If Patchy suffocated while buried in the sand, and then his body was taken by sea dwellers to be used as a display, then the statements that "he was buried" and also that "he was never laid to rest" are actually both true...
i think his name is interesting too. he died being shot out of a cannon, then his name is the flying dutchman. that really added to the credibility for me.
It would be a lot darker if it weren’t for the fact that he already survived getting shot out of a cannon, crashing into a house, and having said house sink into the Earth. The thing about theories like this is that for every time there’s something that proves the theory, there’s something that disproves the theory.
Alex is an actual genius, he found a way to satisfy all the people who want to see Spongebob theories while also hooking them on his films which he actually likes making. 11/10 content.
I genuinely thought that disturbing "patchy with potty's head having a seizure" thing must've been something Alex Bale made up for the theory because it just looks so goddamn out of place and terrifying, but nope that's actually in the episode. What. the. hell.
There’s also another part to Patchy time traveling. For the episode “Shanghaied”, it was actually an interactive episode where fans could choose the ending(The fruit ending had the most votes). And the person who told fans to vote was literally Patchy himself. So when Patchy time traveled, he probably remembered what fans chose.
Patchy also appeared on Big Time Rush episode as cameo, and he never mentioned anything about spongebob related characters, just him trying to find a treasure
It's a SpongeBob Christmas 2012 when him and Potty was in CGI and he stole a mail truck to drive to the North Pole to see Santa only to Ask To See SpongeBob Squarepants as a gift only to hallucinate and see a scary polar bear. Painty The Pirate was the Pirate from The Second Movie too and Patchy might have known the Pirates from The First Movie .
Yeah man. Its me Mister.bigfanboi of DHMIS, salad fingers, crypt tv, helloiammarymary. I've seen horror my entire life, and holy sh*t this is so crazy that, that scene was in spongebob for real.
The closest we ever got to spongebob acknowledging patchy before the animation was him getting the strangest feeling that a pirate and parrot were arguing about him
yeah I feel Alex still missed out some episodes, even explanation for stop motion Patchy on Christmas special (sure even on that episode he didn't met Spongebob)
This is the second time Alex has ended the 8th episode of his web series with a surprise twist involving a character who shouldn't be there saying "Well done".
If I had a nickel for every time ["Alex has ended the 8th episode of a web series with a surprise twist involving a character who shouldn't be there saying 'well done'"] then i'd have two nickels, which isn't a lot, but it's weird it happened twice /ref
I'm looking forward to this bc the Dutchman's backstory has some weird continuity issues. He's a pirate, we all know that, but in ‘Your Shoe's Untied’, he says he hasn't tied a shoe in over 5000 years. Ntm in Squidward The Unfriendly Ghost, there's a comic book about his backstory explaining that his body was used as a mannequin. (Sorry for the long comment but this has been BOTHERING me)
The scene with Patchy dying is horrifying. They even stopped the singing for a few seconds so the scene is even more creepy.. xD They want you to know there is something weird in this scene
The fact this guy sneaks his great filmmaking skills into each theory after people called him out for making bad horror films just shows how adaptive and creative he can be. Respect.
I think the muses repopulate by infecting someone, just like one did to Alex. Alex went on a huge eating frenzy and even ate raw meat, just like the muses do, as if he was feeding one. I think that when infected, a person is under some sort of mild mind control that gives them the urge to feed the muse inside them and seek someone to give the new muse to. Another reason I think that the muse uses mind control is because it spoke through Alex to Wesley just before it left his body.
This is your best theory yet, I really didn’t think Patchy wanting to eat Potty would come full circle. You are an amazing filmmaker and storyteller, keep up the good work Alex!!
At first I’m always shocked that Alex notices these small details… and then I’m even more shocked by the fact that these hints are planted by the creators over literally YEARS
makes you realize these shows don’t blow up for nothing. They’re made by skilled professionals delivering quality entertainment. Ironic really but but so many shows like this are honestly all forgotten.
It just proves anything can be connected an theorized by adding things together that shouldn't be added just like the real world an shows how easily conspiracy can be formed out of nothing
When I was little I always thought Patchy and The Flying Dutchman were the same. All my friends thought I was stupid but you finally proved me right. I sent this video to the one I’m still in touch with
