@@RetroSho quick heads up btw, i have a v1.04 just out now because noticed some changes that EZ-Flash made to the filesystem driver and for Goodboy Galaxy. Not a particularly huge update but some would get a kick out of it. thanks for the great video!
@@Sterophonick You’re very welcome!! And cool! It’s been a while since I’ve taken a look at the EZ Flash myself, so I’ll have to prepare another SD card this weekend and check it out! Hopefully this video can still hold up for everyone. 👀
A few things I missed in this video: 1) If you have obtained a large collection of ROM files from the net, unzip them to your PC FIRST, then transfer them over to your SD card. The EZ-Flash Team also has the file system set up so that it cannot locate files that have the "read-only" attribute associated with them, so also check for this. 2) The saves are saved to the carts FRAM, which means it does not use a save battery like other carts. The battery that is installed is solely for the RTC (Real Time Clock). The battery type is CR1025 and can be found here: www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Batteries-CR1025-Lithium-Battery/dp/B002E3QXMU/ref=sr_1_18?keywords=cr1025+battery&qid=1649490697&sr=8-18 3) If you have trouble saving .GB games, try renaming the extention as .GBC and playing the game this way. Does not work for all games. Thanks to elia_rampage for finding this fix! 4) If you'd like to use the ZX Spectrum Core, with it loaded, press L + R + START + SELECT to access Pogoshell. From here you can turn on the Virtual Keyboard by going down to "Control". The keyboard functions will vary from game to game, so try as much as possible to play games which make use of the joysticks (DPad) as much as possible. 5) The Definitive Edition works with the Analogue Pocket, but sometimes the emulators will crash if left idle. 6) Save States via the Analogue Pocket work for both GBA games as well as all emulated games. 7) Game hacks may or may not work if flashed to the NOR. If they do not work, they will hang on uploading to the NOR. Take caution and instead run them normally from the SD card (Confirmed by Allemand Instable).
can someone please make a program that makes making cheat files easy. for stuff like rom hacks needs to be compatible with how ever SimpleDE uses cheats
Just wanted to share incase anyone else having GBC save issues. Rather than shutting off gba or exiting from menu, after saving in game like normal, press L+R, scroll down and select Restart so the save will commit -- go through the game's usual startup intro to the file select screen to make sure it saved properly-- Then power off the GBA completely. Saves have worked as long as I restarted from the menu first before shutting off. Forgot where I read it so shout out to whoever figured it out.
Great video. Everything works fine (was my second time doing this since my micro sd card I used originally got scratched and became unusable) however when I boot up games like the Pokémon games or GTA Advance using boot with addon, the game just won't boot up, can't even use the addon menu (this happened last time for me). All other games work fine though.
@@galaxycraft0075 Yo! That’s a shame the Pokémon games and GTA games don’t work with the addon. It’s possible it may be the chips on your cart itself. These carts were mass produced and the quality isn’t as on point as I would have expected liked to have seen.
Ok, first off i love the video it help out alot, Second: how did you get your cheats to be in English all mine are in Chinese and i cant get then to b in english any tips and tricks for that?
@@AllemandInstable That’s not normal at all. I’m wondering if those games you’re getting have the correct header on them. It should be loading pretty fast to the NOR 🤔
@@RetroSho it's a pokemon rom hack, I had to shut down the console it was 20min in and 0mb written to nor still i hope shutting down when writing doesnt damage it, I had no other solution i can try with a regular rom though ( original )
@@AllemandInstable Yeah! Becareful of the rom hacks to the NOR if they have large file sizes! They use tricks to get them to work on normal emulators, so getting them to work on a flash card might be iffy 🤔
