Steve - I followed these instructions and resurrected a Troy-Bilt mower with a Briggs & Stratton engine that had been sitting in mothballs for 18 years. I am not exaggerating, 18 years. Thanks for the help!
I'm learning so I can save the little money I have too, plus it's really cool and empowering learning to fix things guys stereotypically only know how to do. 😀
THANK YOU! I'm a young widow with 4 kiddos and the shop said it would cost me $150-240 to clean my push mower's carb. I thought I can buy a brand new one for that! so I paid the fee for them to figure out what was wrong with it and left. Thanks to you I'm going to clean the carb again. I tried it before but the video I watched wasn't as in-depth as this one. Thank you! The tips like the welding tip cleaner and the chainsaw file are AWESOME! My husband had all that stuff and now I can save some money, continue encouraging the kids to diy and I feel like I'm making my hubby proud while empowering myself.

5 years later, You da Man!!!!!!!! I gotta Troy Built TBWC-28, 223cc B&S, with a carb issue. Bought a new carb, because they're cheap, I'll clean the old one, like you showed, and keep it as a spare. Very nice tutorial!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Steve so much for your extremely educational videos. I have watched so many of your videos and have have saved so much money and impressed my wife, too by using your techniques and skills . I have been able to help some of my neighbors and some elderly church members. I feel so good about fixing the lawnmowers I have found for free and able to bring them back to life. Thank you again for making me feel worthwhile again. I truly found a new hobby I didn’t even know I could do and love doing it!
My lawnmower has been faithful to me for 13 years, never failed until this year. Problem along with non-venting cap was the main jet that I thought was just a cap-screw. You are amazing! Thank you so much!!
What a help you've been man. My power went out and I was trying to bring my Briggs and Stratton back to life. It kept leaking fuel even after I replaced the seat and needle. Come to find out the main jet was the culprit now it don't leak. I didn't know that a clogged main jet can cause fuel to leak. Now I know more about it.
THANK YOU for this video. I had a Craftsman self-propelled mower with a BS engine that sat with fuel in it for 15yrs. I put fresh fuel in it and it poured right out the air filter. I watched another video and based on that video replaced the float, O-rings, and air filter and cleaned the needle and other holes but it still would not start. Then I found your video and the minute you started talking about the screw which is actually the main jet I knew that was it. Mine was so clogged that I did not know it was supposed to have holes in it. After cleaning out the holes with wire, it starts like the day I got it.
I've found myself turning to this channel more and more. I've really learned a lot from your videos. I even been watching videos that have nothing to do with what I'm doing, just enjoy learning. You are a great teacher! Thank you for taking the time to make educational videos like this, it's much appreciated!!!
OMG, how many years have I been waiting for this vid? My Sears Craftsman 6.75hp lawnmower has been sitting for 8 years and that dumb little bolt jet at the bottom was the only reason it wouldnt stay running. started fine. Thank you Steve
Thanks! The "9 out of 10"-comment did the trick. Had no idea that the "main injection nozzle" was more than a screw. Missed it completely - and it was blocked.
Steve, I have a Briggs Stratton 6.5 hp engine on my pressure washer. I do all the right maintenance at beginning and end of each season but this year I couldn't get it to start. So I turned in to your video, bought some carb cleaner and followed your instructions. Runs great again. Thanks again for taking the time to show us all how. This was like the 10th video I watched trying to figure out why my estate-sale Craftsman snowblower wouldn’t run. The KEY was the brass bolt at the bottom not just being a nut, but the valve itself! Thank you! I cleaned that out, put it all back together and it ran right away like a top. It’s almost 1am and I can go to sleep a winner! Lol
@@StevesSmallEngineSaloon Snowblowed at lunch today, started first pull but didn't want to run without being in the fully-choked or one notch open from choked position. Not real adjustments on this other than the throttle bottom-out screw, which at fully-stopped has the throttle jussst open a bit. Should I play with that to see if I can get it to run smoother at no choke?
All I have to say is this is now my go-to channel for all things lawnmower related. It's so nice to find someone who explains things so thoroughly (and easily may I add). Super easy to follow, and going to test this out this weekend on our lawnmower in hopes that fixes it!
