For real. I watched that show by myself as a kid, watched Arnold freeze, broke down and had existential crisis, then went to ask my parents about what I saw. They told me about the cold infinite vacuum that is outer space and I've been fascinated and horrified for my entire life since. Alot of my friends never remembered that, or if they did they didn't really think about it at the time. Being an empathetic kid was weird and hard lmao 😂
@@theblurryblackcat It's a red herring. He put clues in the video. At 23:00, those silhouettes resemble the censored dudes in the HR. And don't feed the muse is all about cloning.
@@yepe9045 It shows that Arnold is probably aware of the fact he is a clone and doesn't want to die. The random offhand comment on the Arnold inside of Arnold possibly being "the body of the Arnold who froze in space" makes me really want to draw the kids forced to ride the bus with stand-ins of who might be missing, played by whatever is left of the old "them". Can you imagine how complacent you would become if the thawing, slightly decaying body of your classmate was sitting in the seat behind you? Perhaps even being forced to talk to it as if it were alive?
this makes me want to make an entire ANIMATED series for kids as simplistic as this just so it can have a crazy dark backstory for theories like this to pop up and be 100% legit
And make it so twisted & strange that when Mat Pat makes a video on Film theory on it no one will believe him & will continue to think he’s insane. But little does anyone know it’s the first theory he got right.
Okay, hear me out. Mrs. Frizzle is the grown-up version of Arnold's cousin from the episode he keeps referencing. She becomes so obsessed with the magic school bus and the field trips and all, that she grows up to find the magic school bus and becomes Mrs. Frizzle. She then recreates the field trips that she'd heard so much about but never got to experience for herself
Adding to this, what if instead of cloning the kids, she traveled back in time and snatched them up from the past or something. And she brought the previous people from the show [the producers] to help recreate the field trips to make them more accurate. idk
now that I can believe still like the idea of it being low risk, most likely clones cant quite remember the trips they died in. but remember enough not to make the same mistake.
@@zacimpaired9797 This is what I was thinking because of that one part where Arnold seems to remember a field trip that they hadn't gone on yet, so maybe taking them from alternate timelines or something.
I had no clue that the magic schoolbus even HAD lore. The clips of Arnold appearing and disappearing had me in shock, it’s cool to see old childhood shows have these plausible theories that really make you think deeper into it’s content.
Well, I don’t think that it’s proof. These weird quirky animation mistakes happen in production all the time. For example, in the first episode of season four of LEGO Ninjago:Masters of Spinjitzu, Cole is animated speaking a line in the voice actor of Jay’s voice. Implying that it was Jay’s line, but it got screwed somehow. This same thing happens several times in the older seasons, does that mean Jay and Cole are in some convoluted dual personality quirk? Probably not, I think the theory was semi solid until the double Arnolds appeared.
Fun fact: When Arnold took his helmet off, he shouldn't have frozen. He should have exploded. It removed all external pressure when you release the helmet, causing the internal pressure to push out. There is not enough mass of the body to hold it together, so, it simply explodes.
