This is currently my most viewed video! So i've decided to create an updated version: ua-cam.com/video/4cQ7a0u7ZqE/v-deo.html
Man, this is the kind of stuff I wish I'd known about much earlier! There's a few tabs I don't dabble in much, but Layers looks exceptionally useful and a more efficient way to do things. 👍
Hey, better late than never, right! haha... Yeah i would certainly have a look at each area when you have the time; youd be surprised what you might find as Zbrushs UI and general organization is quite the nightmare...
i always new about layers, but never really felt the need to them until i got to doing a hyper realism model, and yeah, this should come in real handy to separate stages more easily so I am not stuck with something I want to undo.
Awesome James! Its def something worth knowing as you advance your ZB skills
@@thivolan3d oh and I found out the hard way about geometry HD lol. Woo doggie that kills your ram real quick. Thinking I should of got 64 versus 32 gb. Ill look ro upgrade soon since my sysyem is still viable and ddr5 is still not super fast compared to 3600mhz ddr4. But hard lesson lost night doing pores on a 890million model lol.
@@jamesbrady1930 Haha, yeah ive been using 32 gigs so far but 64 gigs would certainly help out... HD geo is just nuts, not something ive really touched too much!
I really appreciate this video, well explained and straight to the point (you know, can find lots of 30+ min videos and the part you really need is barely hidden in the middle of the video and still is hard to understand)
Thank you very much
HI, DreamRider712, yeah i kinda hate those videos which is why i started these vids in the first place; to help others with problems they might have and also to document what i remember coz i cant keep track of everything i know/ remember. So if these help others its a bonus.
Could hear the accent was wondering if you're South African - thanks a lot for this, will be watching a lot of your content. So cool to see a creator from SA on youtube with nice tutorials. Made my day!
Haha, hey thanks Huntress! Im surprised you recognized it; even South Africans tell me i don't sound like im from here... Maybe theyre just messing with me?
Thanks so much! Will definitely be playing around with this on my next model! Great tutorial!
Layers are always important. Good video
Thank you, Karel!
Thank you!!! I really needed this today ahah
nice !
Thanks, been super busy lately but hopefully i'll have the full Sculpt plus the tutorial out before the year ends, haha. Look forward to it!
damn I wonde rhow many lines of code the zbrush source code has to handle all of this
Zbrush doesnt use code, man! Just dark magic...
@@thivolan3d well blender has around 1.8 million lines of source code excluding comments and other stuff such as whitespacing. 3ds max has around 3.85 million up til version 2013 idk afterwards so zbrush must be super optimized becuase their pixols technology is unique . it always fascinated me to guess how much lines of code it has.
@@maxgordon3194 Nah i know what you meant but given how old zbrush is I would say yeah, very well optimised! I dont normally delve into the back end stuff but it would be interesting to know