Ok I found something... you know how patchy's favorite episode of SpongeBob is called "Shanghaied" and in the episode SpongeBob meets the Flying Dutchman. Well in the SpongeBob game called "Battle for Bikini Bottom", when you defeat the Flying Dutchman you earn an achievement and its called "Shanghaied". Sooooo I think he pretty much hit the nail on the head here
I've never seen that episode where Patchy hallucinates singing with Spongebob and his friends, and that shot of him and potty on the beach convulsing is absolutely horrifying. I know Spongebob has done some creepy things before, but that scene and the implications of it.... holy fishpaste
That bit about Patchy drowning in sand and the creepy representation was terrifying. That's what this theory series is for; you're practicing film-making techniques in exposition, immersion and fear, and you're succeeding at it. But you don't have to push yourself to make these theories, be it for popularity, your arg or your practicing of techniques. If you're tired of the theories, take a break if necessary.
Fun fact, the eyepatch that pirates and sailors wore, wasn't to cover missing or injured eyes, it was so that one eye was always adjusted to the darkness for when they were under the deck.
Other than potentially causing irreparable harm to my vision, this would solve many of my problems... okay, mainly just trying to go back to bed in the dark after using the toilet in the middle of the night and not wanting to be vulnerable to ninja attacks while my eyes adjust
Here's my theory, Alex Bale was a pretty normal guy until he started his SpongeBob theories, and the more he made the more obsessed he became until he became patchy the pirate
Ok that part with Patchy violently convulsing on the sand legitimately made my skin crawl. I didn’t really believe that was actually in the show, but I looked up a clip of the ending and holy shit it was there
What makes this extra cool is that if this is true, Patchy probably doesn't even realize that he is the Flying Dutchman and just thinks he's a fun character, so he adds to the story of his own descent into madness and obsession
@@pseudoplotinus nah he was saying that live action patchy doesnt realize that he will become the flying dutchman and he thinks the flying dutchman is just a character
I was actually thinking about this after watching the theory My guess is that since he was just a normal person before dying he has no idea he's watching himself in the future, however he's watching an episode where the Flying Ducthman is kinda torturing Spongebob, something that makes him click with this particular episode cause he already has resentment towards him, making him gravitate towards this episode and calling it his favorite one.
I think Alex may have been projecting a bit of his own insanity onto Patchy in this one lol. I don't know how purposeful it was for everything to kinda line up, but it was still spectacular to watch anyway. Even the sponsored segment made it feel like Alex was mentally breaking down, lashing out at his viewers in an uncontrollable moment of anger
The fact that Alex is basically saying patchy goes mentally insane over not being able to see SpongeBob and he slowly dies in the sand one of the most painful deaths imaginable is insanely dark
That part with Patchy violently convulsing in the sand left me legitimately speechless and gave me goosebumps for almost the entire video after the fact. Great stuff, man!
Fr, it kind of creeped me out more than the muse bits, and that is saying something. Forget about Squidward's suicide, that scene could be a creepypasta all on its own
It's funny how you just applauded his channel while also referring to what makes his channel great is his Spongebob videos even though that's the whole point he's trying to get across. He has greater ambitions and a much more diverse portfolio to offer than Spongebob videos
The horrifying image of patchy suffocating in sand and twitching in pain will give me nightmares. Clip: 26:22. I am not an easy person to scare, and it still gave me chills. Good job, Alex. Now I will have to suffer with nightmares for a week.
Yeah he definitely knew what he was doing with that one, it was lowkey bad enough without the music, black and white filter (filter?) and the creepy dead Patchy image slowly fading in.
Okay I think I get it now, Alex doesn't understand how the muse works, allowing it to manipulate him. But this only goes so far as he's clearly not happy killing animals for it. The Cynical Critic has a muse too, which forced him to destroy things he loves. An allegory for this would be his scathing review of the Dark Knight, a movie which its shown he previously loved. Something he loved that he was forced to destroy, just for the attention of others. There was something about his mother too, maybe he did something to his mother that was a plot point. Edit: Since finishing the video i've concluded that the muse is an alien creature intent on spreading itself to willing human hosts through mental inspiration. Maybe Happy Meat Farms is in there too I dunno
@@idkanymore098 in the paradox1313 in-universe ARG that HMF made, it's revealed from CCTV footage that M0101 (the spider cow) is dead. The muses are planted by and working together with HMF, not escaped.