So this video is a literal god send thank you so much, but is there a way to add your own cheats? many of the included ones feel really weak and sometimes only in Chinese sadly
You're welcome!!! Unfortunately, the cheat system was the one thing I couldn't crack in a clean way. It's one of the most obnoxious, obtuse cheat systems I have ever seen, and I'm inclined to say it's not even worth the hassle. It's not a simple process at all, though you can add to it. Here's a guide if you are interested: gbatemp.net/threads/custom-cheat-lists-for-ez-flash-omega.591665/ I've known about the thread, but it goes so far outside the scope of the video, I had to cut it. 😐 Hope this helps!
@@RetroSho thank you for the quick reply! Do you have any site suggestions to download Roms for it? (I’m completely new to this so any help is highly appreciated) I personally find it’s hard to find info on how to get specificity Roms for it
You can use an Analogue Pocket to install and use the EZ Flash Omega DE (You still need a PC regardless of what you wanna play on!). All of the footage you see here was from a docked Analogue Pocket. 😎
So I took at that thumbnails pack while I was creating the video, and that pack didn't have all variants for every single game that might be available, which is a shame. There is a guide on how to create them for the Omega, but I'm unsure if they will also apply to the DE. Check it out here: gbatemp.net/threads/creating-your-own-thumbnails-for-the-ez-flash-omega-firmware.510210/
Sure! So given the functionality of the Mode B, you're essentially allowed to treat the flash cart as if it is a "OEM game" -- the flash cart for all intents and purposes a "real" Gen III Pokemon game. In the settings menu, set the Mode B setting to "Cart" (in the OEM firmware this will be called "LINK"; make sure you also OK the changes) first, then move over a Gen III Pokemon game to the NORFlash. You can now play the Gen III game to a desired point of your choosing. Make sure you are pressing L + R + START and saving your game data every so often. This will create a back up of the game's data from the FRAM to the SAVER folder for you. Once you're good with your Gen III game, make a final back up, then power off the game and set the physical switch to "B" after this. This will force the flash cart to load the first game in the NORFlash immediately as if it's a real cart (until you toggle the physical switch back to "A"). From here, you can play your Gen IV game of choice, get access to Pal Park. Then once you are ready, plug the Gen IV game and the EZ Flash (With both Mode B settings still set) into your Nintendo DS, and you'll be able to transfer over your Pokemon as normal. If any issues arise, you can toggle the physical switch back to "A" and load your previous save up to the NORFlash. Before you attempt this, make sure you're practicing saving and loading the saves from memory until you understand how the feature works. Hope this helps! 😎👌🏿
Ive downloaded the correct kernel for DE version and i cant access the other tabs when it boots up ex: settings for the cart like the time and cheats on or off
I installed the eng folder for the cheats but all the names of the codes show up as Chinese. Is there a way to fix this?? For certain games like Pokemon Emerald, fire red, and leaf green
So they entire folder for some games will show up in Chinese unfortunately. You can add your own cheats but it's a bit of a process: www.reddit.com/r/Gameboy/comments/hcq2g6/ezflash_omega_cheat_system_tutorial/
After installing the original updated kernel it brings me to the sd card page which shows me ezkernelnew.bin but when I press L or R it does not change pages did I do something wrong?
Hello! You did absolutely nothing wrong at all! I'll ask ya a bunch of questions: Does it show that the clock is running on the SD Card page? if so, did you try to reset the cart? What type of SD card did you use? And what is the formatting type? What I have seen (and unfortunately did not get to mention) is that there have been a few batches of carts that have been defective in various ways. Not your fault at all or the fault of the OEM or custom firmwares that you can load up onto these. I really hope EZ Team does a better QC check on their future cart releases.
