I live in Houston, but am a Twins fan having grown up in Minnesota. All the Astros fans I have spoken with either dismiss it as no big deal and just shrug it off, saying everyone steals signs, or they just refuse to admit it.

What if MLB simply made the Astros forfeit every home game from the 2017, 2018, and 2019 seasons? Invalidate every Astros hit, every home run, every at bat? That means the opposing pitching did not have their ERA affected, or any other category that would be affected by the Astros knowing the pitches.

Stephen Smith put it perfectly. I've been rooting for the Astros since I was 3 years old. As a Astros fan and a baseball lover, I am absolutely appalled by this. It hurts to see your favorite team do something so low. When the team does something like this, people all over the country think of all of their fans as low life, cheating scum for lack of a better term. I truly hope they learn from this, and never do this again.
Hey man same. That's heartfelt and the exact same way I feel as well. I love the astros, but I hate this. It's horrible that they did this especially considering this team is too loaded with talent. But... we the fans have no control over this stuff. It's sad :(
@@sportsjefe it's true. No one can refute these numbers. Also, a lot of people have been talking about the huge decrease in their strikeout rate. There are a lot of factors that go into that. Hypothetically speaking, it isnt simply that their strikeout rate went way down just because they were cheating and knew what pitches were coming every time. Once again, I'm not refuting or in denial that they did/may have cheated! I fully understand it is likely. But the Astros office made a lot of changes in that time frame that could also play into it (i.e., coaching changes).

If I were the commissioner I would have the Astros pay a $600 million dollar fine to be paid out during the next two decades, and they should also lose all of their draft picks for two seasons. If the Astros don’t get a super severe punishment then more teams will use the same system which is not right.

As a huge baseball fan, and have played the sport my entire life. I love watching the best teams collide. The astros were a team I’d always watch if the Whitesox weren’t on. After thecheating scandal I won’t watch them again or use any of there players in MLB I’ve lost all respect to the entire organization. Took a WS from the dodgers, and the Yankees.

Not enough people discussing the punishments needed... $1,000,000 is nothing, heck teams pay way more than that to buy a player out of a contract. On the team level, we need to see something like a $50,000,000 fine, ban from post season for 3 years and any management involved banned for life. Players involved also need to be banned, I don't care how good or popular they are. This is Pete Rose x10, so bans handed out need to be at least as severe as his - yes lifetime.

I’m an Astros fan. I will defend my team, although I do believe that what they did was wrong with the banging of the trash cans, there’s still a huge piece of evidence missing. There has been no proof of “camera usage” to relay these signs. All the evidence that has been shown is the banging of trash cans and whistling. The whistling was debunked by the MLB when they investigated it, stating that they couldn’t decipher whether the whistle was from the crowd or the dugout, so they dropped it. There has been all the evidence of trash can banging, as we can clearly hear in those videos, but there has been no videos or pictures of a hidden camera (or any camera for that matter) in center field. I’m not denying that we cheated, I’m just being 50/50 on this. I won’t admit that we did any wrongdoing (yet) because of the no evidence of cameras. Oh, and also that email stated that we “suggested” using cameras. That doesn’t mean we did, because we don’t know, because there’s no evidence. Come at me triggered fans.
