That would be the coolest thing ever. Bonzo and Ward are the foundation for all things awesome about heavy music. Period. 💯 👌🏾 So much power but, so much finesse. We wouldn't have Dave Grohl or Jimmy Chamberlain (2 of my generation's heaviest hitters who also have a certain amount of finesse) without them.
Never in a million years while I was growing up in the 70s terrifying my parents with Black Sabbath would I have imagined them all to be so gentle and soft spoken. Well, I suppose Ozzy can be a bit of a clown at times, but for the most part they come across as amazing humble gentlemen.
I had the great experience of being in the studio while Black Sabbath were recording Technical Ecstasy. Bill Ward was very humble & treated everyone with the utmost respect. Here shared so much about John Bonham & his white Slingerland drum kit that was setup for recording in the studio in Miami. Not one day passes where I do not play Master of Reality to hear Bills Iconic off beat snare timing.
Bill Ward is a true legend and a treasure. I love Sabbath, but can't forgive him not being included in the latest tour. Last band I thought would ever be such traitors over money!
Very inspiring. So nice to hear about John Bonham from a legend drummer Bill Ward along with Carmine Appice. Thank you for posting this nice video. \_/
JUST BOUGHT 3 PIECES OF HIS ART WORK!!! STILL SUPPORTING THE DRUMMER!!!!!! LONG LIVE AND FOREVER LIVING THROUGH HIS RHYTHMS , THE ONE , THE ONLY MIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIISTER BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILL WARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
altho on "13" Brad Wilks did a great job and was about the closest thing to Bill as one could get, Sabbath is not, and will never be, Sabbath .. without Bill Ward.
Agreed ! And Tommy Clufetos SUCKS ! Same drum beat for virtually every Ozzy/Sabbath era song & solo material ! And what's up with those flailing chicken arms ? He came from Slob Zombie's band & as to why Ozzy picked him up is beyond me !? Dragula & Children of the Grave sound the same 🤪
Love that he said "Make some Mistakes" because if you let it all hang out you discover things about music and yourself. Absolutely, what I tell my kids is "Give yourself the freedom to Fuck up."
It’s NAMM, a musical instruments trade expo. Many people in the “room” (which is huge) indeed weren’t listening, they were looking at guitar pedals or interviewing cymbal manufacturers.
Watch the first reunion Sabbath did - ever. In Orange County, when Sabbath with Halford on vocals opened for Ozzy's "No More Tours" 'final show. They came out and did 4 songs, with Bill on Randy Castillo's kit. He played the kit SO much better than Randy did (RIP: a fine drummer too) and his timing and power is impeccable. I wish people would stop chatting in the background. Like who the fuck wants to talk and not listen to bill ward talking about knowing John Bonham!? Rude
Been listening from before I was born....March 1970 from in the womb. Bonham is in the DNA. I don't know why Tavistock is pushing garbage music for the last 40 years because you get more flies with Honey. A la Zeppelin.
i think he might have that desease where they have to wear gloves sometimes, why i don't' know but it is a desease of some kind. unless he's just wearing them for the heck of it lol.
Sudsy Sutherland His hands are his lively hood, they probably insured, kind of strange, being Bonzo beat his drums with his hands and played bare foot!
Carmine was a good friend of John's and deserves a fair amount of credit not just for his own great playing with the fudge, but for influencing bonzo's ludwig deal and getting zep to the USA in the first place. Learn the history before you talk shit about people, dude.
Yeah, he may give the best speech ever on being a super cool decent respectful and whatever musician and have the absolute best perspective on caring for and nurturing all the kids coming up now - but - he will NEVER live down those red tights he was wearing on the cover of Sabotage. I'm SCARRED from that, Bill. S C A R R E D! I have irreparable damage deep within my psyche from those tights. I wake up at night in a cold sweat because of those. The doctors say there's nothing that can be done about it, I'm damaged goods and it's all because of those tights :'(
Carmine was the one who got Bonham his first big Ludwig set. It had 2 bass drums. Jimmy page decided it was too much and they dropped one of the bass drums. Not like Bonham needed it...
It was a disgrace of epic proportions that Bill Ward wasn't included in Sabbath's the end.I refused to see them!!!!I saw the real Sabbath countless times.I am a better drummer than Tommy clufetos. He bangs like a fool and couldn't shine Bill Wards shoes!!!!!....
Give me Bill was better on a single bass drum then double I wish you would have just stuck with that his whole career I'm not taking anything away from him he's one of my biggest influences of all the time when it comes to drumming easily especially with Sabbath Bloody Sabbath sabotage technical ecstasy Never say die in heaven and hell. He was one of those first drummers that really opened my eyes up to the potential of me being a drummer and two other guys I can think of early on before I really got into the absolute Geniuses of drumming like Neil Peart Bill bruford Billy Cobham Terry Bozzio Vinnie colaiuta Steve gadd Chad wackerman Tony Williams Chester Thompson and Peter Erskine. I always thought John Bonham was a genius I just never really got into Led Zeppelin like I did other bands like The Who and Keith Moon. But there were times where I really focused on his drumming like House of the Holy and Physical Graffiti the drumming on this two albums just mind-boggling. In through the outdoor presence and Coda were great albums too. I absolutely love the presence. But Bill Ward was an absolute beast on the drum set a good example is Black Sabbath live at Asbury Park 1975 that drum solo that he does on there along with that bass solo is one of the baddest things you will ever hear. I wish John Bonham was around to tell us Bill Ward stories and praise him as well.
Joey Ravage Bonzo would, he was classy.

