@@BlueRice I just bought myself a 2019 Civic Si. with 3000 miles. Great car. Good lil engine. Good torque and good mpg. NOT the most exciting engine to drive though. I bought it to be a good all around daily that will last 200k+ miles. If I were going to buy a Civic as a fun car to drive it would probably be a 9th gen. I've never driven a K series engine but I am pretty sure it is more exciting to drive than the L15 turbo.
@@scottgas1299 thats exactly what it is. The new gen civic is a good car. It's faster in straight and on track. Way better for daily - It checked all the list. But its a whole different breed than the old gen civic. Old gen civic has n/a engine that appeal to most car enthusiasts people. The new gen looks - its like I can't say I like it or dislike it. It looks bit over the top, too fancy and a bit too childish.

Awesome race and love the content as always! The s2k has so much rpm to play with it’s easy to keep it in vtec (a range of almost 3k rpm) on rolling starts, but I don’t think your buddy did that here. From a roll in whatever gear it is, his revs need to be at 6k and up. Tbh I’d love to see a re run of this race I’d bet it would be dead even with the s2k driven properly.

I'm looking to get a 17-18. I'm planning to get hondata to help with rev hang, and a bit more boost power etc.
I'm not a big tuner and not looking to race, but I want to make the car more fun and faster while maintaining good reliability
What bolt ons would you suggest?
I've really enjoyed your race videos like this as I'm learning bit by bit what the tune can do

I know the people would love to see you race a stock Type R and you use phearable or map 3 tsp. Idk if you know anybody with one, but that would be sick to compare.
He'd get walked. I have tsp map 3 and get walked by guys running hondata ethanol tunes. And they get walked by stock type rs. I see it every weekend

How does the steering feel and the suspension/chassis compare between the 2 cars. I own a 10th gen Si and I just LOVE the steering/suspension/chassis feel. The adaptive dampers at this price point … along with how good the suspension/chassis/steering is is really rare. It’s really sublime. But, I was thinking of switching to an s2k, since our family has other cars that can fit the entire family. My I love my Si so much it’s hard for me to let it go. It’s just that good. Thoughts?
Plans on your next car? I just started building my SI with the Garrett gtx2860r gen 2. 300whp is good enough for the stock motor till I get forged internals and a built trans. Still gapping mustangs with that power 🤷🏿♂️

I don't think I have many viewers who have muscle cars, which is part of the problem. Thats the reason I need to have a V8 on my channel for a while, to gain those viewers. As of right now, I don't know anyone with the right muscle car to match up against my 10th Gen
Oh man I would love to see how my tuned Ap2 with FBO would hold up against a modified 2020 civic.
S2k’s have very poor air flow characteristics. If you look underneath it’s nothing like 10th gens and it creates poor aerodynamics the quicker you go.
Awesome car though. I’ve owned 2, Ap1 and ap2. They LOVE boost. 🐌

Do you still run the Phearable tune for daily driving? Side question does "God Mode" work well with the catted downpipe?
No god mode is bad for these cars, especially the stock turbo. It will also destroy your cat
I dont use GOD mode and I prefer Phearable. I used TsP today because i wanted to be on stock boost levels for a closer race

There's no internal mod that give power. Only cat delete with tune is only option to gain slight power.

@@Camhill182 awesome! My si sedan is black, only bad part about it is you gotta hand wash it , don’t ever take it thru an automatic car wash . Mine was already scratched up from the dealer washing/ wiping it down a dozen times as it sat on the showroom floor for over 6 months

How often do you put 1.3 of ethanol??. I live in cali too. And my knock control goes up really quick everytime I floor it
I say I do it every tank, but realistically I only remember to do it before every race
Oh okay makes sense. So only when you drive it hard. So for me can I put 1.3 as well??. Or does it all depend on the percentage of ethanol?
The math comes out to actually 1.7 gallons of E85 added to a tank of 91 to make the equivalent of 93 octane pump gas. It is dangerous to the injectors and other components if you overestimate, so I (being a f__king noob) think its better safe than sorry, So I add 1.3-1.5.
No reason as to why I add 1.3 some days and 1.5 other days. I just, idk. Thats just what I do

It sounds like the S2K has longer gearing too so the Si is able to pull harder and shift earier
Have you ever thought of getting a crown vic/police interceptor as a project car? They accept mustang parts from that generation and there's tons of potential for a drift or drag build. I'm speaking mostly through my want for one, I just don't have the the garage room for it 😕. In my area they go as low as 1500 for the high mileage ones.