ive barely started the video but talking about how patchy "dedicates his life to spongebob" and "grows more resentful" seems like incredible foreshadowing and i think its really well done
Damn I had no idea the show had such a creepy moment confirming Patchy's death. That really is on creepypasta levels. I'm surprised more fans especially people in the lost episode community, didn't talk about that more./ Also kind of gives more validity to the Plankton Gets Served creepypasta.
Fun fact : IRL pirates don’t necessarily have to loose one their eyes to get an eye patch, it’s used to keep one eye adjusted to the dark for when they have to go below deck. that evidence isn’t necessarily right or wrong…
@@kingcroc4034 ‘just a theory’ 1) no, pirates wearing eyepatches to go below deck is well known common knowledge 2) a theory isn’t a guess. You realise gravity and evolution are theories right? That doesn’t mean they’re guesses and untested. They very much exist. That’s not up for debate.
@@theend6490 yeah, alex has another arg goin on too, it relates to "Happy meat farms" with the whole muse thing, among other channels interlinked with the arg such as "The cynical critic" and "sanc the blue rat" to name a few. Its pretty cool!
don’t you think the flying dutchman’s origin story sound like a metaphor toward patchy? “they put his body on display in a shop window” meaning how they used patchy as a mascot for spongebob and “and he was never put to rest meaning he never got to meet spongebob and now he haunts him or just me?
Gotta say I’m loving the horror elements of this series and the story you’re developing is really investing. While I’d honestly prefer it to be just a series on its own, separate from the theories, I understand that not only does it bring in more views for it; but than in and of itself is integral to the idea of the series. It’s a really genius idea and I love how much attention you’ve gotten from this.
As much as I enjoy this series, the rest of your horror content deserves so much more appreciation. I binge watched it all in about a day, I’m pretty sure, when I first found your channel and I loved every second of it
@@RandoManFPV It was but it wasn't as scary as in this video, because there was cheerful spongebob music playing and the line was Potty singing something about dropping on the deck and flopping like a fish (so it fits the context), but without the music the scene isolated by itself is nightmare fule
Tying up some loose ends about this theory people have commented. SPOILERS! #1. Wouldn’t the Dutchman have recognized Mr. Krabs if he used to be Patchy? Yep you’re right that’s my bad. I think the real reason the Dutchman doesn’t recognize him in that scene is because Mr. Krabs has a beard. #2. Why is he called “The Flying Dutchman” if Patchy isn’t dutch? I have a feeling there was already a real Flying Dutchman legend just like in real life, maybe Patchy took his name because he knew he was a feared legendary pirate. #3. How did the Dutchman get his ghost ship? What about the dutchman’s crew that was mentioned in one episode? Patchy has been the Dutchman for thousands of years and has the ability to travel to any point in time, that’s plenty of time for him to find a ship and crew and live out the pirate fantasy. Just because it’s a “ghost ship” doesn’t necessarily mean he had to have died with it. He has a ghost phone too lol. #4. How come the Dutchman is obsessed with stealing souls and taking them to Davey Jones locker? Wouldn't that make him more like the grim reaper? We've actually seen lots of ghosts try to steal souls. In "Money Talks" Mr. Krabs reveals he's sold his soul to a whole long line full of different ghosts. Maybe stealing souls and giving them to Davey Jones makes you a stronger ghost, which would explain why the Dutchman is so powerful compared to most ghosts.
Question. Why does the Flying Dutchman return SpongeBob to Mr. Krabs after he traded him for 62 cents? His explanation was that it was a fate worse than death. Does Patchy/Dutchman secretly also hate Spongebob as well?
@Pokehero191 That one was creepy enough that I actually didn't watch it all the way through I skipped it cause death cults are kinda too dark for my taste. :P
It should be mentioned that whenPatchy recovers from his anger in The Sponge That Could Fly, he does so by re-enacting his rage in reverse; in so doing putting everything back in place. This, if taken literally in stead of as an delusion, is also a form of time manipulation.
Alex I know this is late but another really strange piece of evidence that you missed was in that same scene where you find the picture of pearls mother in his house, that same scene you can find a picture of a pirate that has deep resemblance to Patchy, having the skull on the hat and the same look as in the game card.
I found another piece of evidence that the Dutchman is experiencing time differently. "Scaredy Pants" has the Dutchman getting scared by Spongebobs's exposed brain. which seem kind of odd for him, since he himself has done a lot worse than expose his brain. However, in the episode "The Legend of Boo-kini Bottom" The Dutchman goes inside SpongeBob's Brain only to get scared by all the overly cute, happy stuff. Maybe the reason the Dutchman got scared of SpongeBob's brain in "scaredy Pants" was because he has already seen all the "horrors" that's inside.
30:50 this shot with the door opening and wesley seeing his own face in the mirror is so beautiful. just the atmosphere it creates sent shivers down my spine. kudos to you, alex, you continue to outdo yourself with your content.
@MustBJelly if you look closely you can see the camera and set up in the background 😉 not gonna point out where because that ruins the effect but it is some really tricky camera work!
Hella good cinematography without a doubt. Straight praise for what he does. Woulda been cool if the muse was behind Wesley when he moved but it (maybe but I don’t believe so) would have took away from the ending. Can’t criticize bc I could never do anything like/near this. SpongeBob theories or horror shorts, he still makes amazing content. My girl and I are very interested in his borrow shorts, so we’ll definitely be watching everything he’s made.
This theory literally tops MatPat's Dora the Explorer theory that Swiper is a demon who trapped Dora in a computer game for all eternity in terms of horror and heartbreaking storytelling. I wonder if Alex will do more creepy theories on our favorite childhood shows. MatPat is now retired, but the Theory channels shall continue strong with long time editors/script writers becoming the new hosts for each channel. Alex Bale deserves to be on the same level of appreciation as the Theory Channels do.
Man Alex never ceases to impress with these. I can’t imagine how he comes up with them. It’s a shame he doesn’t actually have a tentacle monster in his house feeding these to him. Right guys?
@@alexmcclellan7049 1. gravity falls is overdone 2. 90% of the things in there has been explained 3. it doesnt fit to what the spongebob theories are. the spongebob theories are way funnier then gravity falls theories because you wouldn't think that mrs puff skipped town or that patchy the pirate is the flying dutchman.
You know if you look at this theory as a metaphor for Alex becoming the SpongeBob guy, it probably is supposed to parallel Alex starting off liking and maybe even appreciating SpongeBob until his muse forces it to become his whole life, making him resentful to the franchise.
You took me out when you yelled “THE MOTHER F ATE HIM” 🤣. This was probably my favorite theory, thank you for spending so much time making these videos.