Got my EZFlash this morning and this guide had me up and running in like 10 minutes. Thank you so much, you seriously don't understand what it means to me to be able to relive my gameboy days 😭💖
Man I've been looking for an in-depth installation video specifically for setting up a new cart with the SimpleDE theme for DAYS! Great video, thanks for going slow and explaining it all clearly :)
Is there anything like this for the ezflash junior ? Awesome video bro this has brought me a new sense of enjoyment with the omega de I had 0 idea the theme was this ez
Thanks brother! I just got mine in the mail and with the help of your tutorial I was able to get it running just fine in a matter of minutes. (Not gonna lie I didnt have a clue what I was doing)
Definitely! I initially thought this cart would be a poor substitute to the EverDrive GBA. Turns out its a few steps up from that cart, and it provides just a bit more functionality for a fraction of the cost of the GBA. I'm sure other people are aware, but knowing just how much more you can get out of it has always been a goal of mine with these videos. Hopefully you're finding these videos helpful in case you want to purchase one sometime down the line. 😎
Anybody also having issues with this cart on the GBA Consolizer? Works on GBA SP and GB Player via GameCube, but not GBA Consolizer. It’s a shame, Consolizer is the cleanest way imo to play GBA.
Bought Rev B of EZODE works perfectly in my GBA Consolizer! So happy! Avoid Rev A carts that have “OMEGA DE” inscribed on the back. Find a Rev B model that writes “EZODE” on the back of the cart. I’m guessing the newer FPGA chip works better with the Consolizer.
Thank you x10.... I was not aware that pressing L or R would allow me to pan up and down when playing NES games in "unscaled" mode. I really hate to compromise with a stretched image unless absolutely necessary and so having this option means a lot to me.
You're very welcome! I'm the same way and hate compromising if I can avoid it. Ironically it does make some games a little more interesting, such as racing games and a few of the slower shooters. 🤔
Video was very informative. Thank you ! Could use some clarity on where the folder of the roms goes, but after a few rewinds, the significance of its file location doesn't seem to be a matter.
So, I've never encountered this, but I have found a small Bootloader Recovery guide that the EZ Team has written up: www.ezflash.cn/zip/recovery-en.pdf Instead of downloading the recovery image in that guide, download this one for the DE: www.ezflash.cn/zip/de-recovery.zip Not sure if the guide will work, as it seems people have had mixed results. The team does mentiont to contact your seller for an RMA if the fix fails to work, however: gbatemp.net/threads/how-to-make-your-sd-card-to-ez-flash-omega-de-recovery-able.584611/ Hope this helps!
I've followed your video and I cannot get the SGB borders to appear. After researching, I'm not alone. I'm using the GameCube GBA Player but did test on DS Lite too. I've used both the official firmware and the SimpleDE. I used the official GameBoy Player disc (ISO) and GBI, still nothing. Any thoughts?
I think the SGB borders might be just outside of the range for both of those devices. I've been thinking about how to respond to this one for a while, but it seems like it might just be the fact that the SGB "borders" were already truncated a bit from it's original size. Is it possible for you to test on a plain old GBA console to see if it's not a software issue?
Sorry about the slow reply! Did you ever get these images working? You have to press the select button in the menu to display images. Then you can scroll over the ROM files to see them. They don't display for all games!
having a hard time getting the images to appear i put the folder into the systems one and then i added it by itself and still nothing not sure where i went wrong
Which map to put additional emulator's on ez-flash de ? I can download supported emu's but want to know which map and does it need to be separated from the roms or in same map ? Thank you