Well not quite explode. Blood vessels would burst and anything in your digestive system would come rushing out whatever end was closer. It’d suck and you’d go unconscious pretty quick from the lack of air, but there is a fair chance you might survive with maybe some blindness from the eye bleeding. Well, according to our best guess. We would need some “volunteers “ to actually find out how long you’d live in space
Not exactly...you don't just freeze and explode upon removing it like the movies..your blood vessels would surely expand and stuff and if you didn't hold your breathe whilst removing it your lungs should likely be fine and it'll buy you more time; you will have a killer headache though! You have roughly 10 seconds to get it back on and repressurized before too much damage is done, at 15 you'll black out, and at roughly 1 minute you die because at that point you have 0 oxygen your organs and they'd all die. We're not 100% you up and explode eventually because it's never happened before as that's something we can't really test, but you would eventually freeze due to the temperatures
The producers are the survivors. that explains why they make a show about it and try to cover it up anytime the audience ask questions about it. They are the only ones that know that there really is a magic school bus
I have a theory branch. The original Mrs frizzle was lonely as a child so she wished upon a star to have a twin just like her. That created fiona, her sister from the reboot. Unfortunately, she needed other people’s lives to live as she couldn’t survive as just stardust. They decided to create a bus that would take kids to the most dangerous places. It even tells people in the reboot that Mrs frizzle and her “sister” made the bus as kids. Then mrs frizzle got a job as a science teacher and threatened to take people to perish from their greatest fears if they told the secret. She didn’t want to do this, but she needed a few bodies to keep her sister alive. Eventually, she got all the bodies she needed and came back to her sister. She also used stardust from her sister and magic from the bus to clone them. One student made a deal with the teacher to become a lizard, three survived and the others perished. She also had to clone herself so her parents wouldn’t get suspicious , and grow herself up with the bus, explaining arnold. Eventually, her sister turned on her, threatening to harm her if she didn’t bring more bodies, as she had a newfound craving for them. She had to time travel for the original survivors to grow up. After this she cloned everyone who didn’t make it and started repeatedly doing this, even risking her own life for her sisters cravings so she doesn’t become lunch , without being cloned back to life again.eventually, she gave up and she had to tell the students her sister was taking over before she was eaten. Her sister eventually started harvesting kids herself, and having someone ré-clone her every time she didn’t make it back. People made this a show to prevent other kids from facing this as they already know all the science they need to, and also hiding messages in it.
I just looked this up. The og cast had three more kids so what happened to them. Mini fan theory, originally there was a crazy teacher who made the bus and the two producers and miss frizzle are the og tim wanda and Arnold plus the fair guy who might be raphi. A field trip then went so wrong it killed the teacher plus the other three. Because of their grief they keep going back in time making clones of everyone and watching them missing their dead friends. Also because of the grief they will do anything to keep these field trips going.
Imagine if in some alternate universe the magic school bus isn’t a fun, educational show for kids but instead a true crime documentary about all of the children who have died and been cloned due to Mrs. Frizzle’s negligence. Also sidenote imagine being one of the parents and finding out that your kid isn’t your kid but is actually a clone that was created after Mrs. Frizzle killed them.
Honestly, I’ve always wondered how the hell Ms. Frizzle managed to get away with everything. It’s also weird how many field trips she went on with her kids. Most schools have 1 maybe 2 field trips at the most.
Yeah but if these fieldtrips are unauthorized WITH MAGIC, then it would make sense that they'd be able to do so many of them. Especially if the Kids aren't saying anything about them on a regular basis..
@@darthestar8791 True. But most schools also require students to hand in a specific amount of physical work to ensure the school stays operational. How many times has Frizzle assigned actual school work to be turned in to the district?
Another person who looks a lot like a child version of Ms. Frizzle is Arnold's cousin Janet. She could be a grown up version of Janet which would also explain why Ms. Frizzle seems to single out Arnold and why she's so comfortable with Janet randomly joining on their field trips. Janet also has a more adventurous personality like Ms. Frizzle while Arnold is more timid. Sure traits like that can change over time but I think there's equal if not more likeliness that Ms. Frizzle is grown up Janet.
Even though the Doppelganger theory is just held together with a few animation mistakes, it genuinely is pretty cool that the direct implication is that two of the students grew up and made the show to share their childhood experiences learning about science with the world. That's way more wholesome than I was expecting, and it seems pretty plausible that that's actually the actual intent of the series. Cool stuff!
As for the "Doppleganger"s well I mean the buss CAN time travel.... Would it be much of a stretch for the buss to go back to just before Arnold took off his helmet and grab him? It's not a clone its just Arnold from a different timeline....
@@dracocrusher More like: "You're coming on this field trip one way or another!" "B-But Miss Frizzle, it's a Sunday!" "Great! I'll pick you up for today's field-trip tomorrow morning." "Wha-?" *Miss Fizzle in a sing song voice* TIME TRAAVAAALLLL!" (The buss then teliports one day into the future to pick him up for the Sunday field trip... When it re-materializes in front of his house he sees his future self looking out the window at him....)
@@Cdlawrence Or what if it was just time travel shenanigans this whole time.... The bus can canonically travel through time and space.... Temporal duplicates created through time praradox's wouldn't be a big stretch... (Arnold maybe died, they went back in time to prevent his death, and brought back the Arnold from the alternate timeline he didn't die in....) This is of course assuming that his space suit didn't have some sort of cryogenic fail-safe built in.... (From what I understand he should have been literally boiling before freezing because of waters low boiling point in low pressure environments such as space...)