@@SavEncrypted COPPA came and fucked UA-cam up for a reason, I think it's time for you to go back to the kids section if you're scared by a SpongeBob theory
This arg is so cool, it's well planned out, there's so much lore, and it is happening in parts of the internet you wouldn't expect, like damn Alex your work is amazing
One thing I've been wondering is, how exactly did Patchy/Dutchman become a real pirate in the afterlife? Like how did he get his own ship and gain such a terrifying reputation in the afterlife? Also what's up with the whole stealing souls and Davy Jones Locker thing? That got me thinking for a moment, and I think I have my own additional theory to this... After Patchy died on that tiny island above Bikini Bottom, it's possible that Patchy met Davy Jones himself, and Davy was about to either steal Patchy's soul or send him to Davy Jones' Locker (TBH I'm not sure if Davy Jones' Locker is a gateway to purgatory or just Hell for pirates in the Spongebob universe), but then Patchy begged Davy to spare him, and he did. In fact Davy Jones allowed Patchy to live on after death as a ghost under the sea so he could finally be with Spongebob, but in return Patchy has become a slave to Davy Jones, and must carry out his deeds. In other words, Patchy has essentially met the same fate as Bootstrap Bill Turner in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. This would explain a lot about Patchy when he obtains his new identity as the Flying Dutchman. It would explain how he got his own pirate ship and was granted official pirate status by Davy Jones himself, as well as how he gained such a reputation and is feared by all of Bikini Bottom after all the souls he stole. But not many Bikini Bottom citizens know that stealing souls and sending sinners to Davy Jones' Locker is simply just the Dutchman's job, cause Davy Jones told him to. So it's not like the Dutchman wants to do those things, he has no choice. In fact if the Dutchman fails to carry out one of Davy Jones' deeds, Davy punishes him by temporarily trapping him inside his Locker, as shown in the episode "Spongebob Vs The Big One", where Davy Jones makes his first official appearance in Spongebob, and you can see Davy tormenting the Dutchman while enjoying/laughing at his suffering. (Just look it up on UA-cam and you'll see what I mean) Now some people may be thinking, well if the Dutchman's job is a curse and he only steals souls and sends people to Davy Jones Locker because he has to, how come he seems to enjoy tormenting people while doing it? Well, he's been doing this for a very long time, so not only has he likely developed a sense of pride in his work overtime, but considering that he's been stuck in ghostly purgatory for literally thousands of years (while under Davy Jones' eternal enslavement), it'd be no surprise if Patchy had gradually forgotten who he once was, and was eventually fully consumed by his new identity. You can see how much his personality has changed, as he has become much more hostile and mentally unstable, he's developed an obsession with scaring people (as he wants everybody to fear him just like they fear Davy Jones) that's excessive enough to rival his obsession with Spongebob (you can even see these 2 obsessions clashing together in Ghost Host), and he seems to have forgotten just about everything from his past life. It also kinda makes sense why he ate Potty, who was once Patchy's best friend he knew and grew up with since childhood, as Patchy no longer remembers Potty, who is but a mere snack to him now. The only thing Patchy/Dutchman vaguely remembers is Spongebob obviously, and while Patchy is mostly gone and has become the Flying Dutchman, there's still at least a little bit of Spongebob's #1 Fan left in him (like Alex Bale said), buried deep down somewhere within his embodied soul... Well, at least Patchy technically did get to meet his lifelong idol, even if it wasn't in the way he expected to.
Oh wow, very good theory! Well thought out and elaborated upon- enough that it'd be a good script for a video on it's own, if you don't mind me saying that.
I like how even if you're here more for the lore or for the theories the combination is undeniably enjoyable. I don't think it would be the same if it was one or the other by themselves. Both facets of this series are at their strongest when consumed in tandem with each other and I think that's incredibly cool.
I love how this man uses all spectrums of his talent of filmmaking. He’s able to incorporate his own cinematic talent while he breaks down other cinematic legacies like SpongeBob. It’s simply genius.
Also in the episode "Your shoes untied", SpongeBob goes to see the flying Dutchman, but after showing him different types of knots, SpongeBob asks if he can teach him how to tie his shoes. And then The Dutchman says he hasn't wore shoes for thousands of years. This proves it even more that The Dutchman is time traveling.
Plus, pirates of his style (speaking English and wearing that clothing type) were around in the 17 to 18th centuries (300-400 years ago roughly). If time were running normally for him and he was wearing shoes 1000 years ago he would have looked more similar to a Viking. Also would have spoken Norse or Anglo Saxon most likely as his first language.
Chomik Gaming, that still means nothing tho, like look at DieLuftwaffle's comment. Also why wouldn't you believe something that the character himself said in the show.