hey man i have a question. The in game saves don't work for me for GBC and GB. I put all of the backup and system folders along with the kernel. I have tried everything and I still am so frustrated that I can't get it working. Plz help me.
So the GBC and GB stuff may actually be broken on both the original and custom firmware. This is more of an issue with the JaGoomba emulator and not your cart. You can try to rename the .gb files as .gbc if it’s an original Pokémon game or original Game Boy game. Let me know if it works for you!

You have Revision A of the PCB for the Omega DE. When you update the firmware for yours it will say firmware 5 instead of firmware 6. This is fine! This is a message from EZ's site: **"This kernel contains firmware 5 for Rev.A and firmware 6 for Rev.B. Yo! It's been a while, but it looks like this guide still holds up! Hasn't been any updates in a year since it seems. Just make sure you have the Definitive Edition (not the original flash cart) that's coming in. Also just to be aware that some people have had issues getting the custom firmware installed. This might be due to a bad batch of flash carts that have been sold about. Ensure that the first OEM update holds before attempting the custom firmware flash. Hope this helps!

Hey bro, I ordered the same EZ-FLASH Omega Flashcard recently as well as a brand new AGS-101 GBA SP. I followed your tutorial exactly (minus the emulators for other game consoles, I only needed GBA games) The card updates firmware perfectly when holding 'L', and the menu is perfectly functional. However, when I try to boot up any GBA game it just displays a white screen (for certain games it also makes that annoying crunching noise that occurs when you take out a GBA cart mid-game). I looked at a bunch of websites and forums online for an answer and they all led to the same conclusion of contacting the seller for a replacement cart as it's an apparent hardware issue within certain cards. Now, seeing as this cart is over $100 and thus SHOULD be made with good quality, I figured if anyone had an alternative solution to contacting the seller, I'd be you. So, what's your say? Haha.
What's good brother! Haha thanks! And congrats on the AGS-101! That definitely sounds like a similar issue that I've seen and read about, so everything was perfect on your end concerning the installation of the firmware. You could attempt to flash the base firmware only as well, but I'm gonna bet it'll have the same issues, so it is just better to RMA the device for a replacement or get your money back. Alternatively, if you have the means you could also test the cart by seeing if it would work in a plain old AGB-001. Would be interested either way in what you find out! Now! As far as an alternative solution, there IS one! Only... for a little bit more. You've heard of the EverDrive carts yeah? This would be the EverDrive GBA -X5- Mini. Overall, this GBA flash cart is much better built than both the EZ Flash Omega as well as the DE. There are a few less functions that the cart has -- the EverDrive GBA doesn't support cheats or save states like the Omega DE. It also supports far less emulated consoles as well (Has only, GB, GBC, NES, GG, and SMS). However, since you mentioned you only wanted the Omega DE for GBA games, that one fact could be over looked. 🤔 I did a video on the EverDrive around the same time as this one if you want to take a look at it! If you're interested, don't pay over 150 for one, as the cart itself usually sells for 110-120 direct from the maker Krikzz (before tax and shipping). Let me know if this helps!
@@RetroSho Hello again! Thanks for the really quick reply. Yes, see I actually owned an AGS-001 model prior to buying the EZ-FLASH Omega, but it's old, like SUPER old (basically when it first came out). As we all know that model has non-backlit screen, which looking at it now as opposed to my 4-year-old self, it's noticeably bad lmao. That paired with the depleted battery over the years, as well as general wear from my careless past-self made me decide to get a new one for one of these carts. The AGS-101 took like a month to get here, but the card didn't take long, so I tested it on the AGS-001 in the meantime. I watched someone else's half-assed video rather than yours about how to set it up (your video here was WAY