I watched your video, took it apart, cleaned it and put it back together; runs great. You saved me about $350 because my wife wanted me to just buy a new lawnmower. Thank you!!!
Sir, I'm a lifetime teetotaller, so we'll never share a beer together, but if you're ever in Eastern Ontario Canada I owe you a steak for the time and money you just saved me. I have a tandem load of logs out there to be split and my splitter wouldn't start. Was sitting for a few years. Dirty carb. It was a little different carb than you show here, but using your principles and a little perseverance, I got it going. Thanks, buddy! I sure appreciate it!
I’m not sure how many people you have that finds your channel and ends up watching every single video you’ve posted, but I just got added to that list. Subscribed. Thanks for your knowledge.
Glad I found this. I'm right in the middle of cleaning the carb and of course, I dropped the needle. The rebuild kit should have a new one. Great tips. Can't wait to finish. This is on a 12 year old Toro 7.5 hp mower that has never failed to start...but it just won't stay running. I got a new Toro, but I just could not bring myself to get rid of this one. If the carburetor cleaning and reinstall is successful, I may just donate the old mower to a church or someone that really needs one. Love the channel.
I love how you explain the steps, and then show an overhead closeup of you doing the step! You know how to teach each step, and that’s rare!!! I’m a new subscriber now! Thank you, Steve!
Thank You..!! Never knew the bolt holding the bowl on had another purpose..!! Worked for hours trying to get my generator working. !! I gave up..!! Watched your video & instantly knew it was the bolt because I didn't see any holes in it.. Just went back out & took the bolt out & found all 3 holes cleaned it thoroughly & instantly started..!!
Steve, you deserve a crown. I hope your wife appreciates that you are one fellow who knows how to do these things! This is getting to be a rare talent these days. Thank you Steve. i plan to tackle this job on two lawn mowers today.
Great video!! My son called from WI he was trying to fix his neighbors lawn mower,( 5 years dead,) so the guy would stop borrowing my son's mower. Son is not overly mechanical , so after trying to explain how to do a carb clean l sent him to this website, waited about 2 hours and called back. He enjoyed the lesson did exactly what Steve demoed and it ran!!!
Thank you Steve, just saved me lots of money by repairing my snowblower without sending to the repair shop!! I liked how you took close up pics of each stage in the cleaning to make it easy to follow. Keep it up.
Hi Steve, Just wanted to drop you a line and say thanks again for your videos.I have a Toro 30" walk behind mower with a briggs engine. It has worked good for a long time. I just finished cutting grass and took a break, mower was working good. After break, started the engine, engaged the blades and it died. Started it again started and shut off right away. Remembered this video and comment about why engines sugre. I removed the fuel bowl and cleaned the jet, ran carb cleaner thru it, bowel was clean. Put it back on and it started right up, problem fixed. Thanks again Steve.
Hi Steve, I just cleaned my first carburetor on an old Briggs installed on an old cub cadet lawn mower. It had a surging problem and didn't start good at times, followed your instructions and cleaned it, now it works great. Thanks for the video that you put on here, they are very helpful.
Steve I have used torch tip cleaners for years. Another great idea I use is those little wire brushes for cleaning between your teeth. They are little conical shaped brushes and they come in different sizes. I love all the precious knowledge you share with us. GOD bless you brother and cover you with his eternal love in the name of Jesus. Thank you Father!
That was one of the best videos on how to take apart and clean the carburetor well explained well demonstrated thank you very much for taking the time to make that video
Thanks for posting.. saved me a trip to the small engine guy at $85 an hour to work in my log splitter. Main jet clogged you saved me time and money.. thank you.
Thank you for this video. I tinkered with my Briggs and Straton pressure washer for a few hours and couldn't get it to work. Watched your video and you were right. My nozzle was partially clogged. I was one of the "9 out of 10 times". Woohoo! Now my pressure washer is running like champ. Thanks again!
Steve, I used to watch Law and Order, now I binge-watch your channel! Repairing stuff when possible is far superior to throwing them away,,,and very satisfying. Thank you.