Well a popular show review is a great way to get people interested in your short horror films. Where people may have missed it because spooky stuff is pushed on UA-cam. Or things are interesting without going in KNOWING we were going to get a story. You typically really critic a straight up story put out there AS a story. He can also make the small conspiracy videos longer this way.
26:14 honestly- at first this was so creepy to watch I didn't even believe Alex was telling the truth. but no- if you look up "Spongebob Big Birthday Blowout Ending Song," the first video, you can actually see the scene where he's, well, "flopping like a fish." And it's unnerving that it came from the show, the weird slight color greyness, and the jolting of the body.. it just looks like something from Don't Hug Me I'm Scared. I'm pretty convinced this theory is correct
I think it’s pretty clear that you’re still using some of the techniques that you used in Old Root for this and I love it. Such as hiding things in areas where they are just barely visible. Love everything you are doing with this and can’t wait to see more from you!!
There is the possibility that “Patchy was here.” Written on the dumpster was because he asked the French narrator to allow him to actually go to Bikini Bottom but he didn’t get to meet SpongeBob because SpongeBob was working at the time and they had to leave soon to prepare for the show to start.
I'm convinced that Alex is in some way connected with the shows creators, especially since the original creator died, this totally seems like something the show would do. This theory is by far the most farfetched seeming, but by the end he manages to completely tie everything together as well as relate past theories. I wonder if the side story is somehow symbolic of his cooperation with the SpongeBob creators. His muse representing the SpongeBob company, giving him his information, with the final goal being him helping the viewers remember the show and its various spinoffs and forms of media along with giving the show a new angle of continuity and depth.
Wow cool theory! I kind of felt like the audience was the Muse because he often talks to the audience as if we are guiding him like do you really want me to keep going? Do you really want me to say it I guess I'll say it. Or he'll say things like okay I guess it's time to do this because we have to go into this. The people who want the content are us but also the Muse clearly wants this as well so I felt like it's sort of represented the dark Side of UA-cam and fandom. Especially with the pirate episode talking about the dark Side of fandom. And how the other creators talk about the muses being a good thing but clearly it has a dark side and is very controlling. Kind of like how creators help each other gain popularity all the time but a lot of friendships between creators aren't real. Like in this last one how it's actually Victorias Muse making her guide Alex. Sort of like how when the fans will ask different creators to collab. Idk I do agree though this definitely does feel like some really cool marketing tactics I was just thinking it was his way of getting his name out there but maybe he is connected to SpongeBob
Surprised you didn't mention the episode "Ugh" where Patchy is shown to be filming his part of the show in prehistoric times. And while at first it seems to be just a low-budget film set, the T-Rex at the end is treated as real. Perhaps Patchy already had the ability to time travel when alive?
Alex goes so far just to make all of his theory videos. After watching them for awhile, he has dedicated most of his time watching the show, watching videos that took place during conventions, exploring the sponge Bob video games, etc. The work and dedication he puts to back up his theories is truly incredible. Not to mention his short films that are included. I would definitely love to see more of the horror series. Thanks Alex for all of your hard work!
I’m just worried about the inevitable: These theories are bound to run out, and sooner than later. There’s only so much you can determine and theorize. Not without sacrificing quality at least.

