Striking form, sparse dial design, superior readability - characteristic SINN features which highlight the similarities between the 556 series and our pilot and navigation cockpit clocks.
The accentuation of the hours, minutes, seconds and the date plus the satinized stainless steel case are what give the watches their sporty yet elegant appearance. The crystal of the 556 watches is made from sapphire crystal, as is the transparent back which provides an intriguing insight into the filigree mechanical movement inside.

Sinn Complete Oil Filled Range (U50 Hydro)
color & those skeletonize (the way they do )are not my cup of tea , if there is no logo , I would even think it was a sub 100$ watch sell in Amazon .color looks plastic .Sad to see Rado go this way .
I own a black 556i and a 556i in blue. They feel like a different watch. I used to wear the 556 on their H-Link bracelet but lately I prefer them on a leather strap. Black on the 556i and brown on the 556ib. Those are my office watches. Love them both!
The most desirable is the 556 Indice Red Seconds, being the most balanced in sterileness, aesthetic balance and versatility, its both dressy bauhaus-feel and tactical tool at the same time. The arabic dials were a bit weird as the numbers are too big, almost feel like its numbers for nursery children, just personal opinion, many people like it. The fancy dials ie MOP... up to personal taste coz it doesnt feel very sinn.
Are all H links brackets tegimented steel as well?
Or only certain models like the 856?
I have never deliberated so much over any watch model in my life than the Sinn 556! Only yesterday here in Australia I was almost ready to put the RS in y basket then almost put the i in blue in my basket! It’s ok, I’ve only been like this for some 2 plus years Barry!😵💫🤪🤣 Oh & this hasn’t helped!😆
My favorite would be the blue dial (with applied indices) on the fine link bracelet.
Great watch. Great review. Mr Sinn strikes again.
i think the Longines Flagship is a lot nicer watch for the money.... so is a Monta Noble... both are much thinner, much nicer clasps and bracelets... much lighter... and same price....
Wow a 556 family reunion, cracking👍. My fav is 556A RS with blue #2. While H link looks most genetically correct (matching sheen on case/bracelet) I think a stingray strap would make it look dressiest.
I’ve owned all of them and after a few years of sampling I ended up keeping the OG ETA version. At only 13.5mm it’s stacked in between the current version and the FXD for thickness so it’s very comfortable on the wrist and I prefer the cleaner dial.
Hi Barry, they're all good watches, but perhaps the A or AR might find a home chez moi. There's really no such thing as an Entry Level Sinn, just like with most (all?) German watches: they're all excellent quality... Have a good weekend Barry, LG Bob 🍻
Hi Bob and well said Sir I'm still hoping to review a 903 at some point , You have a good one matey
@@ClickSpringReview 903 eh? Bring it on Barry! 👍
I have a 556 A and I love it. Mine is on the green/gray nylon strap, which is very well-made and robust. As long as Sinn does not continue to raise its prices, it's a great watch for the price.
One of my friends has the 556I and loves it he was thinking of buying a vintage Rolex the other day but said he just can't imagine why would I need another watch when his Sinn is just so perfect
@@ClickSpringReview I understand that feeling. I have been on a waitlist for a Rolex for over a year, but I wear the Sinn so often and like the quality so much that I'm actually thinking of getting another Sinn instead 🤔
You're the man! Thanks for all the Sinn coverage
Cheers my friend nice of you to say :)
Request: can you some time do a review of Rolex Sea-Dweller 4000 'SD4K'… what do you think about it compared to a Sinn diver like u50. Great channel!… Greetings from Boston!
Hi Sir I'll see what I can do, the two watches are very different the U50 is more like a military watch were the SD4K is pure luxury in comparison but still does the business
Finally!!! A complete 556 guide
I love reviewing Sinn's and thought it would be worth doing this one ps if there are any others you'd like to see let me know
Your reviews have been really helpful with making my mind up on my first mechanical watch. I had been eyeing up a fortis f-39 for a long time now. Bit over my budget though. Seen a used f-39 online for a decent price on a strap and was tempted but id have to have the bracelet. Looked up the price of a f-39 bracelet, 500 euro, yikes. I keep coming back to the 556A. They really seem hard to beat for the money. Also, the fortis has the same SW200 movement as the 556A and having watched a lot of reviews on both watches, seems to me Sinn regulate their movements better. Anyway, I've made my mind up now, 556A it is.
