I've been tinkering on mine and found that moving the shock mounts down to the frame (depending on which hole you go to) actually makes a huge difference for the better, but only when the higher centre of gravity is offset with added weight low down. The increased travel and articulation is super helpful on the slippery rocks here in Vancouver Canada, but I agree if you don't put weight down low it will flip too easy. I used lead rod from a fishing store and bent it to shape rather than spending money on lighter brass, it cost me about 30 cents and works a dream.
Moving the upper shock mounting location down to the frame rail gives you the most lift but pretty much kills the capability of the rig because it becomes too top heavy. Just one zip tie on the shock tube is more than enough lift to help with tire rubbing issues.
Thanks for the shoutout! I used shoe goo and my paint still did that so you may wanna use something else. I haven’t did my green one yet because of this. Haven’t had that problem on the deadbolt or Jeep but my C10 did the same.
2FM RC NO PROBLEM!! Before I even got my trucks out of the box I started cruising UA-cam for information and came across you channel! Your channel really opened my eyes to see the true potential of these trucks. You put out great content and extremely informational!! Keep up the good work!!! You Alway got something wild and crazy up your sleeve!!!
RC OFF ROAD I appreciate that! I’m definitely always trying something new. At least new for me lol. I have a couple good ones that should be coming soon hopefully!
@@RCOFFROAD yea, i am a 1/10 crawler and 1/1 (real life) crawler type of guy... but 2fm rc sold me on these little scx24 trucks. such good content and information on his channel! he also opened my eyes to the true potential of these trucks... Keep up the awesome, educational, and entertaining videos boys! thanks to the both of you!
lol the stock BFG Krawlers on the C-10 are by far & away better tire than the nitto grapples on the Deadbolt, ask about anyone!! better stickier rubber better smaller scale appearance & LCG & the obvious much better grip & traction... 👍🏼

Is the shock preload what makes them sit so high?

Zip tie preload = good or bad?
Zip tie work pretty well for the price. The heads on the bigger zip ties will rub on the tires sometimes. that’s the only downfall I have found.