If Patchy suffocated while buried in the sand, and then his body was taken by sea dwellers to be used as a display, then the statements that "he was buried" and also that "he was never laid to rest" are actually both true...

That's inconsistent with the statement of the shirt he was buried in, though. He would've been buried in Patchy's shirt.
i think his name is interesting too. he died being shot out of a cannon, then his name is the flying dutchman. that really added to the credibility for me.
Omg I never thought about that. That's terrifying

It would be a lot darker if it weren’t for the fact that he already survived getting shot out of a cannon, crashing into a house, and having said house sink into the Earth.

Adds further evidence, hope Alex sees this

I think that when infected, a person is under some sort of mild mind control that gives them the urge to feed the muse inside them and seek someone to give the new muse to. My guess is that since he was just a normal person before dying he has no idea he's watching himself in the future, however he's watching an episode where the Flying Ducthman is kinda torturing Spongebob, something that makes him click with this particular episode cause he already has resentment towards him, making him gravitate towards this episode and calling it his favorite one.

why the f**k would they put something like this in spongebob?
Okay I think I get it now, Alex doesn't understand how the muse works, allowing it to manipulate him. But this only goes so far as he's clearly not happy killing animals for it. The Cynical Critic has a muse too, which forced him to destroy things he loves. An allegory for this would be his scathing review of the Dark Knight, a movie which its shown he previously loved. Something he loved that he was forced to destroy, just for the attention of others. There was something about his mother too, maybe he did something to his mother that was a plot point.

I cannot lie that scene with patchy dying was scary as hell.
Yeah!
Are you gonna pin this comment, spongebob guy?
Oh, thanks!
He even sold his soul to spongebob of all people, maybe mr krabs wanted to make up for selling spongebob's soul for 62 cents

Question. Why does the Flying Dutchman return SpongeBob to Mr. Krabs after he traded him for 62 cents? His explanation was that it was a fate worse than death. Does Patchy/Dutchman secretly also hate Spongebob as well?