Hi Martin the Fortis is a good watch for sure but 556A may cost a thousand pounds less but it definitely isn't a lesser watch. I love my 556A it came on a H-link but just over a year or so ago I also picked up a Fine link bracelet which transformed it and all for a very affordable price. I'm a 100% sure you won't be disappointed
go for the berny version
Not sure about that Tommy 🤔
Hi, I love your show and I just bought my fourth sinn which is in fact the 556 , The Arabic/red second version. One question is have you done a UA-cam where you show us how to take down a bracelet put in a strap I can’t quite figure out how to do that on the 556.
Thanks Peter kind of you to say sir , Ive done a few , here is how to fit a Sinn silicone strap ua-cam.com/video/unst9p3wD_o/v-deo.htmlsi=mYG0wdyAR7i6iBxw Here is a Sinn bracelet swap ua-cam.com/video/N7Eb3-1a5Zw/v-deo.htmlsi=yPjW44fav3WrbzLk hope these help
Still trying to get rid of a couple watches so I can pick up my first Sinn. Excellent video as always!
Thank you Sir I always enjoy reviewing Sinn's, which model are you hoping to get ?
Cool video! Love to see the different variations. The 556i was my first "serious" watch and really brought me into the watch hobby. Still wear and enjoy it regularly to this day. This watch is really built like a tank. Greetings from Germany!
Many Thanks, The 556 is just a solid watch both in build quality and accuracy plus 200m WR to boot
In contrast to other opinions I see it as a spark of fun! Inspires joy, definitely a conversation starter. Loving it!
And glad to hear it 👍🏻
It's a nice watch but I wonder why Hamilton is so cheap with AR coating. The Khaki king have the same problem.
Its hard to beat a watch with good AR
You are truly a Sinn man! Planning a trip to Germany next year with a stop at the Sinn factory in Frankfurt.
Its really wroth going to, I was there last ua-cam.com/video/dJRCFkC__0Q/v-deo.htmlsi=ryIQZ2b08XaaEF9j Ps I'm hoping to go again next year and Cheers
Sinn Hydro watches are out of this world, but I cannot bring myself to buy a quartz watch that needs to go back to the factory for a battery change.
Ive two and to be fair you only have to do every 7/9 years, my first ever Sinn was the EZM2 GSG9 boxset edition which I picked up in 2009 and still have it today
I have a 2005 Seiko SBBN007. It is remarkably accurate, keeping around +1/2 to +1 spm! That is definiteley within COSC standard and also equal in accuracy to most Grand Seiko and other HEQ brands. The 7C46 movement is definitely high grade quartz. While not thermo-compensated, it is still very, very accurate. And the overall unique design of the Seiko Tuna can't be mistaken. It's a much more interesting watch than the Sinn, IMO.
Hi Sir COSC rating is 10 sec a year, I still own and enjoy both watches. I think last year the Sinn did 7 sec a year , the Tuna did 12 but after changing the battery it started gaining more but that may claim down a little after a few months
SSB-CCF-FFS are the acronyms in the 3 official language of the same company, the swiss railway company : German: Schweizerische Bundesbahnen, SBB French: Chemins de fer fédéraux suisses, CFF Italian: Ferrovie federali svizzere, FFS
Yeah thats correct I think I say it in the video at some point Sir
Some great camera work as part of this review. Tricky dealing with all the reflections I imagine. This one is a NO for me. Admittedly, I haven’t had it in my hand, but it looks cheap and reminds me of a certain recent Swatch collaboration.
I had the sun filling the room with light and so it looks a little different to some of my other videos. Ceramic watches are a bit hit and miss its true done right with sharp edges they can look great
I'm not generally a fan of Hamilton dive style watches, but this one looks like a fun watch. Good review.
Completely with you on that and cheers
The design of the captain cook watches have always been something I liked I think they look great and they're pretty well spec'd too. Great review Barry !!
I really like the Captain Cook range my pick would be the steel blue or green model 👍🏻
To freaking large!……make a 37, 38mm version.
They do a 37mm model 👍🏻
The lume is bright blue despite looking patina yellow in the light? That's fantastic! Can you confirm the lume is blue?
