I thought the same until I tried it myself with Bob’s Basic paint set. While not nearly as refined as his work I can see how a bit of practice will put me right in the ballpark. The liquid white really does some magic with blending that you’ll notice right away. There’s a lot that goes into prepping the canvas, getting the equipment, and getting the technique down but if you’re willing to take the time it’s just like Bob says. Anyone can do this.

Not often do you hear of a tv series that reaches season 31 and is still as good as when it first started
Not only that, but it was 31 seasons of Bob Ross painting mountains over a lake and some trees.
Why is this so calming?
His voice almost put me to sleep.
Because he is gentle natured i would assume and that coincides with his tone of voice. It's gentle, soothing, putting people at ease.

Uhm he's not dead. He lives in my phone, and so do all of you.
I think he is doing fine. When I saw the cosmic cliffs photos from the James Webb telescope, I imagined that was bobs work in the heavens.
Has nobody noticed that he intentionally messed up his water, showing us how not to mess it up, and it still comes out perfectly. He’s too good, but not in a bad way.
I love watchimg his progress over the years and the season's. He got better and better

This was too tense. Everytime I thought he ruined the painting by adding a random happy little paint blotch he kinda just swipes it a little and magically instantly turns into a highly detailed mountain or tree. I'm emotionally exhausted but so... At peace

I love the sounds of the brush on the canvas and mixing the colors on his ethil. I remember growing up and watching his show on PBS I think . Then you find out how many of the people I know who were watching as,well . Seems like everyone loved Bob and still loves Bob

I know I've said this a million times, but I'm just so glad that someone decided to share bob's episodes with us. By being a good painter, he actually was also unintentionally among the best ASMRists.
Donald Stinnett That "someone" is his company which still thrives to this day. They put together new episodes of the "Best of" every year for PBS stations and his art supplies are sold every day.
Bob's company isn't going anywhere. They even curated the new "Chill with Bob Ross" just last month for Netflix.

Bob Ross passed away 23 years ago today. Thank you Bob for bringing Joy, Love, Warmth, Comfort to so many peoples hearts. He was a master at his craft, and it's always a pleasure to watch a master in session. Between the tapping, scratching, low tones, and whispers, it creates an effect known as ASMR which creates a low level euphoria. That's why he always received letters of people saying it helped them to sleep, put them to sleep, or helped them relax. So it was a compliment. Some people now play Bob Ross episodes before bed for the ASMR alone. People even started buying brushes just to "Beat the devil out of it" to relieve stress, even if they had no intention to paint. He inspired so many to take a leap of faith and jump into painting, even those who thought they couldn't paint to save their lives. And no matter how many times "He beats the devil out of it" I still giggle every time just seeing how much joy he has doing it. And it was great seeing all the animals on the show. He definitely loved to help animals in need and get them strong and healthy, then release them in the wild. And Peapod was adorable. We miss you Bob, and Steve. Hope you're doing okay Steve and still painting. Your probably living a simple life off the grid, I respect that. Happy 4th! Love you Bob!
