Thanks so much for the informative video! This is so helpful for those of us who are not quite experienced with importing. And you're doing really well with the videos!
I needed this video right now because I just received 2 shipments from Tropicals Plants. Their live auctions are every Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 9am eastern standard time Tuesday and Thursday nights 7pm eastern standard time and Saturday mornings at 9am eastern standard time
I think we all say "oh no" like Charmaine (because she sounds so cool when she says it). 😄 Thank you for sharing this video, I was looking for more info on what do do with newly imported plants!
I really enjoy importing plants. The process is quite satisfying. I think the best suggestion for someone wanting to import for the first time is to only bring in 1 or 2 plants to keep it manageable. You shared some great info and I'm looking forward to see updates on your plants 😊
I am really thinking about importing, I don’t think I’m 💯 ready yet, but I’m excited to learn more about it from your experience and I thank you greatly for sharing your experiences in your plant life journey!! Ginger
Importing can be a lot of work but also very rewarding! I think it's worth at least experiencing it once. Maybe you won't like it but at least you will understand the work that goes into it!
I was quite tired after the filming because I had a lot of technical difficulties 😭 I hope it wasn't too hard to watch! Importing is a lot of work so I definitely suggest buying from local store/collector if they're available.
Yay they are all done! Hope they all do well, can’t wait to see updates on how they are doing. You put in a lot of hard work, hope you had treated yourself to a bubble tea afterwards 😅😊. Importing is def not for me, I will let the professionals do the work.
Luv luv luv your video. I was paying particular attention to your work with the roots. I struggle when it comes to knowing what to cut…what to keep…etc. I ordered from Ecuagenera earlier this year…my first imports ever. A few weeks back…I ordered from tropicals…and those should come soon. I’m trying to get ready. The Queen that you potted in glass jar with no holes…it’s doing okay?
Thank you! I just uploaded a new video with the updates. The queen is... alive, but not in the best condition atm. It will grow fine in the future I'm sure though. Hope you receive beautiful new plants!
Thanks for the information on tree fern/perlite. I bought in my first import about a week ago. I had them in water for about 5 days then moved most of them to PON. I hope it works! Do you ship plants to the US? I adore your Hoya Joy Splash. I can’t seem to find one with such nice variegation locally.
My friends have amazing results with acclimating plants in pon! Hoe it goes well for you too. Unfortunately I don't ship to US because it takes a lot of time to get Phytosanitary and I work full time...
Thanks for some great information.. I am most likely never doing any imports.. Makes me nervous..I just buy from local nurseries. I tried ordering some poles and a hoya from your province but shipping was 3x more then cost of product and its not only because its across Canada. Shipping in my province can be pricey too.
Thank you for your comment! Imports can be a lot of work and especially now a lot of plants are very affordable so not worth the risk sometimes. But it is still rewarding to see the new growth on the imports! Shipping in Canada is so expensive... especially if you live somewhere remote 🥺
Lmao I needed to see this comment because this is me right now. I just ordered two imports from Ecuagenera a couple of weeks ago and at first I was excited. Then the fear set in.😂🤣
I can’t wait until a follow up video on the progress of these imports.
I like the sharp narrow form of the anthurium Luxurians.
Hello from Puerto Rico!!! Nice imports and repots!!! Thx!! 🪴🌿
Thank you too!
I love your video's, don't worry, will get easier with practice. I hope you'll find the time to post more and maybe also record some plant chores 😊.
Thank you so much! That's a relief to hear.

Thank you! I'm glad to hear it was helpful 💕
Try wrapping a warm cloth around the unfurling leaf. Right before it unfurls. I’ve seen that work for three people.
The filming turned outright. I didn’t notice any loss of sound and the visual was good.
Press the leaf you can frame it. And put it in your plant room for a decoration.

Too many live sale and temptations 😆
They look amazing Jing! And you did very well 🎉 I’m so happy with the Mathilde Splash cutting that I bought from you, it makes me so happy 🥹🖤
Yay! So good to hear the cutting is doing well.

I like you filming in your plant room. It just seems more fitting a place to film a Planty video.
Thank you for the feedback! Do you find it to be too dark?

The "oh no" just came out so naturally 😂 Hope you will get to import this year 😁

That's true, it's important to only import what you can handle. Having just 1 or 2 would be helpful to learn the process 🌿
congratulations on ur first potting video 👍
Thank you!

Great video Jing. Sorry you felt so frustrated. I've never imported. I have a really good local Facebook group and probably never will. 💚

Have you ever tried stratum to grow roots? It works great.
i love seeing your import process! hoping for an update video in the future so we can see how everything worked out :)
I plan on doing updates in a few month! Thanks for watching 😄
Really great video! Subscribed!!! 😊
Thank you so much 😍

I should've gotten bubble tea after! So dehydrated 😂

Not remote 😉 in Toronto
How are the imports doing?😁 I have orderd two imports, and I’m so scared🤣
I should do an update video 🤭
@@planthappens yes, pretty please🤩

What type of soil do you use?
I don't use too much soil but when I do, I have been using Pro Mix Mycorrhizae
Why do you call the large perlite “songs rock”? I’ve not heard that name before.
It was labelled as "sponge rock" when I bought it so I call them that 😊
I can easily see the roots. Why don’t you put all of them in water over night to re-hydrate them.
I find it unnecessary to soak my plants. Most of the time I will just put them in a bin if they're very dehydrated!
I'm a little concerned Gilberto and Co have sent you the wrong plant. Your wendi looks a lot more like a coriaceum/sp morona rather than a wendlingeri
I'm not so sure about the ID but it was sold as cf. wendlingeri. It was live sale so I did pick the exact plant. Hopefully the ID will be updated!
I’m triggered. Lol. I would have stoped with the first and second cuts of the roots.
Hahaha sorry for making you upset with roots cutting! I think it's going to be ok
@@planthappens it’s ok. It makes me braver to try cutting it the next time I see over grown roots.
