Hi everyone. Currently in accident & emergency after consuming smoothie #3. Might not upload for a while until my vital signs return back to baseline. Enjoy the video xx
Hi Joe. Hope you’re feeling a bit better. Your food prep videos are fantastic and give great inspiration for quick tasty meals. Unfortunately I’ve had a restrictive eating disorder for over a decade, resulting in very low body weight at times and a near daily struggle with food and movement/exercise compulsions. Trying to finally properly break free from it now after so many failed attempts over the years. I’m wondering if you find the weighing, measuring, macro/calorie calculating to be a stressful and anxiety ridden process. I’ve tried using apps, looking at labels, etc but end up completely stuck in spirals of restriction and orthorexia when I do. Could you ever see yourself eating and preparing food by eye and what you feel like eating, rather than the rigid portioning and calculating? Obviously if you have a goal of specifically cutting body weight then the accuracy of amounts plays a part, bit in general, is a more easy going attitude more sustainable longterm? I do understand my case is completely different to yours as you don’t have an eating disorder! Would really appreciate your opinion. CJ
@@chrisjenkins1487 yeah I feel you. Just eat and be happy in the body god gave you. Everything works out fine when we shift our focus away from negativity and insecurity
Honestly i didnt really care too much about the smoothies but i still clicked on the video because Joe is a sound lad who can make fun content out of most things and i did end up enjoying it
Hey mate, I got into all this "knowing more about how nutrition stuff works" like 2 years ago, watched a lot of your channel, got myself lean, and without getting into any detail, I just want to say that your channel is awesome! So much no-bull truth ^_^, cheers, keep it up.
SoCal Spring Breakfast Smoothie 70g frozen Dragonfruit 70g frozen mango/blueberry 5g frozen passionfruit for the tang 1 banana 1 kiwi, peeled Dash o cinnamon Nice pinch of salt 8g maple syrup As much whey protein as you like 120g whole milk Water to top it off No idea how accessible dragonfruit is, but it's choice.
2 tips for you Joe from 2 moderately lean accountants in London 1. Xanthan Gum is sick ingredient to thicken up watery shakes. It’s a cheeky food additive. When cutting, sometimes I’ll overpour H2O on purpose, and use the gum to thicken it up, to lower calories, maintain thickness & increase fullness 2. Spinach has little flavour, so blending it up with a strong protein powder/other tasty stuff is easy way to consume rhino-loads of spinach and vitamins.
Fully recommend people to try out Pea Milk as an alternative to get some extra protein in, mine is 3,5grams of protein per 100ml, compared to Oats which stands at 1gram, plus there’s the added benefit that peas have the least environmental impact
I tried the salted caramel powder for a while as per Joe's suggestions, but some time ago I decided to stop following influencer suggestions for such decisions, and I bought chocolate honeycomb instead.. .. Only to find out afterwards that chocolate honeycomb is another fav of Joey's 😭
my tastiest high protein shake looks like this: 50g strawberry-cream whey isolate (from MyProtein) 175g high-protein greek yoghurt (danone yopro is good) 200g mixed frozen berries 200ml soy lite 470 cal, 69P/34C/5F cut the yoghurt to lose 120 cal+21P for a slightly lower cal version
There's one i Denmark they call butterfly (dont ask me why) - it's awesome! I usually just wing the amounts but it looks kinda like this: 40 g vanilla whey 150 g frozen strawberries 300 ml of some sort of liquid ideally milk of sort 30 g almonds 15 g dark chocolate
Strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, blackberries (from mixed berry frozen bag), scoop of choc or vanilla whey protein, ice, some low fat no sugar yogurt, one banana and almond milk. I have one of these most days to get all my fruit in plus some protein how many calories would you say this is?
Pleasant video ! Good stuff ! I am doing shakes for centuries now and the master question is : how do you avoid protein powder from sticking on the sides of the mixerbottle/shakerthing ? Thats a huge turn down. Gets me uppercut by my girl
I think the order you add it in is probably the main factor. You could always just shake your protein powder and milk together in a shaker first, then add it already mixed.
Had absolutely zero intentions of making any of these because I ain't got a blender, but gotta watch it for the Joey D anyway - thoroughly enjoyed mate
Great recipes ideas, always in search for some strange way to add extra calories and protein after my workout (definitely trying ginger in my next shake for extra kick)
Can't go wrong with a strawberry/banana with vanilla whey also. And one I've tried recently which was bomb was banana and peanut butter with chocolate whey.
Spirulina smoothie is amazing too. banana strawberries vitamin C powder 2 ice cubes 1 tbs of spirulina powder 3 tbs of oats 1 tbs of honey Almond milk That's my personal go to smoothie
This one lacks protein but my favorite smoothie of all time. 1 banana Frozen chunks of pineapple Little ice Knob of ginger Spinach Kale Water (but not too much)
This smoothie is what I've used as my preworkout "meal" for over a decade. It remains the "meal" I look forward to the most: 1 banana 50g frozen berries/fruit of choice 50g frozen spinach 10g ginger 10ml MCT Oil (optional - has 90 calories) 80-120g oats (depending on cutting or bulking) 400ml milk of choice (I've used skimmed milk, soya milk, oat milk, you name it, they all work) 20g of protein powder Optional: a hint of cinnamon I usually drink it an hour before working out (and a pre-workout 10mins before working out). I always feel great in the gym
Holy shit, the green machine smoothy is BOSS!! game changer!!! that ginger brings the whole smoothy to life. Lots and lots of ginger 🤣. Cheers for the guidance my mate 🙏
Lethal Smoothie: 1 banana 30g peanut butter 5g honey Scoop of vanilla and raspberry protein 100g frozen strawberries Squirt of honey 150ml of apple juice 150ml almond milk
I find that smoothies dont make you full for long, so I add Xanthan gum, but if you dont like that you can use chia seeds. If you dont add too many its kinda like the seeds from strawberries.
Hey man how you doing, I was watching your video on how to create a diet and it was like a year old so I wanted to come to a more recent one for advice, I want to start going to the gym but before that I want to create a routine with a diet I can follow without feeling tired or hungry all the time wich is the problem I had with all the other diets I tried before, I would appreciate the help from you or anyone that reads the comment and has some knowledge about this.
1 banana Handful blueberries 1 Scoop peanut butter Load of kale 40/50g of oats Quater teaspoon turmeric Crack of black pepper Scope of protein powder 10 grams of chia seeds Top up with water Boom 💥
Hey if anyone could give me an information about this i would appreciate it So my little sister (16yo) is very skinny and i have made a nice diet for her to get some weight (a bulk) and in this diet it includes a shaker or a smoothie like this (without whey or anything) , that shaker has around 1000cal and my question is : is it harmful for her to have than many cal in one take especially that she is kinda young , i could maybe split that shaker in two , one morning one night ? Her calories maintenance is around 1400 , Should the diet have +1000cal than the maintenace since she is a girl havin some fat wont be deadly for her (actually could be good )

