Thank you for posting this. This is actually from Archie Bunker's Place the spin-off and the continuation of All in the Family I remember seeing this is a rerun either in the late eighties or the early nineties. All in the Family and Archie Bunker's Place and anything written by Norman Lear was actually ahead of its time in a matter of speaking
At least it's not All in the family. Archie is awesome, I love All in the family. Archie is against everyone other than himself. I don't take offense to him at all. These shows are very funny and the racism and prejudice scenes are supposed to lighten people up in certain ways. When it comes down to it Archie is very loving and harmless. He felt absolutely horrible when Edith's friend who played a drag queen was killed but they made her seem to believe he died because of that when he was looking like a man not as Beverly. He was with Michael in a dark alley. They got robbed and he got shot. So they shouldn't have made it out to assume he was killed for who he was. It was just some heartless person who robbed people and had no heart. I always will love Archie, Edith, Gloria and Michael. This show here is just OK.
". . . the racism and prejudice scenes are supposed to lighten people up in certain ways." No. Those scenes are intended to show people that racism and prejudice are wrong. They're not intended to make us more accepting of prejudice. They're intended to make us more accepting of people.
@ What you term "forcing gender identity politics" is actually transgender people's campaign for their freedom to live their lives as they please. We wouldn't have to be campaigning for this freedom if people hadn't for so long denied it to us. And any time people decide to drop their opposition to our freedom, we'll be happy to call a halt to our campaign. As for morals, there is nothing preventing transgender people from living decent and moral lives, as has been proven here in Ireland where we do in fact have the freedom to live as we please. True, sad to say, there are some bad trans people in the world, but there are bad people in every demographic, aren't there?

@@DavidLS1Yes, Archie was an example of, “what not to do” and America found him hilarious. Of course, this was before everyone was offended by everything.
This wasn’t the first one. In All in the Family there was an episode where Mike’s friend was thought to be gay but wasn’t and Archie’s macho football playing friend was. Either way, All in the Family was an entertaining show in my opinion.

right about what? all he did was get offended about someone being gay and then complained to the bartender like an emotionally insecure karen, is Archie's emotional weakness, inability to mind his own business, stupidity, and tendency to annoy others with his dumb fucking complaints the reason why conservatives look up to him so much? because that makes so much sense why they would all be clowns when their hero is a literal parody of every conservative that is too annoying to even have conservative friends

Carroll O'Connor and Norman Lear were big time Liberal's. The Archie character was meant as a mock .