@@solomonlee5298 Who's keeping up the Paice tho?
I am Paice is my first hero
bill.ward...not only one of the best metal drummers of all time but just a real down to earth, awesome humble man.Godspeed bill!
The only man that could of legitimately replaced John Bonham, after his passing in Led Zeppelin.
100 friggin %. They could have switched bands and each band would have stayed the same
😂😂😂
Never in a million years...You clearly have no idea about drumming
@@alexscott730 You don't have to know about drumming to hear the similarities in their playing
And made them better.
This guy is too modest, real classy. Listen to Bill Ward......
Ward and Bonham are rock drumming gods.
Bill Ward is monster... Bonzo and Ward .....greatest drummers ever
According to Tony Iommi’s book, Bonham broke some of Ward’s drums when he played his kit and Ward never let him sit at his kits again 😂
True story ✅
I heard that.

Love this guy! Beautiful Soul - one of the worlds best and an awesome honor at bonzobash for Bill Ward #legend
Bill Ward is a true legend and a treasure. I love Sabbath, but can't forgive him not being included in the latest tour. Last band I thought would ever be such traitors over money!
Yeah mate I think you gotta thank Mrs Osborne for all that shit
Maybe so, but I'm sure Geezer and Tony were to blame too. They all could have agreed to split 25 percent each as well off as they are.
Walking Wounded it's Sharon osbourne....the Yoko ono of metal
Very inspiring. So nice to hear about John Bonham from a legend drummer Bill Ward along with Carmine Appice. Thank you for posting this nice video. \_/
Toca muito sr. BILL WARD, acho demais aquelas sequências na bateria, para cada música um estilo único. Obrigado , valeu mesmo! 😀😃😎
Seems Bill is very modest of his own talent in respect to John Bonham where he himself is just as worthy.
There's some very telling advice at the end of his talk relating a band I recently saw with someone else sitting in his seat.
A well deserved award.
He always comes across as a thoroughly nice guy.
Fantastic drummer, too... I'd love to see him play again. Don't know if we ever will :-(
Bonham,Ward, Paice & Downey, the best rock drummers ever!
JUST BOUGHT 3 PIECES OF HIS ART WORK!!!

Bill loved Bonham's playing so much. What's that's say about Bonzo.
That was classy and inspirational. The man made me smile. Thanks Bill.
Bill Ward is also a bad ass drummer!
Love Bill Ward...No Sabbath without him
Also, does he not know how bad ass his drumming is????
Awesome Bill! Thank you for sharing!

The real deal Bill Ward! Now that Jimmy Page is putting a band together he would be perfect
jimmy is retired.
We’re still waiting
A legend...
Bonham was best man in Tony's 1st marriage.
Tony was best man at Bonhams wedding
Long Live Sabbath!!!!!
Bill Ward: Legend and Drum God 🔥🙏🔥
Bill "The Wizard" Ward!
sounds like everyones busy talking;and not even listening to him

A true class act!
bills a great drummer.. and i think hes took up welding by those gloves
And thanks to Brian for putting these together. Looks like the Moby Dicks were ready to play...

Best part of this is that Carmine does not speak...
WTF, get that Natal BS off the stage and honor Bonham with the drums he played...LUDWIG!
Love Bill but whats with the gloves???
I know the gloves are a mystery.
steven m in his spare time he likes to practice arc welding
I wish people would stop chatting in the background. Like who the fuck wants to talk and not listen to bill ward talking about knowing John Bonham!? Rude
Agreed. I'd be completely silent and on cloud nine just listening to him.

Love Bill Ward. Question though, what's with the weird gloves?
He'd just finished a spot of welding I think.
i think he might have that desease where they have to wear gloves sometimes, why i don't' know but it is a desease of some kind. unless he's just wearing them for the heck of it lol.

jblan131 Bonham wore tennis shoes when he played. He never played bare foot.
such a nice dude.- Chip Barkhouse The Drummist

Any idea why Bill is wearing those big gloves?
Can anyone say anything bad about Bill Ward?
Is that microphone red hot?!?!?
Carmine is not even in the same league as Bonham OR Ward! Just my opinion...
jashley4 carmine did it first but not best

Paul Gattuso his health prevented it, from what I understand. Those drum parts were not made for a 65 year old to tour and play several shows a week.
