Great review! DSPIAE make really good quality tools man, I've been so impressed with their gear thus far. I have both the old 2.0 and the new 3.0 nippers, and both have been fantastic. I'm also on my second pair of GodHands and tbh when both are new, I find the DSPIAE blade is at least 90% as sharp as the GH, but for some reason I get cleaner cuts (less whitening) more frequently on the DSPIAE nippers. The durability on the DSPIAE nippers is also better IMO. My first set of GH nippers lost it's "superior" sharpness after just a couple of MG kits, while my first set of DSPIAE nippers lasted multiple times that before showing any sign of wear. (Before anyone asks, yes I treat all my nippers with care and use them as shown in the instructions.) At the end of the day, with the lower durability and higher price of the GodHands, I rarely find myself reaching for them. DSPIAE have done it right in both of those departments, so I don't personally see myself buying GodHands again.
@@Zamm1n I'm wondering is okay to use single blade nippers for hash plastic and then have god hand cut the nubs? Becuase I saw some other guy use tamiya nippers to cut the runners and then have dspiae single blade cut the nub off.
@@buriburibub If you want sure. That's what I've always done, I have a pair of less expensive SMS cutters that I use to cut parts from the runner, then I use the more expensive single-blades to cut off the nubs. In theory this extends the life of the expensive pair.
@@Zamm1n Yea I think for itsagunpla he was doing tamiya for runners and god hand for clean up but now he got dspiae he is going to use that to replace tamiya for the runners and godhand for clean up? Is that going to hurting the dspiae?
after 5 years of using god hands (id estimate in the range of 7000 to 8000 parts cut out), one of the blades snapped, bear in mind they developed a chip in the blade about a year ago, and today that chip got worse and made it snap, rip. I think im gonna get these as a replacement, id like to move to sanding gate marks (with a gunprimer raser) than just snipping them off, so at half the price of god hands, i think theyll do the job.
That click is satisfying in the asmr sense, Im definitely a fidget clicker and prefer the 3.0 over the godhands. feels like im using an actual TOOL with each clip crafting my mobile suit.
I'm so late on this..."like death creeping up on you or your dreams dying in the middle of the night" I laughed out loud but you're oh so right (and yeah, I don't quite understand the asmr build stuff). I like your take on not shortening the godhand lifespan. Gonna get these based solely on this review and to save some mileage from my godhands
This was very well timed. Been watching for like a year and I'm finally getting in to gunpla myself and was looking for nippers. edit:late as all fuck to the giveaway, but I'll probably end up buying a pair lol
Got a pair last week. Had the 2.0 they where good. The 3.0 I put them right around god hands. Really they are that good. Buy these and kit you still come out cheaper then the god hands and get 95% of the same cut.
Quick question, I just got one but have two problems. The pin that prevents opening on the side just falls out, is this normal? Also the limit regularly isn’t adjustable at all, either with the include tool or an Alan wrench. Are these issues normal, or is mine maybe defective and I should seek a replacement? Thanks!
So, all the nippers I get have the back surface completely flush where-as these nippers are different in that you are nipping on the flat surface of the other blade. If you can't cut the way they specify, are they still better to use vs just blade on blade nippers?
The four places that, I buy paints from, Newtype,Sprue Brothers, SprayGunner, and GundamUSA store. If one doesn't have the color of paint that I'm looking for.The other will always have the missing color that I'm looking for.
Thanks for the review dude! I will probably get them sooner or later hahah I just recently got the carving handle (if that is how it is called) some flat edge push broaches in different sizes and waw! Scribing has never been so easy
I was just showing my uncle a product review of a Milwaukee angled hole driller. He works as a plumber and he told me that he often looks for video reviews by others before buying anything online. I’m even been looking into getting a resin 3-D printer and these kinds of reviews are the best way for me to get information. 🎩 🐍 no step oon SNEK!🇺🇸🇭🇰
I use the Tamiya Sharp Pointed Side Cutters and also the Tamiya Sharp Pointed Side Cutters Slim Jaw. I've thought about getting the GodHand Ultimate 5.0 cutters next time. I am planning to use the Tamiya cutters to bulk got, and then the GodHand to do precision cuts.
@xxnike629xx *LIES* . You still refuse to actually build a kit again so your cutters are still inside their package, and are probably, collecting dust inside your *BOX* fort as well You can prove me wrong them. How about pics or vids of your built kits after 2012? Such as for example, your MG Strike RMs posing side by side, each wearing different packs. Or a built kit of your MG Exia R2, which you wished for years. Pics or vids or they actually never happened 😇
lol dspiae is a fully chinese brand, they take great pride in their own products, and dspiae is amazing actually, but, when it comes to foreigh brands made by chinese is when their products drop in quality
I have one of the original models, ordered one of the new version 3.0 and I am VERY dissapominted, the tips of the new version are shorter than than the original and SO BIG that you can't introduce it in the sprue to cut small or narrow parts like the dents of track tank wheels. As a matter of fact I have return it. I can't understand to change things to worse.
Well crap...I just HAD to watch this video right before ordering the Tamiya. Its out of stock at newtype but I see someone on ebay selling for at cost basically but ship times insane. Oh well Im shooting for it. Funny thing is this is the location "Get it by Wed, Dec 2 - Mon, Dec 21 from NY, China"
I really love my godhands. These may be worth an investment. Thank you for sharing the information. My old cheapo nippers suck and my old GW nippers are only really used on metal anymore.
I've been using the same pair of God hand 5.0's for over 2 years as my 2nd cut set of nippers. They've never let me down and despite being over 50 kits in with them they're still better than most other sets brand new, I oil and anti rust them after every build. 50 kits is a lot, but I only paint my favourite kits, when you work 12hrs a day, have animals, 2 cars and a girl times precious. I've seen these a few times and people dont reccomend adjusting them because it's easy to fuck the blade, this is why God hands arent. Tbh I doubt I'll ever use another set of nippers unless godhand best the 5.0 ultimate.
Crap! Just discovered this channel. Been following Itsagundam reviews for a long time ripping up Brie Larson. Had no Idea you did Gunpla. Of course why not? Why wouldn't the guy with Gundam in his name be into Gunpla? Bajorans are basically Mormons. The shit I'm picking up on these days... I picked up a set of cheapo nippers on a road trip to do a kit to kill some time, and they creak when you squeeze them, the blades don't quite line up unless I torque them a bit, and there's a pop in the spring just before the nip happens. Hate em! Have a decent set at home, but they've been at quite a few PG/RG kits, and they're getting worn out. Fuck I want dem nippers! Almost 5K views now? Not a chance Dave.
Here's a better tip. Grab a $8 or $4.99 pair from hobby lobby and get building they work just as well as long as a brain is behind the tool. The whole let's spend 60 bux plus on mini cutters is completely crazy and not needed. You are fueling hobby ruining myths by telling people they should spend the price of a gunpla on a pair of over hyped tools that even a 4 dollar pair can achieve. I've built Gunpla and regular models with god hands and dollar store cutters and there's nothing the 50 dollar pair does the 1 dollar pair doesn't, and as long as it's plastic or resin they will last for years. Tip these can be re sharpened with a sharpening stone on a dremmel as needed but for the new people caution must be used as well as safety gear, gloves and glasses for sure. The cleanness of the cut isn't too big a deal if you leave enough to sand down, yes it takes a little effort and a few seconds of time but you'll have 2 models instead of one and an over priced tool.