better at explaining it by the way). Testing it on the AGS-001 yielded the same results as the AGS-101, so at the time I thought it just had to do with my AGS-001 being old. But even after updating the EZ-FLASH as shown in your video it doesn't work on either console. I've reached out to my seller and am waiting for a reply about getting my money back, luckily, I kept the box and all that. In terms of getting a different cart, I like your suggestion of the Everdrive GBA Mini. I've found your video on that cart and the setup seems relatively the same, obviously there's not a huge deal of emulation on that cart, but again, I only really care about GBA anyway. I've looked at the maker Krikzz's website and it's currently selling for $104 which is pretty much the same I paid for the EZ-FLASH Omega, hopefully if I get my money back, I can use that money to get that cart instead. Thanks so much for your help, bro, and if it isn't too much trouble could you just confirm that the Krikzz website for the Everdrive GBA Mini is the correct one, as well as your video on the Everdrive GBA Mini/X5. Hey! I know this comment is a year old but did you ever figure this out? I was having the same problem and it turned out my macOS was creating temporary versions of all the files on my sd card and I was getting the white screen because I was accidentally trying to load the temp file instead of the actual gba file
@@sbi705 Damn, never thought this comment would ever get a reply, literally forgot all about this haha. Short answer - No. I tried literally everything imaginable, but it never seemed to work, I even sent the card back TWICE and still the same issue persisted on all three cards. So, at that point I just sacked it off and got a refund. I just came to the conclusion that these cards aren’t made like they used to be, and they just simply don’t work anymore, and the company doesn’t really care, which would normally really anger me, but seeing as the location of the EZ-FLASH cart production company is situated in Ukraine according to their website and return address, I don’t think troubleshooting a GBA cart is the top priority on their list to be completely honest. But can I just say, this is a STARK contrast to the R4 cards for the DS I have purchased for myself and others over the years which have worked absolutely flawlessly every single time, a couple of which have lasted well over ten years now and have had absolutely no issues whatsoever, now that’s how you make quality R4 cards. In terms of your suggestion though, I’ve checked back on the roms on both my PC and SD card, and they’re definitely GBA files, so yeah, it was definitely the card. Thanks for checking in though boss, and thanks for trying to help me out with your suggestion. Not many people in this world would look at a year-old comment and think to do so haha.
@@RetroSho GBA, I have to reformat the sd card and reinstall all the games again, I guess I'll try increasing the cluster size like you said see if that fixes the issue. Thanks.
@@antonioaguirre9949 Welcome! As much as I like this flash cart, it unfortunately has way too many issues like this that goes beyond the scope of what I said in the video. For me, I don't have any issues at all -- for others, they've had various ones, from SD card corruption to the cart failing after a short while. It's really a shame TBH. In retrospect, the quality control is pretty bad, and I hope they make a new revision before long.
The RTC? The EZ Flash team has stated before that some backlit modded consoles will affect the clock crystal oscillator on the card and speed that up or cause it to stop. Is it possible you're using a modded console? It's also possible that your cart has a manufacturing defect -- the clock crystal may be poor and causing the timing to be off...
@@RetroSho I am using a Backlight GBA. I also read about the crystal oscillater getting wonky. The only solution I can think of is using a gba power cleaner to somehow make sure the frequency(?) Voltage(?) doesn't affect the cart. Edit: Just read not "also read"
@@omega-xis1943 Yeah, sounds like the a combination of both issues. I really do wonder if the power cleaner will help, but it might be a good idea for you to do it anyways. I would see about testing the cart in any unmodified GBA that you can find if you can.