Thank you. Thank you. I had a $1000 wood chipper with 5.5HP Briggs and Stratton engine that stopped working after just one year. After seeing your video I decided to take the carburetor apart and clean every part of it. After putting it together it started on the first try !
I always appreciate your video's, Steve. After watching this one, I pulled and cleaned a needle valve on a 6 month old mower. It didn't stop the gas from flowing out the intake, but removing all the fuel from its oil sump did! [Then I learned my son-in-law filled both the tank and the oil with fuel.]
Hey Steve , your the Man ! Have never been confidant with carbie & fuel repairs but watched your video and followed it step by step, cleaned and reassembled mower and it started first pull and ran beautiful, now I have the confidence to fix 3 or 4 others I have. 👍 🇭🇲
This helped me. I had the brass jet apart 2 times, cleaning it out. I got it running a little bit, for 20 seconds at a time. Then you explained how to clean out the little jet center hole with a bread wrapper wire. So I took my jet out again. Holy crap, that thing was full of hard black junk. After reaming it with the bread wrapper wire and blowing it out, reinstalled the jet. Now I'm using my push mower again for the first time in 2 years. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video, so helpful! I tore apart a carb on a pressure washer that hadnt started in 18 years! I was about to give up when I found this video, didnt know the bowl plug was a jet. Start first pull every time now.
You saved my life. I took the carb bowl off (done this before) but the pin and plastic insert fell out and I had no idea how to put it back together. Your video showed me exactly how to do it and it worked. Thanks.
Steve you do an excellent job in explaining how these machines work. A big fan of your channel. Keep up the good work and thanks for helping some of us guys that like to work on our lawn mowers.
Hey Steve i was coming home from work a few days ago drove by and illegal dump site someone discarded a push trimmer mower Craftsman to boot with a Briggs & Stratton carburetor / motor . Remember this video of your superb instructions of how to clean a carburetor. I did so following your steps and got some of them fancy gadgets to clean it out . Carburetor cleaner wire brush , Safety pin , twist wire etc etc . Very useful in this sort of operation . Cleaned it out and slept it all back together poured some fuel and some fuel stabilizer gave it a full and Wow wouldn't you know it worked turned on. Made me a very happy camper. thank you very much for your informative instructional videos they helped a lot. God bless salute 🍺
dude that trick with the little Carburetor bold with the twist tie just saved me from shoving or finding someone to fix my snowblower, unreal that little part is what gave me a headache about why she was spitting and sputtering and not starting, unreal, thank you thats all I can say!
Thank You, You saved my engine, so my machine was running very bad and slow, but after cleaning the carburetor, the machine runs perfectly. Thank You again. Best regards from Luxembourg
Really appreciate the clear and careful step by step instruction. One suggestion would potentially be to zoom in during the reassembly, I was straining a little bit to make sure I was following all the instructions and obviously you put it back together the way you take it apart so no worries there but overall I really really like the video thanks.
Great video! After using an entire can of carb cleaner with no success, I watched this, went out and got the welding tip cleaning tool you suggested, cleared plugged main jet, and my snowblower fired right up. Thanks!
I have watched numerous B&S carb cleaning videos - Yours is the best !!! I bought the spray cleaner, I bought the carb wires and brushes (only $7 on Amazon), and I will tackle mine this weekend. You're a pleasure to watch for sure !!!!!!! THANKS my man !!!
I hadn’t been able to get my pressure washer running for over a year. I had the carburetor off last year and cleaned all I could but I didn’t realize the bottom bolt was the main jet so I didn’t clean it. I took it off today and cleaned it all including the main jet. Took fuel tank and lines off and blew them out. Put everything back together and started on 5th pull. Thanks Steve.
So clearly explained and shown step-by-step. You give me the confidence I need to work on my yard equipment. You have already saved me time and money. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Ken
Wow! In less than 15 minutes I learned more than a few hours on the 'net trying to figure out why my generator is spewing gas! Thank you so very much! You've got me going in the right direction,
My lawnmower kept giving me problems and I couldn't figure out why even after I removed the carb and cleaned it. I never realized that the bolt holding the fuel bowl contained a main jet. I suspect that is my problem and will clean it this weekend. Thanks for taking the time to make this great video.
