    Each Keyboard brand has their strengths and weaknesses, and it’s all PERSONAL PREFERENCE there are no brands better than others… If you love a brand it’s because it fits your personal needs and likes…. Thanks for the video 🙏🏻

    I have an MPC Key 61, Yamaha Montage M8X, and Kurzeill 2700 workstations. The Roland Fantom sounds to me, sound too sterile so I won't purchase one, but you can't argue it has an awesome workflow. I missed out on owning a Kronos 2 and don't like the Nautilus because of the removal of the controls. This is a dream announcement for me and the Kronos 3 will be welcomed to my workstation family.

      @droidknight847 That's why I've already pre-ordered one. It's a great keyboard, Even though it's a very old design, it's still powerful and already a classic!

    I hope that korg finally realises that just a touch screen is not enough. You really need live controls i’m glad they did something about the boot time some korg keyboards had ridiculous boot times.

    Let's be honest here. This keyboard is for people who did NOT have the Kronos and Kronos 2 previously before they were discontinued. That doesn't mean that you have to put them down by saying 'don't know why you would'. And also if other workstations are more superior, then why was the Kronos so popular? No offence intended but you couldn't be more wrong in this video. Just because you prefer other workstations like the Montage.

    • @synth.s
      @synth.s  15 днів тому +1

      @jordanking7711 i totally agree with the first part of your statement. However, even the previous owners of kronos might still want this (if they prefer the kronos workflow) since this new version is definitely faster and enhanced in comparison with the old kronos, but overall, technology wise, The kronos is nowhere near Montage m8x, especially when it comes to FM synthesis or Acoustic sounds!

      @@synth.sDifferent sounds. Korg will always have that classic Korg sound. Yamaha has more of that modern edge to it, but sometimes the classics are used for a reason. Just look at Michael Jackson and the classic "old gear" Casio's, Roland's that stand the test of time with the best songs we know and love. Newer doesn't necessarily mean better. I will definitely be buying this new Korg Kronos that is maintaining sounds from 15 to 20 years ago. I had more fun and inspiration with an old Roland workstation than the new Roland phantom workstation. Anywho can't wait for the weekend 😁

      @@synth.sI am a Kronos user and a Montage user. I dont own the M. The M is more current in innovation, however the reason I have not bought one is the shear lack of sound libraries. You basically get whats in the machine. Now Kronos on the other hand has all other companies beat hands down simply for the vast libraries and the libraries are really dang good too. I own 2 kronos boards and sadly I will probably buy another one and make one of my older ones a backup. I too wish they had done more redesigning here, but I feel lost on stage without my kronos. My Montage is a backup and I have had to use it unfortunately and its just not the same. The sounds on the montage platform are very good in some areas, but for a wedding corporate band I just need more. Especially in the brass category. I have never run out of sound possibilities with my kronos. The innovation that yamaha put into the montage is really cool, but honestly on stage I dont think it would do me a bit of good. Kronos just works for live musicians. It was and still is a powerhouse and still the best most powerful board made for live performance.

    I think it's very good that Korg will be making The Kronos again. I don't believe it has to be absolutely upgraded. It was excellent and playable in 2013 (or whenever the improved "New" Kronos was introduced), it should be excellent and playable now. Musical instruments are not like consumer electronics. Even professional electronics are nothing like consumer electronics. So, comparing the screen of the Kronos to an iPad screen, or a the Kronos Intel motherboards to ARM based motherboard, it's all pointless. Moog had reissued the Minimoog Model D twice already (2016 and 2022) and it is still a desirable musical instrument. Even if something else sounds exactly like the Minimoog, there's certainly nothing else that looks and feels like the Minimoog. Not even Voyager can touch the look and feel of the original Minimoog. It's a classic.
    Whether the Kronos is a classic, that's debatable. I, personally, quite like the route Korg chose with the Nautilus. The graphical user interface has been changed, and I think it is better. Sure, they should've kept cursor buttons and put a full size vector joystick on it, and have a better button switchgear, but other than those minor shortcomings, I must say that the Nautilus is rather perfect. But I am glad the the Kronos is back. I actually like it more than the Yamaha Montage or Roland Fantom. Will I buy it? I don't know. I think I might rather add $1,000 and get a Roland RD-2000 and JUNO-X. That could be an optimal keyboard setup for me. But that's me. The best thing is not to share one's personal preferences, because everyone has different one. I am only glad that Korg still makes instrument, so the fact that they are bringing back the Kronos is exciting news to me.

    Anyone who thinks this is Korg's last bet is wrong. You only need to look at the price to realize that this is the last Kronos to be released, a fact that more than pays off a marked debt to the users of this platform. The one that is going to disappear is the Nautilus. The next bet is to see with its sales if this platform is still valid to conclude with the next great workstation that will integrate much more than this proposal, it will come with the union of hardware with the software of a computer format, greater connectivity and the experience of the development of the synth that they have launched in parallel, such as the Wawestate for example. So this is the last and best version of the Kronos that we will see. The big difference between the Kronos and the others is that it allows you to sample whatever you want without limits, and to include that material with plenty of space so that you don't see your dependence on external equipment and the Internet limited. It's simply a workstation, and they are the creators of the workstation. Combining that with Roland's connectivity and expansion proposal would be ideal in my opinion, as it would give us the best of both worlds.

      @ iPhone is made by Foxconn. Foxconn is a Taiwanese company, but most assembly is taking place in China, India, and Vietnam. Bringing some manufacturing to the U.S.A. might happen with 100% tariffs imposed by the new administration taking office on Monday. As far as Yamaha goes, only very few high end products are still made in Japan. That would include the Yamaha CFX grand pianos, which have been discontinued now, and Yamaha PHX series drums. All the rest of Yamaha products are manufactured in Indonesia and China. The vast majority (90%) of world's semiconductor components come from Taiwan.

    Korg has lost their way in the high-end workstation game. Fantom and Montage are way ahead because Korg let the Nautilus languish without a full update or replacement. It had virtually no knobs or faders and the GUI was meh. And yet Korg did a fantastic job with the Pa5x which in my opinion is the best and most forward thinking keyboard they make. The GUI on the Pa5x is the best Ive ever tinkered with -- very simple and color-coordinated to make finding and programming sounds and kits extremely easy. Its the one GUI you almost dont need to read a manual to figure out how to use. They needed to put that GUI in the new Kronos at the very least but with some updates for a workstation environment. Honestly Id spend a couple grand on a Native Instruments keyboard w/Komplete Kontrol rather than the new Kronos and save the money if you dont want hardware complication and want a PC to do some of the heavy lifting. Too many good alternatives to put $3500 towards. I love Korg, but I dont think the company has the same commitment to being a leader in the field that they use to have. Maybe its a money issue like Pentax trying to keep pace with Canon and Nikon.