Its a very light blue you get to see it at 2:30 Sir
Hi Barry it seems to be a Marmite watch, and much would depend on how much you like blue . I think if the case was darker the watch would be more popular: I understand those who feel that it's cheap looking and adjusting the colour might improve opinions. The concept is pretty cool though! LG Bob 🍻
Yeah but I feel thats the with mostly everything Rado makes which is a shame, I maybe back to 3 videos a week for the next few weeks as I've so many of my own videos I need to get out there Bob
Just bought the blue cc and its a compliment getter
Always good to hear from somebody who owns one ps welcome to the channel
Looks extremely cheap.
Might be better IRL 🤷
@@swanney75 Or worse?
It does look better in the flesh Sir
Looks like a cheap plastic watch I know its not. But a big problem when. Paying big money and it looks cheap
Yeah I can see that with the finish on the sides but might look better in the flesh? The smoked dial black ceramic one looks amazing
That is one problem with ceramic watches, it is true but they do look better in the flesh Michael
Yep the black one is sooooo cool
Case looks like Rado-Swatch ) In steel is much better
Love the captain cook watches-I’d worry about smashing it though as my watches pick up dents like nobody’s business! Anyone else think the anchor logo on the crown looked like the Starwars rebel logo? 😂
I never thought of that 😂
I do own a 103 Matt with Acrylic. Outstanding watch. Still want to get a 356 into the collection though. Just think it's a really cool small chronograph. Of course acrylic as well
Nice, I have a 103 reserve panda but I'd also love a 356 copper dial model
What color is that strap... black or navy blue?
I'd say very dark blue but in many lights it comes across black
It's much closer to a 62mas than a marine master
Yeah I have to agree Carl
I have the same piece but my bezel does not have back play.
That’s good Gavin as pretty much everyone I’ve ever had has had some back play mate 👍🏻
Oops I was wrong, definitely had some back play.
No problem Gavin PS you have an amazing watch there
Beautiful watch really indeed it's beautiful watch ...but leather watch is not good for daily use so i prefer bracelet silver to be honest ..my favourite watch brand is Longines especially that hydroconquest its nice ❤❤i have one
Longines do make some amazing models , this one I think would benefit for a bracelet or a thick black leather strap I feel Sir
I plan to enter the world of watchmaking. I'm looking for the best tool kit up to $100. Many recommend this tool set on Reddit. Would you recommend this tool kit for a beginner? Thanks!
As a basic set these ones will be perfectly ok plus you have the advantage of having a case for them all , Are you planing on taking an online course or University ?
@@ClickSpringReview At the beginning, I plan to build a Rolex 1016 replica for myself with parts from ebay. Riyi cases and bracelets from ebay are good. I also have a beaten Citizen 7 Eagle. It belonged to my grandfather. I would like to bring it to an great condition someday. I didn't know there were online watchmaking courses. Do you recommend any with English subtitles?
I did this one first before going to University unfortunately it hasn't have subtitles www.watchfix.com
@@ClickSpringReview I know this guy. I used to watch his videos on UA-cam. Thanks for the help and good luck at University. Cheers 🍻
Cheers Ive already done 2 years and now i'm in my final one. I started working in a service centre about a year ago 👍🏻 ps good luck and let me know how it goes
Nice watch but I agree that bracelet belongs on another watch not on this case design. The case while having subtle angels is rather simple and the bracelet is very busy and takes all the attention. Odd.
It was the same on the MM300, the bracelet just never matched Jose
These are the best Sinn reviews. I wish someone would do an in depth review of the different EZM2B crown systems; threaded, D3 push/pull and D3 short threads. The world, or maybe just me, needs this addendum to your review.
Cheers and I'll see what I can do
Very nice look at these thank you!
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍🏻
Excellent review as always! Seiko tunas are just so unique and unbelievably hardy. I believe the bezel insert for tunas are acrylic or some form of plastics. When it gets scratched, polywatch works on it, though the frosting will pretty much be removed along with the scratches. The only tuna I know that has a different bezel insert is probably the SLA041 - which is either in aluminium or ceramic.
Cheers for the info Sir
the red second hand allows for a red rubber strap. perfect simplicity for sports wear.
Yeah thats a good point 👍🏻
Hai hamri paas
Its a real funky watch this one 👍🏻
That’s a stunner, beautifully looking, offered at a fair price… Bought a white one for my better half and a black one for myself 😊
Very nice its a crazy but cool watch
I’d go with the 40 simply because it has a screw down crown, unlike the 37.
Fair comment Sir but why do you need a screw down crown
