Thank you so much for this video! I just recently got a hold of the Mega SD and it is a perfect combo with my Analogue Mega SG. The ability to access the library of Sega Genesis, CD, and Master System on a single cartridge is awesome, and this video helped made that process easy to prepare! I do have a question about the background theme. Are there any specifications on how long, how big, or what the bitrate of the the wav file should be? I recently made a .wav file of the sega mini console menu theme to use on the Mega SD, but starting up the Mega SD menu would be silent. Even if it is BG.wav at the root file of the sd card. Any info could help!
Awww yeah, you're very welcome Sparkster! Glad the video could help a bit!! So there isn't any posted specifications on how large the BG.wav file should be or how long, but I feel you should have something that is a bit under 2 mins and 30MB if you can! The cart is actively reading the memory to play the file, so much larger and longer files will exhibit behaviors if they play at all. BG.wav files should be on the root, and not in any folders! Let me know if this helps!! 😎
@@RetroSho Hmmm, honestly I don't think I have much luck :/ I made some options with the BG.wav file, each one being a smaller file than the last. The latest one I did is 675 kb in size, with 30 seconds of music, mono audio, 11khz sample rate, and 16 bits per sample. Still no music plays when I get to the Mega SD menu. I made sure it is named BG.wac and is in the root folder of the micro sd. Do you know any place I could get a .wav file that are compatible with the mega SD? Things that didn’t work for me: - Custom menu music. I tried multiple .wav files (3 to 4 tracks) and renamed it to BG.wav and BG without the .wav extension and it wouldn’t work. I got into it once but after that, it wouldn’t work, maybe because if you hold start on the M30 it turns off the receiver. Not a big deal for me.
