Something that is not mentioned: The thing creaks without end when you attach it to the table. Even a 4cm oak plate with the extreme top-heaviness of the ring light results in a rocking which is immediately acknowledged by the most annoying creaking. The light can only be used with a separate tripod and you must not touch it under any circumstances. Elgato has unfortunately failed to give the light a stable chassis and has used simple plastic. If the lower part had been equipped with an aluminum or magnesium body, everything would have been great - but as it is now, the product simply cannot be used for streaming at the table.
I believe you’re supposed to leave it powered on but turn it on/off with the command app on your phone or computer that controls all of elgatos lights.
Same thing happens if your phone battery is full and you keep it charging for hours, YOUR PHONE WILL GET HOT ASWELL, SO YOU NEED TO UNPLUG TILL IT COOLS DOWN! 👍