same thing for every video :D and still some good, useful info.
Same. I don't even own a blender and was still all, "oh, snap, new Joey D"

Been looking for smoothies in the "just because they're nice" category, thanks joe
That's my favourite category.
Almost nostalgic, your old smoothie video was the first the algo threw at me and been loving the content ever since.
Putting the smoothies in a wine glass is such a classy touch. Really elevates the experience.

Idk man the xanthan gum, gives a weird texture which is hard to describe. Like jelly like? I personally don't rate it. Or I'm using too much idk ahha
Yeah I love adding spinach to protein smoothies and do so whenever I can. You never taste the spinach but it adds a good nutrient punch

you are so funny. and btw looking forward to the strawberry/peanutbutter one

How can you not afford an 18 quid blender from Amazon? 😂
@@Skengman334 There's not a chance an £18 blender lasts more than 2 weeks haha
@@Skengman334 those ones are awful. If blender is required to crush ice, it needs to be minimum 80.euros
These protein shakes are definitely ideal

strawberry- banana-milk-whey and some oatmeal is my every day breakfast this past year, never got bored of it. Such a great way to start your day
1:32 why are fridge drawers made with the flimsiest plastic?
Spirulina smoothie is amazing too.

The term is "juice" for the things that don't have a teat you can get milk from.
The last smoothie video you did was the first video I saw on this channel. So I guess it’s come full circle now😅
Can you run us through your current training plan? Week of exercise maybe? Include cardio and stretching x
no 3 looked unreal😅 Definitely have to save that one for bulking

1 banana
Frozen chunks of pineapple
Little ice
Knob of ginger
Spinach
Kale
Water (but not too much)

50g frozen berries/fruit of choice
50g frozen spinach
10g ginger
10ml MCT Oil (optional - has 90 calories)
80-120g oats (depending on cutting or bulking)
400ml milk of choice (I've used skimmed milk, soya milk, oat milk, you name it, they all work)
20g of protein powder
Optional: a hint of cinnamon
I usually drink it an hour before working out (and a pre-workout 10mins before working out). I always feel great in the gym