Followed the instructions exactly but my GB, GBC, and GBA sections are all showing only 200-260 roms each out of several thousand that are on the card. They all seem towards the end of the list of games starting with the letter C. All games that start with A and B are present. I also have GG games on the card and all 500 are present. I'm using a 64 GB card. Any idea how to resolve this?
Hello!! So, this seems to be an issue with how the EZ-Flash team set up how the the files are located on the card. Try these things: 1) If you grabbed a ROM collection from online, unzip the files to your PC FIRST, then copy them over to the SD card. 2) Check files for any special characters. This cart doesn't like some of the accented characters some games may have. 3) Make sure none of the files have a read only attribute. 4) Ensure that you have a max of 512 files per folder. You may want to format the SD card with a cluster (allocation) size of 32KB or more from the jump if you want to have a fresh start of it. This seems to be a common issue amongst all of the newer EZ carts. i wish I caught it in time for the video. 🤔 gbatemp.net/threads/newly-added-roms-not-showing-up-on-ez-flash-omega.570485/post-9142351
@@ttsvc6638 It should be a max of 512 per folder for the DE! Which is something else I ALSO missed (likely done for those people who format as FAT32, which is a max of 512 in a folder anyways). Will have to stay on the ball next time. 😂
Thank you all for the advice and suggestions! The issue was resolved when I spread the files over multiple folders. It will not display any files exceeding exactly 257. I have that resolved and roms are all present I have another issue I'm hoping can be resolved. When running GBA roms the game fits to the screen with no black border present. However, on GB, GBC, and GG roms the display is very small has a black border encircling it rather then fitting to the screen. I'm not wanting to stretch the image, but rather to have it enlarged until it fills the edge of the screen on my Analogue Pocket. GG roms have a option to strech the screen but it caused glitchy images. GB and GBC have no options to enlarge it at all. Is there a way to adjust this?
@@jdwholman Ahh! Excellent that TTSVC 66's advice worked for ya! They are awesome! 😎 As for the display size this cannot be changed I'm afraid. This is because the emulator for GB & GBC was designed to be 1:1 to a real Game Boy -- it maintains that aspect ratio due to the target hardware being an original GBA (fits on screen, has the exact same issue with real Game Boy games being played on it). Best you can do is stretch the image displayed on the Pocket itself (take the height uo to 1440 from 1067, move Y Position to 0 from +186). I know you said you didn't want to stretch the image though. 😅
You can update the old EZ Card, but it's a different firmware download and slightly different update process. Head here: gbatemp.net/threads/new-theme-for-ez-flash-omega.520665/ You'll want the download to the left (Simple.zip).
@@codyman630 Depends on the game and dump method, but it should be possible. It would only be for GBA games. In this case you would need a hardware dumper like Sanni. That save file would then be able to be moved to the EZ Flash. You could also move the save file from the Sanni and “flash” the OG game in the reverse way. Watch a video on the Sanni Dumper to be sure if it would be for you! Another way to do it would be to use an Analogue Pocket - you could play the game, capture the save state in Memories, then reload that Memories using the ROM with EZ Flash. You’d then save the game normally so it’s stored as a save file. The reverse is also true - play the game with EZ Flash, save into Memories as a save state, run the OG cart in the Pocket, reload its corresponding Memories, then save the game normally onto the OG cart.
@@RetroSho awesome! I'll definitely look into it. I have a rom save file on my phone and can easily send the file to my computer. But I'll have to look into the Sanni hardware dumper for sure.
@@RetroSho gba sp yea it got to download the kernel both versions the ex flash website one and then the easy layout one. Neither play games but just booting them I just get a white screen
@@josephjoestar5444 Did you get it recently bro? Looks like it's a hardware issue (not your fault). I found a very similar issue here with the original Omega: gbatemp.net/threads/omega-ez-flash-white-screen-after-clean-boot.509485/ EZ Team recommends you get a replacement looks like.
@@RetroSho Nice thank you, these are super organized. I also found “no intro” packs which have all the official/beta/protos/all regions/translations, but not organized in that SmokeMonster folder structure. They are also regularly updated by LongAccordian.
@@ttsvc6638 Welcome! No-Intro is a great back for historical purposes but a good deal of the ROMs aren’t verified, which is how the SM pack originally came about! HTGDB seems to continue that legacy since SM packs are no longer maintained. 🤔
@@RetroSho Good to know. All of the no intro roms I’ve tried so far worked. I always thought you needed to run that Python SM app to get that folder structure or manually do it.
@@ttsvc6638 Yeah you have to run that python script to have it verify (by CRC32) and then it’ll sort it by region, type and proto/etc. Each game was painstakingly verified to be good dumps, which is insane. 😂
Oh damn! You might wanna test with another SD card in case. Use a larger cluster size. If this doesn’t work you may have issues with the cart itself and will need to have it replaced. 🤔
@@RetroSho i was reading the comments and i saw that you said this to another user as well lol i have a 32 GB that I just bought so maybe i need to purchase one with a larger cluster size? :)
@@tswishhh Ahh! Well you can change that cluster size during formatting! As stated in the video for 32GB and up you’ll want to select a cluster size of 128KB (It’s what I used. There’s a drop down menu to select this when you do a “quick format”on Windows). Unfortunately, it’s not an exact science and these flash carts are very finicky when it comes to storing data. In your case, I would totally recommend borrowing an SD card if you can! I’d rather not see you spend more money on a larger SD card, only for the same issue to crop up. 😅
The various demos and other things work fine, but any roms I put on myself aren't working. At first, it has a black loading screen, then the screen goes white, and doesn't do anything else. Does anyone know what's happening? Some of them are the same ROMs I've been using for years, so I know they work.
@@transqueen Ahh that’s a shame. As I’ve had to tell a few others, there has been a batch or two of flash carts that have had issues just in general. If I would have known I would have said something about it in my video. 😅

