If you watched our most recent jarred vodka sauce taste test video: ua-cam.com/video/wlcveMOyHP0/v-deo.html you will remember that there was a mystery sauce. This is that sauce. As always, thanks so much for liking and sharing our videos!
Jim- Favorite Chef is having a Competition in which you can win $25,000. The deadline to enter is June 19, 2023. I seriously think you can win. Please enter. I sent you an email with all the info.
Whenever I watch other food channels now I’m always so disappointed at the end when they taste test their own food 😩😂 Having James do the taste test at the end is the highlight of your videos ! And I love your wife’s spontaneous inputs here and there. So wholesome to watch ! ❤
Jim holding James's hoodie ties back when he leaned over for another taste was definitely the best thing I've seen on UA-cam in a while. So wonderful. ❤❤❤
Jim, you have become my favorite You Tube chef! It’s not only the way you cook, but your personality is so natural and welcoming. Having your family participate, only adds to the appeal. According to the comments for each video, you are creating a lot of chefs out there. You make cooking very unintimidating!
@@Catherine-2008 absolutely - I sometimes feel like a fool for admiring them so much (especially the taste tester :D) but the recipes are great, the explanation is so well done and the people behind it are just so "cute" 10/10 ! :)
@@Catherine-2008 yeah, I think in this YT world you have to shout out loud almost all of the time, but I try to spread the word here as much as I can, so that it can always be like that :)
I think James is a great taste tester! He definitely had a good poker face going on, and he never just gives you a good rating just because you're his father! And like you said, jim,by the way he was reviewing it, I thought he was heading towards a low score. Love all your videos, guys!
What a JOY this boy is for this family and all of this channel's viewers. Thank you for sharing him with us! Enjoy this Boy. He will be a man before you finish blinking.
I love your channel. I love that you involve all of your Family! ❣️. That is so wonderful these days to see. I've been a viewer and fan for about a year now. I've made about a dozen of your recipes. They have all turned out great! I love that you're detailed about what you can put in and what you can eliminate if you want. And what not to eliminate, really, if it's not going to be the best way. ✌️🌻🇺🇲 Thank You 🙏
I made this last night and actually mostly followed the recipe (vermouth instead of wine, half homemade creme fraiche and half cream) and it was really delicious!
I was about to freak out because I plan on making this dish tonight for dinner (as I was browsing your website for recipes) and I thought that was an INCREDIBLE coincidence, but then I realized that you did promote this recipe in the latest email, lol. Now I know why. Can't wait to have this tonight!
I cooked this tonight! A classic recipe for this channel. Make sure to use good tomatoes as the flavour they provide is crucial. We didnt bother with the basil (saves some money) and we substituted some of the cream for grated paramasan. We loved it.
Thanks for another great meatless Friday recipe. BTW, I used the Victoria Sauce for a lasagna. It was a great recommendation. Thanks to you and the taste tester!
I LOVE YOUR CHANNEL MAN THANK YOU SO MUCH I STARTED COOKING ITALIAN FOOD THANKS TO YOU. FIRST THE ASSASINS SPAGHETT AND IT WAS SO SIMPLE AND AMAZING LAST NIGHT I DID THE PASTA NORCINA TOMORROW PASTA FAZOOL THANK YOU SIP AND FEAST YOURE THE MAN!!!!!!! ALSO SHOUTS OUT TO THE TASTE TESTER HOMIE FOR ALWAYS KEEPING IT REAL WITH US. SALUT 🫡
Mr. Sip :) I love your channel because you give the " why" behind your choices. Great job. VIDEO SUGGESTION> you use a portable burner, can you do a video on which one you like, how to use it best, Tips and tricks, what you have learned using it and Best/worse uses. thank you!
I love the idea of mix of wine and vodka - thanks for the explanation as to why. 🙂 I love, love, love shrimps, but I actually have a phobia about shrimps that are not deveined. I just can't do it! LOL I love using heavy cream with these types of recipes. It is the best! I love how James is really learning how to parse different aspects of flavors and ingredients. He will be way ahead as an adult eater than most people!
Thanks for your amazing recipes Jim! Learned a lot from your channel. And it's beautiful to see your family interactions.. so wholesome and heartwarming. :) Something I like to do with vodka sauce (and I know it's absolutely not traditional, but I still like it) is adding some smoked paprika after the garlic, as I'm adding the chili. I find it adds some beautiful smoky rich notes to the sauce. Keep up the great work! :)
