  • A groundbreaking discussion occurs between Gaius Baltar and Number Six... love never lies, right?
From "Torn" (Season 3, Episode 6): On Galactica, divisions begin to appear between those who remained on the ship during the Cylon occupation of New Caprica and those, like Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) and Tigh (Michael Hogan), who suffered under the Cylon yoke on the planet's surface. Tigh spearheads the discontent, his faith in human loyalty shattered by the betrayals he experienced on New Caprica.

I always loved this scene with Baltar and Six with Battlestar Sonatica playing in the background.

I always loved the we need a call sign part where people were yelling out Chrome Dome, Titanium, but you could tell in their voices they were just trying to be funny, and Karl and her knew it, because neither got angry

not a military guy but I've always heard your call sign was something embarrassing that is chosen for you so it makes sense

Correct, worst thing you can do is ask for a callsign. You'll get one and it'll be something of an in-joke that your peers use to mock you.@@nickg4564

I remember Ron Moore pointing out in his podcast that this episode changed heaps in the editing! It wasn't originally meant to be so stylised.
I also had a reoccurring problem on my laptop back then, that the sound and video would be unsynchronised when watching a video, so when watching I just thought the episode was mucking up!

The only thing that pissed me off about this show was Ellen mentioning Cavill's jealousy of the number 7 model where Cavill destroyed the model. I was wishing there would have been at least a flashback or a picture and we found out that "Daniel" whos final unit we saw in the Human fleet, but died at sometime leading up to the revelation, maybe Billy Roslin's former right hand man.

From the point of view of 2022, we can say that Trisha is a very good choice for the role of the six.

though i would have preferred Natasha Henstridge, i wont complain about Trisha, since she could act and did a great job as a seductress who had intelligence, though her intelligence might have just been programming.

Was the creator of Battlestar Galactica, Knight Rider and Buck Rogers' show, Glen Larson, really a Mormon?

Apple Vision Pro in action...maybe the precursor of projection. The US Air Force has been using AR helmets in the F-35 for quite some time now. Since this show ended over 15 years ago, some of the tech speculated about here, has come to fruition, at least early precursors.

Honestly Gaius is just another poor guy who got in over his head with a girl. Can we really blame him once he went into self preservation mode?

For some reason, I just could not "warm up" to this show.
Guess I just remembered the original series too well???
Though, when I did watch it, I found it all very confusing.

Unfortunate. Its a brilliant show. It happens though. Much better than original. You kind of have to just go with it with the idea there's a god at work behind everything.

    • @KatriceMetaluna
      @KatriceMetaluna Рік тому +2

@@jonny-b4954 There were "gods" of a sort at work in the original series as well. Vis-a-vis the ship of lights. They even had a fallen angel with Count Iblis.

I was slow to embrace the re-imagined series also, as a big fan of the original, as cheesy as it could get; heck, I was 14. I tried to watch a segment in the middle and was confused, because the re-imagined series is a serial rather than being episodic. You HAVE to watch it in order; there are very few stand-alone episodes.
Then I found the original miniseries/extended pilot on DVD for cheap...and was blown away. There were many nods to the original series, but the new show improved on it in so many different ways. I bought the series on Blu-ray and never looked back. It's one of the finest achievements in televised SF, ever.

If anybody picks on you for it, ignore them. Not even Dirk Benedict was a fan of the show, since they made Starbuck female. He might have warmed up to the show at a later date, but he was originally asked to play God on the show, but to be honest, i think that would have ruined the show, since if God appeared before any of the humans with an undoubtable rep, or the Cylons, or just to the viewers at home, it would have made things preordained, rather than just mistakes both sides make in the past that leads to the hatred time and time again. I liked the whole "Leap of faith" angle of the entire show.
