So strange thought I was getting suffocated two weeks ago thought I had covid too. Then miraculously after suffering I was back to completely normal for four days . Now I’ve been suffering again. So much stress and pain

@@stuartbardin3164 tim glad to hear you’ve been working on your mental health and it’s getting better! My shortness of breath started back in 2012 but I kind of brushed it off the best that I could not really understanding what was going on, it would come and go but I was able to deal with it.fast forward to 2015 on my honeymoon in Mexico I had a little too much tequila and beer and passé out woke up thinking I was dying, could not breath I had to lay still on my hotel bed concentrating but after a few hours it got better, when I got back to the states I went to see my general doctor and they said it must be asthma so have me an inhaler- that kind of worked and would open up my airway so I figured that must be what it was but then in 2019 I landed in the hospital thought I was going to have a hard attack pressure in chest etc, they did all the tests I was good to go, lungs clear on X-ray, EKG clear blood work clear I was healthy, they told me it’s anxiety and my doctor through me Xanax which I never took. Over the years my condition has gotten a little worse off and on where my inhaler no longer solved the problem which is why I started seeking more answers and here we are recently it’s been a suffering. I have an appointment with me GP this week and an ENT next week to ask questions because I can’t live like this. It’s horrible. I’m an Avid cycled and lift too and I’ve been able to continue doing so usually fight through any bouts of breathlessness while exercising but if there’s a solution I really need to get it fixed so I can go back to living. I was also a fairly heavy drinker on occasion and had a beer or two every other night. 30 days ago I quit coffee and alcohol to see if that was a trigger but it hasn’t changed my problem though I have dropped a few pounds. It’s a mystery and I’m afraid my docs will be baffles and want to do a crap ton of tests that I won’t want to. I’m glad that diet has worked for you! I don’t want to do PPI’s. Hi Stuart. I have had a very similar story to you. I have been on PPIs for 25 years now for acid reflux. I was diagnosed with a hiatus hernia 6 years ago. I have very recently (weeks ago) had an endoscopy which found I have a very lax LES (lower esophageal sphincter) and that can be corrected at some point in the future with surgery. I was also diagnosed with LPR as my vocal cords are incredibly inflamed. My biggest worry is seeing blood when i cough hard or clear my throat and then spit. I'm scared its coming from my lungs but the dr last time thinks its due to the damage in the vocal cords. They said to continue with PPIs and have gaviscon as well. I also suffer with heightened health anxiety big time and I feel as though i'm in limbo with everything at the moment.

I have been through a torrid time of trying to get a decent job recently with loads of nerve wracking interviews, really tough and stressful. Of course, my anxiety didn't do me any favours and I still haven't got a job...the feeling of rejection coupled with the stress and anxiety has brought my LPR back.

This is me to a T. Its come on after a 3 years battle with anxiety and panic attacks. I am a new subscriber and look forward to being with you on your journey. Today my breathing is easier(except through my nose I can hardly breathe through it at all!) but the reflux is my new problem. ER visit and drs visit due to gastritis and acid in ym throat. Im also seeing a naturopath and have cleaned up my diet. I take natual anxiety relief pills but my anxiety is still controlling my life. Dizzy, brain fog, feeling like things arent real sometimes, frustration, anger, off balance, exhausted even after 8 hours sleep etc etc etc. I also see a therapist for about 2 months now. I’m experiencing a lot of what you are experiencing and the doctors don’t seem to understand, I’m wondering whether stress/anxiety has a large part to play as I’ve been so anxious over the last couple of years. I have all the throat symptoms you have including clicking/rubbing when I swallow., also issues with my ears and sinuses, I think definitely lpr as had the cough for years and even post nasal drip. Yes silent reflux, which I didn’t know existed until about three months ago, my symptoms are worse during the night and upon waking as I feel the acid has gone into my throat even though I sleep with a wedge pillow. I’m having a barium meal next week to examine my oesophagus, stomach and small intestine. I wish you luck.

Here is a fast way to tell if you have LPR chew some sugar free bubble gum..no other flavor but bubble gum and if your symptoms specially breathing symptoms subside or reduce its LPR. LPR is caused by anxiety for a lot of people and it won’t go away until you fix the root no matter how clean you eat. It will be gone for months then bam it’s back. Also the breathing thing is mostly likely caused by VCD were your vocal chords are shutting at the wrong times. It’s an asthma mimic but inhalers will not help. The acid/gas is irritating the vocal chords. VCD will NOT kill so the best thing to do is relax and let it happen the more you stress the worse it’s going to be. Also do not go to dr. google. I repeat do not go to dr. google.