Steverino, thanks my friend. I'm getting ready to do my carburetor. Went out and bought a kit ,some carburetor cleaner, some little bitty brushes, the whole works . It's been soaking for days and I'm ready to reassemble the little feller. Thanks a lot for this video. It's going to help a lot. Kudos to you. Thank again my friend. Thanks a lot.
Thank you! My husband and father have been tinkering with the carburetor on our wood chipper for a few days. So today, I googled how to clean the carburetor and found your video. 3:30 into video showed what our problem was! That little bolt at the bottom of the fuel well was super clogged. Easy as pie! Actually, making pie is kinda hard. This was as easy as buying a pie. Thanks!
Yes, and the guitar string doesn't deform like the soft wire of a twist tie does when you have to poke it down blind passageways, like in some Honda Carburetors.
I was in a bind and pulled the seat out and ripped it a bit. Flipped it the other way and working like a champ for now. I want to thank you for all the tips, tricks and repair. You have made the repairs easy.
insane. i saw the carb bowl nut had a hole on it but i didn't even look at it, assuming it was a drain hole to loosen it and let it drain out the side hole or something. So i came here to look at videos on how this carb works and what tools are needed to get the jet out- cause i just took the bowl off while still on the engine and couldn't see well. Glad to see you mention that
Thanks Steve. I was unaware of the main jet being built into the bowl retaining bolt. I am about to rebuild my B&S carb and am glad I found your video before doing that today. .
My mower has a Briggs and Stratton carb and has been going well for 25 years . I just studied this video for learning purposes . Really impressed by the methodical manner that everything was explained . Steves Small Engines has impressed again . Thanks you kindly . From N Ireland .
Heck ya Steve!! I owe you a case o Beer. Love your videos. I watched until you took the jet out of the bottom of the bowl. Did the same and now my mowers ru ming like new!!! You Rock!!
Once again you saved me hours of agony! I discovered your channel a couple of years ago, and frequently watch your videos while on the treadmill in the morning just to expand my DIY knowledge based while being entertained by your great personality!
Back again from Ireland . Steve has done the business again .Just cleaned the carb as per your instructions and bingo the mower ran first pull . Many Thanks
Thank you for this video. I like your style of teaching. I was able to get my pressure washer running again. Honestly, the biggest challenge for me was getting the dang thing off the engine. I've had bad luck in the past disassembling things. Too many parts left over so this time, I was very careful, took lots of pictures and wrote down my removal steps. That made it easier to reassemble and make sure I didn't leave anything off. Again. Thanks so much
Thank you for explaining that the bolt in the bulb is the main jet and clogs. I used you wire tie trick to clear the jet and carburetor cleaner to flush out the holes. Now my power washer is working with full power and no surging issues. This is why I subscribe to your channel.
I just repaired a like new mower that was donated to our club. Would not start when warm with the choke wide open. Would start with starting fluid or choking it manually. Watched this video a few times Turned out the brass insert in the carb body was plugged with white gunk. The bowl was clean and the main jet was fairly clean. Starts now with one pull, hot or cold. Thanks, Steve!
If you know someone who plays guitar, ask them for an old "B" string that they might have after changing strings. It's the perfect size for cleaning carbs!
Thanks to the power of UA-cam. I was watching your video because I thought my pressure washer engine was going to need a full carb cleaning. Then the first thing you mentioned about the main jet bolt in the bottom of the cup sounded like it could be my exact problem. The engine would run for 1-2 seconds and then cut off. So it wanted to run, but was acting like it would get no fuel. Let it rest 30 seconds and it would crank again for 1-2 seconds. Since that bolt is at the lowest point and the natural place for sediment to collect, it explained my problem. I didn't even have to take the carb off to check it. And boy was it clogged. A good cleaning and put back in and the engine cranked and ran with no problem. Thanks a bunch.
Know that's right bro, cold beer at the end when the job is finished!! Love the review my friend and straight to the point and well said and explained!! Love it!!
