Whenever you come across shorts on your page, click not interested for all the 4 shorts. I came across this under comment section of a video about disabling shorts, which says the above mentioned technique works in disabling shorts

Deleting social media is the best decision of my life I’m 30 I go to peoples houses to talk n hangout make phone calls and don’t text eliminate the screan and you gain the world

This is good journalism. People need to hear such stories regularly which first hand affects them rather than what political party did what.
I am having a hard time disconnecting with my mobile. I want to do it, but my reflexes says otherwise. I am not in social platforms for more than 7yrs, only watch UA-cam and it's seems i am addicted to it. I have bigger goals to achieve but i am hindering myself in achieving them, seriously want to get away from it😢.
UA-cam addiction is a real thing. I spend hours watching UA-cam and still feel that it isn't enough
Create a daily routine and set certain amount of time for UA-cam. You should use UA-cam in that time and only in that allocated time. Reduce the UA-cam consumption time weekly, say if you allocate 30mins/1hour per day for Week1, for next week, reduce consumption time to 20mins/45mins. This is upto you.
You can install timer apps to execute the technique i suggested.

I am not a dooms stroller. As a ambitious Carribbean woman, I have too many things to do like reading, building my business, connecting with my real friends who are my community. Going on the beach, managing my time & money.....And so much more...I use what is called " Moderation " which is why " Self discipline to Spirit discipline " is the key to winning in this area.....

I deleted my insta account for 2/3 months then I started reading books and even when I was not reading books I was expirencing that the Quality of my life was much better I was being present at the moment and was very happy with my normal life 😄

In India in the 70s there were wallpaints everywhere advising people to limit their number of children. Nowadays there are fertility clinics everywhere. My advice for couples who find it difficult to conceive: Remove those electronic intrusions into your homes. Read newspapers and books.

Maybe I was one of the fortunate ones that while doomscrolling I was tucked with a video of Swami Swarbopriyananda ji and i happened to watch that video in full with patience and there he advised to go and see a beautiful documentary to his viewers for once and he was lecturing about social media distractions to his students in Kolkata RMS and it was Social Dilemma in Netflix...come 1.1.23 I deleted my account in Meta now earlier Facebook for ever my life i found very much better after that free of unnecessary emotions, scenes etc. Outta me from social media...now I have developed one more thing and that is i take my phone to my pillow side to make sure I fall asleep ever faster which I never achieved ever, thinking of seeing Neeraj Chopra to his gold medal getting up early morning to see he has missed it...
But if I don't use my phone, I can't sleep and feels more anxious

We all are just scrolling and love it more because the AI knows us better than any human being around us, I am being given the most customised attention. The algorithm just shows me what I like and what resonates with my mood.
The app sometimes pacifies me like a friend.
Though it is bad , it is a friend too.
Sometimes it is toxic as I can’t concentrate on anything else. Can neither eat sleep nor work.
Guess it is same with others addicted to it as well
At the end it is just somebody’s business tactic to keep us addicted to the screen.

I am not on social media and download Instagram only on weekends. I read a book for 10 mins every morning and touch my phone only I'm done with brushing and bathing.

My anxiety is cause of low paying job that I am currently doing and not finding a way to get out of it.Many people have anxiety because of same reason.Now days it seems media is focused on saying that my anxiety comes from me using my mobile,it's bullshit.Main problem is lack of job and opportunity.

Less energy eating.
Download smoothing music, meditation music, or less noisy favourite old ones
Explore useful stuff like full documentaries, new places, cultures, facts related to your interests , healthy talks,.
Download and repeat listening to understand abd absorb and to awaken the wish to like the best stuff.
Better to watch kitchen recipes, some wonderful constructive ideas etc.
Many more we can share.
All these are not energy eaters.
But energy givers.
So true...youtube is my free education. I learn how to bake, cook from different chefs all over the world, filming, editing and painting.

What if I have to use my phone and laptop for long hours due to my work and study. Almost zero brainless scrolling, but screentime is around 11-12 hours every day.
That's a different case. You're not randomly scrolling through short form content , so your attention span is not so deeply affected, the other effects of doomscrolling like body pains may occur.
That's OK if you are doing work.
An essential realization that everyone should have: we are subjecting our brains to artificial stress with smartphones, and regrettably, it's becoming an unavoidable habit.

From last 7 months No Instagram. I deleted my facebook account 6 years ago. Recently I have started posting shorts on UA-cam that is only nature and gardening related content. Not for likes but for myself.. ❤️

My whole ethnicity is the assimilation of others cultures. I don't even speak my ancestral languages.
For me,that means eliminating my news sources.Which means eliminating Firstpost.
Mindscrolling means mindlessly scrolling. If you come to yt for watching the news and you watched the news and stopped using yt then no, it's not mindless scrolling.
I used to do mindless scrolling where I scroll through shorts. I won't even remember more than 3/4th of what I watched, and hours go own that's bad. Now, I only go through videos and that too from specific creators.

I think greater screen time is bad only if apps use like social media otherwise ig you use youtube and for your work the greater time is good .
I am using my phone for study and watching what's going on like AI, research and and many more but not social media so I think I am at good state...

Some people the first thing they do is turn on the television. They keep televisions on non-stop. But we don't criticize television. Couch potatoes are worse.
There's no better or worse habits like these couch potatoes and doomscrolling, it's all equally bad for our health physically, emotionally and mentally.