I like to imagine Alex researching the video by just staring down every episode of the magic school bus in the dark taking notes on each episode Edit: thank you for internet points, this is most internet points I have ever got.
Considering the fact that the previous ‘SpongeBob Guy' episode was based around Dopplegangers, getting an actual doppelgänger theory feels oddly self fulfilling. And I love it!
about the "the kids are *clones* of the adults" part, I find it more likely that they are *future* versions of the kids, since, we are shown that the time travel IS real, so what's to stop them from going back in time? also I know it causes a paradox but hear me out on this one
Okay but I get the feeling that Janet basically being Arnold's twin and yet is referred to as his cousin is suspicious, and I feel like she could be linked to frizzle as well. On top of that, doesn't it seem like Arnold is picked on more than the others in the show? It gets really unsettling when you look at the context of what Arnold is basically telling Janet: "You wanna bring back evidence about our trip to space, here's what will happen! *proceeds to off himself*" - it's less of him wanting to die over exposing the show and more of him killing himself before Frizzle can enact whatever terrifying punishment she has for Arnold after he exposed the field trips to Janet and Janet turned out to be unloyal to the school bus, and Arnold was simultaneously warning her that if she does expose the secrets of the field trips she'll die too.
I feel like it would be more likely that Janet has a connection to Mrs. Frizzle, since she basically is a female Arnold and is someone who wasn’t punished after breaking the rules, or atleast not directly. If she is Frizzle, then that would show why she forces children to do these field trips and why she had her students make it into a show, because it was her ‘PROOF’, since she originally wanted proof that she had been in space, but this desire could have grown over time to wanting proof for being to all these strange and impossible places. I feel this would make more sense than a female Arnold.
I 100% agree. I wonder why he said Arnold. I understand the stuff he went over, but then she would just be going over past field trips she went on as a kid. It makes more sense if it is Janet and the reason she picks on Arnold is because he refused to let her get evidence.
fun fact: in the depths of the feed the muse arg I was so thoroughly engrossed in the secret hunting that I fully believed the Raid sponsorship was part of it and I proceeded to almost actually download Raid. Scariest time of my life
The episode with Arnold taking off his helmet always stuck with me the most because I knew how messed up that actually should have been. Now I know I wasn't wrong.
knowing some parts of this theory from originally watching it but forgetting some bits, as soon as you said "pickle theory" i was like "awwww hell nah man"
Honestly... this gives a whole new definition of “eerie” to my childhood. So many teachers just nonchalantly put this on but deep down I felt something was off about the show, shit was like a bad trip. Thank you for your intellectuality and capability to figure out these sort of things hidden by the writers. Thank you for continually blowing my mind.
This theory is way more involved than mine was. I just always assume that Wanda and Tim were the grown up producers that created the magic school bus based off of the real trips they took in Miss frizzles (possibly a made-up name) class when they were kids. They always got nervous because those field trips actually happened but they are trying to play it off like it's impossible
I wonder why nobody mentioned the grand father paradox we have seen the school bus go back in time and we have seen the Producers doing stuff they loved as a kid. And what if tims grandfathers bee farm is just his bee farm he is his grandfather. That would explain it. And what if ms frizzle is Arnolds daughter trying to save her father. But she always fails so she has to make clones of him. What if she first came there to just safe Arnold from Lifting his Helmet and what if she needs the Kids to stabilize time.
If you watched the Magic School bus reboot. Phoebe is the first kid to have escaped and gotten away from Ms Frizzle and her manipulations…….that’s if this theory is true.
I WANT YOU TO ADD SOMETHING TO THIS THEORY.... There is a show from the 70s called the Kingdom Of Could Be You... there is an old man on this show called The Wizard. The Wizard also uses magic to take children on a trip for learning. JUST LIKE MS FRIZZLE and the MAGIC SCHOOL BUS.... I think the Wizard of COULD BE YOU is the father or grand father of MS FRIZZLE.