This was the fix! My lawn mower was running so poorly that I flipped out and smashed it with a hammer. After finding your video I now have the perfect beer to drink while I shop for a new mower. Thanks Steve!
Thanks, Steve. Great video with clear instructions and good images. I have both a lawn mower and a snow blower and have eliminated things like spark plug or air filter...so, carburetor it may be. Will post back if it works. My only concern is skin contact with carb cleaners, so that part I will avoid.
Thanks Steve. For me, fixing my own is more than saving money. I'm one that has to understand his machines. Your explanations are invaluable to me when I get into one of my babies. If Im ever in your neck of the woods I'll drop by and bring you a beer.
I also like steel wool for heavily soiled carb bowls. Couple other things to add. Wear safety glasses around carb cleaner and use outdoors. Stuff wreaks. Don't use any object larger than the hole for cleaning you don't want to enlarge them. Especially on the main jet. Also, inspect the tip of the needle for a groove it indicates if it needs to be replaced. One other thing. I dont like to get carb cleaner on the rubber gaskets, especially on older ones. Seems to dry them out and they'll fail. Remove before cleaning, carefully with a razor blade
I've been a "shade tree" mechanic for 65 years and in that time I've done it all on cars and small engines. I enjoy your videos and still learn a thing or two in the process.
Just discovered your channel. Nice videos bud! Suggestion: Maybe include some actual dirty carbs or whatever it is that needs to be cleaned or worked on rather than a 'prop' carb that's already in perfect condition. It would be cool to see you work your magic in real life!

Thank you Steve, just saved me lots of money by repairing my snowblower without sending to the repair shop!! I liked how you took close up pics of each stage in the cleaning to make it easy to follow. Keep it up.
You're Welcome...
You're Welcome...
Hi Steve, I just cleaned my first carburetor on an old Briggs installed on an old cub cadet lawn mower. It had a surging problem and didn't start good at times, followed your instructions and cleaned it, now it works great. Thanks for the video that you put on here, they are very helpful.
You're Welcome...
I never get tired of watching your vids. I can practically fix almost anything. You have been a great teacher . Cheers to you my awesome friend
That's awesome!
Wire brushes for Ur teeth. U must have some powerful choppers 😜 😂
Sorry Daniel I meant to say thanks for the tip about brushes. Great idea
Yep, cleaned the main jet with a twist tie wire and *PRESTO*. Thanks again Steve for another priceless pro-tip!
That was one of the best videos on how to take apart and clean the carburetor well explained well demonstrated thank you very much for taking the time to make that video
You are very welcome
Thanks for posting.. saved me a trip to the small engine guy at $85 an hour to work in my log splitter. Main jet clogged you saved me time and money.. thank you.
I'm glad I could help you save some time and money! Happy to be of assistance.
You're Welcome...
I am impressed, he really knows what he is talking about. I'm a retired mechanic and it takes a lot to impress me.
I am honored Sir!
Steve, I used to watch Law and Order, now I binge-watch your channel! Repairing stuff when possible is far superior to throwing them away,,,and very satisfying. Thank you.
Right on Buddy...
Thank you. Thank you. I had a $1000 wood chipper with 5.5HP Briggs and Stratton engine that stopped working after just one year. After seeing your video I decided to take the carburetor apart and clean every part of it. After putting it together it started on the first try !
Nice work!
Thank you! You saved me from spending $50-100 for a new carburetor and several hundred for a new mower. 100% fixed the problem. You rock!
Fantastic!
Hey Steve , your the Man !
Have never been confidant with carbie & fuel repairs but watched your video and followed it step by step, cleaned and reassembled mower and it started first pull and ran beautiful, now I have the confidence to fix 3 or 4 others I have. 👍 🇭🇲
Awesome! Thank You...
Thanks!
Right on Buddy! You're Welcome...
Thanks for making this video, so helpful! I tore apart a carb on a pressure washer that hadnt started in 18 years! I was about to give up when I found this video, didnt know the bowl plug was a jet. Start first pull every time now.
Great job!
