    My choice is 556 LE with fine link bracelet. Sporty and elegant, all satinized without polished surface, sunburst anthracite dial adds a touch of elegance. And practical too, 200 WR. Thanks for the wrist shots.

      @@ClickSpringReview I can imagine it'll add more muscle to the watch, greater wrist presence. I prefer H-link on the standard 556. On the more elegant LE, fine link. Having both bracelets would be fun.

    I like the Sinn for being a stronger watch. WR, crown guards and it’s got the X factor for me

    The finish on the 556ib sunburst dial is purely perfection. With the bracelet the beauty of the watch is compromised, in my opinion. On a brown leather strap you can truly admire the watch itself.

    I'd have to go with the Sinn. The beefy lugs of the OP seem out of place with the character of the watch. In general, I just don't care for the "Super Case" or whatever the name is. They're both really nice watches and it's close, but I wouldn't pay the huge price differential for the Rolex. Nothing wrong with the ETA 2824 for reasons mentioned elsewhere.....
    Just to be clear, if price isn't an issue, it's still the Sinn for me,

      The Rolex just feels a lot more refined than the Sinn and has an beautiful in house movement were the Sinn feel more like a tool watch but both feel solid . Rolex say it only needs servicing every 10 years were the Sinn is 3/5 years

    • @think2023
      @think2023 3 роки тому +2

      Sinn is nice enough for me...and i can service the Sinn for the rest of my life and Beyond with the money I would have from the Rolex sale. At the direction of Rolex Canada I took a bubble back that belonged to my father in for service at damiani Jewelers in Ontario Canada. It went in almost a chronometer standard and waterproof it came back not running and they had drilled the case to change the crown tube and therefore it was no longer waterproof they say. A long sad story that took the better part of a year resulted in a watch with horrendous positional variability that isn't waterproof and usually runs but not always. One of the times it was given back to me I took at the Rolex Canada were they verified that at that moment was running 3 and 1/2 minutes fast per day. They would do nothing for me in spite of having recommended the a d. I couldn't stand to own another Rolex after being treated so poorly. The claim check didn't even have the serial number on it and at that time I didn't realize the movements were also serial numbered how else could you explain the complete degradation in function unless they had stolen the movement? They also accepted responsibility up to a total of $86 for loss or damage.
      To get full coverage i had to pay a high appraisal fee.
      Even the promised rolex strap didnt materialize...got a hirsch.
      So.... I've got a very very bad taste in my mouth from Rolex!
      Never again!

    It'd be the Sinn for me, I prefer the look. I think the dial and handset is nicer, and I'm not a fan of the maxi case on the OP. It looks odd going from such a broad width at the base of the dial in to such a tapered bracelet. I like the more toolish elements of the Sinn, too.

      Hi Desmond I love both models but I have replaced the Sinn Anniversary 556 model with the standard 556A non anniversary model now as I preferred the dial , The OP39 doesn't have a maxi case sir that was the sub , The Sinn is more the tool watch as you say with its crown guards and extra WR to .

    Regardless of price the Rolex looks a classier watch. The grape dial has a lovely richness and the case and bracelet are better finished. The Sinn appears “tub-sided” when viewed from the side whereas the Rolex has svelte lines. If the Rolex had the fluted bezel instead of its plain polished one then while it would add to the cost it would make the Rolex “pop”.
    I’ve always preferred the sportier Rolex models but at its lower price point this might suit many pockets better and for some is not so “ in your face” as the popular and more expensive sports and GMT models. Also right now I suspect these are less desirable even if stainless steel so second hand there are probably deals to be had.
    Thanks for an interesting and detailed review.

    The Sinn is an absolute workhorse of a watch! I have the same one, but with white MOP dial. I do have a bit of a love-hate relationship with the bracelet though. It gets uncomfortable after a few hours, whereas my Omega does not. Don't know why. Also, the bracelet is very hard to detach and re-attach. Now I just leave it on a strap and it looks great! Brushed case hides all manner of nicks and dings. Safire crystal seems impervious to scratches. Second complaint would be ETA movement has only 38 hour power reserve. I'd prefer 60 or 70 since I don't wear daily.