@Chase Studios Nah that would be the Goofy Goober Death Cult one~
The suffocating part and the convulsion part WHAT THE FUCK suffocating is one of my biggest fears and the convulsing jeez man
It should be mentioned that whenPatchy recovers from his anger in The Sponge That Could Fly, he does so by re-enacting his rage in reverse; in so doing putting everything back in place. This, if taken literally in stead of as an delusion, is also a form of time manipulation.
That's a huge piece of evidence right there that ties the this theory together
I love how SpongeBob’s humor is so absurd and surreal that we miss evidence like this due to it being relatively normal lol
Pretty Sure I remember Patchy warping time once to invite a caveman and a robot into his home to sing "when worlds collide"
@@HeadCasey 😂, yes!
Alex I know this is late but another really strange piece of evidence that you missed was in that same scene where you find the picture of pearls mother in his house, that same scene you can find a picture of a pirate that has deep resemblance to Patchy, having the skull on the hat and the same look as in the game card.
Mr Krabs knows Patchy confirmed?

(Just look it up on UA-cam and you'll see what I mean)
Now some people may be thinking, well if the Dutchman's job is a curse and he only steals souls and sends people to Davy Jones Locker because he has to, how come he seems to enjoy tormenting people while doing it?
You wrote so much that while I won’t read it, I will like for your dedication.
Great essay on your theory
Oh wow, very good theory! Well thought out and elaborated upon- enough that it'd be a good script for a video on it's own, if you don't mind me saying that.
Alex Bale said that it takes to time and effort to gain powers when your a ghost, any ghost can get powers and do what they basically want

Ikr?
Why are you always there?
I like how even if you're here more for the lore or for the theories the combination is undeniably enjoyable. I don't think it would be the same if it was one or the other by themselves. Both facets of this series are at their strongest when consumed in tandem with each other and I think that's incredibly cool.
The way he always manages to wrap up these theories is surprisingly thrilling
yes omg
I love how this man uses all spectrums of his talent of filmmaking. He’s able to incorporate his own cinematic talent while he breaks down other cinematic legacies like SpongeBob. It’s simply genius.
Also in the episode "Your shoes untied", SpongeBob goes to see the flying Dutchman, but after showing him different types of knots, SpongeBob asks if he can teach him how to tie his shoes. And then The Dutchman says he hasn't wore shoes for thousands of years. This proves it even more that The Dutchman is time traveling.
Good the theory 👌
Plus, pirates of his style (speaking English and wearing that clothing type) were around in the 17 to 18th centuries (300-400 years ago roughly). If time were running normally for him and he was wearing shoes 1000 years ago he would have looked more similar to a Viking. Also would have spoken Norse or Anglo Saxon most likely as his first language.
Chomik Gaming, that still means nothing tho, like look at DieLuftwaffle's comment. Also why wouldn't you believe something that the character himself said in the show.
Wouldn't that just mean he was dead for a long time? Where does the travel come in?
Also you Shark, read DieLuftWaffle's comment, he is saying that the clothes he is always wearing doesn't match the time period of his time

So, watching this I also noticed, 16:57 when you see the back of Patchy, the hair braid is the same as The Flying Dutchmans that are going off to the sides. Except Patchy has one while the Dutchman has two.
At this point, the suspense is NOT about the SpongeBob theories, it's about what is gonna happen next with the muse and Alex. Great work dude!

Pachy dieing in the sand both fuflills the comic saying he was never layer to rest while also making sence the line "this was the jacket i was buerried in" since he was technicly buerried. And the comic saying that his boddy was put to show after his Death in a store front could be seen as a telaphone version of his backstory, where the show creators pupitierd his likness after Death for monatary gain.
Insane comment. Never thought of it like this, that's a super clever idea.

There is the possibility that “Patchy was here.” Written on the dumpster was because he asked the French narrator to allow him to actually go to Bikini Bottom but he didn’t get to meet SpongeBob because SpongeBob was working at the time and they had to leave soon to prepare for the show to start.
I genuinely thought you added in that scene of patchy dying on the beach, but no. Legit feels like something out of a creepypasta
A theory about the theories.
HOLY FUCK YOU COULD BE RIGHT😨
What if...
Here me out
STEPHEN HILLENBURG WAS THE MUSE
or he just has no life
Wow cool theory! Idk
I do agree though this definitely does feel like some really cool marketing tactics I was just thinking it was his way of getting his name out there but maybe he is connected to SpongeBob
Surprised you didn't mention the episode "Ugh" where Patchy is shown to be filming his part of the show in prehistoric times. And while at first it seems to be just a low-budget film set, the T-Rex at the end is treated as real. Perhaps Patchy already had the ability to time travel when alive?
