Wow! Seriously large set up and I loved your fantasy world, great to see. Regarding missile troops supporting in combat: (1) No-one can shoot into a Combat - this is on page 43 of the rules, Shooting Restrictions (2) Supporting Units can shoot and support. The support represents the presence of friends giving stability to the Units fighting in front. Glad you enjoyed it! Cheers.
Fantastic looking battle, miniatures and campaign build up! I am busy painting some Beastmen to have a battle against Orcs next week. Have played one game of Dwarves against Orcs. Ended up a win for the short guys who threw all their heavy infantry down one flank and obliterated the detachment facing them before the Orc centre could get engaged. Just got to the first combat - the berserkers were led by their commander. They took 2 hits though no stamina but did you roll for commander danger - food for crows?
I tried Skirmishers in my first battle a week ago. While not super powerful you can pass through the line, shoot and pass back. They can also move in any direction 1 spear throw. Just have a look into them before your next play. I just gave some highlights, check the details. As for my figs, I kept them single based and use trays.
Although slightly disappointed that the Orcs seemed almost absent from the fight and apparent opportunities to put in more flank attacks were not taken it was nevertheless a superb and engrossing battle
Thanks Dom! I appreciate that. I am finishing up a group of 30 goblins and then I am going to take another shot at it. It's going to take a few games to get myself comfortable. Have a fantastic weekend my friend 👍
Great battle report Steve - really liked the pushing of units across the battlefield - it does seem like an interesting rule system - I am looking forward to seeing you add in those further elements and units as the campaign continues. Are you considering in the campaign to introducing combat across other fronts on the map instead of all in one region - that might change the dynamics between the two empires. Glad you are starting to feel better - those draining viruses are the worst. Take care mate
I definitely need to expand on the campaign thing. I fought a couple of battles up north early last year, but I definitely need to do more! I highly recommend the system. I am looking forward to getting better with it. Have a good one my friend 👍
Hi, a unit which suffered at least a single hit from a missile fire must pass a moral check. If it fails it it must fall back. I guess this is the meaning of missile fire in this game%
So it is always worth rolling even if you have fewer dice than your target's armour. You wont cause a stamina point loss from the fire. You might get them to withdraw a half ST. If they back into friends then both units roll another command test. (P46, using the excellent index 😃)
A couple of different manufacturers. Some are Perry miniatures, some are Fireforge miniatures, some are Oathmark miniatures and others are 3D prints I found on Etsy
I must confess that I was really, really missing seeing a medieval battle report on your channel.

Cool, I definitely want to try out skirmishers. I plan on incorporating more terrain into my next battle. I hope you are ready for the snow tomorrow!

I totally dropped the ball with the orcs! Never fear, they will be back with a vengeance and with greater numbers in the near future!
@@basement1908 Sing along time, "Whats that coming over the hill is it a Monster" ? NO ! it's worse than that, it's the Orc nation 😅
Lovely stuff mate, really enjoyed that, I hope you are on the mend 👍
Thanks Martin. Thanks for popping in. I'm feeling much better. Thank you for asking. Have a fantastic weekend 👍
Nicely done my friend. Sorry you haven’t been feeling so good. I need to give these rules another go soon

Just started watching this… so strange as I lived in a town called Sudbury a few years ago 😂 great start to 2025 mate!! Take care
Sudbury is just up the hill from where I used to live. Nothing special up there to see though.
Lol.
@ which Sudbury? I’m in England, the one I was in is in Suffolk? Very quiet little town
@@lukefarrell6769 - Well, strictly it’s Sudbury Hill. Near Harrow in west London.
Sounds even better as a medieval battle site than plain ‘Sudbury’.
@ ahhh I was Sudbury, near Bury St Edmonds…
That's awesome! Thanks for commenting Luke! I always appreciate hearing from you! Have fun my friend!
If a unit takes a hit in shooting they have to take a command test.
I appreciate the help, my friend!

So where do you get all those minitures? Like those foot knights look great.

Hold on a second Basement, are you multibasing models? What happened to the thousands of individally based mooks? :D . I joke. Great battle as always.
Hehe! I multi based them for your and my sanity! A fantastic suggestion my friend! I hope all is well with you. Have a wonderful weekend 👍
