, but of course at a cost. I've used DR for a year before moving back to FCP. I hate it, but it's the one I hate the least
Clop is not showing in the App store and there's lots of chatter about the CLOP ransomware. The two aren't related are they? Why isn't Clop in the app store?
Raycast is really nice indeed, these recommendations are just batteries included options for things that require more setup to do with raycast or automate workflows like media conversion.
Sergio, do we have an app that lets you easily choose which browser to open a link with? For example, something that pops up a small screen with two or more browser icons?
As for the Arc Browser, I really like it, but my issue is that I can't sync my iPhone to my Mac due to a bug in their system. Are you experiencing the same?
Do the clip optimised files cause any weird compatibility issues when you’re trying to share them to other places? I’ve used similar optimising apps and sites and a lot of them seem to make the files incompatible with different methods of sharing
The default Mail app was already a gem, but after iOS 18.2/macOS 15.2 you get categories just like Gmail. Simple, clean and light on resources. If you need something with some more advanced features like encryption or a multi platform option, Thunderbird is solid. Looks nice and it is free as in beer as well as in freedom.
@@Ivan-e4j8h The default Mail app is more than good enough. A more full featured open source, also nice looking and multi platform is Thunderbird. Spark doesn’t make a lot of sense if you don’t share an inbox with a team, but is included on setapp if you want to give it a try.

Wow big fan of how Alcove could not have made it any more obvious that they're ripping off DynamicLake by legitimately copy pasting their logo lol. Pretty shameless. Maybe that's better than hiding it? Hard to say, but it's also very hard to tell the two apart. I get it if you prefer the functionality, but I don't see how you're able to "root for them" if they're being kinda scummy like that. Unless I'm missing something?
It’s literally the Dynamic Island wallpaper used when it was announced and released. Alcove replicates the Dynamic Island 1:1 that Apple made even down to the logo details 🤦♂️
It is more about valuing privacy and better support. Mac apps are usually more polished and have more frequent and better updates because the market is settled on this paradigm of premium apps you pay for instead of paying with your data. Many of these options are a single purchase for a license to use the app indefinitely with updates for as long as the dev supports the app, a better deal IMHO.

Are the apps which are only downloadable on their website and not on the App Store safe to use?
Yes, most apps are actually published like that on macOS because Apple doesn’t allow system-enhancement apps on the App Store.