Yeah the p71 got the v8 from the mustang gt. You just gotta look at idling hours that's the major thing and be ready to replace the Intake manifold

Why’d you switch from the phearable tune?
I used TSP for this video because I wanted to run stock boost levels. Map 1 of Phearable is already 19.5 psi, which would have made this less of a close race. I like close races. I fabricated, if you will

Dont they came stock with like 270hp and similar torque? It wouldnt even be close... My 240whp 210tw K24 Type S can barely take those V6 accords. They are very quick cars, and if its an automatic, forget about it.
@ Its about 280hp to the crank and fun fact the 6 speeds put down more power compared to the automatics ;)

Me and my brother raced stock to stock. We did like 10 runs. Each time we ran completely even like literally my mirror next to bus mirror then at about 125-130 the Si starts slowly slowly passing the s2k.

You need to do 20,40,60 rolls. These na cars you run are way bellow powerband from 50.

Cameron Hill I meant to say since you still owe money to the bank, it’s considered negative equity. When you buy a car for let’s say $25k, you are considered to have $25k of negative equity. When you have paid $5k of the car, that’s not necessary $5k positive equity, it’s $20k negative equity. My question is, wouldn’t getting a new car put you more in debt since you haven’t payed this one off?

Thinking about UA-cam from a content creator’s point of view, I want to move on and try something else. There will be a whole new can of worms opened with literally any other car. I just want to try something else. I love the car, but im not IN love with it. Its great, but my heart is with the 9th gen

Such a great video and a race I was looking for. My 10th gen hatch with the custom 22 psi ktuner map and no bolts on, would be equal to that S2000.

You are switching tunes forth and back. Did you ever have the feeling that the map didn't input properly.
I had my custom and then switched to ktuner starter 21. I now have switched back to my custom and I feel my gas response way more sensitive. Wtf? I am sure it feels different than the same tune a week earlier. Btw I have stored my tunes in the 5 slots ktuner device has. I switch them through infotainment
I think there are some weird electrical anomalies that occur when tuning these cars, so re-flashing can help, from my experience. And you should get the Phearable tune! John just released it for the non-si models. Im actually teaming up with him for a giveaway next week 😎

Story of my life: getting gas and someone talking to me about the 2003 Suzuka Blue S2000.
He said only intake keepers it’s actually.. exhaust and intake keepers and retainers should be replaced to ap2!! The retainers are the ones that eventually crack and drop a valve :(

Sorry to say but the particular s2000 is really slow.The vtec engagement is noway 'strong' as it should be(you cannot almost hear it) and those heavy 18'' wheels are killing some horses also.
Great cars, but the S2000 it has so much character and it’s an Icon of course. Would be interesting to see what the difference is with the AP2.

I have a 2005 S2000 with basically bolt ons and stock ecu and 2020 type R.. the S2000 is funner to drive.. the type r is faster by far and I haven’t even stepped on her since she only has 250 miles... I know on paper the type t handles better but I’m way more comfortable in the s2k..

9th gen just needs 3in catless plm/full race with a 2.75-3in catback. Leave stock intake system with a drop in K&n filter and factory tune and you’ll walk s2000 easy
Good race man, but before u sell the civic try to get a race set up against a boosted 8th gen or a acura tl type s that should be a great match up... also just to add against a really modified s2000 u probably would won't stand a chance.

lol you can’t do a 30 roll in a honda. the best rolls are 20 and 40 for a honda so that you can engage vtec and the gears will be weird. 30 rolls in 1st is already in vtec and then if you do a 30 roll in 2nd you won’t engage vtec in time so you have to do a 1st gear 20 or a 2nd gear 40 or even a 3rd gear 60