There's one problem with this theory: The students (All except Arnold) are very excited and feel very happy about the trips, not what they would feel like if they "feared the consequences"
Tbh if my teacher told me we were shrinking down and/or going on any of these field trips I would 100% want to go on them even with the possibility of death and clonification. I have always loved science especially as a child. I would love to be shrunk down and go inside a human body to study anatomy and biology even today if it were possible.
Holy shit.. The Arnold Being inside Arnold thing gave me actual chills (Thanks for the likes and bro istg the part when he showed mrs frizzles pic of herself that pic scared the absolute shit out of me. Y’all notice that too?)
I always thought that the producers were like... Older versions of the kids who were actually on the bus. Primarily because they each seem to have a younger counterpart that was part of the bus cast
Another thing we can easily notice, is that where the teacher is dressed up as a vampire when she comes up to Rolphy he instantly smiles, almost like he’s keeping how the teacher treats them…
Same here. I remember being terrified of this moment and even though I loved the show, whenever an episode started I remember checking which episode it was and if it was this one I would immediately turn the TV off. Watching it here in the video after so many years of actively avoiding this moment gave me chills over and over again. Also, when I saw he made a theory involving the magic school bus, I instantaneously knew this episode was gonna be a big part of it.
Alex, I have another 2nd arnold thing. But it's in the sequel. In the first episode of The Magic School bus rides again, Arnold leaves the class and gets the new Mrs frizzles plant, and in the next few seconds, I see another arnold with the class. I don't think it's a coincidence anymore. And you were right.
The magic school bus can be one of two things 1. there is no real life being so there is cartoon producers inside of a screen 2. its the turman show spinoff
@@joekerr5418 When you think about it, it honestly could be. I just find it a bit suspicious that the very next theory after "Don't Feed the Muse", is about doppelgängers replacing groups of people that fear a powerful entity that they have no choice but to accept, and disguising it as a fictional TV show or film as to not draw too much attention to it.
Did anyone else notice that at 22:21 next to the bus there’s shoes that look like Ralphies? This also proves the doppelgänger theory with there being reminisce of the dead children, (like shoes or clothes) but somehow the children appear again, unharmed, and not missing anything.
My theory on how they clone the doppelgängers is that they take a part of the dead kids body while it’s still fresh, put it in a petri dish or something, and grow them back from scratch as the bus speeds up the process or something (I assume the bus would be able to do so since it can time travel so there’s a possibility it might be able to control time too). That’s maybe why they rushed Arnold home so quickly, because they needed his fresh body to make a new doppelgänger. It would also explain why the doppelgänger has no memories of their other field trips. Or they use the parts in Mrs. Frizzles classroom and build a new one.
This is some fucking peak advertisement, I honestly didn't even consider skipping it cus it was that good! Why can't every youtuber promote ads and sponsors like this???
The idea of doppelgängers in the show reminds me of that one episode where there were copies of the kids that were made out of light when they went inside some kind of pinball machine
I love how Alex is *actually* making theories. After all, those videos do gather a lot of views for the channel. To not mention how the last Muse video gathered less views because it wasn't titled as a SpongeBob theory neither did it have the thumbnail. Honestly, it's kinda sad that in the end Alex is right about people only caring about the theories.
Why is it sad? His theories are amazingly well done. Theories are something to speculate and think about, which is more interesting than watching something from a genre that not so many people care about. After all, he said, that he enjoys making theory videos, so if that’s the content more people are interested in, that’s not sad, that’s just how it is.
I mean, Why wouldn't they? Alex's channel grew from the theories and thus gathered theorists as main viewers , other things might gather different viewers, but it won't necessarily be the same, so the shift won't always work. If a "Dark lore" type channel like Nexpo would suddenly upload a Vlog of him watching Icarly, it probably won't get many views But a channel who does these kinds of vlogs that'll upload it, would gain a lot of views.
@@chayse1225 Same. I like conspiracy theories and spongebob so I subbed. I'm sure his arg project is good with all the effort he's put in, but whenever it showed up out of no where during the sponge episodes took me out of the experience.
in the immune system episode, wasn't there a subtle hint that the Friz never gets sick? I was surprised you left that out, that is...superhuman to say the least
I hated that episode honestly and I remember really not liking Mrs. frizzle when I learned that. Then the next thing I remember is I started liking her.. super interesting
Yeah, but is it the magic school bus that resurrects her or is it the producers that make her a clone? Also, there has to be multiple magic school busses if there are ones that are discarded, right? How are they made?