Thanks on the Calabrian chili. Will have to try it out when I have a little extra cash for groceries. Might try shrimp this way this week. A friend put me up for meat and seafood shipments last Xmas.
Got some shrimp in the freezer I need to use, so I will be making this in the near future. Will be interesting going to a liquor store to get Vodka though, as I haven't had a drop of booze in three months. Also scrolled through the comment section to see Jim catching a lot of strays over the new editing style 🤣and even one lecturing him about serving food cooked with alcohol to his teenage son 🙄 Keep cranking out the awesome recipes and videos my man. You've been a staple in my kitchen for two and a half years now.
Just made it! I used frozen shrimp that were a bit too small and they released a lot of water so the marinade didn't stick very well. Used mezzi rigatoni but the sauce was a lot thinner I was expecting, so next time linguine. And my personal taste I think one cup of heavy cream is a bit too much. Wife still gave it an 8.5!
Missed you Buddy... I subbed to the alerts I don't get them. Love this style especially I love cooking Italian Dishes or anything Spicy. Always make this dish but once again I like the White Wine Addition love it. Happy Belated Father's Day Champ 🏆
I think this looks truly delicious! I live in Japan so commercially made vodka sauce is hard to find so I’m very pleased to know how to make it. Thanks!
Just when you think you've seen every type of pasta... You learn about another type. I've only tried jarred vodka sauce once. It was ok but definitely the kind of thing you could make way better yourself.
😂😂😂😂 Bro bro bro James cracks me up everytime hahah!!!! I love how you explains the little tidbits of your recipe not many people do that I appreciate it all! I will have to get a jar of cento chiles I love their tomato products only ones I use for sauce
Jim, I always enjoy you videos because you remind me of the guys I grew up with in an Italian neighborhood in North Jersey. How about making fried calamari in hot / spicy tomato sauce? One of my favorites from the Zig Zag restaurant in Bellville, NJ.
I love Italian food. It’s my favorite!!!!!. I’m going to try this but I will tone down the heat. The tiniest bit will make me run out like James did, lol😅
Great recipe. Very simple and similar to mine. I do think its a waste to loose all that shrimp flavor from the stainless steel pan though. Might be good to add some of the sauce to deglaze that shrimp pan and add back to the non stick pan. Good stuff.
I always freeze my shrimp shells, mainly for stock. But, i also have 2 cats and no outside garbage and pick up is once a week, i hate picking up a dumped garbage can and trying to find all the shells 😂😂
Raw shrimp or shrimp shells that accidently get lost produce an unforgettable odor. Learned that the hard way of course. Kinda like when the neighbors chicken laid an egg in the back seat floorboard of our old Lincoln. Kept the windows rolled up after that.

Really like watching your vids. Feels like cooking with the pops I never had, and the recipes are pretty good, too :) Here's to many more videos.
Love the new kitchen addition! Always a wonderful feeling when getting a project like that done and being able to enjoy it the way you love to!
The pasta dish looks amazing and I personally LOVE Calabrian chili paste. James at the end is so darn cute!
I like that you are flexible about ingredients. It really puts you leagues ahead of any other cooking channel

Excellent instruction. Thanks! Will be making this as I have shrimp in freezer and didn't have any plans until now.
Great job 👏
Vodka basically has no taste other than alcohol, added white wine really helps out vodka sauce. I'll 100% make this for the wife this weekend.
This has now become my most favourite dish ever. Thank you so much!
I made this last night and actually mostly followed the recipe (vermouth instead of wine, half homemade creme fraiche and half cream) and it was really delicious!

For a unique twist I use 1 tsp hot paprika in vodka sauce. Will have to try the white wine that's new for me.
I’m so excited to make this recipe tomorrow
Best cooking channel. Jim’s like family now.
Good tip about the water to bring down the temp Jim! I do that all the time if it gets away from me. Simple always works best.
Awesome video, will be making this tonight.