You saved my life. I took the carb bowl off (done this before) but the pin and plastic insert fell out and I had no idea how to put it back together. Your video showed me exactly how to do it and it worked. Thanks.
Excellent!
Steve you do an excellent job in explaining how these machines work. A big fan of your channel. Keep up the good work and thanks for helping some of us guys that like to work on our lawn mowers.
Thanks, will do!
Right on
Thanks Steve! Guys like you sure make life a lot more fun and less stressful! My mower now works like a charm.
Right on....
dude that trick with the little Carburetor bold with the twist tie just saved me from shoving or finding someone to fix my snowblower, unreal that little part is what gave me a headache about why she was spitting and sputtering and not starting, unreal, thank you thats all I can say!
You're Welcome...
You’re way ahead, how do I even remove the darn thing😅
😆 hell I'm a plumber and I did it,😆 good luck man
Remove two 10mm bolts, remove two cables one micro small and the other larger.. Remove fuel line clamp off with vice grips.
Tern your fuil off take the bolts off undo the fuil pipe and it's off I'm 12 and know that
Take a picture and get after it 😊
You remind me a retired hockey player...your accent and voice.....thanks a million
Thank You, You saved my engine, so my machine was running very bad and slow, but after cleaning the carburetor, the machine runs perfectly. Thank You again. Best regards from Luxembourg
You're Welcome...
Really appreciate the clear and careful step by step instruction.
One suggestion would potentially be to zoom in during the reassembly, I was straining a little bit to make sure I was following all the instructions and obviously you put it back together the way you take it apart so no worries there but overall I really really like the video thanks.
Freaking awesome lesson on carburetor cleaning! This has been one area that has been a no-go zone for me. Now I know how to take care of it.
Thank You...
I used the air compressor trck to remove small gasket. Worked fantastic. 5 hp B&S mower runs like a champ. Now the 8 ph B&S. Thanks for the video.
Great video! After using an entire can of carb cleaner with no success, I watched this, went out and got the welding tip cleaning tool you suggested, cleared plugged main jet, and my snowblower fired right up. Thanks!
Right on buddy...
Great to hear!
You're Welcome...
This here is pure gold with the tips on what you can use to clean out the holes on your carburetor!
Glad you liked it!
So clearly explained and shown step-by-step. You give me the confidence I need to work on my yard equipment. You have already saved me time and money. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Ken
You're Welcome...
Wow! In less than 15 minutes I learned more than a few hours on the 'net trying to figure out why my generator is spewing gas! Thank you so very much! You've got me going in the right direction,
You're Welcome...
Great tips had cleaned it twice but missed the main jet, thought it was a drain hole for the bowl, thanks a bunch for the lesson.
You're welcome!
My lawnmower kept giving me problems and I couldn't figure out why even after I removed the carb and cleaned it. I never realized that the bolt holding the fuel bowl contained a main jet. I suspect that is my problem and will clean it this weekend. Thanks for taking the time to make this great video.
You're Welcome...
I have just followed your instructions - so happy to see engine revving perfectly, thanks a ton
You're welcome!
Good luck!
This video is detailed and specific. Thank you for not assuming I know x, y and z already.
You're Welcome...
Thanks!
Glad I could help!
Steel guitar strings work fine as well. High E is .010" Lower E is .046"
Yes, and the guitar string doesn't deform like the soft wire of a twist tie does when you have to poke it down blind passageways, like in some Honda Carburetors.
Yep
That’s regular Slinky. I use Power Slinky, 11-48!
I was in a bind and pulled the seat out and ripped it a bit. Flipped it the other way and working like a champ for now. I want to thank you for all the tips, tricks and repair. You have made the repairs easy.
Nice work!
Thank you so much. Had no idea what I was doing but you walked me through it to a T. Fired right up. Great job. Thanks again.
Excellent!
insane. i saw the carb bowl nut had a hole on it but i didn't even look at it, assuming it was a drain hole to loosen it and let it drain out the side hole or something.
