What a great singer! And that's exactly what a comparison should be, singing the same phrases in each one. Nice job! I'm looking for a mic to perform in a tribute band to Red Hot Chili Peppers, which is very thin and midy, I think the e945 would be great for it... I use a sm58, but it's a little bit bassy and the low ends stick out, what is usually good, but it's not alike Anthony Kiedis voice...
Honestly, the SE Electronics V7 works magic on both male and female vocals live. Especially if you want more vocal level in a band situation as it doesn’t feed back much at all. The other go to mics I use typically are the e935 sennheiser, the e945 is really bright so find that not as good as the 935 and the beta 87a great mic all round. Love the videos
Excellent review. Liked the beta 58. Nice attack on the bottom end of the voice and lovely detailed highs with the shimmering vibes. Polar pattern makes some what of a different I feel. With the supercardiod very much have to be up on the front of the mic? Cardioid is a bit more forgiving and proximity more even especially when you slightly go off axis (to the side) Great amount of information here.. As said at beginning excellent review video.. Thank-you both for posting Cheers 👍😎💭🎶🔗🎵😊💜💜
Just as I'm listening (Adam Audio Monitors), the KMS 105 has a little more low mid on her voice than the SM7B maybe slightly smoother; 58 and 58a are very similar with maybe slight better handling on higher volume; e945 felt clearer than 58a that maybe as there was less low end in the e945, maybe if really close, the proximity would round the tone out a bit?; e965 smoother than 58a?, e965 sounds more like a "studio recorded" voice as opposed to a "live" mic'ed voice; e965 had more low than KMS 105; e965 maybe just wins on her voice?. All very subtle and interesting, I hope she finds a mic that she feels is able to deliver what she is trying to do...
Can you compare the microphones Heil pr 37 vs Sennheiser e965 please I really appreciate your help with your videos thanks... I heard Heil sound has microphones with new technology 🤔
Great comparison, thank you! Wonder if we hear also the limits of the mic preamp (especially regarding e965)... Which one did she choose? Is Angela on UA-cam?
Angela chose the Beta 58 for her circumstances - using a 'low-end' PA in a live environment. Bear in mind the influence of familiarity, also. Mackie old-school desk into Focusrite Scarlett - I have found (with testing) this setup more than adequate.
My opinion ,you should brought the Beyer m88 left everything else home ,Mate... But here the s965 hands down ,then Beta 58 as for me getting all the warmth on a female vocal..the old sm58 was very warm in a really hot pa it would shine very bright, so my opinion depending on the room, how hot is sound system ....Anton love your work, Next demo do tube vocal preamps ,
KMS105 might cut trough the mix better as it is? Or work well on rooms where the bass builds up? One might benefit from testing the mics with a "band". But i would take the e965 from these and try a different eq settings with different songs. With my voice & e965 i tend to keep eq flat or boost mid 3db and high 6db. With the later settings it might be more near KMS105? Note: i am noob...
SM7B but with 'presence boost' engaged (actually it means straight from the capsule, w/o the passive LC bandstop in the circuit which causes a sort of bathtub curve) into a Neve 1073 sounds nice. I'm not a fan of SM7B with 'flat' setting directly into a transparent preamp, though. Beta57a is a nice alternative for the Beta58a on vocals, with a bit more clarity / less boominess, otherwise simmilar character (same capsule and body, just a different grille with less foam inside).

I’m interested to know, what was her final pick?
She's leaning towards the Beta 58.

Angela sounds good with the Beta.
965! 👍🤘
Everything depends on voice and on the stage
I really like your videos. Have to sub!

As always, kms105 a little lowend overpowered in a muffled way, and a lack of 3-7kh makes it very relaxed
I think the Earthworks SR314 is a nicer 105, but pops can be an issue if careless.
There is no perfect microphone
