      I have to agree, Music can be a personal thing, Duty free music is usually bad or annoying, and I totally agree that hearing the Trucks working is just as important as watching them climb.

    Nice !! Great compariasion !! I found the tires to be a big upgrade, with the servo change to be the biggest differences. I have a HR / RC4WD modded Jeep ( Yellow ) and a stock C-10 ( Grey). Just putting the finishing touches on the first section of my indoor course. A lot of the upgrades are overpriced , but not many other options out there ( in Canada, anyway ). The difference, though, is noticeable , on my track, just like yours.My Jeep can not only do more, it looks better doing it ! I even cut out the body and added tiny 3D printed light buckets for my rear lights. Keep up the great videos !!

    soooo i just found your channel today... and it's probably the best almost dedicated 1/24 scale channel i've found so far.
    this was an awesome video!!! you do a really good job at testing, comparing and explaining.
    so the only thing I don't like about RC is the squealing these little bastards make, big and small.
    so to be honest... when wheeling a lil music in the background might be nice.
    but I also hate when ppl blast the music... or the volume cuts in and out when people narrate.
    so a really cool way of doing it, that would set you apart is to figure out a volume where it's just enough to drown out the squealing but not enough to drown you out when you talk or have the music haaaaaave to cut in and out.
    cuz your narration is good and helpful also!!

      Just picked up two yesterday, the C10 and the JLU. Out of the box, I think the JLU is just a bit more capable, mostly due to it's slightly taller tires and better approach angle.

    How many degrees is the incline going into the covered bridge? In the video it looks to be almost 90 degrees but I know that isn’t true. You have a really nice course. I’m building one for my C10 & Deadbot but am limited on room so mine is going to be 18”x96”. I liked the raw sound plus the commentary was awesome.
    I have the Emax servo in my C10 & can really tell the difference between it & my Deadbolt with the stock servo. The C10 just steers better all around. I’ve got wheel weights on the Deadbolt so I don’t know how long the stock servo is going to last. I put RC4WD steel wheels & Nitto tires on my C10 & just that made it a different truck.

    I realize this is about as subjective a question as can be, but ballpark average, how long a run time do you get with a stock truck and stock battery? Would you recommend getting a couple extra stock batteries to have more play time? Or would it be better to step up and get a better battery and a better charger to go with? Recommendations?
    Also, is it bad to just keep swapping batt's in one truck, one after the other? Will that burn up the motor/servo/ESC from working to long?
    Thanks very much!

    Just got my first SCX24 (and new to RC). Noticed a couple things and wondering if it’s normal. When parked and turning right, after letting off it centers back perfectly. But when turning left, it does not center back and stays a little biased to the left. Even after setting the trim. Second, after a couple minutes of playing around and crawling around my bed, when sitting it on a flat surface, it’s sagging a bit in the passenger rear wheel. I can lift the body and set it down gently to even it out, but as soon as I start driving, it’ll sag back down that part. Is this normal? If not, do you know a fix? Sorry for the wall of text and thank you for your time!

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  3 роки тому +1

      Awesome! Congrats on the scx24! So as far as the steering goes that’s kinda typical with the stock esc. It’s pretty weak honestly. I have a video on changing it when you feel it’s time (and you will soon) lol. Definitely check that out. As far as the sagging on the rear the stock shocks have zero tuning options so that’s pretty normal as well. One thing you can do is there is a tiny little black ring that the spring rest on. It’s at the top part of the Shock. Pull the spring down and slide that ring down a bit, then use a small zip tie around the shock above that ring to hold it down a bit. That helps stiffen the spring a bit and will sometimes help with the sag. Only other option is to purchase new shocks with some tuning options. You can also add a little bit of grease inside the Shock and it will sometimes help them a bit but gets kinda nasty as it leaks out honestly. Let me know if you need help with anything else and I really hope this helps a bit! Welcome to the addiction lol

    On Sunday I installed an upgraded servo in my Chevy C10 SCX24. It took me 10 times longer to install the EMAX ES08MAII Servo & tray then it should have. It was very difficult for me & several times I thought I couldn’t finish it. As it turns out, the servo is defective?!? When the installation was 99% completed, NO SCREW provided or on hand would thread into the servo to secure the arm.
    I’ve contacted AMAIN. It was difficult to even convey the issue at all.
    I asked if there was a “clamping” servo arm that would be the correct size & work w/ this servo & in this truck.
    I am not optimistic. Do you know of any?
    The arm used was “modified” from the 4 sided servo arm provided w/ the new servo.
    I once again apologize for these seemingly inane questions.
    I hope to hear back to you.
    Thanks,
    JoeM

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  3 роки тому +1

      Joseph Morelli wow! So that sucks! Haven’t had that happen. I don’t know of a clamping style arm off hand (haven’t needed one) I always use the one included as well. I did purchase an aluminum one that fit my Savox on my 4ws rig but it needed a different ball end to fit the links that I didn’t have so I never even used it. I’ll try to look around a bit and see what I can find. You could always put a dab of glue on it once you have it installed in the correct spot but I know that’s a bit permanent lol. Have they contacted you back about replacing the servo?