So i came here to look at videos on how this carb works and what tools are needed to get the jet out- cause i just took the bowl off while still on the engine and couldn't see well. Glad to see you mention that
Glad it helped
Thanks Steve. I was unaware of the main jet being built into the bowl retaining bolt.
I am about to rebuild my B&S carb and am glad I found your video before doing that today. .
You're Welcome...
My mower has a Briggs and Stratton carb and has been going well for 25 years . I just studied this video for learning purposes . Really impressed by the methodical manner that everything was explained . Steves Small Engines has impressed again . Thanks you kindly . From N Ireland .
Great to hear!
Heck ya Steve!! I owe you a case o Beer. Love your videos. I watched until you took the jet out of the bottom of the bowl. Did the same and now my mowers ru ming like new!!! You Rock!!
Thank You...
Once again you saved me hours of agony! I discovered your channel a couple of years ago, and frequently watch your videos while on the treadmill in the morning just to expand my DIY knowledge based while being entertained by your great personality!
Thank You...
Your video is BY FAR the best! You know how to explain and WHAT to explain. A+A+A+A+A+A+A+A+
Thank You...
Back again from Ireland . Steve has done the business again .Just cleaned the carb as per your instructions and bingo the mower ran first pull . Many Thanks
You're Welcome...
Thankyou Steve, being a single female with only 2 male cats as advisers your videos have helped me learn so much. Cheers Maria
Fantastic!
Purrrrrfect!
Again. Thanks so much
You're Welcome...
Bro- Great vid. The plunger/jet on the bottom of my carb saved me a lot of work of totally pulling off the carb. Great, time saving tip to try first.
Thank you for explaining that the bolt in the bulb is the main jet and clogs. I used you wire tie trick to clear the jet and carburetor cleaner to flush out the holes. Now my power washer is working with full power and no surging issues. This is why I subscribe to your channel.
Nice work!
Helped me repair my Husqvarna mower. Many thanks!
You're Welcome...
I just repaired a like new mower that was donated to our club. Would not start when warm with the choke wide open. Would start with starting fluid or choking it manually. Watched this video a few times
Turned out the brass insert in the carb body was plugged with white gunk. The bowl was clean and the main jet was fairly clean.
Starts now with one pull, hot or cold. Thanks, Steve!
You're Welcome...
If you know someone who plays guitar, ask them for an old "B" string that they might have after changing strings. It's the perfect size for cleaning carbs!
I've been useing the smallest E string since 1978, works great for 4wheelers n Harleys, small primary jet
The tips on where to source wires for cleaning (twist tie, wire brush) are invaluable!
Thank You...
The spring out of an old ink pin is the best thing I’ve found to clean those passages with
I feel this comment needs WAAAAY more likes and acknowledgment than you got. Hope this helps.
Thanks Steve.
Your lesson worked like a champ on my no-start snowblower! Saved me over $200.00 on a service call
Glad it helped
Thank you Steve.. I know I will be into the carb this year and this will help me a lot.. keep up the good content..
You're Welcome...
You're Welcome...
Thanks a million. Great video on the carburetor, I was able to repair mines. Blessings
You're Welcome...
Thanks Steve just cleaned my billygoat carb and its golden
You removed the fear and made it doable and that is worth much more than the money saved. Great job, easy to understand. Thank you so much
Glad it helped
Know that's right bro, cold beer at the end when the job is finished!!
Love the review my friend and straight to the point and well said and explained!! Love it!!
Thank You...
Right on...
Thanks Steve. For me, fixing my own is more than saving money. I'm one that has to understand his machines. Your explanations are invaluable to me when I get into one of my babies. If Im ever in your neck of the woods I'll drop by and bring you a beer.
You're Welcome...
Right on
Just discovered your channel. Nice videos bud! Suggestion: Maybe include some actual dirty carbs or whatever it is that needs to be cleaned or worked on rather than a 'prop' carb that's already in perfect condition. It would be cool to see you work your magic in real life!
Thank You...
Just discovered - please watch a while before suggesting changes that will improve the show.
I swear watching your videos has saved me so much money
Thank You...
helpfull vid. my Briggs and Stratton has a solid bolt that holds that bottom cup on. is there couple different carbs?
