You are a great story teller. I’ll never forget the first time I took my Filipina to target practice and how nervous she was. After 32 years of marriage, she has become a very proficient shooter with multiple weapons. We now live in rural Kansas and we built our own firearms range. It is very therapeutic and we always fun competing for high score. 😊

Coming from a Brit who is just about to move and live permanently in the Philippines I’ve found your experiences and differences about living in the west extremely interesting and useful it’s given me a few answers to a few questions I had about Filipino culture so Salamat for that and your channel

I’m married to a Filipina for 21 years, your experience is very much like my wife’s experience, we live in the country and I have a ton of guns and I also have that same dry sense of humor and I often have to explain the joke to the wife but that’s just adds to her charm to me, she’s an amazing cook and a very hard worker as well as being pretty smart and nice to look at, I feel blessed.

I have been warned that Sarcasm is kryptonite to the Filipina 🤣 Thanks for sharing your experience with this. Many of these others I would have just assumed are "normal" and so hearing the cultural differences/understandings is very interesting. And yea, I'm in TX and nobody is getting into my house without the installation of sprinklers.
Marriage has become such a wasteland in America. It was so refreshing to watch a committed Filipina wife discuss her experiences with Cano.

Kamusta? I just found your channel. I'm a Filipina in the Great State of Texas. I was born in the Philippines but grew up here in Texas since I was 10.
As you know Filipinos are so mixed. I'm of German and Irish ethnicity born in the Philippines but I claim myself as a Pinay kasi ang puso ko ay Pilipino.
I try to keep up with my Tagalog as much as I can.
I, too, am married to an American with Scottish heritage. Our children are tow-heads with blue eyes but they're being raised the Filipino way. They are also fluent in Tagalog and very respectful of their elders.
As far as 2A, it's imbeded deep into our culture here in Texas. We're a ranching family with over 1200 acres. It's our livelihood and it's not an easy one.
We enrolled our children in a safely and tactical professional training class starting at the age of 7. They're also in Tae Kwon do. We wanted to train our children early in case we become incapacitated to protect them. They know how to protect themselves. Thank God for the Founding Fathers.
I laughed so hard when you mentioned your husband's sense of humor. I can relate with the slapstick type of humor in Pinas and learning how Americans are with humor. My husband loves puns! 😅
It's good to have found your channel, another Filipina with similar values as I too am conservative.
Looking forward to watching more of your videos.
    Ingat at God bless.

That's a lot of acreage. Wow! I'm sure there's plenty of space for a range... a big range, lol😊
Thanks for sharing your story! It's nice to know like-minded people.
I don't always post videos since it's just a hobby, but I'm glad you're here! See you on my next one ❤.

I just subscribed because of this video and sent a link to my Filipina Girlfriend as we have been together for a bit and she still struggles some of the things i tell her about the USA. But I now live in Negros Oriental in the Philippines and almost all of her family works for the government in one way or another. And because her mom was an English teacher she also speaks great English and as she is very educated with her Masters working for the Dept. of Education the big challenges we face are cultural and instead of her adjusting I am the one who has to adjust and adapt plus have allot of patience. I might not be a big Baseball fan but used to drive a cricle track race car and NASCAR is completely foreign to Filipinos. Biggest difference is TV shows as she watches local and Korean and Asian where i watch American ones and UA-cam and Not a big Facebook user. As long as you are communicating and have a sense of humor it will all work out.

Interesting video! I can resonate with several of your stories. 1. I was getting gas at about 2am after a gig and my son was approached by a guy with a knife. I advised him to back off, and also that his knife would do him no good. He didn't get the message until I opened my jacket and we avoided a problem (I don't draw my sidearm unless I have decided to use it). I actually made money on my grandparents cattle ranch in east Texas by shooting gophers. I was 6 or 7 at the time and was well trained on guns. There was always a 22 leaning against the screen door frame in the kitchen, loaded. 2. I have lots of family that love baseball, but it was never my thing. However, I do have a 2nd or 3rd cousin a couple times removed that started an umpire school in Arkansas back in the 20s or 30s and introduced baseball to Florida. BTW, if your husband has an autographed baseball jersey, don't wash it. My wife is stubborn and probably would wash it anyway, even if I asked her not to, like using bleach on rubber-back bath rugs after I warned her not to (an expensive lesson). 3. I love Mexican food even off a truck, but really loved a 7 course meal I got in Santa Fe, New Mexico once. They used a different chili in each course, including habanero chilis in the Watermelon Sorbet dessert. The restaurant was in a two story house about 300 years old. Just the chilis' flavor was emphasized, and very controlled heat. They also have a huge plaza with a big church built on the site of a former Spanish church from the 1600s. They used small pine logs for the ceiling. Probably early 1800s construction.

Unbelievable but the story about the intruder is exactly what happened to me and my Filipina wife... Exactly the same thing. However for me, as soon as I told the guy who was kicking my door that I was going to open the door and I had a gunski, he immediately disappeared. My wife was crying on the phone with the police who was telling her to tell me to not shoot the guy but I just calmly told him that I had a gat and he booked it down the hallway. Welcome to America 😢

I’ve been subscribed for quite some time, first time commenting. This was very, very nice! I have a Filipina girlfriend for many months and she lives in Paranaque, Philippines and I will be flying there to meet her the first time in late October. She knows I am there to propose, but just doesn’t know when, so big surprise with her sisters as the masterminds, lol and family coming up. Love them all. I am hoping to bring her to United States soon after. We do have some difficulties however. She left her husband over 21 years ago from abuse and never got an annulment, so that is a huge obstacle at the moment. We too have a plan A and a plan B. Regardless of our challenges, we are looking forward to having a beautiful relationship such as yours. This was very heartwarming and I wish you two all the best. God bless.

My wife was similar with most things you've said, she was from Venezuela. She's learned to love sarcasm. She actually wants me to correct any of her pronunciation that is wrong, she loves learning some of the phrases (like many southern phrases) we have here and they actually have a lot of matching phrases for the same things there. They have nothing like being conservative down there, there's only left and far left (and now, just a dictatorship). She was lucky to leave right as Chavez came into office. It's funny that she was a citizen here even before I met her, so I'm not really a passport bro, lol. Glad to see you're doing better.

Collectivism is valued more than individualism in The Philippines 🇵🇭. The opposite happens in the USA 🇺🇸. The Bill of Rights ✅ values the rights of the individual more than the rights of the collective.
Americans think that putting sugar with avocados 🥑 is weird. 🤪
Filipinos who visit the USA 🇺🇸 get surprised 😮 that most people with Spanish names are not Filipino: they are mostly Latino.
Tex Mex is different than Mexican 🇲🇽.
Tagalog has Spanish words. But they are often not pronounced or spelled as Latinos would. Filipinos tend to pronounce words with s with sh. Like siete as shee-ete. Latinos will say this is wrong! 😖 Sibuyas is Tagalog. But, in Spanish, that is the wrong spelling: it is cebollas.
Baseball ⚾️ 🧢 is what is 1 of the 4 major team sports popular in the USA 🇺🇸: the others are basketball 🏀, gridiron football 🏈 and ice hockey 🏒. I played baseball ⚾️ in high school.
American English uses jargon from baseball ⚾️: throwing a curve, getting 2nd base, playing hard ball are some expressions.
Whoever wants to know the mind of America had better learn the rules and realities of the game -- and do it by watching first some high school 🏫 or sma town teams. -- Jacques Barzun. On the plaque near AT and T Park, my hometown San Francisco 🌉, home of the Giants.