That scene where Arnold takes off his helmet scared me as a kid. I was telling my family about it recently and thought I was the only one who remembered this weirdly dark part of the show haha
Random headcanon: The disappearing arnold, that shows up in impossible places, is actually previous arnold's ghost, due to how he A: can't seem to interact with anyone and/or contribute anything, and B: disappears immediately in the next scene.
As a kid, I always assumed Miss Frizzle was related to Arnold and his cousin. She seemed to favor him over every other student, and they looked so similar. The other option would be that she favored him because of their similarities and that he reminded her of herself. That picture on the wall could also literally be Miss Frizzle when she was younger, not related to Arnold at all, but still, it seemed obvious he was her favorite student. It would've been weird in real life and wouldn't fly today, but as a kid, it made perfect sense.
actually who cares what you thought as a child, ur theory is bland as is everyone else’s who is SCRAMBLING to suggest how miss frizzle couldn’t possibly be trans. submit to the pickle theory sheeple
The more wholesome version of this theory is that, yes the producers were the kids originally on the bus and just cast kids who reminded them of their class. The show is being broadcast so obviously some of the producer segments that make it “seem real” are added in to make the show more fun for the kids watching (do love the video tho very happy the pickle theory was in here)
Those other background Arnolds are actually the original Arnold's ghost. Ghosts do exist in the show, and it would make sense why he disappears between shots. Forced to go on field trips even tho he doesnt want to.
That's also my first conclusion when he mentioned it, the clone theory doesn't explain why he immediately disappeared after whereas him being a ghost did
When I was in grade 1, I remember seeing the episode when Arnold takes of his space suit and feeling horrified by it. Then when it showed that he had just gotten sick I found it incredibly hard to believe. This theory just makes way too much sense to only be a theory...
The thing I love most about the Arnolds where he shouldn't be is that it's not, like, a single piece of a character that was colored wrong, it was the animation team accidentally animating an entire-ass character when they weren't supposed to. I wonder if those scenes/character animations were reused from other episodes/shots.
Or his role was changed and those are the missed shots. Like, maybe he originally wasn’t the subject, but it was changed late into it and they missed 2 spots.
This creeped me out every single morning I like every single time I replay this video like something's very dark about learning process something that you don't remember something that is dark even though your kids don't know
Arnold is always saying stuff like “I should of stayed home today.” And it seems like miss frizzle knows EVERYTHING about the students (and if you watch the episodes it feels like all this is wrong so Alex bale you should make a part 2 to explain more)
I had a nightmare on the magic school bus where the students faces were hollow and mis frizzle was constantly singing "this is my personal tomb" over and over non stop and I was terrified
THEY CONFIRMED IT!!!! Sorta. I was watching the reboot on Netflix (Don’t ask why) And in the first episode the new Ms. Frizzle says AND I QUOTE “I haven’t lost a kid yet… this year.” “Hah, Kidding. Or am I? You’ll never know.” I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!
Dude, Arnold removing his helmet on Pluto *STUCK* with me as a kid. 7 year old me could not stop thinking about the real world consequences of removing one's helmet in space so much so that that scene has vividly stuck in my head TO THIS DAY as an adult.
The Arnold freezing his head bit is arguably the most iconic scene from the series other than that bopper of a theme. Like, as a kid it’s all anyone talked about.
I jokingly thought to myself “Oh, did Arnold transition?” when Alex made the comparison to Ms. Frizzle but the mad man actually found evidence for that theory. Mad respect.
yeah. i still think its not true but you know, it could be. imo im going with the cloning process going wierd like maybe the original arnold was a girl, OR ms frizzle isnt even one of the originals. also could be arnolds cousin. but i actually think ms frizzle is just some random person.
Lmao I said “trans Arnold?” as a joke and then he proceeded to explain why it’s fact lmao I kinda thought he was gonna say ms frizzle was the sister cuz she also seems to know a lot about the school bus and has shown a liking to it in the past, not to mention that the sister isn’t around a lot, so it allows for Mrs frizzle to be on the show without people making comparisons to Arnold. The entire pickle thing could have also been explained by the guy explaining how the sister likes pickles
i think sense this only happens to arnold.. it has to be his girl cuzz. trying to fit in. blend in. and then the show cast notices and kicks her out. lol. some time. she dressed up like a boy so she can get on the bus trip and arnold has to stay behind.. so ... its possible

@@ltericdavis2237 You would swell up a bit too. VSauce made a video about it.