A few things I missed in this video:
1) If you have obtained a large collection of ROM files from the net, unzip them to your PC FIRST, then transfer them over to your SD card.
The battery type is CR1025 and can be found here:
www.amazon.com/Panasonic-Batteries-CR1025-Lithium-Battery/dp/B002E3QXMU/ref=sr_1_18?keywords=cr1025+battery&qid=1649490697&sr=8-18
3) If you have trouble saving .GB games, try renaming the extention as .GBC and playing the game this way.

I would like them to put the motion sensor and the solar sensor because some games need them to play
It's not an impossible addition, but that would depend on the EZ Flash team. Something like it would be costly, I could imagine.

Im having trouble with the cheats & the thumbnails pack how do I get the card to identify the images & cheats for the games?
I only draged the unziped images & cheats into the sdcard.
So I took at that thumbnails pack while I was creating the video, and that pack didn't have all variants for every single game that might be available, which is a shame. There is a guide on how to create them for the Omega, but I'm unsure if they will also apply to the DE. Check it out here:
gbatemp.net/threads/creating-your-own-thumbnails-for-the-ez-flash-omega-firmware.510210/
Can you show how using Pal Park is possible with this?

Does it show that the clock is running on the SD Card page? if so, did you try to reset the cart?
What type of SD card did you use? And what is the formatting type?
What I have seen (and unfortunately did not get to mention) is that there have been a few batches of carts that have been defective in various ways. Not your fault at all or the fault of the OEM or custom firmwares that you can load up onto these. I really hope EZ Team does a better QC check on their future cart releases.

I find learning about flash carts fun and interesting. Also, good to know the pros and cons of what you're getting into.
Is it true the this cart has a shorter battery life than EverDrive? Trying to figure out which to purchase
This is the most important video on the internet in my opinion
Haha!! I appreciate that!
Thank you x10.... I was not aware that pressing L or R would allow me to pan up and down when playing NES games in "unscaled" mode. I really hate to compromise with a stretched image unless absolutely necessary and so having this option means a lot to me.

My gba games will not save on my DE ez flash!
What memory card are you using? Unfortunately the EZ Flash can be spotty with saving, which is a shame.
I did a video on the EverDrive around the same time as this one if you want to take a look at it!
These links are shown below. Thanks again man!

Not many people in this world would look at a year-old comment and think to do so haha.
if its ok to use the miro card 256 gb one for the other store besides amazon?
im stil trying to figure this out.....
Not sure. Depends on the SD card brand you want to use. I’ve only ever used Sandisk and Samsung cards
ok. one more thing, do you have to use any cord to plug in the gba to the computer? im still tring to figure this out.@@RetroSho
@@sarahmcguffin1210 No cords or anything! You use an SD card adapter to plug into the computer to do all of your work.
After some time the I get a save file corrupt error and can't boot certain games. Does anyone have this problem?
Which game is it? GBA? GB? It does tend to happen on some SD cards. You'll want to increase the cluster size of the cards format to reduce the issue.
For some reason my clock speed is sped up to like 1.5 seconds ever second. Do you know what could be the cause of this?
Great professionally made video man, kudos 👍
Thank you so much my man! Much appreciated!!! 😎
for example i have 2000 gba, how can i find a game in it quickly ?, pls
You have 2000 GBA games? Use folders and sort by alphabet (A, B, C… etc). You can then skip pages by pressing left or right to scroll fast.
@@RetroSho That's the only way, right?. Anyway, thankyou
@@trananhieuchannel7721 Welcome! Yessir it is! Not as dynamic, haha. 😂

@@RetroSho Welcome!! And awesome!! Grazie 🤙🏾
Dude, what good timing! I literally got one of these at the beginning of the month. The rumble is freaking awesome!
Haha, I'm on it then, brother! It's a very interesting and neat flash cart! The save states hold up decently well, and there are a few more emulators than the ED GBA. 😎
Спасибо друг!!!скажи какую карту памяти sd лучше использовать?

