Wow, I just saw at the very end at 25:11 that this series was dedicated to his wife who died. The original air date is 12/8/1992. I think his mom just died in early 1992, just two seasons ago I think. Also, he was diagnosed with cancer himself around the same time. He went through so many hard times around this time, yet he still remained happy and cheerful. This guy had some crazy psychological strength and mental fortitude. He was a saintly dude.

Yeah, well, I know I'm going out on a limb to say this, but I think reincarnation might be real, and if it is real, there's this painter named Kevin Hill on youtube and I think he might be the reincarnation of Bob Ross. I know that sounds crazy though, haha. It's just a theory.

Scroke I know... But he left a great deal of episodes for us to watch. I never tried to paint myself, I just enjoy watching him paint. He was talented and his heart was in the right place. You can tell he was doing that for the love of painting and to make people believing in themselves. It makes me sad that his friend told him to quit portraits (I can't remember if it's in this episode he said that) because on his side he's encouraging people, no matter what level they have, to enjoy painting. Everyone on TV now is there for success, fame and/or greed. He was there to transmit something beautiful.

It's so magical that we are able to see the legend in action so many years after he passed away... His videos are not just about painting but also about life. Should've been awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for brining peace to the so many anxious and troubled minds! ♥️

Fun fact, it’s actually a perm. After spending time in Vietnam, the perm allowed for far cheaper hair cuts. Soon it became an icon for the show, and despite Ross’s wishes to return to his natural hair, the producers made him keep the afro.

Watching these breaks my heart, one crack at a time. He was so cheerful, even through everything he went through. Diagnosed with cancer.. his wife dying.. his mother dying... he stayed so cheerful and lovely. The saddest part? He never got to see our world now. He never got to see the community of artists in which the world is now our canvas. He doesn’t get to see how much he’s impacted us. 💕

I cry every day when i watch these. i just think, "he's made so many people's day. he doesn't realize it, but he's made so many inspirations for early painters. He's always so happy, despite knowing he's battling Lymphoma for the rest of his life."

Every time he he hits the brush and smiles it gets me every time.
As somebody who has little talent for painting, I am legit amazed at the fact that Bob Ross can create decent paintings so fast and seemingly casually, talking non-stop at the same time. I watch him paint, and I say, "What is he DOING?!?" Then it all becomes clear a minute later.

Thank you God for bringing us Bob Ross! Who can possibly dislike Bob. He was a very talented and loving person who brought joy and continues to bring joy to so many. My grown 22 year old son loves watching him. To meet my macho, football loving, son you would never imagine how much he appreciates the calmness and relaxation that only Bob Ross brings.

I grew up in a very dysfunctional household which brought me anxiety as a child. Listening to Bob Ross & his calming voice, and looking at his artwork would bring me much peace. I'm so grateful for his program, and even more grateful it's on UA-cam.

I am watching this after having an incredible day, God has solved all but one of our problems in one day after us thinking that it was the end of the road for us and living a nightmare for the last 2-3 months. I am so grateful so I thought I would watch Bob and praise the Lord! Amen!🙏

No matter how many times I watch this man paint. It blows my dang mind EVERY single time. He's just an amazing painter. I wish I could even have half of his talent. Anything I'd paint would look like a 2 year old hit the canvas then dropped it down a well, it sat there for 23 years then someone finally found it and fished it out.

Bob was part of all of our childhoods (gen x and early millenial). Sitting at home sick from school, relaxing after price is right because you didnt like soap operas. You find a mini marathin of JOP in the newspaper TV guide and tune in to a sweet-talking man teaching us how to paint for the mere price of our attention. Drifting off to sleep as we relax and forget about strep throat...
"This is your world, and you can do any old thing here." Something about these words is very calming. Though he's gone, he still remains in his own words which reside in our hearts and memories. Such an inspiring Man.

Why does he make me feel content but sad at the same time. Maybe the thought of knowing there's no one else like him... Such a care free and kind man.