I’ve been too so many doctors and I’m down to either LPR or Post Covid symptoms, not sure which one it is but I hope it’s post Covid cause dealing with LPR sounds brutal and long lasting. I’m 23 young healthy and constantly exercise so I’m not sure how I developed LPR. But it all started with sensation of lump in throat then it went away and then it was bad taste in mouth and coating on tongue that although isn’t as bad as it was months ago is still there. Then I starting getting these pulsating throbbing headaches in the back of my head that lasted for months, then I got ear pressure and fullness with crackling and popping which then turned into ear pressure with no crackling and the headache turned into less of a pulsating headache and more of a fatigued strained headache. This is driving me crazy, I really don’t want to have to turn to a diet cause it sounds miserable and bland, but I’m hoping it’s post Covid symptoms instead of LPR

When I caught COVID I discovered I had LPR which was exacerbated by COVID so badly that it burned my nose hairs away and I coughed up scabs when I didn't have up to 9 hour non-stop coughing fits.
It is terrible...what is more terrible is discovering despite it's debilitating propensity it is not covered under disability.
    It literally DISABLES you.
I kept getting sick because the damage caused Post-Nasal Drip, this meant anytime I caught a sinus infection, this being frequent dude to sinus damage, that it became an automatic Respiratory Infection as well, this starting a terrible feedback loop.
It was this loop that landed me in the ER and led me to an ENT where I discovered I had this condition.
I haven't had a sinus/chest infection in the last year and a half BUT the Reflux is far from gone or under control, it still flares up, I still lose jobs due to it, which the loss of employment causes more stress which exacerbates reflux...
    Vicious cycles.

But the worse thing when it flares up is the shortness of breath, sometimes I feel like I can't catch it. I thought it was the anxiety but I wasn't feeling anxious. By the way it's the social anxiety.
I'm working on my anxiety by myself and it went better as the GERD went better (found a doctor that helps)
But still the experience itself still gives me a little anxiety, since I will have a lot of things to do in the future, bcs I will be moving to my boyfriend's country and making a lot of papers alone, taking long flights, I know I will do it, its just that it scares me.
I tried GABA mix supplement for anxiety but it makes me feel my heart beat.
Is there any supplement alternative for anxiety?
Thank you for reading my story.

It's silent reflux. Raise the top of your bed so acid can't flow up your food pipe .lay on your left hand side with your right leg slightly bent. Don't eat 3 hour before bedtime change your diet to bland foods no fizzy drinks or acid fruits drink plenty of water drink ginger tea aloe vera juice helps to heal your insides .bicarbonate of soda can help too with acid it also get rid of pepsin that comes up and lines your throat it won't hurt you unless it comes in contact with acid then that's when you feel the burn so stay clear of acidic drinks .hope this helps I'm in the same boat doctor s no help I've learned about it all myself

I was also diagnosed with GERD and had breathing problems and a horrible throat closing sensation every day, despite being on 40mg of omeprozale. After a year of suffering I have just had a procedure called a nissen fundoplication. It tightens the valve between the stomach and oesophagus, which stops the acid coming up. I had a hiatus hernia which was repaired at the same time. Despite being in recovery I can already feel I'm getting back to my old self. I thought sharing this may help anyone who feels there is no hope.

Hello, I find your content very interesting. I would like to know, have you ever spoken to a psychotherapist or similar? The way you speak about your physical and mental health it sounds very much like you may have somatic symptom disorder which is a very intricate mental health issue. It may help you to speak to someone and have an official diagnosis on your mental health problems and assist in receiving professional help. Sometimes these issues can be a lot to deal with all alone. I hope you find peace.

Right around the same time I started regurgitating a few times then a bit of heartburn. Then the awful thick mucus in the back of my nose and throat and post nasal drip. This all started around the same time. All the ent's 2 of them said my ear tests are all normal. So basically they just tell you sometimes we just don't have the answers.
I am literally going crazy. I don't sleep and am having major stress and panic attacks which I know doesn't help but I can't help it.I've seen 2 ent's, 2 dentists, tmj specialist, PT, craniosacral therapy. blair upper cervical chiropractic, primary care doctor and who else I can't remember. How long have you had problems?
Are your ears clogged? I now think I have lpr, I have to go get a test though. I already had an endoscopy when I thought I had gerd but it came back ok. My symptoms with reflux now are throat clearing, burping. chest pain, trouble swallowing. A doctor Jaime Koufman I found on u tube who's a reflux expert has made me feel I have lpr. Even the allergy type symptoms she speaks about. Her videos are only 1 to 2 minute long, I wish they were longer.

@@margosugitachi9693 Hi Margo, sorry to hear you're going through what I am. I was diagnosed with LPR. It all started about a year ago when I kept losing my voice while talking. I did see an ENT and they thought it was my voice box, but later I developed all the symptoms you were talking about... Mucus, post nasal drip, breathlessness, ear pain, lump in the throat, etc. The ENT said my ears are fine, but my eustachian tubes are a little dysfunctional. I have ringing, also. That is one of the worst parts of it. Although I've had ringing for about a couple years now... It's worse. None of the medicines help and I've tried changing my diet and that hasn't helped either. It affects anxiety, which I'm sure makes it worse. I feel like I'm going to have this the rest of my life. ☹️

I know stress can have a physical toll on your digestive system. When you are anxious, some of the hormones and chemicals released by your body enter your digestive tract, where they interfere with digestion. They have a negative effect on your gut flora and decrease antibody production. The resulting chemical imbalance can cause a number of gastrointestinal conditions.