Nice, I was planning on getting these. Glad to know they have PapaG's stamp of approval
I bought this and never regretted it. My 2nd nipper and it’s here to stay
Just picked these up because of your review, thank you very much.
Who would pay good money for a Gundam ASMR on building gunpla? You know who you are.
So glad you reviewed these. The brand I was using is nowhere to be found and the $35 pair of Godhand I got honestly suck.
3:00 -- Some sweet Vernier caliper action? Ah yeah.
The time has come
I've been wanting decent nippers but didn't want to shell out 60 bucks for Godhands, I'll be picking these up
Look into Valtcan nippers I have a 17$ and 40$ set and stand by them
@@freshoutafolsom20 I'll do that, thanks!

My Godhands just broke in the middle of a project so I'm gonna try these out.
My godhand broke after 1 week of use. Literally brand new and it broke after I finished my PG Unleashed

After using some Tamiya nippers i'm gonna put money aside for the Dspliae nippers. Affordable + the nipping sounds appealing
DSPIAE (Dream, Strive, Perfection, Innovation, Advance and Excellence) supposedly.
Dude what's that colorful files? Im always curious about them but dunno the name
So Diet God Hand in the best way possible. always feel iffy about premium nippers but I might jump for these
What is that sanding block/holder and those sanding sticks?
Where can you buy unpainted Gunpla ? All I can find is prepainted ones but I want fully unpainted if they exist.
I'm guessing brand new ones in their boxes, unbuilt from Newtype, Hobbylink Japan or other stores which sell Gunpla.
Seems it would be hard to best something called God hands
saw them the other day on sale so i bought them haven't tried them yet hopefully there good but godhand are the best

Godhand makes the PN-120,one blade cutter, red handles and an adjuster...so they pretty much a copy of Godhand.