He. Can't explodde inlets he holds his breath
@HorridCaesar well, it’s not exclusively the oxygen. Thankfully, you wouldn’t explode. You’d only slowly suffocate! Yay!
Dang that’s crazy
Jesus I thought I was the only one who knew the producers are the kids grown up and they was tired of the kids education
I always thought they were the og kids!!

Old TV shows do this all the time to show that characters are related.

This theory is way more involved than mine was.
Honestly, your theory is much less of a stretch and probably what the actual producers of the show were going for.

Arnold dying of freezing by removing his helmet hands-down is like the darkest moment in a magic school bus
I hated that scene as a kid
It's not that deep man, just take a deep breath
Arnold is always saying stuff like “I should of stayed home today.” And it seems like miss frizzle knows EVERYTHING about the students (and if you watch the episodes it feels like all this is wrong so Alex bale you should make a part 2 to explain more)
I agree on the last part
I agree with you please make a part 2
I agree😊

“Ms. Frizzle, sorry, why exactly are you dumping that large tub of pills with an ‘E’ on it into Arnold’s bloodstream?”
I had a nightmare on the magic school bus where the students faces were hollow and mis frizzle was constantly singing "this is my personal tomb" over and over non stop and I was terrified
Lmao
but why did i also have a dream ab magic school bus
I love nightmares like that

@@mckennademaray Same, even my self still remember the scene when arnold die until now lols..
THEY CONFIRMED IT!!!! Sorta. I was watching the reboot on Netflix (Don’t ask why) And in the first episode the new Ms. Frizzle says AND I QUOTE “I haven’t lost a kid yet… this year.” “Hah, Kidding. Or am I? You’ll never know.” I AM NOT MAKING THIS UP!
omg i was just thinking of that lmao
That’s true
WTF?
thats frizzles sister. not original frizzle

Dude, Arnold removing his helmet on Pluto *STUCK* with me as a kid. 7 year old me could not stop thinking about the real world consequences of removing one's helmet in space so much so that that scene has vividly stuck in my head TO THIS DAY as an adult.
Me too! It honestly gave me an irrational fear of taking off my helmet in space, even though I could never possibly be in that situation
You're not alone. It's 11 years for me since I've watched it and it stuck with me tbh

15:30 "if you miss a field trip, become the field trip" is CRAZY 💀💀💀
I love how so many innocent kid's shows like this accidentally leave implications of horrific things
really makes you wonder if its _truly_ accidental
and it is.
The amount of existential fear i got from hearing “if you miss the Field Trip you become the Field Trip”
I laughed at that sentence

The Arnold freezing his head bit is arguably the most iconic scene from the series other than that bopper of a theme. Like, as a kid it’s all anyone talked about.
Yeah, The only seen that comes close is the time they were j***ed on
Edit: Context -> ua-cam.com/video/gdNrs9RLn_Q/v-deo.html
Not even the episode where they go into Arnold’s mouth for a field trip.
when i was little i had a nightmare about the lizard and it haunted me for years afterward
I jokingly thought to myself “Oh, did Arnold transition?” when Alex made the comparison to Ms. Frizzle but the mad man actually found evidence for that theory. Mad respect.
Ms. Frizzle is a Trans icon
I was like "Wait-" absolutely powerful
yeah. i still think its not true but you know, it could be. imo im going with the cloning process going wierd like maybe the original arnold was a girl, OR ms frizzle isnt even one of the originals. also could be arnolds cousin. but i actually think ms frizzle is just some random person.
Lmao I said “trans Arnold?” as a joke and then he proceeded to explain why it’s fact lmao
I kinda thought he was gonna say ms frizzle was the sister cuz she also seems to know a lot about the school bus and has shown a liking to it in the past, not to mention that the sister isn’t around a lot, so it allows for Mrs frizzle to be on the show without people making comparisons to Arnold.
