  • Sylvia Earle brought her underwater microphone to Mister Rogers' Neighborhood so children could listen to the fish in the aquarium. When the fish don't make any noise, Fred Rogers surprised everyone on set when he decided not to reshoot this scene explains Hedda Sharapan.

You know a man is powerful when he’s not even afraid of his own vulnerability and fallibility.

Recently I've went on a Mister Roger's marathon... and I must say, there's not one clip where I was disappointed. The values that he taught and lived are timeless.

I'm so happy to have watched him as a child. He really was one of the best ever.

Mr. Rogers gets it. “What do we need entertainment television or honesty?” We don’t need unrealistic expectations we honesty. Is ok for things not to go as plan, go with plan b or plan c if necessary. His shows heals everyone’s inner child. Mr. Rogers was all about mental health in children, how to deal with emotions, told kids that they matter because of their uniqueness and most of all showed us to love our neighbors not matter who they are. One in a lifetime kind of man!

Even though I'm commenting 5 days after this video posted, I cannot fathom how I have given the first 'Like' and the first comment to this video. Mister Rogers... with all of his kindness and wisdom... is a WORLD TREASURE.

This wonderful man taught my children so much, we had many a dinner conversation over what Mr. Rogers was saying to them. They weren't allowed a lot of TV but Mr. Rogers was definitely allowed. I thought there would be so many more comments. We need him so much in this day and age. Children need a champion.but, don't we all

But one more reason I love this special man like he’s a treasured family member. In my heart, he is. He was so incredibly soothing and at the same time inspiring to my super busy mind and body as a child. And his authenticity was such a grace and a gift to my tender heart and sensitive nervous system (many adults felt inauthentic and it was rattling and disorienting).

We were very lucky to get one. Just the right man for the right era. Mid-century theology and psychology were both so damn optimistic that he was the perfect vessel for both.

"There was an adult named Fred Rogers, and there was a character named Mister Rogers, but there wasn't a whole lot of difference between the two." - Margy Whitmer, producer on Mister Rogers Neighborhood

I love to watch Mister Rogers. I value his Neighborhood even more now than when I was a child but sometimes I'll go a very long time without watching because it actually is intense and it can hurt to watch someone like Fred Rogers be so honest and so vulnerable and just themselves in this world. The way God wants us to be.
I picked up at a very early age, that Mister Rogers was purposely teaching us that things don't always work out as we hoped them to but I still learned, without voicing that I had done so, that it's okay to move on or wait or be patient; to let life flow. These are things that all ages struggle with but I struggled greatly and Mister Rogers' peace let me know it was okay to have peace instead of getting angry or frightened at unpredictably and change ❤