    • @josephmorelli3191
      @josephmorelli3191 3 роки тому +1

      2FM RC AMain has been responsive as they always are. I was told “the manufacturer doesn’t always supply that particular screw...”??? I just now ordered what was suggested. It was also recommended to install an aluminum arm. I’ve searched & searched & to be honest unless it outright said the arm would work w/ this servo & in this truck, I wouldn’t know what a correct arm would be! I only found out today the T# referred to the amount of teeth on the servo! I thought perhaps it was referring to the length?
      While I realize the T# is obviously very important, NO ONE has been able to tell me what that # is for this servo.
      If you come across anything that might help me, I appreciate it.
      You’ve been wonderful getting back to me.

      2FM RC AMain has always been wonderful to me. One is on the way. I am not thrilled to have to go at it over again, but hopefully I learned from all my mistakes.
      I still would like to find out the “details” needed to match a servo arm w/ a servo & vehicle. Right now it’s a mystery to me.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  3 роки тому +1

      Joseph Morelli you really just gotta count the teeth on the servo for the arm. Most servos tell how many teeth they are. I believe the emax is 15. If that’s the case you may be able to use one of the clamping style arms from amazon. The only problem I had was the screw hole where the ball stud mounts in the arm was bigger than the stock one. So I couldn’t mount my steering link to the arm if that makes sense?

    • @josephmorelli3191
      @josephmorelli3191 3 роки тому +1

      Is my interpretation of the “T#” correct? Is that the # of teeth on the servo gear? I see T#’s stamped on many of the servos arms. There isn’t a T# on the servo arms that come w/ this EMAX.

  • @secret5.
    @secret5. 3 роки тому +1

    I love how you mod these. One question though, why do you put the shocks at that angle? You're limiting their travel because of the geometry of the links. Best solution would be to mount them as high as possible straight over the axle.

    • @2fmrc
      @2fmrc  3 роки тому +1

      Not sure why it works but I’ve tried several different setups and I just prefer them at an angle honestly. Nothing worked as well on my indoor course for me but a lot of it depends on what you’re running on and truck setup I think. It also helps bring the belly of my trucks up a bit which sounds completely crazy but for my course that has lots of sharp crest on it that just seems to work better than a belly dragger.

    • @secret5.

      @@2fmrc Ideally, just going from an engineering standpoint you'd want the shocks mounted high, and then get springs with a stiffness that sets them at the desired height. I've been trying to find that out as well, seems fairly simple to wire up but im still new to the hobby and don't want to start wiring things up together without truly knowing.

      Actually, just found a comment from 3 months ago. This is the link to the electronic switch he has installed in order to be able to use the transmitter to turn the lights on and off. Cheers! www.amazon.com/dp/B07BKSGW3D?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

    So, how much $ exactly did all the mods costed you?

      Figu Wolf probably around $150-175 total with servo,servo plate,wheels & tires,shocks,steering links,brass front diff cover,brass hex,barrage motor, switch for lights and brass to make my links. Not cheap but well worth it to me! I can’t leave anything stock lol

      2FM RC yes, I’m having a 1:10 scale trx4, however during the cold season I would like to play inside with something smaller, cannot decide between the scx24 and kyosho mini-z toyota...

      Figu Wolf there is actually a new kyosho mini z coming in October! It’s the same platform but is a Jeep body. I plan to get one of them and compare to the scx24. I don’t think they are quite as capable from what I’ve seen but the detail on the body is amazing. The kyosho also runs on aaa batteries and I’m not a fan of that. The last 1/24 I had that ran on aaa batteries I wasn’t happy with the power at all.

    What I like about the Axial SCX24 is I do not have to do any thing to them. No mods what so ever. Love it right out of the box and will not spend any time at all doing modifications. I have the SCX24 Dead Bolt, B17 Betty, Jeep CRC and the C10. No mods to any of these vehicles! I do not buy vehicles if they have to be modified for me to enjoy them. I also have a couple SCX10II with no mods at all. I am not picky about a toy truck as some people are. It is just a toy.

      Thank you for this comment. Waiting on my c10 arriving spent the last day looking at mods and upgrades. What you are saying is refreshing. Sometimes even looks like mods take the challenge out it