Is there is spot to get .esv files?
Not that I've seen. The format is a bit wonky.
Another question if I update it will
It delete my games and game saves ??
Before you update I recommend you copy those files to your PC. Just in case. Don’t take any chances my man. 😎

@@RetroSho ok is there way to put the cheats English
@@hunterdronyt5607 You can, but the process is pretty complicated. I'm hoping to look into this a bit more since it's a big issue.
Where did you get all the roms at?
They can be found on Google with a search.
I'm having difficulties bringing over my Pokemon Sapphire save despite following instructions. what are common issues new users face during this step? everything else has been clearer than other videos and I am content loading up games as new, but would rather continue pokemon from my midway point
after some testing, it seems games do not actually save to the drive. perhaps this is still user error?
i was not using the proper version of Simple. I needed to use the DE version.
I had no idea you were using the wrong version of Simple. I'll have to do better to clarify on these videos! Apologies!
@@RetroSho I think your video was actually what cleared up my misunderstanding! I saw DE and my brain was like "but I would like it in English not German" and made the choice to use the wrong version!
@@TheBinklemNetwork Haha! It happens! Glad it was sorted out! It really is a great cart with all of the hook ups. So long as it’s one that isn’t from a bad batch 😅

How much should I be looking to pay for one?
Yo! The price has gone up a bit, but try to not spend more than 90USD.
@@RetroSho that Analogue Pocket got collected going again, hell just yesterday I called 5 local game stores not one had Golden Sun on GBA
@@ray2dee88 It's pretty interesting. Very difficult to find some of the better GBA games without paying up on eBay now. That or having some luck finding em in the wild at a garage sale.
Try these things:
1) If you grabbed a ROM collection from online, unzip the files to your PC FIRST, then copy them over to the SD card.
gbatemp.net/threads/newly-added-roms-not-showing-up-on-ez-flash-omega.570485/post-9142351
@@RetroSho I saw another tutorial that mentioned it’s capped to 256 files per folder.
As for the display size this cannot be changed I'm afraid. 😅
can I update the old ez card or need to buy this one?
You can update the old EZ Card, but it's a different firmware download and slightly different update process. Head here:
gbatemp.net/threads/new-theme-for-ez-flash-omega.520665/
You'll want the download to the left (Simple.zip).
@@RetroSho I have like 64gb and I put a lotta games there, but not appearing all of them, this update will fix that?
@@pierregomes9159 Ahh that’s a bit of a bug with the EZ flash if I recall correctly. Try and make a few sub folders and put 200-300 ROMs in each
hell yeah! thank you!
Awww yeah! Welcome! 😎
Can you place a 120 gig card to it?
You sure can!
@@RetroSho thank you!
Can I overwrite existing cartridges with a rom save file?
You mean like overwrite ROMs themselves or the saves?
@@RetroSho like have an OG game cartridge, then transfer a save file to the OG cartridge. Or overwrite the save file basically.

If this doesn’t work you may have issues with the cart itself and will need to have it replaced. 🤔
@@RetroSho i was reading the comments and i saw that you said this to another user as well lol i have a 32 GB that I just bought so maybe i need to purchase one with a larger cluster size? :)

Unfortunately, it’s not an exact science and these flash carts are very finicky when it comes to storing data. In your case, I would totally recommend borrowing an SD card if you can! I’d rather not see you spend more money on a larger SD card, only for the same issue to crop up. 😅
